I salute you like how people from all over the world greet each other, like how they say good morning.

Selamun aleyküm, sabahel hayr, sabah be hayr, rojbaş, pali lui, good morning,
guten morgen, bonjour, buongiorno, dobroye utro, salamat pagi, ohayo gozaimasu, zaoen…

However way they say it.

I salute you how the family of seven and a half billion people around the world greet each other.

and we’re starting our fourth lesson of Siretu’l Quran, Quran’s journey of life lessons.

We’re not forgetting again; “without becoming a human first you can’t be a Muslim”, “show your devoutness to Allah, I need your humanity,” we say.

And again, we say; If a religion that does not build up a person's morality, wisdom, conscience, justice, quality, it only increases his or her hooliganism and bigotry.

We take refuge in Allah from such kind of religion and lean towards the religion that Allah sent to us and take refuge in it.

Today our topic is “morality of Jahiliyyah mushriks”.

As you know, our Siretu’l Quran lessons are about the life journey of Quran... While talking about the journey of Quran, we need to know about where the Quran has landed.

The place where Quran has descended, nuzul environment of verses.
Just like a place where a tree takes roots.

If you see problems in the fruit of a tree, if you see problems in its growth, if you see problems in its health, then that means there is a problem where that tree stands, where it takes its roots.

Either something is lacking in the soil, water or a mineral, or something else or there is a problem in the air. It means there is a problem in its environment.

So, the best way to understand this problem is to understand its environment.

The best way to understand the verses, the course of Nuzul Al-Quran, is to get to know the places where the Quran has set foot on. That’s what we are doing here.

Previously, we discussed the Jahiliyyah Arab culture. Today, we will discuss the morality of Jahiliyyah.

When we say Jahiliyyah morality, there is no doubt that every society has a different understanding of morality.
But first, I will talk about the word morality briefly…

Ahlak (morality), derives from the word “hilkat(creation)”. Hulk (nature), hilk (creation) and halk (society)... All three are from the same root.
Hilk, derives from hilkat. It means creation. So, are we going to describe the morality this way?

If the word morality derives from the word creation,
will we say; ‘to act in accordance with the creation of man or something is what is moral’? No.

Because we can’t judge an animal’s behaviors as ‘moral or not’.
Such a classification cannot be made. So how do we define morality then? I will come to it.

Hilkat, hulk ... What does that mean? That is
exactly what we call morality in the Arabic language. In other words, if it is used with Dhamma...

Dhamma implies the subject in Arabic language philosophy.
To be the subject of your own actions… Hulk means to be the perpetrator, the subject not the object of your own actions. It means conscious behavior.

“Halk” derives from the same root. We say halk.
What does that mean? Worldly.
It means the worldly part of the behavior. It also called
all worldly means of behavior.
So that's the word “morality”.

In Turkish, “morality” is used as to mean traditions (tore in Turkish).
They also call it ethics.
Traditions actually mean laws. Its origins go up to “Torah”.

The word ‘tore’ (traditions) in Turkish is derived from Torah.
So, it's not very clear how the interaction happened.
But tore derived from Torah. Tore actually
means customs.

Today it means tradition. Custom, tradition, folkway.
Maybe we should say public morality, perhaps ancestral morality…

The behaviors of your ancestors become your morality.
Thus, that was precisely the moral understanding of the Jahiliyyah, what they understood from morality.

“Moral”… In the first half of the 20th century it was used as ’moral’. It was used like this for about three hundred years.
It’s a word of Latin origin. After that, a word of Greek
origin, “ethic” started to be used.
This is also mentioned in Aristoteles’ famous work;
“The Nicomachean Ethics”.

I think there is a difference like this
between ethics and morality:
Morality refers to more individual morality and ethics refers to a public morality.

Actually, the root meaning, etymology and the origin of the word “ethic” is in harmony with the word “ahlaq” in Arabic.
The relationship between morality and freedom is undoubtedly an unbreakable relationship. Why is that?

Because if something is not based on your free preferences, it is questioned whether it is your morality.

Because if you are forced to do something, that action is not your responsibility…
When you force someone to do something that is not his choice,
you cannot characterize it as ’moral' or 'not moral'. Why? Because it’s not his action…

That action is the action of the person who forces him or her.
He/she didn’t choose to do it… He/she didn't use his/her free will…
For that reason, the means of morality is evident.
Reason, will, conscience and consciousness are the instruments of morality.

There are some indispensable parts of morality.
The first one is information. Information comes first again.
Because you cannot do something well without knowing it well.
It is information based.
See, moral behavior is based on the action of a good people.

After information comes responsibility.
Responsibility is one of the basic needs of morality.
No moral behavior can exist without responsibility.

The third one is empathy. In fact, we know it
From a hadith, a marvelous phrase that is as old as
humanity itself:
“Do unto others as you would have them do unto you”.

Now how did we come to the phrase
“If you pity, you will be in a pitiful situation.”?…
How did the ummah of a prophet who says: “If you have no compassion, there will be no compassion for you.” come to accept the phrase: "If you pity, you will be in a pitiful situation."?

I think we should add another class to the moral classifications: “mastiff morality”! And this is an example of this,
mastiff morality…
For that reason, one of the most fundamental qualities of morality is empathy.

You put yourself in somebody’s shoes.
After you put yourself in somebody’s and say:
“I would be ok with this if it was done to me,” then do it.
But if you say: “No, I wouldn’t like it if someone did this to me,” then don’t do it.

This dispersive characteristic is a characteristic of
conscience. Conscience is a distinctive entity.
For that reason, these are the basic principles and capitals of morality. Morality is built upon these.

One of the things that I wanted to say about morality was this.

Sometimes I see that it is being used wrongly. "Good-evil" is used in the field of morality
"justice-cruelty" is used in the field of law,

“wrong-right” is used in the field of logic,
“truth-superstition” is used in the field of religion and belief,
"beautiful-ugly" is used in the field of aesthetics and art...

For that reason, the right information about where to use which pairs of concepts,
makes it easier to think correctly. It makes it easier
for us to do it right.

Yes, in a place where there is no will, wisdom, conscience and consciousness, we cannot speak of morality.
That being said, we cannot say whether the behavior of animals is moral or not.

It can be discussed whether a human behavior is moral or not.

Because, human’s behaviors are conscious,
based on a logic and will, meaning; humans behave selectively. For this reason, morality is actually the form of your behavior in
the relationship you have with objects, with people, with God and with yourself.

Morality always takes place in the field of behavior.
So, it's not enough to have good thoughts. You need to do good deeds. Those who have good thoughts but do not do good deeds are not behaving morally.

Well, those who harbor good thoughts should already do good deeds. In this sense, you will remember the words,
Maruf (accepted) and munker (rejected), in the Quran.
Al-ma’ruf, al-munkar. These two concepts are moral, not religious.

He calls to ma’ruf and protects from munkar. This is the basic task.
Maruf; what people perceive as good, and munkar is what people perceive as bad.

