over to the club and play golf.

- Well, I am.

I'm just waiting
here for Thorny.

I thought I'd practice a little
putting while I was waiting.

- Oh, well, go right ahead.
Don't let me stop you.

- Harriet?

- What's the matter?

- Harriet, did you pick up
a water glass from here?

- Well, certainly, I did.

This is one of my very
best water glasses.

- Well, I was using that
to practice putting.

- Well, a ball might
accidentally roll into it

and break it.

- Are you kidding?

That's the general idea.

Well, not to break it,
but to putt into it.

- Well, here, putt
into this wastebasket.

- Now, there's a
real test of golf.

- Good for you.

A hole in one.

- If they made the holes
that big on the golf course,

I might score a little better.

Oh, you didn't see the
boys downtown, did you?

- No, I didn't.

Why?

- Well, I left some
pictures off the drugstore,

and they were going to
pick them up for me.

- Pictures you took?

- Yeah, on the fishing
trip with Thorny and Doc.

- Oh, I didn't even know
you took the camera along.

- Yeah, it's a lucky
thing I did, too.

They wouldn't believe
I caught Old Foxy.

- You caught Old who?

- Old Foxy.

That's a fish.

- I didn't know fish had names.

- Well, they don't usually,
but this is no ordinary fish.

He's a tremendous
big fella that's

been making a fool out of
fishermen up at the lake there

for years and years.

And-- [chuckles] Well,
you're looking at the guy

that finally pulled him in.

- Well, good for you, dear.

That's wonderful.

- Thorny and Doc
got real jealous.

They said they'd
believe I caught him

when they saw the picture.

- How big was the fish?

About like that?

- Oh.

Oh, I'd say about--

about like that.

- I think I want to
see the picture, too.

- Hi, Pop.

- Oh, David, did you
get the pictures?

- Yep, right here.

- Thanks.

You'll see what
I'm talking about.

- What's all the
excitement about?

- Oh, your father
caught Old Foggy

and took a picture of him.

- Old Foxy.

- It's a fish.

It's supposed to be the
biggest one up at the lake,

and your father caught him.

- Hey, that's great, Pop.

- Thanks.

There should be a picture
of me here someplace.

- Here's a nice one of you
sleeping by the campfire.

- Where's the
picture of the fish?

- Who's that girl
sitting on your lap, Pop?

- Let me see.

- Oh, that's not a girl.

That's my banjo.

I took the banjo along.

- I thought she had an
awful long, skinny neck.

- Where's the
picture of the fish?

- Well, maybe they
didn't print it, Pop.

- Well, I don't know why not.

I took it down to the drugstore
along with all the others.

- Here's a nice shot of
Doc cooking breakfast.

- Who's that
putting up the tent?

- That's Mr. Thornberry.

- Here are two
more of your father

sleeping by the campfire.

- Oh, that--

Thorny took those.

That's his idea of a big joke.

Where the heck is the
picture of the fish?

- Well, don't get excited, dear.

- Well, I know, but if I
don't have the picture,

Thorny and Doc will
never believe me!

- Oh, they're just kidding you.

They'll believe you.

- Oh, I thought you all
went fishing together.

- Well, we did.

But see, Thorny and Doc wanted
to get up at the crack of dawn,

and I figured I'd like
to sleep a little later.

So I guess it was, oh, about
10:30 or 11:00 when the Indian

stopped by and woke me up.

- The Indian?

- Yeah, Chief
Watch-'em-old Foxy.

[chuckles] Well,
that was his name.

See, there's this Indian
that's up there that's kind

of a guide, and he's been trying
to catch Old Foxy for so many

years, they nicknamed
him Watch-'em-old--

Look, do you want to
hear this or don't you?

- I haven't said a word.

- Anyway, we got to
talking, and he told me

about this place in the lake
where the fishing was so good,

so he finally took
me over there,

and we sat there
and started to fish.

Now, get this picture.

This old Indian
guy has been trying

to catch this fish
for years and years.

Well, I threw my
line in there, and I

waited for, oh, just a couple
of minutes, and all of a sudden,

there's this tremendous
tug on the line.

