Episode 16.

Finally!

Aigo, it's the king!

You've come all this way to greet me!

The king?

Right.

He is the king, isn't he?

Please return home safely.

You have so much to look forward to.

Saying that is a waste of breath.

All the wealth, grandeur and glory in the world are in your hands, Prince Onnyung.

Wealth, grandeur and glory?!

You've had many hardships.

What hardships?

Your Majesty,

sleep soundly and I will see you tomorrow.

Who are you?

I've come to

slay you, Prince Onnyung.

Who in the world... Who in the world are you?

Kim Seung Yoo!

That name...

does not exist in this world any more!

Indeed, it is a good day.

Now there is nothing to stop you.

Dae Ho: Kim Jong Seo's nickname.

Your Excellency,

we heartily congratulate you.

I heard that His Majesty has revealed his intention to cede the throne to you.

Since I have not accepted his offer yet,

you must not act rashly.

Father,

why don't you stop making me feel antsy and snap up the offer?

What if His Majesty takes back the order?

Se Jung!

Soong.

Yes, Father.

At least to you, I didn't want to hand down the woes of a royal clan member.

I know, Father.

Thank you.

Where's your sister?

She said she had a migraine.

So I told her to turn in early.

Well, let's go inside.

Agasshi, they say His Excellency may become the king soon.

It's a happy thing, so why are you like this?

I need him not because of love, which is a luxury I can't afford.

It's because I have to protect myself and the Crown Prince

from your father who eyes the throne at every given opportunity.

What do you mean he's eyeing the throne?

Are you saying my father will harm you and the Crown Prince who are his niece and nephew?

Except you and me,

the whole world knows about it.

I guess you stilll do not know

the true face of your father.

Disguising it as an exile, he killed all his enemies including myself

in one blow.

Now you're here.

Don't leave this place unattended whenever you want.

Unless you want to be sent packing.

I understand.

Open the door!

I have an urgent message for the Grand Prince.

Open up quickly!

Open the door!

An urgent message for the Grand Prince!

Hurry and open up!

Open the door!

An urgent message for the Grand Prince!

Your Excellency. Open the door!

Open the door!

An urgent message for the Grand Prince! Quickly open the door.

What's going on?

Officer Shin sent me.

He bade me to relay the news

of an unfortunate event that took place earlier.

What do you mean an unfortunate event?

Prince Onnyung was ambushed by some assassin and lost his life.

What did you say?

Whose doing is this?

We do not know yet.

But...

But? What else is there?

On Prince Onnyung's clothes

there was something written in blood.

What was written?

The words.

Dae Ho

were written there.

Dae Ho?

It really said Dae Ho?

Yes.

He said it was written in blood on the clothes of the late Prince Onnyung.

It's bloodcurdling!

But what does Dae Ho mean, Miss?

His Excellency seemed very surprised.

If only I can kill all of you

and avenge my family's deaths,

my life...

is not important.

It's that person.

Pardon?

Grand Prince Sooyang is here.

How gruesome... Why is this happening?

Something was written in blood on the clothes?

It is the nickname of the late Excellency Kim Jong Seo.

His Excellency Kim Jong Seo? Then has the dead man returned to life?

Is the ghost of the wrongfully killed man taking its revenge?

It is hair-raising!

Kim Jong Seo even after death is Kim Jong Seo.

That old man is really powerful! Aigoo!

You are here.

Dae Ho.

What do they mean Dae Ho?

Just the fact that Prince Onnyung has passed away is baffling and

they say it was Dae Ho!

It's a scheme to stir up the subjects using the name of the late Kim Jong Seo

and to threaten you, Grand Prince.

Or it may be a warning.

Is there really no evidence?

All we know so far is that it was done

by someone who knows how to use the sword properly.

No matter how you look at it,

it seems like the act of the power behind Miss Se Ryung's abduction.

If so, then we don't know whose turn it will be the next time!

Those rogues' swords are,

in the end, pointed toward me.

For the time being, Myun, you have to guard the Grand Prince.

Yes, Father.