Yes, now I will come to the definition of morality.
This is my definition.
Morality; is the behavior in accordance with the meaning and purpose of existence.

I’ve said before: we can't say morality is the appropriate behavior for creation
because even unintelligent beings behave in accordance with their creation. But we cannot say it is moral.
Then what is the difference in this definition?

Meaning and purpose. To be able to speak of moral behavior,
a creature needs to be able to read the meaning
and understand the behavior.

That is; we cannot say the behaviors of a creature
that is not capable of comprehending meaning and purpose
is moral or not.

Because humans can search for meaning, see and realize meanings, we can say that “it is moral or not” about the behaviors of human beings.

Morality of the shirk society… When we say mushriks, we immediately go back to one thousand and four hundred years ago.
I’m saying it, so you don’t think back to that long.
Shirk society. Why? The shirk society has not went away,
shirk society is not something from a thousand and four hundred years ago.

If they had ceased to exist a thousand and four hundred years ago,
one third of the verses in the Quran would have expired;
they would be out of date, right? The shirk society is still alive today as well.

As Arif Nihat Asya says, may he rest in peace, “Abu Jahl is travelling around the continents” …
So, Abū Jahl is everywhere.

As I’ve said; “Abū Lahab dies, but his ideas live.”
Abu Jahl dies, his ideas don’t.
The pharaoh dies, his ideas don’t.
The brave dies, bravery does not die. It’s the same thing.

Humans die, humanity does not. Yes, in this sense what kind of morality was the morality of the shirk society?

When we say shirk society, what comes to our minds?
Jahil versus halim. (15:35)
Yes, in Arabic language jahil (ignorant) is the antonym of ‘halîm’(lenient).

So, if there is any of you wondering what the antonym of the jahil was, in Arabic its opposite is ‘halîm’.

What is halim? In Turkish language it has a meaning like “soft-tempered, amenable”.
But “halim” a is actually:

It means someone who does what he does consciously,
acting with reason and logic.
Therefore, “jahil” means “illogical”.
“Halim” at the same time means “kind”.

Thus, “jahil: rude”. Halim at the same time means;
“the one who treats people nicely”.
Therefore, what does jahil refer to?

“The one who treats people badly” meaning;
the kind of person who is “bigot, rude, bully, macho”.
The era or period we call Jahiliyyah is actually a period of machismo and hooliganism.

For that reason, these two words are the opposite of each other.
Arrogant and humble. Halim also means “humble”
in the Arabic language. So, what does jahil means then?
“Arrogant”.

Hadd and Ḥudūd. Had means boundary. A man who does not know his boundaries is Jahiliyyah.
Restrained/unrestrained.
So, these two are the opposite of each other. Restrained versus unrestrained.

Therefore, a restrained man is halim and an unrestrained man is…
Actually, being unrestrained means being unfortunate.

They put a unreal dogma in the hearts of this ummah, “belief in fate”…
This society, this Muslim eastern society is ‘unfortunate’.

Why?

They are unrestrained. Unrestrained.

Allah declares that He has created all things in a measure, doesn't he?

But we are face to face with a mass that does not obey any measure.

My spouse asked for a towel holder.
I bought it and put it on the wall.
No towels could fit in.
It has no restrain, no standards. There are no standards in this region.

For that reason, you cannot do standard control to check whether something fits in the standards.
Why? Because there are no standards. They don’t believe in measures. They don’t believe in Allah’s laws.

There is no standard in their actions.
There are no standards in their ideas. You make them merchants,
There are no standards in the trade they do. ‘Kabbalist’, ‘jobber’. They don’t measure, they don’t weigh. That’s why they’re always rude.

They’re rude in their thoughts.
You go and make this man a scientist, and he still has no standards, no principles.
He writes his doctoral thesis by stealing from here and there. And he gets somewhere in life.

You make this man a politician. But he still has no standards.
None at all.
He makes all the definitions himself. He does not conform to internationally accepted definitions.

Meaning, whatever you do, he has no restrains.
Restrained/unrestrained,
this is the difference between jahil and my halim. Pious and immoral!...

A thinker visited Russia. They asked him;
"How did you find Russia?” He answered; "I found it very religious and immoral."

Don't bring that thinker over here!

Tribes and fathers are conditioned with religious ethics.
Yes, the most typical characteristic of the
ethics of Jahiliyyah is that they are conditioned with the tribe.

Wasn’t there anything good in the Jahiliyyah?
There was. You know, there are people who say:
"Oh, let's not be unfair to the Jahiliyyah"…

Look. There is a “Jahiliyyah morality foundation” called “Ird”.
When I say institution, you shouldn't think of an official institution.

There is such an implementation, a tradition, a custom. In this ird morality, muruwwa (generosity) is one of the most basic qualities.

Muruwwa is used in our language too, it means ‘humanity’, ‘being a good person’…
But bravery for example was very important in the Jahiliyyah culture. Bravery,

Being brave… Cowardly men were no man. Hospitality, generosity…
It had a very important place in the Jahiliyyah morality.

If you had seen how the Jahiliyyah society offered coffee…
Offering coffee to someone, to a guest was a very peculiar, very significant labor.

First, you must start a fire. What did it mean to start a fire in the desert? There was no oven, no gas there, no such thing.

First, they would start a fire, the fire will turn into embers,
after that they would beat the coffee in the stone mortar,
after beating the coffee, they would make the coffee on the embers of the fire and bring it to you.

Now you will say offering someone a cup of coffee deserves appreciation for forty years. (from an old Turkish saying)
Now you just put the coffee in the coffee-maker and bring it to your guest and expect a forty-year long appreciation.

No, no it might have a one-minute long appreciation. But not forty years.

Therefore, generosity was like this in the Jahiliyyah culture.
Freedom. They were very fond of their freedom.
But all of these were conditioned morality.

Conditioned morality is no morality. Morality is divided into two. Unconditioned morality, conditioned morality. Why is that?

He behaves morally to one person and immorally to another. This is what we call conditioned morality.

For a behavior to be considered unconditioned morality,
it shouldn't be important where that behavior is conducted, to whom it is conducted and when it is conducted.
It should be conducted just because it is a good behavior. Just because it is virtuous.

So, if it changes according to who you are dealing with, that behavior is not moral. We do not call it moral behavior. We call it immoral behavior.

You did the right thing, but it’s an immoral behavior. Why? Because you acted properly just because that person was one of you.
‘I know this person, but I don’t know that one!’

‘I should be ethical and honest with the one I know, but not the one I don’t know!’
See, this is a kind of immorality.

‘I should be fair to the one I know, to the ones I am close with,
but I have no responsibility to be fair to the ones I don’t know, the ones I am not close with!’
See, this is a kind of immorality.

Therefore, conditioned morality is no morality.
So, there was this kind of moral behaviors in the Jahiliyyah society. But all of them were conditioned with their tribes.