I knew it was a
monster by the pull.

Golly, I hauled him in,
and it was Old Foxy.

- Well, didn't Doc and
Thorny see the fish

when they got back?

- No, the Indian and
I went back to camp,

and we brought the fish with us.

I say we brought it with us.

We hauled 'em in.

Tremendous fish.

Well, we sat around for a while,
waiting for Doc and Thorny,

and we got hungry, so we
cooked the fish and ate 'em.

- You ate the whole big fish?

- Well, no, not all of it.

What was left, I
gave to the Indian.

I figure that was fair.

After all, he showed
me where to catch him.

See, the Indians make
this delicious stew

from the head and the tails
and the carcass of the fish.

- Why didn't he show that
to Mr. Thornberry and Doc?

- Well, he was going
to, but unfortunately--

- He disappeared into the
woods before they got back.

- Who told you?

- It figures.

- There was an Indian,
and I did catch the fish,

and I did take a picture of him!

- Well, for goodness'
sakes, dear, I believe you.

- So do I.

- We all do, Pop.

- Well, thanks.

- After all, you're our father.

[knocking on door]

- Oz!

Oz!

- Oh, hello, Doc!

- Hi, Oz!

I had a few calls to
make in the neighborhood,

so I thought I'd drop in and
have a look at the picture.

- What picture is that?

- You know, the
picture of the fish.

- Oh, oh, that one.

Well, gee, the darndest
thing happened.

- Oh, looked smaller
than you thought, huh?

- No, of course not.

The picture didn't turn out.

- Didn't turn out?

- Well, now, look, I
did catch the fish.

- Oh, I don't doubt
your word, Oz,

any more than I doubt that story
about Chief Scratchemold Foxy.

- Watch-'em-old Foxy.

- Oh, that's right.

Well, as I say, I
don't doubt your word.

But I wish I could
have seen the picture,

so I could substantiate
the story when

I tell it to somebody else.

You know how some people are.

- Look, Doc, I met the
Indian, I caught the fish,

and I took a picture of it.

I just don't know what
happened to the picture.

- I believe you, Oz.

- Then why don't you say so?

- I believe you.

- Well, hey ya.

Hi, Doc.

- Hi, Thorny.

- Have a little discussion
with Chief Eat-'em-up Old Foxy?

You about ready to head
for the golf course?

- Are you kidding?

I've been waiting for
you for about an hour.

- Oz just told me
some bad news, Thorny.

That picture he took of
Old Foxy didn't turn out.

- Oh, for goodness' sake, Oz.

Why don't you give up
on that phony story?

- What phony story?

I tell you, I caught the
fish and we ate them!

What do you guys need,
blueprints or something?

- Doc, can you find time
to give Oz an appointment?

- Well, I'd better
call in a specialist.

There's a fella up in
Ottawa who handles cases

of overdeveloped imagination.

- I hate to interrupt
you, fellas.

- Hi, Harriet.
- Hi.

Some more pictures
just came, Ozzie.

- What's this?

- The boys just brought
them up from the drugstore.

There were two rolls,
and evidently, David only

picked up one.

- Well, that's what I thought!

I was looking for proof.

Take a look at that!

- Wow!

Look at the size of that fish!

That's Old Foxy.

No doubt about it.

Boy, he sure is a beauty.

- Oh, gee, thanks a lot.

See, I told you.

- Wait a minute.

Where are you?

- Well, I took the picture.

- Who was this guy?

- Well, that's the Indian
chief I was telling you about--

Chief Watch-'em Old Foxy.

Well, he didn't catch the fish.

I caught the fish.

That proves it.

- What do you mean,
that proves it?

This is a picture of an
Indian holding a fish.

You're not even in it.

- Well, naturally,
I'm not in it.

I told you.

I took the picture.

What am I supposed
to be, a trick

photographer or something?

- You caught the fish.

How come the Indian
didn't take your picture?

- Yeah.

- Oh, because it's my camera.

He doesn't know how
to use my camera.

After all, I don't know
how to use a bow and arrow.

- You gonna play golf
with Oz this afternoon?

- Yeah.

- Well, just make sure
you keep the score.