Not only me, but for the safety of all these gentlemen here,

Officer Shin, you take charge.

I will mobilize the soldiers at Hansung Bureau.

More than anything, you must hurry and accept the throne

and enter the palace.

The forces of darkness that cannot openly reveal themselves

are kicking and thrashing.

To them, the fact that you have not acceded to the throne yet

would look like a weak spot.

If you take the throne and

become this nation's sovereign,

what evil bunch would dare to menace you?

The royal secretary's words are so to the point.

Please do not decline any more

and accept the national seal.

Subtitles brought to you by The Princess' Man team @ viki.com.

No, this must not be done, Your Majesty!

MUST NOT BE DONE, YOUR MAJESTY!

Your Majesty!

Abdication is utterly out of the question!

Please retract your order, Your Majesty!

RETRACT YOUR ORDER, YOUR MAJESTY!

Whose vassals are you anyway?

After framing Grand Prince Keum Seong and the royal son-in-lawas traitors and threatening His Majesty,

aren't you afraid of heaven's wrath?

Watch what you say!

Bum Ong,

answer me with your own mouth.

Do you remember what you said in the past as you were asking me to teach your son Myun?

Didn't you ask me to teach him loyalty before knowledge?

After doing this, do you still have the face to see.

Great Kings Sejong and Moonjong in their tombs!

Your servant has mulled over Your Majesty's profound thoughts.

It is only proper to sentence Keum Seong and Jeong Jong to death by poison for their crimes.

However, I will follow your order.

Keum Seong will be exiled to Sang Young and Jeong Jong will not be punished any more

but allowed to stay with Princess Kyung Hye.

Even after the exile,

promise me and guarantee

Uncle Keum Seong's life.

As long as Keum Seong does not kick up a mote of dust,

I shall do so.

Bring the royal ceremonial seal.

Your Majesty!

Quickly!

Your Majesty...

Your Majesty...

Uncle,

please you must become a good king.

Do not do this, Your Majesty!

DO NOT DO THIS, YOUR MAJESTY!

NO, YOUR MAJESTY!

Your Majesty, please do not!

Your Majesty, do not do it, Your Majesty!

DO NOT DO IT, YOUR MAJESTY!

At last, your Father

will accede to the throne.

Really?

Really, Mother?

Don't be flippant.

In the future, you will become the nation's prince and princesses.

After your father's coronation,

there will be ceremonies for you too.

You must think and conduct yourselves properly.

Yes.

Yes.

Se Ryung, why don't you answer?

Se Ryung!

Noonim!

Why do you look so pale?

Is your wound not fully healed yet?

Soong,

Are you happy to become the Crown Prince?

I'm not brave like you, Sister.

I simply follow Father's will.

But.

If ever the chance (to rule) comes to me,

I will not kill people like Father.

Soong.

In the future, you will become the nation's prince and princesses.

Oppa, talk this out, talk!

How can you grab a customer by his thoat! Won't you unhand him now?!

I asked you a question.

How dare a pimp talk down to me!

I asked you what you just said!

The king has changed.

Grand Prince Sooyang has become the king.

Are you crazy?

To seize a customer's collar, where are you going now?

Where are you going?

I asked you where you're going? I'm your elder.

Move!

What if I don't move?

Whoever gets in my way dies.

Do you think I

will die by the hands of a greenhorn like you?

Love the look in your eyes.

You can't die like a dog when you have such a great eye expression.

He's a scum who unhesitatingly killed his own dongsaeng

and snatched his nephew's throne.

This one sword held in your agitated hands,

do you think it can dispatch such a cruel bastard?

Today, I won't let you go.

Hyung's words are good for you. You should listen to them.

Let's go.

A guy who wants to kill a nation's king...

I saved a scary dude's life.

Is revenge all there is to your life?

If so,

your life is too empty.

A dry life with nothing to laugh about, nothing to be happy about...

How will you live it? Without any joy?

If you were going to do this,

why didn't you rather die back at the island?

I have to kill Sooyang

so I can die.

You're living to die?

You...

Why don't you just run away with that woman?