Religion of tribe and ancestors.
Therefore, morality was formed around the tribes.
“If he is not from our tribe, then I don’t have to be honest toward him.”

If he is not from our tribe, then I don’t have to give or offer anything to him.
If he is not from our tribe, then I don’t have to respect him or his life.

“If he is not from our tribe, then I don’t have to respect his freedom!”
Does these remind you of anything?

Do they remind you of anything from nowadays?
For that reason, tribalism is still existent today.

Yes, exceptions do not break rules.
Of course, there are good people in every society,
but if the good ones are fewer in number, then they are doomed to be exceptions.

For that reason, If the good ones are not passive but active, then they can stop being the exceptions in a society;
goodness becomes a rule.

All our efforts are for the goodness
to stop being the exception and become the rule,
and for the evil to become the exception.

Shirk as a type of immorality.
We are dealing with the issue of the Jahiliyyah society’s morality.
We see shirk at the core of the Jahiliyyah society’s morality.

When we say shirk, you think of a belief system.
The first thing that comes to your minds is a belief system.
What kind of a belief system?

It means: “Attributing Allah’s characteristics to another entity than Allah!”
That's shirk. Please do not confuse shirk with atheism or ilhad.

Shirk; is a belief that includes Allah in it.
One who does not believe in Allah cannot do shirk. Every mushrik has to believe in Allah.

We cannot call deniers who don't believe in Allah "mushriks". And the only sin Allah does not forgive is "shirk".
Why? Because shirk affects morality before it affects your dogmas.

Yes, shirk is a form of immorality. For that reason, never forget this verse. Please write this verse in your minds.

“İnneme’l-muşrikûne necesun: indeed, the polytheists (mushriks) are filthy.” The question is this:
Did the Quran insult people? No, I’m seriously asking this question.

I ask the Muslims who believe that the Quran is the truth, that it is Allah’s book: Did Allah insult people here? That’s the question.

Read the 140th verse of Surah An-Nisa: “when you hear the Verses of Allah being denied and mocked at, then sit not with them, until they engage in a talk other than that.”

It does not say: “Beat them, behead them, remove their eyes from their sockets, throw them into pits!”
Quran just tells us to leave that place until they change the topic of their conversations. It’s this kind of book.

Full of mercy.

So, then why does it use a sentence like this: “Mushriks are filthy. The shirk society is tainted.”
I have felt this verse so deeply in this day and age.

Every day I feel this deep in my core: “mushriks are filthy.”
I say this every single day.
I’m so glad I have you my dear Allah, I say. I’m so glad you exist.

I can see. I saw it a lot of times. What kind of a filthy creatures the mushriks are…
Those who do not experience it, cannot know this feeling.

If the shirk society had done one-fortieth of
what they have done to me to you, you would thank Allah for this verse, too.

Because words fail you. We are not the sort of people to use foul language.

So, what will we do?

You can’t explain what is going on, words fail you. You say: “How could this happen?”
You say: “How can a person do this?”, right? That’s what it is; “The shirk society is tainted.”
One sentence. There is no other explanation.

It is so accurate that you say: “Thank you my Allah.”

Why? Does Quran insult? Quran does not insult. Quran takes a photo.
Quran describes, qualifies.

Quran mentions a situation. In all its glory, with complete clarity.

It says it in a clear and concise way, without dancing around the words:
“Shirk society is filthy!”

Why? The first answer it this verse of Surah Yunus (10:100):
“We yec’alu’r-ricse alellezîne lâ ya’qilûn:
And He throws filth on those who do not use their commonsense!”
Because shirk cancels the mind!

Second; they serve and become the lovers, disciples of the subjects of Allah. Look at Surah Al-Ahzab 33:67.
Yes, you will see this phrase there: “sâdetenâ we kuberâenâ (our masters and our dignitaries)”.

Only in one time in Quran does the word “sâdet” passes. And it is here.
It is used for the ones who do not use their minds, the ones who enslave people.

Very interesting. Where and how did you find
this name and used it to refer to your sheikh?

A caste that the Quran mortifies and curses, how did you glorify them and put them on your head like crowns? This is another problem.

The third one is; either he becomes a slave of a subject of Allah, like how it is proclaimed in Surah Az-Zukhruf (43:54).
Becoming a servant of Allah’s subjects

that is to say, either he becomes a pharaoh or searches for a pharaoh! The basis of all evil
comes from here. The basis of all immortality,

Is about becoming a servant of Allah’s subject. If becoming a servant to one of Allah’s subjects is forbidden,
then becoming a servant of money,
becoming a servant of authority, becoming a servant of reputation is already forbidden.

To be a servant to a man or a woman, to be a servant to a child, etc…
Therefore, all evil starts with becoming a servant to a subject.

All evil starts with enslaving a servant of Allah.
All immorality starts with dividing the servants of Allah.

Allah has no gain from our faith.
But Allah wants us to know as “the one”.
This is what “Lâ ilâhe illallah” means.

“Lâ ilâhe illallah” means don’t be immoral. Why
If you start becoming a slave to Allah’s subjects or start enslaving Allah’s subjects, then all evil starts to descend.

A man would do anything to enslave a subject of Allah or when he becomes a servant of someone, he would do anything and everything he orders. Why?

Because he has divinized a human being and became a subject of him.
He starts praising his master like how he would praise Allah and entrusts his mind to him. He would rent out his mind.

After he rent out his mind, it is obvious how the one who hires that mind will use it…

He becomes a zombie of him and no part of his humanity would be left in him, none at all.
He would turn into something else. He would turn into a mankurt.

He would turn into the mankurt that is in Cengiz Aytmatov’s novel.

Therefore, shirk being filthy, the shirk society being filthy is about this.
It is because of this. I will give you an example.

I will give you this example from Quran. Why?
Because Quran is the source of Arabic language.

There is no authentic or licensed source for the Arabic language before the Quran or as old as Quran.

For that reason, we have to evaluate Quran as the first example of Arabic tradition, Arabic Jahiliyyah, Arabic literature, Arabic language, etc. There is no other source.

You will say Jahiliyyah poem. No, the Jahiliyyah poem was compiled one hundred and fifty or two hundred years after the Quran. And unfortunately, most of them was fabricated.

Fabricated hadith problem existed even when the Quran was still revealed to us. Quran does not mention this problem without a reason.

At the last verse of the Surah Yusuf; “Mâ kâne hadîsen yufterâ:
Never was the Qur'an a narration invented!”(12:111) it says. Why?

People think the problem about forged hadiths started when the hadiths were being written or compiled,
during the 2nd or 3rd century.

No! This problem existed already when the Quran was being sent,
I will talk about how this problem emerged and how it branched out later when the topic comes to it.

There were evening talks at Daru’n-Nedve.

There were evening talks at Daru’n-Nedve, the political center of mushriks in Mecca.
People used to give lectures in these gatherings.

These lectures were actually forged hadiths. “Hadith" means something that emerges later.
Something that does not exist before but emerges later. It is the opposite of "Kadim".

