Episode Thirty-three

Your Majesty has been

too tired these days.

You told me.

The Wei Household has caused

too many troubles recently.

Your Majesty is referring to

the killing of Zhao Xifeng by Wei Shuyou?

More than that.

We will never know whether he did it or not.

Those rich lords always

fight against each other.

As long as they balance out each other’s power,

there will be no threat to me.

Your Majesty can rest assure on this matter.

Our spies are

working harder now.

As soon as they have something,

they will report it.

Only you

can help me deal with all of this mess.

It is

my greatest pleasure.

Master,

please have some tea.

Uncle.

Uncle.

Are you all right? Uncle.

If Shuyou was as calm and thorough as you,

he would still be alive.

Master,

do we need to send someone to kill Yan Xun?

Not now. It would be too obvious.

We better wait.

Even if we need to kill him,

we can’t have blood on our hands.

Yes, sir.

We can hire some

private assassinators.

No matter how much it will cost.

Contact them first,

but tell them to wait.

We need to find the right time.

Yes, sir.

Uncle.

Master.

Be careful.

I am not

a genius,

but I am not stupid, either.

How could my son be so reckless?

The future of our family is counting on you now.

Shuye,

Uncle.

Zhao Xifeng and Wei Shuyou are both dead now.

It may bring some comfort to His Highness.

It also saves us a lot of troubles in the future.

It is hard to tell now.

Those rich lords are powerful.

They make sacrifices if necessary.

His Highness is still young

and inexperienced.

If we want to do this,

we must be certain that we will succeed.

Otherwise, it would only alarm the enemies

and bring us more troubles.

The Wei Household will

definitely take revenge

on His Highness.

You need to be extremely careful.

Yes, sir.

This is a secret letter

from His Highness.

If the Wei Household

makes the move

and His Highness is in danger,

all of us

including those in the Street of Rosefinch

need to protect His Highness

no matter what.

Therefore,

Yu…

It is worth it.

Feng Mian sent a warning to us.

Wei Guang has been

bribeing traders in Xian Yang.

He wants to destroy Yanbei

without a war.

The Wei Household is the main concern

of Yanbei.

We need to get rid of them.

Eunuch has arrived.

Miss Chu.

What’s the matter, Eunuch?

His Majesty calls for Miss Chu

to the court.

His Majesty wants to see me?

Yes.

Fine.

I am not sure whether it is safe for you to go there.

I need to go there

either way.

Don’t worry.

Miss, please follow me.

Miss, please wait here for a moment.

I will tell them you have arrived.

OK.

How dare you, you wicked maid.

You bring weapon into court.

Catch her.

Stop it.

Yuwen Yue,

this wicked maid brought weapon into court.

She must have some evil plan in mind.

Don’t get involved in this.

That is my PoYue Jian.

I asked her to bring this to me

because I forgot it at Prince Yan Xun’s place.

Besides, it is His Majesty who calls for her.

Isn’t that right, Xing’er?

Yes.

Young Master Huai,look carefully.

This is PoYue Jian.

Brother, you were just punished by His Majesty.

I think you better

behave yourself now.

I am here to visit Princess Yuan Chun.

What does that have to do with you?

Why do you bring weapon with you if you are visiting Her Highness?

That is

my question to you.

I am the vice commander in chief of Xiaoqi Camp.

Can’t I bring a weapon with me at court?

You have been demoted.

I think you better

behave yourself.

Let’s go, Xing’er.

Why did you call for me?

Give me my sword back.

Give me mine first.

You have grown up.

You sound stronger now.

I think you have someone to rely on.

Who would that person be?

Yan Xun?

Yuwen Yue, I didn’t come to you,

but you found me first.

How dare you.

Did you forget

who taught you martial art?

You really think your dirty little trick

can deceive anyone?

I do.

The Emperor of the Wei State

was deceived by

my dirty little trick.

As long as you don’t have the statement of freedom,

you are still a maid

at the Green Hills Court.

Tell me.

What does it take for you

to give me the statement of freedom?

As long as I don’t give it to you,

you are still my maid.

How about this?

You serve me one more day.

Serving you one more day?

Aren't you afraid

I stabbed you ten times a day?

If you really are capable of

try me

Really?

Did I ever

joke with you?