If that guy is the king now,

won't his daughter become a princess?

A princess.

It's a place too high and too faraway.

Unreachable to guys like us.

So before that happens, snatch her.

Like the last time.

Run away to somewhere

and forget about everything

and live sharing your bed with her, having babies with her...

Living the life of a dad, burning up your fuse trying to feed and clothe your kids,

useless pathos like vengeance...

will become someone else's concern.

Let's live loosely.

Live in total forgetfulness...

That is such a dreamy idea.

If that guy is the king now,

won't his daughter become a princess?

Your Royal Highness, I am Professor Kim Seung Yoo.

It's a tremendous glory and honor to serve Her Royal Highness who is so infamous.

What a dogged fella...

My Lady,

These are tears,

tears of joy.

Isn't this the day when you are acceding to the throne at long last?

When I think about you getting out of this official's robeand putting on the stately kingly accoutrements...

Your Majesty, please become a king whose name will be long cherished in history.

My Lady, you too

please become a kind and loving mother of the nation.

His Excellency is leaving soon.

Please come out, miss!

Doing this, you might get another slap from My Lady...

Of course this is what you should do.

Whether you love him or hate him, he is still your father.

Entering the palace escorted by my son-in-law...

It doesn't get better than this.

Since this is his last trip to the palace,

you must take special care.

I will escort him safely.

Your Father has come a long way for you, children.

Coronation ceremonies for you too will be held soon. Clean up your surroundings and come to the palace.

Yes, Father.

Yes.

You are going to become the nation's Crown Prince.

You will have to show all the world that you're a great kingly material.

I will devote myself even more to studying the literary and military arts.

That's how it should be.

Are you satisfied now?

Now that you've forcibly wrested away your young nephew's throne,

I am asking you whether you are satisfied.

Se Ryung!

The princess's words about you eyeing the throne at every given opportunity were right.

In the end, Father, you coveted the throne and either killed or exiled your donsaengs,

and at last drove out your young nephew as well.

Don't use your children as excuses any more, that you did it for us.

Ultimately, it was your ambition and greed

that spilled so much innocent blood.

Noonim!

If you are so determined to misunderstand your father, what can I do?

Time will bring back the love between a father and a daughter.

I heard that Dae Ho has appeared.

Had the late Excellency Kim Jong Seo been alive,

how could you have dared to usurp the throne?

Your mouth,

can't you keep it quiet?

Don't incense your father further.

Quietly prepare for your coronation.

I won't stoop to accepting the title of princess.

Are you truly out of your mind?

I will never become a disgraceful princess.

Let me go, let go of me!

As for this nation's princess... There is only one, Her Royal Highness Princess Kyung Hye.

Only one!

I told you never to put your hand on me.

Let me go.

Stop being so stubborn.

Even if you refuse the coronation ceremony, can you avoid becoming a princess?

The moment the Grand Prince accedes to the throne,

no matter where you are, you will be called and treated as a princess.

Quit this puerile rebellion and

enter the palace.

No matter how much you try to run away from it,

you will become a princess

and I will become a royal consort.

By whose permission are you saying you'll become a royal consort?

Are you still pipe-dreaming that I'll marry you?

If you're willing to live with a dead body,

Please do so.

His Majesty is coming!

Are you here to escort the King Former*?

[King Former - a yet living king who has voluntarily abdicated to the current king]

That is so.

If he retires to Changdeok Palace,

he will be very much lonely.

You two

visit the King Former often.

Congratulations!

Since you reached that place only after so much sacrifice,

you will have to be a kind, upright king to the subjects

in order to wash away that blood.

Thank you.

I will bear that in mind.

You have to be strong and firm.

When His Majesty comes out,

you must show him a cheerful countenance.

Your Majesty!

Your Majesty! Your Majesty!

Your Majesty!

Your Majesty!

Your Majesty!

Your Majesty!

Hong Wi...

Father,

I'm here!

Proceed without any fear.

This Kim Jong Seo

will give my life to guard you, Your Majesty.

It's all completed, Your Majesty.

Your Majesty!