"Kadim" means old, and "hadis" means something which had not existed before and came into existence later.

For that reason, Quran is the first source for us to understand the Jahiliyyah. Let's look at the 7-13th verses of Surah Al-Qalam (which tells us about the morality of shirk society)

The shirk society call those who invite people to read the Quran 'deviant'(68:7).
This type looks familiar to you, right?

They reverse hidayah and dalalah.
"Mukezzib: means liar", their religion is a lie, they obey lies (68:8).

I do not translate the verses here word by word,
I summarize what they say.
They are flatterers and toadies, “tudhinu” means those who flatters. They are flatterers and toadies,

and they expect flattery (68:9). They give promises and do not keep their promises.
“Hallâfin mehîn” means this. (68:10)

They talk behind people, they are "gossipers", they try so hard to create a rift between people (68:11).

They prevent goodness, they're “mu’ted”, meaning aggressive and tyrant (68:12).

“Utullin”; they're merciless, rude and ill-mannered. “Zenîm” they're dishonest tricksters (68:13).

You see what kind of people they are? Can you imagine? The shirk society call those who invite people to read the Quran 'deviant.

They're liars, their religion and faith are based on lies, they're flatterers, toadies,
they make and break promises, they talk behind people,

create rifts between people, they prevent the good, they're aggressive, tyrant, merciless, rude, ill-mannered, dishonest tricksters.

What type of a man!

You can find this type in all periods of time.
If you're thinking what kind of a type was the Jahiliyyah mushriks, you should read the 7-13th verses of Surah Al-Qalam.

Who is this? They call him 'the sheikh of Mecca'. You know, the sheikh of Mecca is Walid ibn al-Mughirah

He preaches. He has followers. He has a serious number of followers. He is the sheikh of Mecca.

When people are at odd with each other, they go to this man.
This man solves their conflicts. He gives people advices.

Remember I referred to İbn-i Sa’d’s Tabakât before.

He says; don't slaughter the sacrificial animals that you bought with the money you stole from other people…

I mean, he has a sort of delicacy, an idea of 'halal' in his own way.
Yes, in the 10th verse there is a word “kulle”, and it means "all".

Therefore, these verses cannot be boiled down to just one person.

We have discussed shirk as a type of immorality.

I want to briefly discuss hypocrisy as another type of immorality, too.
We are handling the topic of Jahiliyyah shirk society's morality.

Our lesson is called Siretu’l Quran. Quran's life journey.

We are talking about the morality during the age of Jahiliyyah and seeing munafiqeen, nifaq and hypocrisy as a form of morality and immorality.

Munafiq; those who -for self-interest- live in accordance with the religion of their society instead of the religion of their ancestors.
See: mushriks live in accordance with the religion of their ancestors, and munafiqs live in accordance with the religion of their society.

Can you see why nifaq has come out of Medina? The mushriks of Medina were munafiqs in Medina.

Why?

Because they live in accordance with the society and claim "I followed the crowd".
Because munafiq is a slave of his own interests.

Just like Abu Lahab. If Abu Lahab could go to Medina, he would be a munafiq.
He was a mushrik because he lived in Mecca.

If he could go to Medina or if he was from Medina, he would be a munafiq.
If he was in the place of Abdullah bin Ubeyy bin Selûl, he would be the leader of munafiqs.

And if Abdullah bin Ubeyy bin Selûl was from Medina
and not from Khazraj, he would have been like Abu Lahab. We know that Abu Lahab was this kind of a man.

He does not go to the Battle of Bard himself, he sends legionaries.
That is to say, he is not brave enough o fight a belief he rejects and opposes to.

And he is not honest enough to fight. That's why he is that kind of a man.
He is a kind of man who obeys the religion of society instead the religion of his ancestors.

I apologize to all of you, but he is he kind of man who visits brothels. Why, who am I talking about?

I'm talking about Abdullah bin Ubeyy bin Selûl who had a brothel in Medina!
He had six women working,

and even the names of these women are known.

I hadn't mentioned the almost thirty brothel tents in Mecca. Maybe I should have talked about the sexual morality of Mecca mushriks. But I didn't deem it necessary.

Because our problem today is much deeper than that.
Because of that, I want to address the reasons, the first reasons.

Abdullah bin Ubeyy bin Selûl is the leader of the munafiqs in Medina.
Who is this man? The man who slandered the spouse of Allah's Prophet!

The man who slandered Hazrat Aisha!

Who is this man? This is the man who came to the Battle of Uhud to fight and convinced 300 people not to fight. He is one of the reasons of the defeat in the Battle of Uhud.

One of the reasons of the defeat in the Battle of Uhud. Do you know who this man is?

This is the man who bequeathed to be shrouded with the Prophet's cloak after he died!

And he was behind in the Messenger of Allah in every salah...

The Messenger of Allah gives a sermon. Whenever he gives a sermon, this man is always like:

"People, Muhammad tells the truth, believe in his words."
As if it's his duty. I mean, there is a man who says, 'follow his words'.

Therefore, when he says, 'follow his words', he is giving an order.
There is a man who is on a higher pedestal than the Prophet, and that's Abdullah bin Ubeyy bin Selûl!

Am I clear enough? This is what is means to be a munafiq.

Therefore, his cloak is longer than everyone's, like propped-up timbers.
“Keennehum huşubun musennede” The 4th verse of Surah Al-Munafiqun.

The verse says: "propped-up timbers" for these kinds of people. Meaning, they are empty, and unable to stand up on their own!
They have imamahs on their heads, but their heads are empty,
they have beards on their faces but their faceless,

they have cloaks but there is no man in that cloak.

Therefore, they have a shape but have no soul filling in that shape. For that reason, they can hide themselves well.
Even the Prophet cannot know who is munafiq.

This is a verse, do you know? “You do not know them.” (Surah At-Tawbah 9:101)
So, you will say where do we put these hadiths?

(According to the rumors) The Messenger of Allah gave the munafiqs some news, and even a list!
Where do we put these? "You do not know them," says the verse.

Yes, let's put them aside. Because they're useless anyway, they are fabricated to fight against Quran.
They forged these, so they could get somewhere with them.

They will say 'he knows the Al-Ghaib' for some people. They
will say 'he knows what is in our hearts' for others.
They will say these kind of things...

They have already paved the way for these lies.
Therefore, these people never had to intention to praise the Messenger of Allah.

They build masjids, but they use slanders as weapons!
When you look at Surah At-Tawbah it says: “mescid-i dırâr:harmful masjid”
(9:107).

Yes, they had a masjid built in Medina. A man called Abu Amir had his men build it.
But that masjid has all kinds of fitnah, all kinds of shirk,

all kinds of corruption. Would a prophet have a masjid demolished?
So, isn't there any masjids like that today?

So, where is the man who will have it demolished?
You those who talk so much about "sunnah"...
It is a sunnah to demolish some masjids.

Have you ever seen a man who did this "sunnah"?