Miss Chu

Please don't stand on ceremony

You can call me Chu Qiao

An important document has just been sent

from the northwest

The majesty instantly call for a few ministers

to the palace to discuss the affair

He may not have enough time seeing you today

You can leave now

Thank you for informing

Don't you ask why the majesty

wants to see me?

Why should I ask?

You'll tell me any way

I am surely not saying if you don't ask

Miss A'chu

A'chu, your highness

What did the majesty

want you to do?

To be a general? Or marshal?

Neither

No?

He had something urgent

He didn't see me at all

Something like what?

I don't know

I heard it was an important official document from northwest

Right

If he wants to do anything to me

he must get rid of

all my right-hand subordinates first

Sooner

or later

Don't you worry?

Nothing to worry about

We've prepared for such a long time

Aren't we waiting for this moment?

Well, by the way

when are you going to

take out your roast duck?

I'm starving

Good nose

Smell good

Here, have a bite

How does it taste?

You first

After you

Tasty?

And

I need to go out tomorrow

Where?

I met Yuwen Yue

in the place

He wants me to be his maid for one day

so that he can give the decreed for freedom

Have you decided yet?

Surely yes

I can't let him hold

my weakness any more

So I must get

the decreed

We have promised to each other

No deceiving

no hiding

So

I must tell you the truth

the Green Hill Courtyard

Please

Xing'er

(Sorrow music)

After you left

your room

is asked to cleaned everyday by the master

Come in

Being a master

besides Yan Xun for several years

you've forgotten all the rules

in the Green Hill Courtyard, right?

You skill is improved

What? Deaf?

I'm afraid no good words

can come out of my mouth

Just say some good words

Nothing good for you

Is that a proper attitude

as a maid?

There are many kinds of maids

One that keep flattering

and trying to get a higher position

One that keep bearing

and only want to survive

Another kind hate his master

so much

that wishes to kill the master right now

Of which kind are you?

I belong to a more dangerous kind

that can kill you in a minute

Then why don't you

poison me in the tea?

You've seen it

I drank the tea without even thinking

Won't that be easier？

Yuwen Yue

Never imagined you could be so stupid

after I left these years

I am no longer the Xing'er

in the past

Have you lost

the most basic alert?

You want to kill me so much

Why did you agree to

come back to the Green Hill?

Aren't you afraid that I

kill you again?

Or

do you trust me in your mind？

Don't ask when you know the answer

If you didn't threaten me

with the decreed

why would I come here

to waste my time with you?

Xing'er, if I were you

I won't try to make my master angry

My name is not Xing'er, I am Chu Qiao

You are Xing'er at the Green HIll

Xing'er, Xing'er, Xing'er

Xing'er

It hurts. It hurts

It hurts

Let's go

Follow me to the outside

Let me check your gongfu

is improved or not

If you are died in the test

it is because you are too weak

Don't blame me for murdering

Pretty arrogant

Let's see

whether you are capable of

Enough. Enough. Enough.

Enough

Time to have the meal

Let's eat together

The rule is not like this before

Aren't all the rules made by me?

Didn't you refuse to eat

if the food isn't dedicate enough?

Why do you eat such simple food

now?

If you had eaten the carrion

from dead horse for three days

will you still be particular about food?

You can finally know this

Although I am not particular

I don't like it when someone else

scramble for meat with me

You want me to sit and eat

Since we eat together

why does this meat belong to you?

I pick it first

Didn't notice

Can't you even eat the carrion

from the dead horse?

Must be okay to just eat meat with some dirt

Master Yue, I have made the bed

You can go to sleep now

This is Qianhun Powder

made of the venom from a toxic spider

from Persia

It is said that it can kill a thousand persons

with only one drop

It is the king of poison

The people outside the border may be not knowledgeable

They always exaggerate

Maybe it cannot kill

a thousand persons with one drop

but enough to kill one person

What are you saying?

Master

The lord is poisoned by the rare drug

Qianhun Powder

The antidote is here, master

Antidote

There is only one...

Zhanmou, the antidote

Antidote

Master

There was only one Huanhun Dan here

Master,help me

Help me

After suffering for several hours

he will die painfully

after his organs burst down

Master, please

Kill me

Kill me

Please

Please kill me

The Huanhun Dan is precious

I only got one that year

The drug is precious

Isn't human' lives either?

