Episode 8.

There is news from the palace. Soon the king will be leaving the palace.

The D-day will be, like today, a day when the king visits Princess Kyung Hye's house.

It really is unlike you to do embroidery. You're going to give it to him?

Ouch!

That's why you should not daydream while you are embroidering.

I've seen many who mangled their fingers thinking about men in particular.

I wanted to make this for Teacher.

This won't do. I will have to ask Mother for new fabric.

Are you going to go to Chung Poong Kwan (the Blue Wind Pavilion)?

After the sunset, I shall head toward Kim Jong Seo's house.

One in ten thousand,

should something bad happen to you tonight, My Lord...

What should I and our children...

I am not on the way to die.

My Lady, please keep a tight control over the household

and take care of the children.

I will do that.

Thank you.

Kim Seung Yoo What are you going to do to him?

I will have to wipe out his children as well. Killing just Kim Jong Seo won't do.

I wonder whether Se Ryung will be okay...

All the more reason to kill him.

How will she love the dead?

If nothing else, for my daughter's sake,

I will get rid of Kim Seung Yoo, no matter what.

What is the matter?

Nothing.

Let's go inside.

His Excellency is leaving the house. You must see him off.

Agasshi,

what is the matter with you?

What is it that you're shaking like this?

Father, no, how can Father... to Teacher...!

Agasshi.

No, that cannot be.

Agasshi, His Excellency is leaving the house, I said.

See you later.

See you later, Father.

Father.

Where're you going?

You must have worried all night long.

Today, your father will conclude that matter for you.

Conclude? Conclude what?

Is it about a marriage proposal again?

Agasshi.

Agasshi.

Something's not right with Se Ryung.

Pardon?

Don't let her outside the house.

You'll have to keep a close watch on her so that she can't do anything foolish.

I will do that.

My Lord!

May no harm come to you...

Where on earth are you going to go? You will surely faint, if you keep this up.

Please step aside.

No. You may not go.

I have to go. I have to tell (him)!

No, Agasshi.

What are you going, pray tell?

Take the young lady to her chamber.

Yes.

Mother! Mother!

Mother!!!

You must not set even one foot outside the house.

It is your father's order, so don't even think about disobeying it.

Why won't you let me leave?

Please at least tell me the reason.

And why are you trying to leave no matter what?

Does father really intend to kill His Excellency Kim Jong Seo's whole family?

You must have overheard it all.

Then, you must know very well the reason why you cannot leave.

If you run straight to Kim Seung Yoo and reveal everything to him,

your father's coup will fail.

Our house will all die.

In order to save Kim Seung Yoo,

do you plan to kill all your parents and siblings?

Why on earth is father trying to do something so horrendous?

What wrong has that family done...

Shut your mouth!

This has nothing to do with whether they did any wrong.

Without either one of the two sides dying, this will never end.

I have told you repeatedly.

What brings you here, Inner Palace Guard Commander?

I have something to report to you.

No, a King should not leave the palace so frequently.

Hearing that Noonim is ill, I arranged my visit.

Even now, please take back your order.

The wicked flock will chirp about how.

Your Majesty is tied to his Noonim's apron strings.

Hearing your words, Second State Councilor,

I realize that I have acted imprudently.

However, all the arrangements have been already made.

I will stay there for just one day and

come back after checking Noonim's health.

Your Majesty!

This is the last time! After today, I will not visit her house again.

This is my promise to you, Second State Councilor.

If you feel so strongly, return safely.

In guarding the king's temporary residence,

you must not allow any laxness.

Guard His Majesty's safety

with all the force at your command!

Yes, your Excellency

When this family's life and death depend on your hand,

is it so hard to make up your mind?

My Lord,

His Majesty will soon leave the palace for Princess Kyung Hye's house.

There will be a coup on the day His Majesty next visits Princess Kyung Hye's house.

I am here to see Myun.

He has stepped out for a moment.

Is that so?

Look here.

Please relay this message to my friend.

On day day he weds Grand Prince Sooyang's daughter, I will gladly be his huhang*.

So don't be angry with me any more.

I will tell him.

I will return one of these days.

Do you think

you can point your sword at Kim Seung Yoo?

He left.

Didn't he say anything in particular?

On the day you wed Grand Prince Sooyang's daughter,

He'd gladly be your huhang.

So stop being angry, that's what he said.

Lord Officer!

I am Mae Hyang from Chung Poong Kwan (Blue Wind Pavilion).

What brings you here?

By Chung Poong Kwan's Lord Han Myung Hoe's order.

Everyone is there, he asked you to come as well.

Isn't Officer Shin being too late?

What if he doesn't come at all?