“Hatred has already appeared from their mouths, and what their breasts conceal is greater.” (Surah Ali 'Imran 3:118).

Now we have come to the second place: The revolution Quran has made in the Jahiliyyah morality.
The first part was the Jahiliyyah shirk society's morality.

This is the question: Which floor of the building of religion is morality?

The answer of Quran is; “main floor”.
The answer of fabricated religion is;
“after creed and ibadah” meaning “half storey”!

Therefore, they can live with or without it!

Why? Does real morality come after creed and ibadah?

Religion is an organization to reinforce morality.

A religion without morality is useless. Useless!
The purpose of religion is to reinforce morality.

Can't you see the prayers? “İnne’s-salâte tenhâ ani’l -fahşâi we’l-munker: surely salah (prayer) keeps one away from indecency and evil.” (Surah Al-'Ankabut 29:45).

But if it does not, Surah Al-Ma'un says: “So woe unto those performers of salah (prayers)!” (107:4).

He who repulses the orphan, urges not the feeding of AlMiskin (the poor), those who do good deeds only to be seen, and refuse Al-Ma'un (small kindnesses),

woe to those performers of salah, says Surah Al-Ma'un.

That's it. Yes,

because mushriks also performed salât. Now let's look at its explanation.

All of these are the verses that was sent to us during the 23 year-long nuzul period of Quran.
Look at the orders: Do not become arrogant! Do not go astray! (Surah Al-'Alaq 96:6-7).

Of course, I'm not telling you the verses word by word, I'm telling you the orders and advices the verses mean to give.

Do not be arrogant! Do not go astray! That is to say, when man thinks he is self-sufficient, he can go astray.
It tells us not to become arrogant and go astray.

Do not destroy the freedom of faith!! (Surah Al-'Alaq 96:9).

“Eraeytellezî yenhâ abden izâ sallâ:
“Have you (O Muhammad) seen him (i.e. Abu Jahl) who prevents a slave (Muhammad) when he prays??” (Alak 96:9-10).

Do not destroy the freedom of faith!

Do not give, thinking to gain greater!

Yes: “Welâ temnun testeksir!” (Surah Al-Muddaththir 74:6).

Free the neck of a slave, provide food in a day of hunger. To an orphan near of kin; or to a poor man lying in the dust. (Surah Al-Balad 90:13-16).

Give what you give while your hearts are trembling (Surah Al-Mu'minun 23:60).

Turn away from Al-Laghw (dirty, false, evil vain talk, falsehood, and all that Allah has forbidden) (Surah Al-Mu'minun 23:3).

faithfully observe your trusts and your covenants (Surah Al-Mu'minun 23:8).

And in whose wealth, there is a right acknowledged for the beggar and the destitute. (Surah Al-Ma'arijc 70:24-25).

Keep your pledges and your covenant (Surah Al-Ma'arij 70:24-25).

Yes, these verses were sent to us during the 23 year-long nuzul period of Quran, the first years of Mecca.
Do you know when in prophethood these orders were given?

The verse about jumu'ah (friday) pray was sent during the 15-16th years of prophethood, the verse about haj was sent during the 16th year.

The verse about fasting was sent during the 16th year of prophethood. The verse about al-wuḍū was sent during the 22nd year of prophethood.

A majority of others was sent during the same time. If I count the verses about prohibitions and harams, they were sent during the same year.
For example, the verse about prohibition of gambling was sent during those times.

The verse about interest restriction was sent during those times.
If I count the other verses about prohibitions, they will be the same.

Now my question is this: what did Quran prioritize?

What did it put at the main floor of the building of religion?
Abdullah ibni Abbas says the building of religion consists of 4 floors.

He says: At one floor is creed, at another floor is ibadah, at another floor is morality,
at another floor is transactions.

So, how and in which order will we line up these floors?
What is at the main floor of the building of religion?
Generally, Islamic scholars place "creed" at the main floor of the building of religion.

That is to say, they put belief, faith at the core. Is this a correct placing? Does the Quran approve of this?
No, it does not. Surah Al-Balad is a proof to this. I lined them up a couple of minutes ago.

Surah Al-Balad counts four stages of the difficult slope.

To free a slave's neck, to feed the hungry, to look out for the orphans, to help a fallen man up.
“Sümme kâne minellezîne âmenû.”

And becoming one of the believers after doing all of these...
Here, the 2nd verse of Surah Al-Baqarah:

“Zâlike’l-Kitâbu lâ raybe fîhi huden li’l-mütteqîn.”
“a guidance to those who are Al-Muttaqun [the pious and righteous persons who fear Allah” it says.

That is to say, these verses are for the people who have a sense of responsibility, this book is hidayah.
Not “taqwen li’l-muhtedîn: taqwa for those who have achieved hidayah”, but hidayah for those who have taqwa…

Taqwa is the foundation for morality. This is what I mean by responsibility. Yes,
“We inneke le’alâ huluqin azîm.” See, we came to it.

The word "morality" is used once in Quran. But all of Quran
is about morality. If we are to

deduce how much a book gives importance to a word by looking at how often it uses that word, then that would be a huge misunderstanding.

Then we would be saying 'the one who writes a book about
morality is the most moral person',
wouldn't we? But he is not the most moral person.

Or we would be saying, 'the one who keep on saying morality, the one who most uses the word morality is the most moral person', wouldn't we? But it is not like that. It's not that easy, you know.

Every verse of Quran is about morality. But the only verse that uses the word morality is this verse:

“We inneke le’alâ huluqin azîm: And indeed, you are of a great moral character.” (Surah Al-Qalam 68:4).

Who does it speak to? To the messenger of Allah, our dear Prophet. There is “inne” at the beginning. İnne edatı ismini nasb haberini ref’ eden edatlardandır.

And another meaning of the preposition inne -it has a lot of meanings- is for ta’lîl. It is a motive proposition.
It gives the "because" meaning here.

So, what does that "because" mean here? Do you know why I made you a prophet? Because you have a wonderful morality. There are people who translate it as "nature, disposition" but it is not right.

Because if the word “huluq” came with a damma, it especially refers to morality,
it means morality.

I have talked about the words “hilq, hilqat, hulq, halq” that are used in the 4th verse of Surah Al-Qalam.
Surah Al-Qalam defines the moral and the immoral.

Shortly before we have talked about a type of person Surah Al-Qalam's 7-13th verses talk about, right?
Very interesting, do you think this 4th verse being in the same surah is a coincidence?

Very interesting. Look. Just before we've talked about what kind of a person an immoral person is:
He gossips, he lies, he is a talebearer, he talks idly, he is rude, disrespectful, rowdy, macho, the verses said all of these, right?

Very interesting, this verse comes three verses before the part where the surah defines an immoral person.
Therefore, actually Quran shows as a model of a moral person:
the Messenger of Allah.

Quran defines immorality, too. But it does not give a name as an example of immorality.
Why? Because immorality carries the same characteristics in every age.