I am asking you, does human lives

mean anything to you in your mind?

Xing'er

You shouldn't live only for the others

You should free yourself

Birds of different feather do not flock together

No need to explain any more

What I promised is done

When can I get the decreed?

Yueqi

Take the decreed. Prepare the carriage

Send Xing'er leave

the Green Hill Courtyard

This is the decreed for freedom

You don't belong here any more,

after you leave the Green Hill

I never belong here, never ever

That year, the master faked your death

with the needle

He rushed to save you

but encountered an assassination on the way

That's why he was delayed

When we got there,

you were already gone

Why don't you sleep? It's so late

The air is fresh after the rain

I came out for a walk

Were you done?

I've got the decreed

Did he embarrass you?

It's not the past any more

He can't do anything to me any more

A'chu, drink some boiled ginger water before sleep

Don't catch cold after exposed in the rain

A'chu

I don't have the ability

to protect you now

from things like this

I am sorry

I will take you to leave soon

No need to experience these things any more

I swear

Yan Xun, no need to say sorry

between you and I

We have experienced so much together

And we have something

more important to do

Don't worry about me

or think too much

Earlier relax

A woman than can't be control

is better to die

That year, the master faked your death

with the needle

He rushed to save you

but encountered an assassination on the way

That's why he was delayed

When we got there,

you were already gone

I think Wei Guang

won't keep cool for long

He will revenge soon

The thing comes can't be avoided

It's already cool

for Wei Guang that old fox

to wait until now

Troubles will come

if we don't take this obstacle down

Things taken out from

the grave of the royal family

should have reached the palace by now

Yes

The only thing left now is

the attitude of the majesty

Prince

Mr. Wu have left this

He told you to open it

when you want to eliminate Wei Guang

The case of fire in the grave has not yet been checked out

The burial objects

became best seller

in the antique market

I sent people to the grave

to check what was stolen

but they found that the grave was full of plashes

Dear minister,

as the chief supervisor of the grave

can you explain to me

why this is happening?

I... I will strictly examine

Are you capable of that?

From choosing the cite

to building the grave of ex-emperor

the whole process is governed by you alone

Now the grave is ruined everywhere,

with plashes full of the ground,

like the palace of a water dragon

If the fire hadn't happened,

I am still hidden from the fact

Do you treat me

like a three-year-old boy?

Please don't be angry

Something wrong happened to the grave

As the chief supervisor

this is my unshirkable responsibility.

I am old and have limited energy.

Sometimes there are oversights

poor regulations.

But I am never

corrupted and steal from Your Majesty.

It has been five years since the completion of Imperial Mausoleum.

The Ministry of Rites did the site selection, I regulated the work,

Master Liu in the Ministry of Works lead the construction,

Left Army Captain Yuwen Huai guarded the place.

Then somehow thieves forced their way in

and set fire to Imperial Mausoleum.

I really don't know

what happened.

Your Majesty,

please allow me

to make thorough investigation.

I must give you an answer.

That's enough.

If you

really have an open heart,

you can just stay in your house

and behave yourself.

I will ask somebody

to make a thorough investigation.

Yes, Your Majesty.

Your Majesty.

Yuwen Yue,

Imperial Mausoleum got stolen.

You are given full authority to investigate.

You can enquire every official

at any time.

You can also deploy

soldiers from Xiaoji Camp and Chang'an Office at any time.

I give you ten days.

You must find out the truth.

Also,

among the lost items,

there is one relic called Baiyu Tripod.

There is no trace of it,

which gives me a headache.

By the flamen's calculation,

this tripod

wasa put on the Fengshui Line

inside the imperial mausoleum.

It means guardianship and fortune

and is extremely important.

It mustn't fall into other hands.

I will make thorough investigation.

Don't worry, Your Majesty.

Have you met with Yan Xun in private

since you got back?

Yes, Your Majesty. I met him once.

He is a totally different person

compared with what he was several years ago.

He is more moderate now.

Moderate, outwardly.

There are some things

that can't be effaced by time.

As long as you can focus on primary things

and stand firm.

Your accomplishment

will exceed that of your grandfather.

Yes, Your Majesty.

You freaked me out.

Brother Yu,

what are you doing?

Why are you sitting there in a trance?

Are you thinking over something?

Well, will Brother Yan Xun

be in danger?

What danger?

