Going into this challenge, my brother and
I need to step it up and get to the top.

We need to be trying things,
risking everything on our build.

It's time to get serious

- Where's Will?

Why is this guy on a bike?

I have no idea.

My gosh.

I know it looks like I stole
a little boy's bike,

that's not what happened.

We're bringing our cosplay
creativity to this build today,

so we wanted to come
dressed for the occasion.

Welcome my little
Lego Masters in training.

I am joined once again
by our Brickmasters,

Lego lead designers
Jamie and Amy.

They're the ones who are here
to judge your builds

and my hosting as well.
How am I doing so far?

I think you're definitely
getting better.

Okay. Good. Noted.

Now, Sam and Jessica, you've been
in the bottom two weeks in a row.

What are you gonna do
differently this time?

We are going to
definitely plan ahead,

and we are going to...

Bring our creativity
to a new level.

We've been having some
team dynamic issues.

I really hope it doesn't
affect us in this challenge.

We do not want to be
the second team to go home,

so we are trying to make sure
we find our groove this week.

Now, are you ready to find out
what you're gonna be building next?

- Yeah!
- Bring it on.

You're probably thinking it has
something to do with this bike.

And you'd be half right.
One second.

- My goodness.
- The last time we saw Will,

he smashed something
to smithereens with a bat.

Who knows what's coming?

Why does he have a power tool?

Yeah.

Yo, this man's crazy.

- My gosh.
- What is he doing?

- What?
- He's breaking it in half.

Are you serious?

- Okay, okay.
- Good job, Will.

Now, I didn't just cut
that bike in half for fun,

although it was a lot of fun.

No, I did it because

that is what your next
challenge is all about.

Behind me,
there are nine items...

...that have been cut in half.

Your job is to build the other half.

But here's the thing. That second half
can be whatever you want it to be.

We want you to take inspiration
from the item you pick,

but to create an even more

fantastical story
on the other half.

This is a sculpting challenge, so we
really want to see your technical abilities

in how you use the bricks to create shapes
and curves to make a beautiful model.

Cut in half challenge.
I want the clock.

I'm thinking about what kind
of story can we tell

through the movements?
It'll look super awesome.

I have got my eye
on that cuckoo clock.

That is so within
our wheelhouse.

All I'm seeing
is this big pinata.

I can't look away from it.
We just locked eyes.

Okay, you have 12 hours
to complete your build.

It's first come, first served.

So on my call, run in there
and grab the item you want.

Get your brick on!

Go, go, go, go, go, go!

We're running towards the clock.

And I look up and Flynn's right
in front of Mark and Boone.

- I'm one step away.
- Go, go, go.

- And Flynn is like...
- Just get in there.

- Aah!
- He has his hands on the clock.

- Dang it.
- What's left is the laptop.

Okay, careful. Careful.

- Yay! I got the one I wanted!
- Whoo!

This is absolutely
the last one I wanted.

So we get the laptop.

You get a half a laptop, Boone.

- Half of an item is your starting point.
- Yeah.

- Now what? - I think the challenge
is that we're not asking them

to just replicate
the other side.

We're asking them to use it
as a start of a whole new story,

and then imagination
has to build the rest.

And I think one of the challenges
we have is that there's--

a lot of the surfaces
are starting sideways,

which is not a very natural way
to start building with Lego.

- Right.
- Some things like the bicycle

also have very small points
that you can build on.

So where some of them have a lot of
studs that they have to build out,

some of them have
very small areas.

It's gonna be really
a different challenge

for different people depending
on which object they chose.

Ooh, this is tough.

What happens with a laptop?

The clock has movement.

I am so psyched.

The pinata has color.
The globe is this half a sphere

with colors
and so much opportunity.

Even the telescope gives you this
sense of looking off towards something.

Keep seeing this
really fantastical world.

A pirate ship and all
these different things.

- Yeah.
- The laptop--

The laptop is boring.

Work. Work.
You do work on a laptop, so...

- Yeah, how do we show that?
- Um...

We got the cuckoo clock.

The other half is going to be
a clockwork man

who has moving eyes
and some moving limbs,

and you're going to be able
to see the gears moving inside.

- What do you think?
- That's great.

Last challenge was tough
and Flynn was feeling the pressure.

What? No, you haven't.
Not at all.

- I was afraid we were gonna go home.
- Me, too.

But coming
into the new challenge,

I have new confidence
in our ability to do this here.

We've got our creative juices flowing,
so everybody just better watch out.

We're going to do the abdomen
of Timmy the monkey,

and then his hands are gonna be
two bananas sticking out.

We are showing the story that Timmy the
monkey took a bike ride to the park.

