EPISODE 20

Are you really going to depose the King Former?

It's none of your business.

For once, I wished that you would let your child win.

I wished that I had the power to lead you

who went astray back to the right path.

"One's body is from one's parents, therefore keeping it sound is the beginning of filial piety."

I cannot continue the parent-child bond with you any longer.

I will not continue it any longer.

Now that I have cut my ties with you,

do not consider me your child any longer.

You dare...

You...

I will stay outside the palace.

Subtitles brought to you by The Princess' Man team @ viki.com.

Are you telling me that you really severed your ties with your father?

Yes.

I am sorry about what happened to the King Former.

How can that be your fault?

Are you going on an exile with the royal consort?

To His Majesty's place of exile,

no one is allowed to accompany him.

I worried a lot about you,

but you seem to be holding up better than I thought.

I've found out even tears are a luxury one can shed only when one has the presence of mind to do so.

Even though we've managed to survive after much humiliation,

we are not going to go down like this.

Now, what do you plan to do?

I'm going to stay at Seung Beop Temple.

Will you be all right?

To your question whether I can face off my father,

I've finally found the answer.

If Father continues to commit evil deeds,

I am going to stand up against him even with the meager power I have.

Yesterday, Her Highness the Princess

left the palace.

What are you talking about?

She cut her hair and went against His Majesty.

Where on earth has she gone to?!

She went to a temple called Seung Beop Temple.

You will go to see His Majesty the King Former, right?

I will not see you off on your way to the exile.

If we're alive, we will see each other again.

Since you will be sequestered,

it'll be hard on you at the beginning.

I've wanted to while away my time quietly. Actually it worked out for the better.

Your Majesty...

Yes, Noonim.

We are going to reunite no matter what.

Until your Noona and Brother-in-Law send you good news,

please hold out firmly.

I should do so.

Don't you think Father will watch over us?

Noonim!

Why do you look like that?

Did something happen to you?

Pretty Noonim, don't cry.

I was wondering why you wouldn't show your face when your Hyung-nim is going away.

You should be thankful that this Hyung-nim came to see you off.

I will try to get together a force to fight Sooyang.

Go see Grand Prince Keum Seong.

I've heard that there are still a lot of soldiers loyal to him within the Artillery Unit.

I will.

I will come find you soon. Take care of yourself.

Se Ryung left the palace on her own.

She cut her hair before her father

and has gone to Seung Beop Temple.

Subtitles brought to you by The Princess' Man team @ viki.com.

How come you've come all this way?

Why did you leave the palace?

Cutting off the blood ties...

How painful was it to you?

My pain at having severed ties with my father...

How can it compare with yours at having lost your father?

Return to the palace.

I cannot go back.

I will not go back.

After telling me to stop doing dangerous things,

why are you standing at the edge of a precipice?

I thank you for coming to see me.

Your Highness! Your Highness!

What is it?

Officer Shin is coming this way!

Go, go quickly!

If you get caught, I will not be able to bear it.

Please, please hide yourself!

What are you doing right now?

Stop!

Withdraw the soldiers.

Lest I might be with Teacher,

you've come running like this?

Just in case any outlaw is intruding,

I'm merely trying to make sure.

Look around all you want!

Your underhanded way of trying to catch Teacher using me...

Aren't you ashamed of yourself?

How much longer are you going to look down on me?!

Stop acting willfully already

and return to the palace!

Did you think I was bluffing

when I said I would bite my own tongue and die?

When I have severed my ties with Father

and thrown away my position as a princess,

do you think I still have something I'm afraid of?

Subtitles brought to you by The Princess' Man Team at viki.com

I will give you just one day's time.

I will come back tomorrow.

Be ready to return to the palace.

Try coming back

a thousand, ten thousand times.

I still will not follow you, Officer Shin.

I plan not to

be courteous to you any longer, princess!

If you refuse to return to the palace even tomorrow

what I will resort to...

even I do not know myself.

Yeo Ri...

do you think he returned safely?

Don't go,

Please stay with me, I should have asked him.

Teacher, why are you doing this?

Doing this, because of me, you will...

To hell with danger!

