working hard to deliver goods and passengers to their destinations.

[horn tooting] There are branch lines

that run along the coast of the island,

serving the docks, the fishing villages

and the seaside towns.

[whistle blowing]

There are branch lines that run to the farms, quarries

and ancient castles of the island's heartlands.

[whistle blowing] And there is the main line...

Express coming through!

which runs all the way from Knapford on the west coast of the island...

[whistle blowing]

to Vicarstown in the east.

[whistle tooting] And the line continues over the Vicarstown Bridge,

where it connects to the mainland beyond.

One day, Henry was pulling a very important goods train

on his way to the mainland.

- [whistle tooting] - [whistle blowing]

Faster! Faster!

[truck 1] Hurry up, Henry!

[truck 2] We haven't got all day!

[trucks laughing]

[narrator] A faulty signal should have warned Henry

there was another goods train stuck on the track up ahead.

- [gasps] - Then...

[grunting] everything happened at once.

- [shouting] - [distorted] No!

[distorted] Oof! [grunts]

[distorted scream]

[distorted scream]

Help! Aaah!

[whimpering] Aaah!

[whimpering continues] [tires screeching]

[narrator] Poor Henry wouldn't be going to the mainland now.

[whistle blowing] [Henry] Oh!

[tweeting]

[squeaking] [train whistle blowing]

[squeaking] [train] Whoo-hoo!

Hoo-hoo! Whoo! Ha ha ha!

Hello, bunnies. Hello, squirrels.

It's bright and sunny,

and everybody on Sodor seems happy.

and he can collect those cars first thing in the morning.

James doesn't like pulling cars.

You're going to be pulling a goods train tomorrow morning.

[gasps] While I will be working with my faithful coaches again,

Annie and Clarabel.

Thomas was still very cross about James.

He keeps saying he's Sir Topham Hatt's favorite engine.

And tomorrow he's going off to the mainland to have a big adventure,

while I'm stuck here doing the same jobs I always do.

[scoffs] Percy.

But I have to take the mail train now.

The next morning, James went to Vicarstown Goods Yard to collect his cars.

The cars that Henry was pulling when he had his accident.

Sir Topham Hatt said it was very important to take them to the mainland today.

Oh, those cars.

That's why Thomas came so early.

I know it's taking a bit longer than I thought,

[gasps] Maybe we'll find some coal there.

That's probably the goods yard now.

And if it's not? [Thomas] Well,

then we can stop and ask for directions again.

[chuckles] Or get another engine.

Who knows where he's going. [laughing]

[trucks laughing]

[female truck 1] I have a feeling we're not on Sodor anymore.

the other engines were wondering what had happened to Thomas.

[gasps] or fell down a mine...

or crashed into a stationmaster's house.

[laughing]

In fact, I'd say he might be my favorite new engine.