What if...

Officer Shin and Kim Jong Seo's son Kim Seung Yoo are the best of best friends, aren't they?

One in ten thousand,

if Officer Shin has informed Kim Seung Yoo about our plot...

That wouldn't happen!

At this juncture, you shouldn't trust even your own son easily.

Even now, send someone (to check up on him)!

My Lords, Officer Shin is here.

The Commander of the Inner Palace Guards

is on Kim Jong Seo's side.

As soon as the Grand Prince kills Kim Jong Seo, we will send you a signal.

Officer Shin, you take care of all the Inner Palace Guards at Princess Kyung Hye's house.

How come you are not answering?

I... will do it.

Whether we capture the king or not...

depends on you, Officer Shin.

I will not be at Seung Bup Temple for a while.

I exchanged my heart with yours.

And only now, we realize how deeply we've been missing each other.

You haven't eaten anything since morning,

Please have some.

Yeo Ri-yah.

Please help me.

Please help me leave the house!

I can't

I'm begging you! You will be saving two lives (KSY's & hers).

Please let me go.

What on earth are you going to do when you meet him?

I heard from My Lady

that Kim Seung Yoo... he will die soon.

No! Why would he die? He won't die!

I'm going to prevent it, I'm going to interfere!

Please come to your senses!

How will you ever stop His Excellency?

Never think of him again, forget all about him!

Yeo Ri.

Yeo Ri!

Ja Beon...

Yes, My Lord.

Tonight, there will be a cataclysmic event.

What are you talking about?

One of the two sides will shed blood.

I have chosen my side.

If you don't feel like it, I will take you off from tonight's duty.

I will follow you.

Aren't you going to regret it?

Select the good, obedient ones.

We will head toward the princess's house.

Yes!

Noonim, you don't look ill at all.

Brother-in-law, have you lied to me?

What do you mean a lie? The princess was ailing like a diseased chicken...

But the moment she saw you, she got all better.

What, a diseased chicken?

I had a headache, but at the news of you visiting my house, it disappeared.

It is a relief. If even Noonim,

my only remaining family, becomes ill...

Your Majesty, you too get yourself a queen as soon as possible.

More than anything else, a male has to get married to be treated as an all grown-up man.

How can you call His Majesty a male?

Stop using insolent words.

Brother-in-law, when you get so cruelly treated by Noonim,

how can you advise me to get married?

What do you mean a cruel treatment?

To me, she sounds as pretty as a warbling bird.

At every portal, there seems to be about three or four guards posted.

Commander, you are here.

Hey, Officer Shin, why are you coming only now?

Since I've been seeing so much of you lately, I miss you if I don't see you here.

You said you guard from outside.

So why are you making a round inside the house?

Have you seen Seung Yoo? His mind is probably troubled too right now.

No, I haven't seen him.

When did you guys ever drag out a fight?

Hurry and see him. Kiss and make up.

Maybe because they lost their parents and they are the only remaining family to each other...

They are so affectionate toward each other.

Who is?

I mean His Majesty and the Princess.

I wish everyday would be just as peaceful as today.

So that both His Majesty and the princess can smile so broadly.

Myun!

You are not going to the palace to work, but leisurely chasing after a woman's skirt.

My Lord!

I am off duty today.

A good marriageable lady has been found.

We have sent a matchmaker, so keep that in mind.

No matter which household that is,

I am not going to marry her.

What did you just say?

Are you saying you will willfully disobey father?

Just because of that one girl, who is not even from the nobility?!

Please watch your words, Hyung!

What?

This rascal, you still haven't come to your senses!

Unhand me!

What's the matter with you?

Father will be returning home soon!

The lady has been found after much trouble.

Don't see that woman ever again!

Brother-in-law!

Subtitles brought to you by the Princess' Man Team@viki.com.

She ran away!

We have to find her before she escapes!

Look for her!

Lock up the gate!

Young Lady!

Young Lady.

Did you get scolded by my father?

No.

We only had a difference of opinion.

Difference of opinion?

There is such a thing.

Lately, nothing is working out for your uncle.

I can't see the person I miss.

The person you miss... isn't that me?

Can I ask you

how to get to His Excellency Kim Jong Seo's house?

If you turn that corner and go straight, it is the biggest house you'll see.

Is this His Excellency Kim Jong Seo's house?

What is your... business?

Is the youngest son of this household... inside?

Who are you to look for Seung Yoo?

I am here with a message.

I must see him, please ask him to come out!

How... do you know him?

Father!

Are you Kim Jong Seo Excellency?

That's right Who are you?

She came looking for Seung Yoo.

How do you know Seung Yoo?