Follow me.

Your Highness!

Where on earth did Oppa go?

How come there are no customers today?

The one you're looking for so desperately... is here.

Oppa!

Boys will be boys...

They exact the dues for their face (=good-looking man will play).

Why on earth are you doing this?!

Are you planning to trail in all sorts of people you know here?

I will let her stay just for a few days.

She looks like a damsel belonging to a noble family.

Nothing bad will come out of this?

I will take full responsibility.

Bear with it just until she leaves.

He says just a few days...

Two days?

Three days?

All we have here are empty rooms... It's not like you're holding them back to ferment soy bean paste in them...

Don't even think about using some tact and staying here forever.

Thank you.

Thank you.

You! Sleep with me.

Sleeping in Oppa's room is never allowed!

Surely,

they won't do that for all to see, will they?

Unnie!

Ah Kang, have you been well?

Have a swig of this.

Like Big Hyung said, you've really gone cold turkey!

I admire you, Small Hyung!

What on earth are you thinking to be bringing here a woman who is not less than a princess?

Small Hyung, you two have something, right?

How did you get the princess out of the palace?

She left the palace on her own and was staying at a temple.

Huh? Why would one leave the palace?

When she can live in the lap of luxury all her life.

Cham!

To an awe-ful guy,

an awe-ful gal.

Soon, we will leave this place.

How about revenge? Have you decided to forget about it?

If I get together my father's subordinates, like I plan,

I will take my family and leave the capital.

How about the princess?

I will take her with me.

All the care you've given me so far,

I will not forget it.

Aigoo, this Hyung has really made up his mind, he has.

This is a humble place,

but rest well.

That I am with you, Teacher,

I can hardly believe it.

Let's go.

What do you mean by that?!

She is not here?

When I woke up, she was already not here.

Give me the truth!

Who came yesterday?

Nobody except you, Sir!

If you're hiding something from me,

you won't be able to live.

Really, I know nothing.

So? What result?

She is nowhere to be found.

What?!

Se Ryung is...

gone without any word from the temple she was staying?

I am sorry.

What is to be done?

When the relationship between His Majesty and Se Ryung is already so strained...

Now she willfully disappears...

Don't let His Majesty know,

but you hurry and find Se Ryung.

I will do as I am told.

Send some soldiers to the place of the royal consort's exile.

The princess may be there.

I will do so.

What do you mean the princess has left the palace on her own two feet?

How can this happen...?

I don't have the face to look at you, In-Law.

Even if she left, where could she have gone?

She will return on her own soon enough. Don't worry too much.

People are talking, as it is, about the King Former's dethronement.

On top of it, if the princess went against Your Majesty and left the palace on her own,

wouldn't it be like marring the solemn authority of the royal family?

At a time when we're having such a headache because of Kim Seung Yoo,

even the princess is giving us trouble.

Those not knowing anything would think the two are in this together...

We have to hunt down Dae Ho first.

Grand Prince Keum Seong, Princess Kyung Hye and the Royal Consort at their places of exile

will try hard, with Kim Seung Yoo playing the central role, to reinstate Prince Nosan*.

Increase the number of watchmen

and keep close watches on their movements.

Yes, Your Majesty!

Uncle!

Are you going somewhere?

We have somewhere to visit briefly.

See you later.

Don't worry about me and go. I'll see you later.

They're totally like a married couple!

I wonder what Small Hyung's appeal is.

Being able to bring a woman of that calibre to a place like this...

What do you mean a woman of that calibre?

She's not even that pretty.

They say the princess has left the palace.

The princess did?

W Why would a princess leave the palace?!

DOES THAT MAKE ANY SENSE? DOES IT?!

Why are you flying into a rage?

I just heard what people were saying.

Is the person you're looking for so powerful?

Moving the Artillery Unit without his help will be impossible.

The Artillery Unit?

Why move the Artillery Unit?

The Artillery Unit has cannons.

So, you'll blow to smithereens the palace where the king is?!

What an awe-ful guy! You play big, don't you?

It will get exciting.

Subtitles brought to you by The Princess' Man Team at viki.com.