- Look, let's forget about
the whole thing, shall we?

But I did catch the fish!

- Yeah.

Well, I got an appointment.

- Uh, see you later, Doc.

- Yeah, so long, Thorny.

Hey, Thorny, did you see that?

- See what?

- A flying saucer!

It was purple with
green portholes,

had a bright orange
flame all around it.

- Very funny.

- You could use a 7-iron.

There's a little breeze blowing.

- Where they got the pin anyway?

- The far side of the green.

- Oh, yeah.

You just about see the flag.

Now, this is the toughest
par 3 on the course.

- What'd you get
in that last hole?

- Six.

- Six?

- Yes, a six.

I was in the rough in
one, and the trap and two.

Three, four, I was in the
rough on the other side.

I shot over the
green in five, and I

chipped in from the apron in 6.

You held the flag for me.

- OK, Oz.
Don't get sore.

I believe you.

I thought you had a five.

- You want to hit another ball?

- What do you mean?

It's not on a bounce.

Just a little in the rough.

- Yeah, watch out for snakes.

Hey, how do you like that?

- Where'd it go?

- Dropped right on the grain!

- I can't see it.

- Well, of course not!

It rolled right over the slope!

It's probably sitting
two feet from the pin.

- Probably in the
trap on the far side.

Well, I'll go look for my ball.

- Better take a canteen,
just in case you get lost.

- I won't get lost.

If I do, I'll probably
run into an Indian

who'll show the way out--

Chief Watch-'em Old Golf Ball.

- Thorny!

Come here, quick!

I got a hole in one!

- Where's the ball?

- No, no, no, here!

- What'd you take it out for?

- Well, I wanted
to show it to you.

Don't you believe me?

- Tell you what, Oz.

Suppose we both take a four
in this hole and move on.

- What do you mean take a four?

I got a one!

- OK, suppose we
each take a one.

- Thorny, I tell
you, I came up here,

and I reached in and picked
the ball out of the cup!

I made a hole in one!

- Let's move on
to another green.

We're holding up this course.

- Thorny!

Thorny!

Thorny!

- Hi.

Did you have fun?

- Oh, yeah.

- How was the game?

- Oh, it was pretty good.

I made a hole in one.

- A hole in one?

Isn't that a little unusual?

- Oh.

Yeah, it's a kind of a
thing that might possibly

happen to a guy
once in a lifetime

if he played a lot of golf.

- You don't seem very
excited about it.

- Well, I was when it happened.

- It seems to me if
I made a hole in one,

I'd show a little
more enthusiasm.

What did they say about
it at the clubhouse?

- Oh, not too much.

- Not too much?

- Well, they were
laughing too hard.

- Well, it doesn't seem to
me to be the kind of thing

that people would laugh about.

- Well, it was the
way Thorny told it.

It was pretty funny.

- I don't get it.

- Well, simply this.

He just didn't believe
I made a hole in one.

- Well, I thought you
were playing together.

Didn't he see you?

- Well, he saw me hit the ball,
but it dropped on the green,

and the green had
little slope to it.

And the ball rolled
out of sight.

- Well, when you
got on the green,

didn't Thorny see
the ball in the hole?

- No, he saw it in my hand.

I got a little excited, and I
picked it up to show it to him.

- Well, where was he?

- Well, he was in the
rough, looking for his ball.

- Well, didn't your
caddie see you?

- Well, that's just it.

We weren't using caddies.

We were using those golf carts.

- Oh.

- That darn Thorny, he wouldn't
believe I made the hole in one.

The way he told everybody,
it sounded like a fish story.

It's getting so nobody
believes you around here

unless you've got proof.

- Well, I believe you.

Besides, I saw the
picture of the fish.

- I'm talking about
the hole in one.

- Well, if you say you made
it, that's good enough for me.

- Well, yeah, but
you know Thorny.

He wouldn't have believed it
even if he'd seen it happen.

- What's the matter, Pop?

Is Mr. Thornberry still giving
you trouble about that fish?

- No, no, no, no, this
is about the hole in one.

- A hole in one?

Mr. Thornberry
made a hole in one?