Your Majesty!

Your Majesty!

Your Majesty!

Your Majesty!

Your Majesty!

Your Majesty!

Your Majesty!

I am a person who lacks moral excellence.

Having assumed the heavy responsibilities the King Former handed down to me,

I have become the successor to continue on the monumental projects of the government.

At this juncture, it is only right to grant generous amnesty and

share this happy event with all the subjects.

I intend to show magnificent humanity and mercy

to the subjects far and wide.

Without you, gentlemen,

how could I have been here today?

What you say is right,

but without a superior general,

how can there be outstanding tacticians under him?

This is all thanks to the Grand Pri...

I mean, Your Majesty

leading us well.

It is not time to lower our guard yet.

Inside the palace,

there still remain those

who may oppose Your Majesty.

Bum Ong, you always keep me awake and watchful.

It's only the beginning.

You must show all the world that

you are a kingly material who deserves to sit on the throne.

Moreover,

You must prove that you are the rightful heir

who will once again usher in the era of peace and plenty

that the Great Predecessor King Sejong achieved.

I got it.

But at least for today, give me a break.

Since we've reached the top breathlessly,

shouldn't we take a breather

with good liquor

and with good friends?

I'm sorry.

Had Prince Onnyung been here today,

he would have been overjoyed.

In truth, I have killed

so many people to reach this seat.

I have asked myself hundreds, thousands of times.

Why do you want to reach that seat so much?

What about that seat stirs and boils your blood?

Have you

found an answer?

It is so foolish

to seek an answer to a question

which does not have any answer.

Now, now,

let us momentarily put aside these troubling thoughts

and raise our cups.

So Eng,

when are you off?

What you do mean off?

In this profession, we are off during the day and on at night.

Tomorrow afternoon, let's go to the market together.

What for?

This Oppa...

wants to buy you a hairpin.

Really?

I'll say thank you to that.

Let's browse the marketplace,

shop for hairpins and

while we are at it,

we can also put up each ether's hair (= become a couple).

AHHHH, AISH!

Don't think I'm easy just because I am a prostitute.

Aish, why now, of all times...?!

How am I to run away?

What are you doing? Hurry up!

Quickly...

Hyung nim!

Hyung nim!

Hyung nim!

Big trouble is here.

Gong Chil Goo or whatever, those rascals...

They are coming to attack us again.

Brother, come out quickly.

Aigoo.

Even Hercules

would hide just now.

Aigoo.

Brother!

Please forgive us.

We just can't bear working under Gong Chil Goo.

We want to come back to you.

Brother!

What?! They left to work under Jo Seok Joo?!

I got bitten!

I got bitten by my dogs, I did!

I was bitten.

These...

mutts!

Aish, SOBs!

Hey!

Wasn't the punk who came looking for me a while ago

an officer at Hansung Bureau?

What?

He said he was looking for those opposed to Grand Prince Sooyang.

This Gong Chil Goo-nim

should fetch him

some very valuable information.

To the house of Prince Onnyung, several days ago,

some guy came looking for Kim Jong Seo's family.

What kind of guy?

The way he acted

was like a lunatic.

You can leave now.

Subtitles brought to you by Princess'Man team at Viki.com.

Who's this villain?

Whose way do you think

you're daring to block?

What are you doing?

Get rid of that villain!

Who are you, villain?

Escort him away!

Hurry and take cover!

Did you also kidnap my fiancee?

You villain!

What is your identity?

Are you perhap...?

Over there!

Throw light on his face!

Seize him.

Catch him!

Are you all right, sir?

What?

Myun did?

If he got hurt trying to protect Bum Ong,

it must be the same person who killed Prince Onnyung.

Moreover,

I heard that on Prince Onnyung's clothes

were the letters Dae Ho written in blood.

Truly...

it was not your doing?

No.

That's good.

Thinking maybe...

What if I lose even you?

Teacher,

Actually, this worked out for the better.

They think you're dead

and not knowing who it is, they will be on pins and needles.

What is more frightening than an invisible enemy?

Dae Ho?

Who on earth did that?