To him...

I am hugely indebted.

So,

do you have any business you need to see me for?

I have something to tell you.

Bring her new shoes

and courteously show her in.

Yes.

Have your returned?

Is something going on outside?

Father.

I have something I want to ask you.

We have a guest.

Young Lady!

Let me go.

Let go of me!

Yeo Ri!

I am sorry, my young lady is a little bit ill.

Hurry. Quickly leave.

What's happening?

They took away an Unnie.

Stop, STOP PLEASE!

Teacher, TEACHER!!!

Agasshi, why are doing this seriously?!

Teacher!

Teacher!

What happened to that woman?

Her servants came along and

took her away in a litter.

I guess she was a madwoman, after all.

To him... I am hugely indebted.

A senseless girl!

You went to see Kim Jong Seo...

How much did you tell him?

By any chance...

did you open your mouth about your father?

No.

Then?!

What did you go there for?

No matter what it took, I just wanted to prevent their meeting tonight.

If only your father and Kim Jong Seo do not meet,

do you think you can save Kim Seung Yoo?

How can you be so childish?

Your thoughtless actions can kill all of us.

Why don't you know that?!

Crazed by love,

you don't have your parents and siblings in your thoughts.

Mother. MOTHER!

Mother!

Please open the door!

Mother!

Please save him!

He has not done anything wrong.

No wrong!

Mother...

Have the kids from the mountain camp arrived safely?

No worries.

And the seat to carry the Grand Prince?

You are going to enter the tiger's den with only eight...

No matter how much I think about it, isn't this fraught with danger?

How about taking all the hands and attack them in one shot?

That way, we can't be sure to take out Kim Jong Seo.

If Kim Jong Seo escapes while the turmoil goes on outside,

everything will go up in a puff.

Even if we succeed in killing Kim Jong Seo,

where is the guarantee that the Grand Prince will be able to make it out safely?

After the Grand Prince enters that house,

I will get the mountain camp hands ready outside.

Even so,

there is no way of knowing what's going on inside.

To take another's life, I will have to risk my life as well.

As of today,

I will sever the persistent evil ties connecting my destiny with Kim Jong Seo's.

Kim Jong Seo, who has blocked even the Grand Prince's palace visits...

Would he readily grant

your request to see him in the dead of the night?

The bait has already been cast.

It is from Grand Prince Sooyang.

It is very worrisome that Kim Seung Yoo is having an affair with a lady-in-waiting.

That a scribe at the Royal Secretariat is meeting up with a lady-in-waiting...

This surely calls for a capital punishment.

I will come to see you between 11 p. M. And 1 a. M. tonight.

What is the content, father?

Grand Prince Sooyang will be coming.

Grand Prince Sooyang?

For what reason, is he coming at the dead of the night?

When he has such deep-seated hatred for you...

Father!

Seung Yoo is seeing a lady-in-waiting...?!

If this is true, he might really be put to death!

How did Sooyang find out about this...?

Are you going to let him in?

I will probe what his hidden agenda is.

I won't let Seung Yoo get hurt again.

Just in case, I will strengthen the security inside and outside the house.

Father,

it is Seung Yoo.

We have to verify this with Seung Yoo.

I will speak to him.

You keep silent.

Yes.

Father, may I see you?

She is not from a noble family,

but she is a bright, guileless woman.

Please meet her just one time.

What is that woman's station?

You told your father that she was not a lady from a noble family.

When I asked you whether she was a gisaeng, you answered no.

By any chance, is she a lady-in-waiting?

How did you...?

Is she really a lady-in-waiting?

That's right.

However, she has already left the palace.

Seung Yoo!

Even if you cherish her,

and I accept you two,

the world will not let you be.

I am not afraid of how the world will regard us.

Until you give us your blessing,

I will wait.

Because of that woman,

if your life becomes beset with trouble,

can you endure it?

With one woman deep in my heart,

how can I share my life with another woman?

I see.

For the time being, stay home and watch your actions.

Yes, father.

Let's go.

Young lady.

Come this way.

At least have some porridge.

Aigoo!

Yeo Ri.

Give this to Teacher.

Please do this favor for me.

Blood.

Isn't this blood?

After tonight,

I can't have anything more to do with him, anyway.

I am fine with that.

I am okay even if I can't see him any more.

I just wish that he would be alive.

Young Lady.

You are all I have. I don't have anybody else.

Just give this to him.

How can I forget you.

Good bye, my love.

Good bye, my love.

Please remember.

Please remember

that you and.

I.

Loved each other.

Subtitles brought to you by Princess' man team @Viki.com.

Send half that way and the other half this way.