Umm, let me ask you a question.

Go ahead.

By any chance, a commander by the name of Park Heung Soo, is he here at the Artillery Unit?

Park Heung Soo?

Oh, you know, the Dog Heung Soo...

The Dog Heung Soo is Park Heung Soo?

What do you mean a commander...?

By the way, why are you looking for him?

Ah, well, because he did me a favor a while back...

The Dog Heung Soo...

How do I know where he's holed up after getting drunk like a skunk?

I haven't seen him in a while.

Whether here or his home,

countless days go by without seeing his face.

You've heard him, right?

No luck today.

By the way, I think you're looking for a wrong person.

They said his name was not Park Heung Soo but the Dog Heung Soo.

We'll come back tomorrow.

This... this... and this as well.

Oops, I almost forgot.

These are my underpants.

Hey, don't you have any conscience?

For me, just this one piece.

Wash all the towels and rags used in the kitchen and drinking hall as well.

You're being too much.

It's okay. I will see you later.

Aigoo, carrying tons of laundry...

How did a princess end up like that?

A princess?

A princess? What are you talking about right now?

Ah, what I mean is, not that she's a real princess, but she is pretty like a princess. Isn't she pretty?

You said the same thing to me a while ago.

When I asked you who that woman was, you said she was a princess.

Unnie!

Let me go with you!

Heh? Isn't she that lady-in-waiting from that time?

Is she a gisaeng, new at Bing Ock Kwan?

Aigoo, Hyung!

Hyung, I'm sorry!

As you know, my muzzle is uncontrollable.

What the hell are you talking about?

About the princess...

I've let the cat out!

It's better this way.

Better?

What the hell is better?

Take her out of here now! Now!

A princess? You brought a princess to this place?!

I am sorry.

What is this?

She really is a princess?!

What am I going to do?

I treated her like dirt, what to do? What to do?

Isn't a princess also a woman?

Why all this fuss?

What on earth is your identity anyway?

Who are you to move a princess according to your wish...!

What if they think we forcefully brought her here?

All of us will be dragged away to Hansung Bureau.

We can't put her on a pedestal, we can't make her work...

If you don't want to kick only the princess out, you too take this opportunity to leave this place with the extra mouths, now!

P princess?

Why did you leave the palace?

I mean to sever ties with my father.

I am sorry I didn't tell you sooner.

I kept thinking I must tell you,

but couldn't bring myself to tell you.

No wonder.

That you're the daughter of the animal who killed my father-in-law and husband...

You probably could not disclose it so easily.

I've done a wrong that cannot be erased even after lifetime's penitence.

Please do not forgive me.

What use is someone forgiving you or not?

How much you must have suffered!

The love between you two

is truly cruel for both of you, isn't it so?

Now that I have cut my ties with you,

do not consider me your child any longer.

Your Majesty!

There is an urgent message from the Crown Prince's quarters.

What is it?

I am sorry to say this, but His Highness the Crown Prince has coughed up blood.

What?!

His Majesty has arrived.

What is going on?

Why did the Crown Prince cough up blood?

It must not be anything serious?

Your Majesty...

Royal Doctor, hurry and

tell me the Crown Prince's condition.

I am sorry to tell you this

but it seems the Crown Prince has suffered from this illness for quiet a while now.

How can that be?

How can that have happened?

Won't you do it right?

How can you work worse than the princess?!

In those clothes, she's not a princess, but a pauper.

Shouldn't a princess wear pretty clothes and eat lots of yummy food?

Why leave the palace and beg for this kind of hardship?

Whether a princess or a gisaeng, we are all people.

Treat me as a person.

Right on.

What should I call you?

Your Highness?

Just call me by my name.

What is your name?

I'm Se Ryung.

Even though it's just for a few days,

everyone, please take care of her.

Pshaw, didn't you say you couldn't trust any person?

Is that the same person who used to sleep sitting up nursing his sword?

Have you been sleeping holding onto your sword?

Not being able to lie down,

have you been sleeping sitting up?

There was a time

when I could not trust anyone, no one.

The arrow wound...

doesn't it sting?

No.