You are going to look at whoever carries that characteristics in every age, that's the immoral person.
Do I need to tell you who these verses are talking about?

The purpose of revelations is to help the mind; the purpose of religion is to help humanity;
the purpose of ibadah is to help morality.

Yes, the purpose of ibadah is to help the morality, and the purpose of revelations is to help the mind.

Yes, helping the mind, the purpose of revelations is to help the mind.
How did we become like this, dear friends?

How did Muslims who believe in a Quran that counts mind and revelation equal turn into a type of people who walk all over the reason?

How did that happen? Allah's subject Mustafa? Where did Quran say it thinks of revelation and mind side by side, as equals?
The 10th verse of Surah Al-Mulk.
Yes, the ones who deserve hell will say:

“Nesme’u ew na’qilu: if we had listened to these verses, these revelations, if we had followed them but we didn't,

if we had used our minds,
“mâ kunnâ fî ashâbi’s-se’îr: we would not have been among the fellows of the Hell.” (Surah Al-Mulk 67:10). See, listening and reflection on the revelations.

Isn't this seeing revelations and mind as equals? Is there any other explanation for this?
Is there anyone who objects to Quran? You will say yes there is, but not here.

But there are some people, yes! Now, do you understand better why they object to Quran?
Do you understand the problem of people who think themselves as Muslims and treat Quran as if it's their enemy?

If people start to learn Islam from Quran, they won't rent out their minds to these immoral people!
If people start to learn Islam from Quran, these immoral people will no longer be able to enslave the people!

If people start to learn Islam from Quran, they will start questioning them, their true colors will show, their masks will fall off...

If Muslims start to learn Islam from Quran, these people will not be able to live off of Muslims like parasites!
They will not be able to exploit the Muslims for a lifetime, for generation!

Therefore, this is their problem. The purpose of ibadah is to help morality. That's its purpose.
Let's describe all kinds of ibadah, one by one.
Just before I said it for salah.

Salah protects people from evil and indecent.
That's the purpose of salah. Salah is a means to an end.
The aim of salah is morality.

Is it something else? The aim of salah is morality. Fasting
gives people a sense of responsibility, isn't that true?

“Kutibe aleykumu’s-siyâmu kemâ kutibe alellezîne min qablikum le’allekum tetteqûn.”
Its purpose is given here. Why? Why did Allah order us to fast?

So that we can gain “tetteqûn”, a sense of responsibility.
Hopefully, you can have a sense of responsibility.
In that case, the aim of fasting is to gain a sense responsibility.

I said that one of the basic principles of morality is responsibility.
I said the first one is information, the second one is responsibility, the third one is empathy, right?

For that reason, sense of responsibility is the purpose of fasting. All ibadat are like this, believe me.
They all have an aim, a purpose; they are only a means to an end.

Their aim is about morals. Ibadat are about strengthening human morality. So, is it like this today?

We have alienated ibadat from their purposes, we have eviscerated them,
and now we are face to face with immoral people who perform salah.

We are face to face with immoral people who do sajdah!
We are face to face with immoral people who perform hajj and umrah, Allah knows how many times!

How did we get here? You will ask 'do ibadat die?'
Ibadat dies too, they are divided into two as dead ibadah and living ibadah.

There is an ibadah that carries its performer on its back, and there is an ibadah that its performer carries it on his back like a dead weight.
For that reason, the people who do not learn the religion from Quran today,

the people who reduce religion to absurdity, the people who claim to be Muslims
carry their ibadat like dead weights on their back!
Quran is entirely a book about morality.

The first 5 verses of Surah Al-'Alaq is about morality of knowledge, Surah Al-Muzzammil is about morality of responsibility to revelation,
Surah Al-Muddaththir is about morality of messengership, Surah Al-Fatihah is about morality of servitude...
You can count more, I only counted four of them.

But all surah talks about a kind of morality. Quran builds up morality through examples.
All the examples told in Quran have one purpose; building up morality.

Very interesting. I look at it this way and I get really surprised.
I looked for the Jahiliyyah mushriks for so many times.

I told them you are the man, the man... So, even shirk requires a quality. Let me give you an example, you will understand what I mean.

Abu Sufyan ibn Harb was the leader of mushrik Mecca, right?
Once, Abu Sufyan went to the Byzantine Empire.
The dialogue between him and the Byzantine Emperor is now being transmitted to us in the resources.

He asks: “The one who comes to you and who you fight with, the one who claims he is a prophet, does he lie?”

He says at first: “What kind of a person is he? Is he a tyrant? Is he a liar? Is he an imposter?"
Do you know what was Abu Sufyan's answer?

It's not like Byzantine Emperor Heraclius can phone Media and ask them.
It's not like they will say 'I'm going to hear from the agency.'

It's not like they will say 'I'm going to go on the internet and run a search.'

There is a man who is the enemy of Muhammad and he asks him. You know what he says?

"No. He is not like that."

Here you go.

We miss the Jahiliyyah mushriks today! Yes, today's mushriks are in a much deeper sludge. For that reason, Quran;
teaches us the morality of self-criticism and repentance through Adam,

the morality of resistance against a crowd through Noah,

the morality of questioning through Abraham,

the morality of sacrifice and responsibility through Ismail,

the morality of sexuality through Yusuf,

and the morality of transition to authority through Asiya.

Quran teaches us the haqq morality.

It teaches us the morality of resistance through Moses,

the morality of power and rulership through David and Suleiman...
There is a morality to power and rulership.

Quran teaches us that through David and Suleiman alaihis salam.

It teaches us the morality of patience through Prophet Ayyub, morality of freedom through Anne. Let me stop here.

An academician said; "Freedom is not mentioned in Quran." Is freedom really not mentioned in Quran?
Have you ever read the Quran?

And this person is someone who we thought has read the Quran a lot.
“İnni nezertu leke mâ fî batnî muharraran.” (Surah Ali 'Imran 3:35). So, is it not mentioned?

Anne had said: "Ya Rabb, I have vowed to you the unborn child in my womb to be dedicated to you, freely, without thinking about what anyone would say, free from the society,

free from the family, free from the environment,
free from four dungeons of mankind.

“Feteqabbel minnî: so, accept this from me” she said.
Willingly, freely, “muharraran”.

Can you imagine? For that reason, one of the basics of moral behaviors is freedom.
If you are not free, then we cannot say whether or not an action is a part of your morality.

Someone who is being hold at the point of a gun cannot be judged for his actions,
whether or not his actions are moral or immoral.

For that reason, Quran condemned Abdullah bin Ubey bin Selul who ran the Medina brothel
and defended the rights of women working in there, do you know?
Yes,

Through Prophet Ayyub the morality of patience,

through Anne the morality of freedom,

through Mary the morality of honorable stance against lynching,

honorable stance against lynching…

All the mushriks in all the ages are familiar with lynching, they all lynch.

Because there is no listening, understanding, questioning, judging, acting fairly in lynching.