- No, no, no.
- Your father did.

- Gee, that's great!

- Congratulations, Pop!

Are they going to
put your name up

on that plaque they
have at the club?

- No, I'm afraid not.

You see, you're supposed
to have a witness,

and nobody actually saw
it except Mr. Thornberry.

And he didn't actually see it.

But I did make it.

- Oh, that's great, Pop.

- Only thing, though,
by the time Thorny

got through telling
it in the locker room,

it sounded like I made
the whole thing up.

I don't know what's
the matter lately.

Nobody wants to
believe anything I say.

- Don't be silly, dear.

We want to believe you.

- Yeah, sure we do, Pop.

- Sure, we want to
believe you, Pop.

We want to believe you, Pop.

- Thanks.

- What are you getting
all dressed up for?

- Oh, I'm just going downtown.

- You seem in better spirits.

- Well, yeah, I took a shower,
and I changed my clothes.

Now, I've been thinking
this whole thing over,

Harriet, and I don't think I
can really blame Thorny and Doc.

After all, they didn't
actually see me catch the fish,

and Thorny didn't see
the ball go in the hole.

- Well, not only that.

I think they're kidding you.

- Maybe so.

- Where are you going?

- Oh, just on sort of
a private little binge.

- Private binge?

- Yeah, you know where
Mulligan's Bar and Grill is?

- Yes.

- Well, about three
blocks west of there,

they've just opened
up a new drugstore,

and I understand they have these
tremendous triple-decker ice

cream cones.

- Hey!

What's this?

- Is this your car?

- Well, yes.

- You're in the red zone.

- I didn't park it here.

Somebody must have pushed me.

- Oh, now, please, Mister,
not that old story.

- Come here a second, would you?

Now, I know this little car
wasn't here when I parked mine.

- You mean that little car
pushed your great big car

forward?

- Well, that's what
must have happened.

- Look, why don't you just
pull your car out of there,

and we'll forget about
the whole thing, huh?

- I can see you
don't believe me.

- Look, mister, let's not
get into a big philosophical

discussion, shall we?
Just move the car.

- Well, it gets
kind of annoying.

All day long, I've
been walking around,

telling people the
truth, and nobody seems

to want to believe what I say!

- Well, that's the
way it goes sometimes.

You're dribbling.

- Well, I'll have move
it out of here then.

- Well, I wish you would.

The Sergeant comes
along and sees it,

I'll have to give you a ticket.

- Oh, thank you.

- I'm sorry to trouble
you, but could you tell me

where the drug store is?

- [chuckles] Are you kidding?

You're standing
practically in front of it.

It's right here.

- Oh, for goodness' sake!

Isn't that silly?

- I do things like
that all the time.

- You know, if I told
my husband that I

stopped somebody and asked them
where the drug store was, and I

was standing right in front
of it, he'd never believe me.

- Practically the same
thing just happened to me.

I parked my car here,
and this little car

came up in back of
me, and pushed me

right in front of the fireplug.

And I try to explain
it to the policeman,

and I know he didn't believe me.

- Oh, how embarrassing!

- Well, I can't
say as I blame him,

because it's such a little car.

Oh.

I swear there was a little
car here just a minute ago.

- Yes, well, thank
you very much.

- The ice cream is
very good in there.

- Yes, that looks delicious.

- Oh, I'm sorry!

Gee, I get ice cream all of you.

But look, have that dry
cleaning and send me the bill.

- OK, OK, forget it, bub.

- Hey, where'd you
get all this money?

- He ran right down
the alley there.

He grabbed all the money
I had in the register

and ran right out the door.

- Is this yours?

- That's him!

That's the man that held me up.

- All right, you.
On your feet.

Come on.
- Thanks a lot, mister.

That was a real
brave thing you did.

- I saw the whole thing.

The robber came running
around the corner,

and this gentleman punched
him right in the nose

and knocked him down.

- He was holding him on
the ground when I got here.

- When the crook tried to
get away and tackled him.

I saw that, too.

- No, no, he went
down from the punch.

I saw it.

It was a beautiful
right cross, and then

when the crook
tried to get away,

he gave him a
couple of judo cuts.