Sleeping sitting up with the sword, I thought

only if I could lean on someone,

that I would be able to fall asleep peacefully.

Subtitles brought to you by Princess'Man team at Viki.com.

Close your eyes.

With your eyes closed,

try clearing your head.

Tiring thoughts,

grieving thoughts,

mortifying thoughts, if you empty them all out,

sleep will come to you.

Until then,

I will stay by your side.

It's strange.

I thought for a while

sleep would be a friend who won't come visit me.

Please

dream a sweet, sweet dream.

What? Se Ryung?

Princess Se Ryung

has disappeared.

Are you saying she's not at Seung Beop Temple?

Whether she hasn't come here,

I was ordered to come and look.

This is a place of exile.

Not a place fit for a princess to visit.

Just in case

if the princess comes,

please let me know.

Thinking what you're planning has been found out,

my heart almost skipped a beat.

How can that be?

I have somewhere

to visit briefly.

Are you going to go see

that person who has sent you a letter?

Yes.

Since he says he shares my resolve,

I must see him despite the danger.

Please be

very very careful.

I'm Mayor of Kwangju, Lee Joon Hyung.

It's an honor to have you,

the royal consort, here despite the difficulty.

Why did you ask

to see an exiled criminal?

There has been Grand Prince Keum Seong's order.

Grand Prince Keum Seong...

Isn't the Grand Prince in Kyungsang Province?

I am following.

Grand Prince Keum Seong's order

and getting together the heads of those who will oppose.

Grand Prince Sooyang from every corner of Cholla Province.

Royal Consort, please be their axis.

Of course I should take it on.

Were you waiting for me?

How did it go?

Grand Prince Keum Seong is already making moves.

That everywhere there are people who want to do the right thing...

is such a relief.

Lest we might end up being disappointed again,

I am afraid.

What if we are pipe-dreaming about something that can never be...

If we do not even dream,

how are we different from corpses?

Seung Yoo must be making preparations within the capital.

So, soon there will be good news.

Like earlier,

just at the sound of horse hooves outside,

my heart almost drops.

Just in case

it's a message condemning you to death by poison...

This kind of trouble in our hearts

will endlessly tire us out.

However, I will endure this life

with the determination that just in case

I can end this life with you on the same day at the same time.

Your Highness,

will you please do the same?

Yes, My Husband.

What do you mean she is not at the temple?

Her Royal Highness

has suddenly disappeared.

Why are you telling me this now?!

I am sorry.

Where on earth could she, a princess, have gone to?

Isn't she, by any chance, with Kim Seung Yoo?

How would that be possible?

I've mobilized the soldiers to look for her everywhere.

How naughty...

When her dongsaeng is in his sick bed,

she dares to follow a man

and disappear?!

All this is because Kim Seung Yoo is alive.

Right this minute,

drag the princess and Kim Seung Yoo before my eyes, right now!

Yes.

She did not go to.

Princess Kyung Hye.

Use all Hansung Bureau soldiers

to increase checkpoint activity within the capital.

In particular,

keep the Mapo Pier vicinity where kidnapper Kim Seung Yoo's

trace was found under strict surveillance.

I will so do.

No matter what,

Kim Seung Yoo must be apprehended.

Yes, My Lord!

What do you plan to do

with Se Ryung?

Among the children,

she takes after you the most in temperament.

She will not be able to turn away from you in the end.

Why don't you stop aggravating her and let her be for the time being?

At this time when even the Crown Prince is ailing...

The Crown Prince will

not fail to recover.

At times like this, Your Majesty,

you must show even more dignified manners of the king.

That there will be a lot of people opposing you...

Didn't we already take that into account?

We will have to bring Hwang*

who is with your family.

[Hwang a/k/a Grand Prince Haeyang. - Sejo's second son, later King Yejong]

Do you miss Hwang?

Since he is feeling better now,

I will bring him here in the near future.

When I come back today,

we will be able to leave this place soon afterwards.

Until you come back

I will wait.

I will see you later.

Are you so happy?

Aigoo, this awe-ful guy even knew how to smile?!

We'll have to go around.

Aigoo, you're working hard.