I've been dreaming these days.

I dreamt that someone tried to kill him.

You,

are always in unwarranted anxiety.

It's not unwarranted.

The due time of three years is coming.

You know what it was like

at that time.

He has too many enemies.

These people won't let him

safely return to Yanbei.

What can we do?

Father has ordered Yuwen Yue

to strictly watch over

the Oriole Courtyard.

He can't guard there

forever.

It will not go on for long.

I, as the princess of Wei State,

can do noting to help him.

Chun'er.

So you are upset

about this.

This is not your fault.

You live in palaces.

This is beyond one's grasp.

But I thought for a long time

last night.

And I got a wonderful idea.

What idea?

Have a guess.

I don't want to.

If you don't tell me,

then I won't listen to it.

Fine. Fine. Fine.

I can't guess it.

Please tell me, dear sister.

Brother,

what if Yan Xun

becomes my husband?

Then no one can

bully him.

This is not something that you thought last night.

This is something that you have thought

for half of your lide.

(Sound of laughter)

I mean it.

You can think over it.

This is the final way.

If so,

Brother Yan Xun will be safe.

Then I tell you seriously.

There is little chance that

Yan Xun will marry you.

Father won't allow it, firstly.

Do you have a better plan?

No?

Then you should support me.

Chun'er.

You mustn't

tell Father about it.

Or he will think that

it is Yan Xun who lets you say it.

He will be in more trouble.

Chun'er!

Hello, Mother.

Are you here to bring me

the pirture of propitious clouds drawn by Zhang Sengyou?

Pirtures drawn by painters in palaces

do lack some spiritual power.

Mother,

I forget.

Later I will ask Caiyue

to sent it to you.

I have a gift for you today,

Mother.

This is the most popular

beauty-clay in Chang'an City.

It is said to be made of secret ingredients.

Mother, you can try it.

Put it away.

Yes.

I hope that

the supreme beauty of Wei State

can stay young and beautiful

forever.

Mother, why are you

engrossed in drawing pictures these days?

Chun'er, you are a big girl now.

I will be worried

if I ask someone else to draw

the propitious clouds pictures used in your wedding.

Mother,

you have been doing this for a long time.

Take a rest.

Your eyes will be tired.

In addition,

there's no hurry for my wedding.

The other day, Head Eunuch Wang

said that the prince of Liang State would come to Chang'an.

Your father wants to

make alliances with them through marriage.

What?

Only you are

suitable to marry.

How can't I be worried?

Make alliances with Liang State through marriage...

Mother, you don't want me

to marry into another country which is so far.

I don't want to leave you, Mother.

Distance is not so important.

However, the prince of Liang State

has a notorious playboy reputation.

He seeks carnal pleasures in his palace

before he get married.

With your temper,

how can you put up with it?

That's right, Mother.

I don't want wealth and title.

I don't want power.

I just want to be like Princess Mingzhen

from previous dynasty

who find her Mr.Right

even though he is just a ordinary official.

They love each other so much

and they always accompany each other.

I'm glad to hear it.

The theft in Imperial Mausoleum

only showes tip of the iceberg.

It is a fact that

Wei Guang deceives his superiors and deludes his subordinates

and exploit the masses.

As long as His Majesty wants to investigate him,

he is bound to die.

I'm afraid that His Majesty

wants to warn him with our hands.

We must hit the pain point of him.

He can't get away with it

if we get the key evidence.

His Majesty

wants to find balance

only if himself

is not harmed.

This is the order from Eyes of God.

It corresponds with

a person whom I placed

besides Wei Guang.

Use it.

Young Master.

Be cautious.

Yes.

Master,

the result of the survey shows that

walls of underground palace are seriously damaged.

Part of South Wall collapsed

and blocked the dike,

making East Tomb and South Tomb sinking in water.

The fire that day only burnt

buildings outside the underground palace.

The inside is untouched.

However,

water leaking is quite obvious.

Master.

Master Liu Shen from the Ministry of Works

was dismissed.

Several contractors were also

thrown in prison

in Chang'an Office.

Yuwen Yue's men guarded them.

Don't worry, Master.

They daren't to tell anything.

I doubt that

Yan Xun is behind it.

You go and find the source of these funeral objects

on the black market immediately.

As long as you find anything,

we can doom Yan Xun to death.