[siren]

- What's going on here, Murphy?

- This guy just held
up the jewelry store.

- This guy?

- You know him?

- This is the guy.

- OK, I'll take him around the
station house and book him.

- What's this car doing
parked in a red zone?

- Oh, the sports car--

- That's OK, Sarge.

I'll take care of it.

All right, folks, move along.

Show's over.

You heard the Sarge, now
get your car out of there.

I don't want to have to give
you a ticket after what you did.

- I tell you, I
didn't do anything!

My car was parked legally,
and this other car

must have come along and
pushed me into the red zone.

- Please, mister,
will you go home?

- Oh, hi, Rick.
- Hi, Mom.

- Hi, Rick.

- Gee, the news is all over town
about you catching the bandit.

You're a regular hero.

- Isn't it wonderful?

- But look, Harriet,
I didn't do anything.

I didn't capture any bandit.

I was standing on the sidewalk
eating an ice cream cone.

I happened to turn around,
and the man bumped into me.

The whole thing was an accident!

- Oh, don't be so modest, dear.

- I'm not modest!

- Somebody's at the front door.

David, would you
get that, please!

- I got it!

Ozzie Nelson?

- No, that's my father.

- Hey, Pop, there's some
people here to see you.

Oh, how do you do, Mr. Nelson?
- How do you do?

- I'm from "The Tribune."

- Oh, I'm very
happy to know you.

Here, this is my wife.

- How do you do, Mrs. Nelson?

I'd like to get a
statement from you

on how you captured the bandit.

- What brought him down?

Was it a left hook?

- Oh, no, no, see, I had this
ice cream cone in my left hand.

- Oh, that was a right hook.

Is that your favorite punch?

- Oh.

[chuckles] I don't have
any favorite punch.

- Hits with either hand.

You've never boxed
professionally?

- Oh, no.
No, no.

- Mr. Nelson, would you step
over here for a picture,

please?

Now, according to the people who
saw it, it was quite a tussle.

- Oh, well--

- Congratulations, Ozzie!

- Oh, hiya.

- Mr. Thornberry
and Doc Williams--

these are the people of the
press, the photographer.

- He's quite a man.

- You don't have to tell us.

- Can I get you over here for
another picture, Mr. Nelson?

- Oh, yeah.

- You know what he did when
we were on a fishing trip?

He caught the biggest
fish in the lake.

Old Foxy.

It was this big.

- How big, Doc?

- Oh, well I, guess
you're right at that.

- A lot of guys would have
brought it home, had it stuffed

and mounted.
But not Oz.

He's no showoff.

He shared it with
this hungry Indian.

- Here's a picture of the fish.

- Yes, sir, a hole in one.

I was with him when he made it.

It was a beautiful shot.

I believe he used a 3-iron.

Just a little slice, but just
enough to allow for the wind.

- Evidently, the band had picked
out the wrong guy to tangle

with.

- Yeah, thank you.

- Some of the witnesses
mentioned something

about judo cuts.

Are you an expert
at judo, Mr. Nelson?

- Well, no, I'm not
what you call an expert.

Naturally, I have picked
up a little information

from watching the
wrestling on TV.

- There he is!

His name is Mr. Nelson.

I've known him all my life.

- Here's the rod we used.

An Indian showed him
where the fish was,

but my husband pulled
it out all by himself.

- Come to think of, I
think it was a four-iron.

Usually takes a short back
and gets a lot of punch

in his shot.
There's a lot of right hand.

- Pop said he won
this in a bingo game,

but I really think he shot it.

- It sure is a good
looking set, Pop.

- Yeah.

Darn nice of old
Watch-'em sent it to me.

- Who?

- Watch-'em-old Foxy,
the Indian chief.

He sent it to me.

- Oh, how about that?

Did you ever try
any archery, Pop?

- No, not with a set like this.

Of course, we used to shoot
with a bow and arrow when

I was a little kid.

- It's not as easy as it looks.

It's kind of hard to
hit that bull's eye.

- I know.

- Lunch is ready!

- OK, Mom.

OK.

Wanna try some after lunch, Pop?

- Yeah.