- I'm back you up all the way, man.
- Okay.

It's a magical fire hydrant, and out
of the water that's spewing out of it,

there's mermaids. Maybe there's
a coral reef coming out of it.

- 'Cause that could be really pretty and
vibrant. - I feel like this is all going

to be stuff that Christian
and Aaron going to be doing,

but they're going to be
doing it better than us

- 'cause they got the helmet.
- That's a good point.

My hope is that if the squid's right
here, we have big tentacles

wrapping around the sides
that kind of go like this.

So cool.

This underwater diver's helmet

is tied intrinsically
to the water.

So we settle on building
a nautical scene,

with a giant kraken
or giant squid, a sailboat.

It's gonna have moving parts.
It's gonna be super awesome.

Golden Brick, diving bell,
they give each other...

- A nice complement.
- ...nice complement.

- Can we work the Gold Brick
into the build? - Yeah.

The Golden Brick is power
to save you from elimination,

but if we do our job,
we'll never have to use it.

Love it, love it, love it.

If you could put--
and around the edges,

you could put water coming off
the sides on all sides.

I think that's a great idea.

We are working together
this challenge,

and it already feels different.

- Hey, guys, Sam and Jessica.
- You're here.

- How are you? - Hi. I'm feeling
a lot of positive vibes over here.

- That's right.
- Yeah. They're so positive

- we actually have a surprise for you.
- No way.

- We do.
- She does.

- Yeah.
- How do you feel about this challenge?

- For you guys, this is a great challenge--

We were really excited when we
saw it was a sculpting challenge

because we're both
super creative.

So I think if we combine our skill
sets together, it'll be gorgeous.

- With our powers combined, we can save
the world. - We can powers combined.

I think it's great.
I love it.

So, you've got half
a fire hydrant.

What is your plan so far?

We are going to make
a mermaid bursting forth

with water splashing out
behind her.

And then the heart is the
sacred heart that she holds.

Cool. That's great.

It's so great to see smiles on your
faces, I can't even tell you.

So we got the telescope,
which is really fun

because before we were married,
one of our favorite activities

was to go stargazing.

But we're gonna create
the Imagiscope.

The will let us get a view
into the mind of a kid

and see a rocket ship
adventure, a pirate ship,

and an adventure
to the depths of the sea.

I feel like we're doing
really good on time.

- Love it.
- Yeah, me, too.

The car's gonna start from here

- and it's gonna work it's way down.
- Exactly.

The cut in half challenge
is very difficult

because we have to design and
create the other half of the pinata.

- Hey, Corey, Travis, how's it going?
- Hey.

- Hey, how you doing, man?

I'm a little confused.

Am I allowed to hit this
with a baseball bat?

- Well, that was last challenge.
- That was last week.

- That was last challenge.
- That's off limits now.

So I can't do it?
Do not do that this week.

- No bombs, no dropping it, nothing.
- No bats, no bombs.

Okay, got it.

Where are you guy at?

We're seeing an amazing
pinata here.

- How are you approaching it?
- When you look at the pinata,

- it looks like a horse,
so we're thinking... - Horse power.

So we have to dress this up
to look like a race car,

but to still have it connected
to the horse's head.

And like any sports car,
you have decals,

you have other special things that
make it look fun, make it pop.

Love the ambition, but you guys,
your fingers are gonna be on fire...

- Yeah. - ...if you're trying
to build something that big.

You know, are you actually going
to be able to deliver on that?

Yes. - With this particular
build, we want to go bigger,

more ambitious, in order
to make our project stand out.

We are charging full speed ahead.
We got this.

- What if we add a character?
- Ooh, that's good.

So, all right, what if we build

- the different things that he's
gonna do with his laptop? - I love it.

We're going to build
a story about Argyle Lyle,

who uses his laptop
for different things.

He'll go to the bank,
he'll go to the doctor.

We'll see what other things
we can connect him to.

We are really feeling
the tension

of the time that we've wasted.

- That's way too high, right?
- Yeah.

Definitely want
to give this guy a big beak

- if I can afford to.
- Is it coming off again?

- It's just my big sausage fingers.
- I was thinking, like--

I was thinking about doing,
like, what we drew,

like, the classroom, like, tech,

and then a classroom of growth.

Krystle and I met
through the cosplay community,

so storytelling
is everything for us.

I mean, we're both huge fans
of so many things,

and we want to combine
everything we love in one build.

- And Krystle-- yeah.
- It's gonna be epic!

We're gonna win this challenge.

- Hey, Krystle and Amie.
- Hi.

- Hello.
- You got the globe.