For that reason, first you lynch, then you find a reasoning!
For that reason, Mary is a symbol of “honorable stance” against lynching.

Through Isa Prophet, the morality of fighting against religious traders.
What did Isa (Jesus) do when he was going to Jerusalem?

First, he had toppled the cashboxes of the bankers on the way to Jerusalem, right?
There were bankers on the way to Jerusalem

They would convert all kinds of denarius and drahoma, meaning dinar and dirham, Byzantine dinar
and dirham into ‘shekel’, sacred Jewish money.
Is there a thing called sacred money?
And ‘shekel’ is not even a Hebrew word.

It was Sumerian money. Besides, the three-fourth of what we know as Judaism is Sumerian culture,
Sumerian mythology. Because of that, Prophet Isa was
turning the tables on.

“God has ordered you to not to worship anyone but himself, but you have turned this place into a bandit cave!”
This exact phrase passes in Bible.

“You turned this place into a bandit cave!” He again said:
“You look like ornate tombs, you are dead inside but your outside looks good!” Perfect…

He was turning the tables on… Why did they convert the money into shekel, you will ask?
The system was built in like that.

Meaning, they were selling ‘blessed Yasin’. They would bless everything and then sell them.

Blessed God, blessed religion, blessed prophet, blessed Torah, blessed, blessed, blessed…

Now Muslims' description of halal and haram is similar to this. See. Halal water! Let them sell a halal watermelon…

That's the only thing they didn't do.

Can you see how immoral this is?

How did they take a Jewish fiqh under the name of certificate and install it to Muslims?

They're making a lot of money through that.

Now won't these people object to this and lash out at Allah's subject Mustafa?

Won't they lash out? Won't they attack? But now we're way past this.

That's it. I care about Haqiqa. That's the only thing I care about.

When I need to talk about Haqq, I do not think about the consequences.

Yes, Quran discusses the morality of acting as a messenger of Haqiqa through Prophet Muhammad.
Quran is thoroughly a book about morality.

The third chapter of Jahiliyyah shirk society's morality;
the counter-revolution concocted religion has made against Quran.

What did it do? Immediately, Umayyad counter-revolution.

Muawiyah would say Allah's property instead of public property.

This is very interesting, friends, we shouldn't forget about this example.

Abu Dhar would say: “Ya Muawiyah, the goods belong to the “beytu’l-müslimin”, Muslims,

but you went and named the state treasure ‘Allah's property’.”

Well, it's pretty pompous, isn't it? He said Allah's property, he didn't say anything bad.

If he uses the words 'Allah's property' then he means to say; “Allah entrusted His properties to me,

therefore, this is our destiny, we are appointed to rule over you, Allah ordered this,

we can give whatever we want to give to whoever we want to give, no one can question us.”

That sounds exactly like Muawiyah!

Muawiyah said: “Allah appointed us as your rulers”.

In my book, "Imams and Sultans" there are details and sources.

Yazīd had said; “We are Allah's destiny!”. Again, Yazīd had said;
“Allah killed Hussein!”,

when Hussein's head was brought to Damascus Palace. Al-Hajjaj had said to Ma’bed el-Cuhenî;

“What do you say to what Allah has done to you?”

Hajjaj had cut Ma’bed el-Cuhenî's nose and his ears off, pulled his eyes out of its sockets, cut off his hands and his feet(!), and then told him;

“What do you say to what Allah has done to you?” Can you imagine?

Do you see how much faith he has in destiny!! What a tyrant!
“What do you say to what Allah has done to you?” The same mentality continues to exist.

Think of a miner,

301 people dies because of his neglect, because of the things he should have done but didn't,

they die right there but the miner only has one explanation;

“takdir-i ilahi”!

Is that all you have to say?

A man builds a railroad, a train passes through, and a flood comes over and destroys the land the railroad had been built on, 24 people die,

people say: “answer for your neglections”, there is only one answer they can give to these people; “takdir-i ilahi”!

An earthquake hits, magnitude 7.4, 30 thousand people die, 30 thousand!

Because of the neglections of the contractors, the municipal officials and employees,

and the government.

An earthquake of worse magnitude

struck Kobe, Japan, and only 6 people die. But in our country 30 thousand people die,

and your only explanation is “takdir-i ilahi”!

You can't take advantage of Allah more than that! You can't commit a worse offense to Allah than that. Yes.

Abdul Malik said to Gaylan ed-Dımeshki;

“What do you think about Allah giving us the state?”

They did the same thing at Gaylan. Yes, what do you think about Allah giving us the state?
That was an operation of the Umayyad, this is a counter-revolution of the Abbasid.

That is to say, they made a counter-revolution against the morality of the Quran.
Quran made a revolution in the morality of the Jahiliyyah,

and they made a counter-revolution. They made up hadith that rejects the Quran's morality.

“Memorize 99 words, and you can get into the heaven. Please your husband, and you can get into the heaven.

Memorize forty hadith, and you can get into the heaven. Every sin of those who repent three times is forgiven.

Every sin of those who do 40 good deeds is forgiven. If someone reads Surah Ya-Sin at the grave of his parents, all of their sins are forgiven.

The one who drinks the blood of the Prophet will not go to hell.

The one who names his son Muhammad goes to heaven.
Memorize the Quran, go to heaven, and take 70 of your relatives with you as a bonus.

Kill a lizar,, get 100 sawāb. The one who sees the Prophet in his dream won't go to hell.

Revive a forgotten sunnah and get a 100 shahids' sawāb.”

Hazrat Hamza? Oh, it's his problem.

“You go get a 100 shahids' sawāb.” How, for example: “Drink a piss of a camel!”

A forgotten sunnah. “Kill a black dog.” It's a forgotten sunnah. “Get yourself a jariyah.
Get yourself a child-bride.” Oh, but they have not forgotten this!

Eyvallah…

“You can get a 100 shahids' sawāb.” Is it possible to be a moral person in a religion like that? I'm asking you.

There's more. “Perform your salah, reset all your sins from that day!

Go to Jumu'ah salah and reset all your sins from that week!

Fast during Ramadan, reset all your sins from that year!

Go up Mount Arafat and reset all your sins in life.

If you can't do it, you have fate and Shafa'ah as a backup plan!

Is it possible to be a moral person in a religion like that? Why would you need to be moral?

Why? There is no need for that!

Because there are all these hadiths, you know?

And they're hadiths that are mentioned in the most sahih book.

We do not need to read them one by one. We have no time anyway. I have already read and explained them before in different places, in different television programs.

Martyrdom distortion and abuse! Look.

“He who dies in foreign lands is a shahid.

He who dies of fever is a shahid.

She who dies while giving birth is a shahid.

He who dies because of a wall collapsing on him is a shahid.

He who dies of diarrhea is a shahid.

A 100 shahids' sawāb to those who puke because of seasickness…”

That's a shahid, this is a shahid, those are shahids… those hadiths about shahids are very interesting. I had a look at them once.

