familiar series of reactions to being shot.

I wondered if anybody'd

a giddy kind of relief,

shock and surprise
at still being alive,

all the senses working

at the joy of
actually having survived.

And then the paranoia sets in.

is an approaching enemy,

every smell a lethal gas,

and no way of knowing
if it's a mind game, or a clear and present danger.

MAGNUM: An uneasy feeling
settled over me as soon as Driscoll disappeared.

I was angry at myself
for losing him.

But there was something else,

but I wasn't sure anymore