When even Grand Prince Keum Seong is sent away on an exile,

who on earth is facing up to Sooyang?

Who it is...

I think I might know.

What?

Who is it?

Please wait a moment, Teacher.

Jong!

How did you get hurt?

It's nothing.

What do you mean it's nothing?

Did you really do that to Prince Onnyung and Myun?

Seung Yoo,

I think I misspoke out of anger at that time.

Give up on getting revenge.

I hate you being in danger.

When, Seung Yoo, you have already undergone so many life threatening situations...

Did you just say Seung Yoo...?

Seeing that you're bleeding from your wound,

you must be alive.

Seung Yoo, it's really you?

You are really alive...

Teacher!

Don't cry.

Don't cry, Seung Yoo.

This Teacher's heart is torn to pieces...

Don't cry.

This kid!

Don't cry.

How come your face that used to be so cheerful is like this now?

How could you

think of murdering someone?

Stop now.

I cannot do that.

I do not want to see you becoming a wreck.

Your father, in his tomb, must be thinking the same thing as me.

I feel as though it was my fault that you became like this.

Had your elders like me stopped Sooyang,

you kids...

would you kids have suffered so much?

Even though it is late,

your Teacher will take charge.

So stop doing anything dangerous.

I will kill him.

Seung Yoo!

Teacher,

go your way.

I will go mine.

Seung Yoo!

Seung Yoo!

This time, it's Bum Ong?

That's right.

He is formidable.

You haven't found anything about his identity yet?

We don't have any clue yet.

This won't do. I'll have to arrange for my family to enter the palace as soon as possible.

I will let them know.

You have to find out who's appropriating Dae Ho's name as soon as possible.

Yes.

Leave now, take care of your wound and get some rest.

Which ruffian...

Which ruffian

in the world is daring to do this?

Are you really going to go against your mother's words?!

Didn't I say tomorrow is the coronation ceremony?

Things have to be sorted through. Why won't you listen to me?!

Get out now!

So the servants can pack and clean up.

I said I won't accept the title.

If you're going to be so stubborn, you'll have to be dragged to the palace.

I cannot allow His Majesty to be the topic of malicious gossip because of one bad daughter.

His Majesty?

Did you just call him His Majesty?

Since he is the sovereign of this country Joseon,

it's only appropriate to call him His Majesty.

No matter what you do, I will not enter the palace.

You will enter it.

Why?

Like the time when you begged for Kim Seung Yoo's life,

will you put a sword to your neck?

Try it all you want.

You will see me putting a knife to my throat!

Mother!

Even your father-in-law

almost got killed by the one who murdered Prince Onnyung.

It seems even Office Shin was hurt while trying to protect his father.

When you see him, be kind to him.

In pursuit of your kidnapper,

it hasn't been long since he combed through the Mapo Pier area...

and now he is hurt from a fight with an assassin.

Subtitles brought to you by PM Team @ viki.com.

What?

She's not here. This was in her room.

I'll be back later.

My Lord, it's Ja Beon.

Come in.

What's the matter?

Gong Chil Goo has come to see you.

Gong Chil Goo?

A while ago, didn't you ask me to inform you if there were suspicious rascals at Mapo Pier?

I looked into it a bit.

At a bordello called Bing Ock Kwan,

there is a survivor from the ship that was carrying prisoners to Kanghwa Island.

Could you tell me something? How do I get to the Mapo ferry landing from here?

It's along this road. Just go straight ahead.

Aish!

Why from the crack of dawn...

That rascal! Where did he go?

Hyungnim,

What should we do?

You, slip out through the side door and find Small Hyung.

Find him

and stop him from coming this way, no matter what!

Eh?!

I will hold this fort somehow.

Ah hurry!

I got it.

Hey, Brother!

No.

Master!

The dog Master used to raise is here to bite Master! Come out quickly!

I will give you a proper bite.

Gong Chil Goo, you rat!

Who are you?

Let's go!

Over there!

Catch him! Catch him!

Over there! Catch him!

Catch him! Catch him! Catch him!

You've got to nab him!