And people said, "What am I, chopped liver?" and made up and added new hadiths.
What are we then, chopped livers?

A wall had collapsed on one of our people, add this to the list!

The one who had a wall collapse on him is a shahid.

In fact, there is no relation between martyrdom and death according to the religion of Quran.

In Quran, there is a phrase “Those who are slain in Allah's way”, but they are not called 'shahids'.

Because shahid is a name of Allah. It is mentioned 10 times as Allah's name.

In which was did Allah die? Hâshâ!

What kind of mentality is this? “Feennâ tu’fekûn: how are ye deluded away (from the truth)? (Surah Yunus10:34).

Yes, those who believe in those hadiths reject these verses!

“So, whosoever does good equal to the weight of an atom (or a small ant), shall see it; and whosoever does evil equal to the weight of an atom (or a small ant), shall see it.”

“Femen ya’mel misqâle zerretin hayren yerah, wemen ya’mel misqâle zerretin şerren yerah.” (Surah Az-Zalzalah 99:7-8).

Do you believe in these verses or not? So, how could you make up hadiths? I mean;

they have stoned the verses with stones that has "hadiths" written on them!

Second; “Every soul will be (held) in pledge for its deeds.” Yes.

“Kullu nefsin bimâ kesebet rehînetun.” (Surah Al-Muddaththir 74:38).

“He gets reward for that (good) which he has earned, and he is punished for that (evil) which he has earned.”

“Lehâ mâ kesebet we ‘aleyhâ mektesebet.” (Surah Al-Baqarah 2:286).

These are just alâ sebili’l-misâl… I mean, I gave you three valid examples.

I could give you thirty or three hundred verses.

In other words, you can't believe in these hadiths

unless you reject most of the verses! Yes.

The Muslim East abandoned morality!

“We don't go to heaven without our sufis.” (Ne’ûzübillah).

Imagine a person who promises heaven in a matchbox to his followers.

Imagine a person who promises to carry his followers to heaven in the pockets of his cloak.

Actually,

this type of behaviors is exactly like dropping atomic bombs on the morality in a homeland.

Alright?

These are like atomic bombs dropping on morality.

Morality is doomed to be destroyed there. Because people who live there already found salvation(!).

They don't need morality. They don't need to keep their promises.

It's not a problem if they set eyes on someone's possessions. It's not a problem if they set eyes on someone's purity.

It's not a problem if they are unfair to someone. They are already saved from hell! They have a right to heaven!
What can you scare him with?

Is there anything he needs to abstain from? Why would he abstain? Why would he?

Why would he not act immoral, can you tell me?

Why would he not steal? Why would he not lie? Why would he not slander?

Salām to the imam who asks for forgiveness for a 8 year-old- innocent

who has been killed and never stops to think “What am I doing”!

The executioner of dignity who tries to look like a moral person by talking about the right way to cut the nails,

and then immediately starts gossiping and lying,
salām to you, too!

The followers who find clients for his tariqa with the lies he spouts under the name of Allah

right after he reads these verses from Yunus Emre's poem: “The beater requires someone with no hands/the swearer requires someone who can't talk back”, salām to you, too!

The teacher of theology who has his students burn the books that oppose to his dogmas,

and then preaches to his students: “Seek knowledge even if you have to go as far as China”,

salām to you, too!

Salām to the imam who gets paid for having people perform their salat behind him,

with the taxes given by people, in the mosques built with people's money,

wearing clothes that look like a priest's clothes, with a close shave,

and then lashes out at those who devote their lives to Quran,

salām to you, too!

The theology professor who encourages his student,

who quotes from the resources in my books while writing his doctoral thesis,

to steal by telling him: “you can quote him, but you can't use Islamoglu's name in your book”

salām to you, too!

The religious bigot who writes “do not hurt even if you get hurt” in his real account's profile,

but swears and curses at people in his fake account,
salām to you, too!

Do you know that in Turkey

there are 9 million twitter users.

But there are 30 million twitter profiles.

Take out the corporate accounts, the rest is fake accounts!

What would a person do with these?

The local Taliban member, the devil in cloak,

who puts the picture of his sheikh on his profile,
and swear at my mother who has passed away 55 years ago

The lickspittle who, for a partisan insect, sacrifices a scholar, a thinker, an intellectual

to a perception operation without blinking an eye,

The religious man who boasts about not putting a single drop of alcohol in his mouth,

and causes his brain, his mind, his will, to go bankrupt,

The fellow who performs salat five times a day, but spouts slanders ten times a day,

and lies fifty times a day for the sake of Allah,

and thinks that Allah does not know about the sins he commits via social media,

salām to you, too!

The creature who says, “It's a sin to talk behind the dead,”

and pours dirt and poison from his sewer-like mouth to the living ones, salām to you, too!

I prefer being friends with a moral atheist,

rather than being friends with an immoral religious man.

Yes. Don't come to me with questions like: “Does chewing gum break the fast?”,

“Can a menstruating woman fast?”!

Come to me with questions like:

“Is a wudu taken with smuggled water accepted, will my salat be accepted?”

“Does Allah see the lies, insults, and slanders shared through social media?”

“Is a person's wage considered halal if he got his job by pulling some strings?"

“How many Hanafi imams are there in this country

who accept the fatwa of Abu Hanifa about paying people to perform salat for them?”

“Can salat be performed in a mosque

that has been used to launder money and built for hypocrisy?”

“Is a wealth acquired through corruption halal?

Can we recite bismillah for that wealth?”

“Can the one who go to haj with dirty money become as sinless as a new-born baby??”

“Is it halal to study in a school that had been done by a contractor

in exchange for increasing the precedent value of a land??”

Come to me with questions like these!

Shaybah had a beard and an imamah. Umayyah ibn Khalaf had a beard and an imamah.

Also, he wore a cloak. All of them did.

The Messenger of Allah did not wear anything different from them, not any sort of indicators that he is different.

Because he was not…

For that reason,

the ones who think these clothes are a part of religion,

and the ones who try to kiss the hands of hadji fathers who dress up like this…

That means if those influential mushriks from Mecca, who fought against the Messenger of Allah,

were to raise from their graves and come here,

people will line up in numbers to kiss their hands!

It seems like this.

Mohamed Ali Rashwan. Have you ever heard of him?

Yes, the sportsman in the picture who is at the bottom. The one who is beaten, Mohamed Ali Rashwan.

And this is a Japanese judoka. The final match in judo tournament in 1984 Olympics.

This Japanese judoka won the gold medal.

And this man won the silver medal. But he had deserved the gold medal.

His trainer said; “attack on his knees”.

But Mohamed Ali Rashwan never touched the knees of his opponent throughout the match.

And after that the Japanese people declared him a national hero.

They invited him to their country. And he married a Japanese lady from there.

Right now, he lives a happy life in Alexandria, his heart and conscience are full of peace.

My hero in this lesson is Mohamed Ali Rashwan.
