- Yeah, I'd like to see
some of those fishing

lures you've got

beautiful, isn't it, Harriet?

- First, tell me what it is.

- Well, it's a fishing lure.

You put it on the end of your
line, and it lures the fish.

- You mean they bite at it?

- Well, they strike at it.

- You see, you cast
it out into the water,

then reel it in slowly,
and the wobbling motion

attracts the fish.

- Really works, huh?
- Oh, yes.

- Oh, sure.

- Do you folks happen
to know Randy Bigelow?

- No.

- No, I don't believe so.

- Well, just last week he was
fishing at Willow Pond using

one of these Washburn Wobblers.

And on his very first cast, he
pulled out a trout this big.

- Wow.

Randy was using a yellow one.

bunch of those in your fishing

a bunch of lures,

I haven't gotten my hat yet.

- Speaking of lures,
my wife's trying

to lure me next door to the hat
shop so she can buy a new hat.

- Well, that's the way it goes.

Did you want the green
one or the yellow one?

- Uh, I-- I think

catch your limit in 20 minutes.

to leave the dock.

caught the trout a little while

Do you know his brother-in-law?

- W-- Well, no I don't.

- Well, his brother-in-law
caught a limit of trout in 38

minutes flat.
I never saw a guy so mad.

- Wait a minute.

I-- I thought you just
got these in today.

- Exactly.

He was using last year's model.

You can imagine what this

I'm just stupid
enough to fall for it.

- You have two of the warblers.

other one doesn't work.

they're not going to work,

But, well, you know, you just
don't want to take a chance.

- If you're not
a fisherman, it's

shop across the street.

I wouldn't want all the goldfish
to jump out of the tanks.

It hops, gurgles, bubbles,

call them "lures."

They weren't meant
to attract the fish,

they were meant to
attract the fisherman.

I think I like this one
even better, though.

- How 'bout this one?

It has sort of an
unusual color to it.

- Oh, yeah.
Your mother picked that one out.

That is, she didn't
exactly pick it out,

but she was the first one
to notice it at the store.

- How many do you
buy altogether?

- 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7.

- Says here that it's
guaranteed to catch fish.

Do you think that's true?

- Oh, I imagine so.

It's a pretty reputable firm
that puts those things out.

Did you guys ever hear of a--
a fellow named Randy Bigelow?

- I don't think so.

- Well, anyway, eh, he and
his brother-in-law both caught

the limit of trout in a
fantastically short time using

these lures.

That's according to the man
at the sporting goods store.

- Are they legal?

- Oh, sure.

Practically everybody uses them.

Very effective.

Just put 'em on the
end of your line,

just run 'em through the water,
and they attract the fish.

That's the reason they
call them fishing lures.

- Fellas, how do you like it?

- Oh, it's a nice dress, Mom.

Haven't I seen it before?
- Are you kidding?

I'm talking about the hat.

- How 'bout we talk about the
dress and keep this whole thing

Well, I better get going.

- Over to Mrs. Dipple's house.

- Well, I can't help thinking
of Joe up there fishing.

He thinks he's got a fishing

year when all us guys

went fishing up at the cabins?
