for their lives.

So they came ashore

and the sweetness
of the rain-washed air

made them forget the unhappy
days they spent penned up.

Instead of musty hay,

they had the salty taste
of marsh grass...

strange to them,
but wonderful.

Best of all, nobody lived
here to hinder them none.

with the ponies all alone.