Yes, we got the globe and we decided
to incorporate our biggest passions.

So we've got the bottom,
which is focusing on science and tech

to kind of represent
what Amie teaches.

And then on the upper level,
I used to teach adults with special needs,

so we're gonna have growth and plants
kind of grow around the planet.

Remember, you're not gonna
be able to explain this.

You definitely need to think how
can you communicate that to anybody?

- Okay.
- Really try to keep it clean.

- Okay.
- Just get one story that makes sense

rather than several stories
that we get lost on.

All our planning, it just seems like
it was for nothing and a waste of time,

and now we're two hours down.
What the heck do we do now?

We have this globe,
it's cut in half,

and the Brickmasters are confused
a little bit on our story.

I think we just need to scratch
this idea and start over.

They're right.
Even explaining it took me too long.

But I am nervous because now
it's 9 hours and 40 minutes

and we're starting
completely over.

So we've got to think
of a much better story,

and very quickly, I might add.

But you know what?
Um, we can do it.

Progress is being made.

- What do you think?
- It's looking really great.

- I love those leaves.
- No monkey business?

Yeah, monkey business.

- We're in a zone right now.
- That's good, that's good.

Jermaine and I haven't broken
through to the top two just yet,

but we're trying to be underdogs
and we want to surprise everyone.

- Mel, Jermaine, what's happening?
- Hey, Will, how you doing?

- This looks pretty spectacular.
- Thank you.

What we're gonna do
is have an octopus

come out of the guitar, and
with all of its many tentacles,

- it's going to be a one man rock band.
- I like it.

Listen, I got a bunch
of questions,

but keeping in the theme
of this challenge...

...I only got half the question.

- Boy. - Now, Mel, what's the
best part of building with Jer--

- Gerbils.
- Gerbils?

- Gerbils.
- Good answer, good answer.

I thought you were gonna say
Gob from "Arrested Development."

- Who? - And "who" is a good
answer. Thank you so much.

Amy, what is your favorite
thing about Ty--

- Ler?
- Ler, wow.

Aww.

That's so nice.
Corey, who is the favorite br--

Who's the favorite brother?
Travis is the favorite brother.

- He's the baby of the family.
- Is that true?

He gets away with everything.
My parents have never had pets,

and he literally brought a dog
home and they were good with it.

I asked for a goldfish,
and I was told no.

- Really?
- Full dog. Full-grown dog.

Full-grown dog.

We chose the cuckoo clock, and this
that Flynn's working on is his face.

This half and half challenge
with our clockwork man

is ultimately
a sculptural challenge,

which means it needs
organic shapes.

- Is that all right? - Yeah. I'm just
trying to compress it from the back.

- So we want curves.
- It looks so cool!

This challenge is tough because it's
really hard to sculpt with Lego.

Our teams are incredible because they
can take these rectangular pieces

and turn them into things
that are round.

And they can use bricks to sculpt
realistic-looking creations

that are curved and expressive
like a face or a head.

So like with sculpting,
you can go from this to this.

It's basically magic.

- Just gotta keep building.
- Dude, I love how this is shaping up.

- Aaron's spending
a lot of time on that squid.

And so in the last challenge,
we built a very successful

monster with tentacles.

I'm noticing a lot
of tentacles this round.

- Imitation is the best form of flattery.
- Imitation. Yeah.

I don't know if it's gonna
pay off for them though.

The octopus is coming along
great, by the way.

- Thank you. - We're gonna
make sure Robbie the Rock-topus

- rocks their blocks off.
- Right.

Mel and Jermaine
are also making an octopus.

Very competitive team.

I think what's really gonna
set our builds apart more

is the scales that we've chosn

and the techniques we're using
to build our creatures.

We have the Golden Brick. Naturally, people
are gonna want to knock us off the top.

There's a little bit of rivalry
between Mel and Jermaine

and Aaron and Christian
on their octopus build.

Yeah. You can feel it.

We already know that
we got the scale on lock.

But they got the detail,
so it does kind of worry me.

We're gonna have to go pound for
pound, tentacle to tentacle.

- Nice.
- We've completely scratched our build.

We took everything off
our globe.

And I'm like, "All right,
what really says us, Krystle?

- What really says us?"
- I want a dragon.

- Yeah, I want a dragon, too.
- You want a dragon?

- We're gonna focus on dragons.
- Grr!

These dragons
are gonna be fighting.

And we're gonna have a cute
little baby dragon on a heart

offering a Lego piece
and being like,

"Let Lego unite."

The reason we chose dragons
were because we are dressed up

in our whimsical fairytale
costumes for cosplay,

and I feel like
who doesn't love dragons?