Just a second, just a second...

Wait a second.

Why are you doing this?

At times like this, we should help each other out, right?

By the way, why are you all out and going through this trouble?

The princess has disappeared.

P princess?

A princess as in the palace princess?

That's right.

If you see an unfamiliar woman, don't hesitate to report her.

You'll get a generous reward.

Aish, where did they go again, just leaving me behind?

Aish, bad hyungs!

Look at these knaves!

Why are you doing this?

What's the matter?

Gong Chil Goo Hyung wants to see you.

Will you just come or come after being beaten?

I'll just come. Why should you work so hard to beat me?

Hyung-nim, we've brought him.

Aigoo!

Aigoo, what we have here.

Come in, come in.

Here.

Welcome.

Hey, what are you gals doing, not escorting your lord?

Escort him this way.

You gals have to work hard today until your waists feel like snapping.

These gals are to die for!

Here.

What a fine picture you make.

No need to get nervous.

Here, here.

Here you go.

Drink.

Drink it.

Aigoo, aigoo, you're a good drinker, great appetite!

You're here looking for the Dog Heung Soo.

Yes.

Is he here today?

If you go around over there, there is a pub.

Go find him there.

A pub?

Be careful not to be bitten. He turns into a dog when alcohol hits his throat.

Are you Lord Park Heung Soo?

Who are you?

Are you Lord Commander Park Heung Soo

who was under General Kim Jong Seo in Hamkyung Province?

Who are you?

Who are you to utter General Dae Ho's name?

You might not remember me,

it's Kim Seung Yoo.

My father's name is Kim, Letter Jong, Letter Seo.

Don't try anything funny!

General Dae Ho's family have all died!

Get lost!

As a child,

I have seen you in Hamkyung Province.

While firing a cannon,

you injured one leg.

I clearly remember

my father ripping his own clothes to

staunch blood from that leg.

Really...

Are you really Young Lord Seung Yoo?

Young Lord...

Young Lord! You've been alive!

You want to make use of the cannons?

Commander Park, you must help us.

With just me, it's impossible.

Aren't there Father's subordinates remaining in the Artillery Unit?

Everyone who served under General Dae Ho has been transferred to insignificant posts.

Everyone is hard pressed just keeping alive

and living with bated breath.

We've lost many lives fighting against Sooyang.

It's a dangerous mission, so I'm not going to force it on you.

Please

give it serious thought.

Give me some time to think it over.

I will come back.

The way you're drinking is so manly, comparable to Gong Chil Goo!

Here, here, bottoms up, drink more, bottoms up!

Hyung-nim,

now I can call you Hyung-nim, right?

Yes, of course, that's allowed.

Dongsaeng! My little bro!

Dongsaeng, there is no need for you to return to Bing Ock Kwan now. Bing Ock Kwan, that Jo Seok Joo, blockhead!

Hey, why don't you

subjugate this Mapo Pier with me, huh?

Fantastic, Chil Goo Hyung-nim!

Chil Goo Hyung-nim, Chil Goo Hyung-nim!

But Dongsaeng,

at Bing Ock Kwan,

I saw a lass that I haven't seen before.

Who is that?

She's kind of pretty and she was going back and forth in a lady-in-waiting's dress.

Ahhh, the princess, princess?!

Hyung-nim, don't worry! She'll be gone in no time, in no time!

Is she a princess?!

That woman is a princess?!

Hyung-nim, I meant she's pretty like a princess.

Dongsaeng, say it as it is.

Is she a princess or a woman like a princess?

My Lord!

Gong Chil Goo is here again.

Gong Chil Goo?

Turn him away.

Really just turn me away?

You're going to regret this.

I've brought you a jumbo bone.

Get out.

Where did he say the princess was... I'm sure I've heard it but...

Aigoo, you must have been in such a hurry.

Then, I can sit here, right?

Where?

Where is she?!

You must not wash it so gratingly.

Oh? Mother said that much water will make porridge rice!

Happy now?

Subtitles brought to you by PM Team @ Viki. Com All thanks to PM Team!

Is it good?

It's delicious.

It's really tasty.

