I was a black hawk
mechanic, helicopter mechanic

for 13 years in the army

of street performers.

And the one-man bands,
known as chinchineros,

can be found on pretty
much every corner.

This detour requires one team member

to learn and perform a short routine

while the other plays maracas

and collects money from the crowd.

Assuming they can attract a crowd,

teams must earn 2,500
pesos to get a clue.

There is a global trend

from major cities to repurpose resources

something city officials
are doing here in Santiago

reconfiguring this
abandoned cement factory

into a challenging climbing
wall six stories high.

This detour requires teams

to pick up two race ribbons at the top.

All they have to rely on are
these precarious-looking holds

and their will to win a million dollars.