We're taking big risks.
We've never built dragons before.

I'm glad we listened
to the judges.

They have that outside
perspective that we don't.

A hundred percent.

So the teams are deep
into their builds.

A couple of false starts and stuff,
but now everybody's moving forward.

If we pull this off,
we have a chance of winning.

Sam and Jessica have really
brought it this week.

They're making a mermaid

that's popping out
of a fire hydrant,

and it looks really dynamic.

Apart from the fact
that they're getting along,

is that they're really leaning
into that artistic side.

When they come together,
they can make something really masterful.

I think this is our challenge.
I think we're doing great.

Krystle and Amie, they actually
started taking their build apart

and have changed the direction.
They're focusing on dragons.

It's gonna have to come down
and it's gonna have the teeth.

- Eyes.
- This is the base.

It's quite a risk
for them to take on.

They've got a lot to get done
and not a lot of time.

Who's gonna blow it? Honestly, be honest.
Who's gonna blow it?

Every challenge is different.
It's a whole new day.

Okay, but who's gonna blow it?

Come on, don't give me
that answer.

I think the elimination last
time actually woke everyone up.

- Yeah.
- Guys, I said who's gonna blow it?

For the cut in half
challenge, we got the pinata,

and we arrived at horse power.

We're just thinking
of a race car.

We have a lot of quantity,

but we don't have a lot
of quality, you know?

I feel like the design
is just not working.

The time is against us.
We don't wanna go home at this challenge.

Remember when we talked
about abandoning ideas

when we just realize
it's not working?

- Yeah.
- I think this is one of those times

we need to abandon this idea.

Let's just keep at it.
We got this.

We're running behind, but we've
been through tougher spots before.

You know, my brother,
he's a cancer survivor.

I had to still be
that encouraging brother

to tell him keep going.
You know, I got you. I'm here with you.

And as long as it's still us,
we can dominate this.

So it's a little bit
of a crunch time,

but we can definitely
get it done.

Travis and Corey may have
bit off more than they can chew.

I'm really nervous that they're
gonna end up with a half-built model.

Yeah.

We're almost halfway done

and the clock
is still running out.

Okay, listen up, builders.

You're halfway there.

That's funny.
The clock just stopped.

Either it's a major
technical malfunction

or it's a manufactured
reality show moment.

I wonder which one it is.

Ooh!

and have-nots.

Suddenly the clock stops.
It's halfway through the challenge

and Will is giving us

After seeing what you've got, they're
gonna divide the room into two halves.

The top and bottom. Top half teams
keep on doing what you're doing.

But if you're in the bottom, this is
a wake-up call to step up your game.

I don't think the Brickmasters

I can see a lot of you
feel a little crestfallen.

- But feeling that
you're in the bottom half,

maybe this is an opportunity

to think about what
you want to do.

so you can have that underdog energy.

I feel like the teams

was unlike anything
I've ever experienced.

In the course of this challenge,

we've gone from being
real miserable

about what we got to being
stoked about our story

- and our hero. I'm glad.

It kind of felt like

So our cut in half project,
we have a car that we're actually building

- to match our pinata.

Unfortunately,
we're still a work in progress.

I- not gonna lie.
I'm still not fully clear

how you're integrating
the pinata into this.

- All right.
- Can you tell me one more time

- how are these attaching somehow together?
- Sure.

There's only a couple of hours left.

We're gonna be elevating
this upwards.

At this point, because of
what we've built so far,

it's too late to scrap
everything and start over.

We're gonna continue to build and
make our race car look like a race car

with some simple build design,

and hopefully it can all
come together soon.

So, we made our bed.

challenge, we got the hydrant.

We're making a mermaid bursting forth
with water splashing out behind her.

A human form out of Lego brick is one of
the most difficult things you can sculpt.

And Sam is very good at that. And I have
confidence he's gonna make it look awesome.

Those bat wings for eyelashes.
My God, you're amazing.

- I'm so happy. I'm so happy.
- It does. It looks better.

That just appeared somehow.

I'm having a great time
with you here at "Lego Masters."

- Dude.
- How you feel?

I don't feel good about this,

Everyone's looks incredible.

Travis and Corey,
they didn't really adjust

anything after
the halfway point.

They've committed fully
to getting it done.

And I'm just concerned
there's not gonna be the details

or the connection to the pinata.

Okay, let me add
another brick here.

Amie and Krystle
are into cosplay,

so it really feels
that they've got a bit more

of their personality in these
builds with the dragons.

But they are notoriously
difficult things to build.

- Yes. - They have an iconic
face that is very hard to sculpt.