This is rice for Uncle, right?

Ahhh, the princess, princess?! Is she a princess?!

That woman is a princess?!

That woman called princess...

Who did she come looking for?

I don't know who she came looking for.

But I saw that lunatic protecting her.

Lunatic?

You know, the lunatic of few words, and good with the sword.

Wearing black all over, there is such a whacko.

We are ready.

Do you think the princess will like those cheap trinkets?

She is not a woman who drools over luxury goods.

Is that so?

Hide quickly! Hide quickly!

I ran off at the mouth! Hide quickly, hurry!

I ran off at the mouth.

That the princess is here... I've spilled the beans to Gong Chil Goo!

Hurry!

Hide for now!

Subtitles brought to you by The Princess' Man team @ viki.com

I've heard that

the person I'm looking for is here.

I don't know who you are talking about.

If it's revealed that you've hidden her,

none of you will get off easily.

Turn this place inside out!

Yes!

Hurry, hurry.

Let's go.

I think we'll have to climb over this wall.

With the child?

No, this won't do.

I'll have to give myself up to put an end to this situation.

Heh? You're going to go out there now?

If you get caught now, it might be the end of your relationship with Small Hyung.

I cannot cause trouble to the Bing Ock Kwan family.

I must go out before it becomes too late.

Unnie!

Please relay this message to Teacher.

Even though unavoidably I have to return to the palace now, that I will come back to his side no matter what.

Don't lose heart because of me,

but that he should carry out his big plans.

I understand.

I will not fail to relay your message.

Please don't leave him alone.

Unnie!

Please don't go! OK?

This is an insolent bunch who have harbored a criminal.

Destroy this place!

YES!

What the hell are you doing?!

Kill me first, you bastards, kill me!

Unnie, why are you doing this? You'll get into more trouble this way!

What are you waiting for?!

YES!

Stop already.

So, now, you show your face?

I drifted into this place on my own, so I will leave this place the same way.

These people do not know who I am. Don't cause any more damage to this place.

If you promise me that, I will return to the palace as you wish.

Didn't you hear me?

Didn't I order you to demolish this place?!!

What do you think you're doing?!

This place is Kim Seung Yoo's hideout.

Break everything until he shows his face!

YES!

OFFICER SHIN!

Escort the princess from this place!

Let go of me!

LET ME GO!

I said unhand me!

I will take you to the palace.

What are you doing to innocent people?

Stop this minute, stop!

Only after catching Kim Seung Yoo

I will stop.

When it comes to being vicious to innocent people,

you really are not any different from my father.

Put the princess on the horse!

Yes!

Father...

What is it?

Please forgive Sister.

It's not something you should be concerned about.

If even Sister turns her back to you,

you will become really lonely, Father.

I have you, though.

Don't worry about anything.

Just focus on getting better.

I am sorry.

Your Majesty, the princess is on her way back.

How can you

be in your right mind?

Where on earth have you been?

Were you really with Kim Seung Yoo?

I have already cut ties with Father.

Se Ryung.

Please do not go against your father.

He will not forgive you any more.

Your Highness Queen, His Majesty has...

Everyone, get out.

Your Majesty...

I said leave!

Hyung! Why are you coming only now?

The Princess

voluntarily left to spare us.

To where? Who took her?

Some officer from Hansung Bureau.

Her Highness asked me to make sure and relay this message to you.

That she'll come back to you no matter what, so you should not lose heart

but put your big plans into action.

Where's Kim Seung Yoo?

I cannot answer that question.

Tell me the truth! Where is Kim Seung Yoo?

I said I cannot tell you.

Will you answer me

when you see those who'd harbored you and Kim Seung Yoo losing their heads before your eyes?!

Do you want to shed yet more innocent blood?

How much longer are you going to continue your bloody vice?

Will your sins have to be visited upon your children

for you to mend your ways?

You...

Are you trying to team up with Kim Seung Yoo to kill me?

If you want to cut your ties to me so bad, okay, I will sever them for you.

Officer Shin, come in!

There will not be a wedding between you and a princess.

You are no longer a princess.

You shall become.

Officer Shin's slave.