Who are you?

A favor, I have a favor to ask.

What?

Hyung-nim.

Why are there armed guards around the house?

Grand Prince Sooyang

is going to come.

Grand Prince Sooyang?

You don't need to know more than that.

Return to your room and repent.

What is it?

Some woman asked me to give this to you.

A girl.

What did she look like?

She seemed like some household's handmaid.

A handmaid?

Which way did she leave?

Because of the darkness, that... I couldn't see.

[Seung Bup Temple - Yeo Ri]

Blood

I got an order not to let anyone in or out.

I will be back right away.

Who are you?

How insolent!

This is Grand Prince Sooyang.

What is your business here?

Tell the Second State Councilor that I am asking to see him.

Father.

What do you want to do?

He came just with the litter bearers and one servant.

Let him in.

Yes, Father.

Father said to let you in.

However, I will look around a bit.

Go ahead.

Do I get a pass to see the Second State Councilor now?

I am sorry for the discourtesy.

How did you find out that the woman

my son is seeing was a lady-in-waiting?

Had you accepted the marriage proposal

that I made you in the past,

You and I, along with our children,

would be passing most peaceful days now.

The nation and government, too, would be without any worries.

As long as you do not abandon your vain desire,

harmony between you and me is impossible.

This Sooyang wanting to become the king...

Does that seem like a vain desire on my part

to you, Second State Councilor?

Heaven mandates who becomes the king.

Not man.

A true king is

someone who has the capacity to handle sitting on the throne.

If you try to ascend the throne,

you will have to shed so much blood.

In the end, your fear of the grudges of those who died by your hands

will call for even more blood.

Today, I have not come here as a grand prince.

What are you plotting again?

If you scheme another foolish plan using my son,

that will be like digging your own grave.

Foolishly,

there was a time when I tried to kill Kim Seung Yoo.

But that is in the past.

The reason I came to see you in the dead of the night...

is my less than perfect daughter.

What are you talking about?

The lady-in-waiting whom Kim Seung Yoo cherishes so much...

Do you know who she is?

I also...

was fairly taken aback when I found out that

she was the object of Kim Seung Yoo's affection.

Who on earth is she?

That woman is no other than

this Sooyang's daughter.

Are you asking me now...

to believe this absurd story?

It must be hard to believe it, nonetheless it is the undeniable truth.

Kim Seung Yoo knows my daughter Se Ryung

as a lady-in-waiting by the name of Yeo Ri.

Why don't you verify it?

Seung Gyoo, are you out there?

Yes, father.

Go bring Seung Yoo this moment!

Subtitles brought to you by the Princess' Man Team@viki.com

I understand.

Keep your post well.

Yes!

From the letter Kim Seung Yoo sent my daughter

I could see the two kids' love for each other is deep and poignant.

What do you mean a letter?

Kim Seung Yoo's fervent heart was all put in there.

Second State Councilor, would you like to verify your son's handwriting yourself?

Have you seen Seung Yoo?

I haven't seen him since sundown.

This punk, at this late hour, where has he disappeared to?

Show me the letter.

Woon, are you out there?

Yes.

Bring the letter in.

Move.

Sir, what is the matter?

I told you to move!

Father!

Father!

Hurry and take cover!

Father!

Show His Excellency the letter.

Hurry.

Father! Take cover!

Father!!

Father,

Father, stand up.

You have to take shelter.

Please hurry and move to a safe place.

What is this?

You scared me!

Where is Yeo Ri Agasshi?

Yeo Ri?

Yeo Ri is not here.

Is she really not here?

Who is Yeo Ri?

She is that ugly noona's handmaid.

Handmaid?

I don't know... anyways she is not here.

Aish, I'm going back to sleep!

You have to hurry!

You have to go to Princess Kyung Hye's house and accuse Kim Jong Seo of a treason before the king.

Where is Kim Seung Yoo?

When Kim Jong Seo is dead, what power would his son have?

Let's go for now!

Let's go.

You! You know Kim Seung Yoo's face.

Stick around here with some kids.

And come back with Kim Seung Yoo's head!

Yes!

Yeo Ri?

Yeo Ri is not here.

What is going on?

We got taken in by Grand Prince Sooyang.

Brother?

Brother?!

Father?

FATHER!!!

~Preview~.

My friend has become Sooyang's dog!

I don't regret the path I have chosen.

Seung Yoo!

No matter what, I am going to go to His Majesty.

It's dangerous. Stay here.

I will go.

Do you dare to block the way of the nation's royal son-in-law?

Did you let Kim Seung Yoo go?

Yes.

He didn't catch on that you let him go on purpose?

Probably not.