And if they can't show us that,
then they could be in trouble.

This dragon is not as sturdy
as I'm wanting it to be.

It's not smooth.
It's blocky.

We have a lot to do
in a small amount of time.

This is a very difficult build.

- Whoa! - That light means
there's a half hour left.

- Whoa!
- Keep building.

All right, I can't see
what colors are going on here.

Keep working at it. Finish.
Make those minifigs.

Make as many minifigs
as you can.

That's probably gonna save us,
the story.

Yes. Highlight above the cheek.

We've been married
for nine years.

We've been through
our ups and downs.

But this is probably
the biggest thing

that we've ever done together.

And I feel like it's really
bringing us closer together.

- Now it's starting to come to life,

a half a laptop.

This is his search engine.

And this is his life.

When you guys started,
we saw the pain you were going through

trying to figure out how this
object translates into a model.

But that story is very clean
and very clear.

We're really happy to see it
actually grow into a model.

- That is impressive. - You guys have
really brought your humor and fun here

with these little stories
you have all around.

But you've chosen to put it
very linear in these blocks,

and I would have loved
if you would have broken it up

with some more chaotic shapes

because the internet
is a little bit chaotic.

I'm happy with what we've done,

even though it took
a while to get it.

Krystle, Amie, tell us about your
half item in your build this week.

We were drawn to the globe.

We decided to showcase dragons,
which we've never built before.

- You've never built before.
- Yeah, we've never built them.

That's kind of the epitome
of go big or go home, right?

You gotta step out of your comfort
zone, like, a little bit, too.

- A lotta bit.
- Yeah, a lotta bit.

The dragons represent the chas

and the destruction
in the world.

But there is a cute little
baby dragon on a heart

being like, "Let Lego unite."

What I'm struggling with,

it's really hard
to see the dragons.

I also think the globe

is unfortunately not really
present right now.

Because you've draped
around it, you lose it.

Give focus.
Right now, it's quite busy.

We love to see people challenging
themselves in this competition,

but the dragons
was a very risky thing to do.

Unfortunately,
you haven't succeeded.

We pushed ourselves, but someone's
going home, and it might be us.

It's-- yeah.

Aaron and Christian, what was the
half item that you got this week?

So we have
the half diving helmet.

What appears to be
a peaceful island

turns out to be an enormous
Kraken under the sea.

Yeah.
That's pretty cool.

What an amazing model.
It is beautiful.

We're very familiar from the last two
challenges that you guys can build.

In many ways, you don't have
to prove that to us.

What you do have to show
is your range.

This was a sculpting challenge,

so you could have tried
to really go all-in on that.

You guys have done a really
nice story

that fits in with the helmet.

You're obviously very skilled.

I love the tentacles.

I love the detail,
but I would have loved to see

that Kraken actually
be enormous...

push yourself a little bit more.

This week we got
the half guitar,

and so we decided to create
Robbie the Rock-topus.

He's a one-man band.

Eight tentacles
playing different instruments.

This is a real impressive model.

In the room,

you've used different techniques

and you've really made those legs
of the octopus really dynamic.

this character Timmy

and Timmy got lost

how does the bike tie in.

It is the bike story that I think
we've been struggling with all along.

Tyler, Amy,

We've turned
that half of a telescope

into the Imagiscope.

Our character is seeing
all these possible adventures

he could go on and be on.

Wow. I'm really blown away by,
like, the sort of plumes

of smoke and dust and whatever
come out underneath.

It's pretty extraordinary stuff.

You guys are masters
of the brick.

Kudos for delivering
a super polished full concept.

The idea you had was wonderful.

It had a lot of those
fun story elements

in the mind and eye of a child.

and your build this week.

Once upon a time,

there was a village built
beneath a giant clock.

After many years,
the clock fell into disrepair

and wound down.

So the villagers came together

to build a clockwork man
that would be able to make sure

that the clock never
wound down again.

- That's rad.
- I can't hear it.

- That's so cool.
- Nice.

You've given us a really
dynamic and interesting model

that ties in really well
to the cuckoo clock.

There's so great details

in this little village
down below.

You have the eye ticking

and you have the gears
that are turning,

and that brings this model
to the next level.

I'm just thinking about the way
that the smile

ties into the little bit
of the opening there.

It's really using the form
and carrying it through.

and improved way of traveling.

Project Pinata Power.

Now, with cars,
you have gasoline.

You have some cars
that you plug in.

But this car,
all you need is candy.

We have our engineers
all over here making sure

that we bring
this pinata power to life.

So, what is it going to take to you
get you guys in this Pinata Power?

- Great pitch. Sold.

Before I buy it,
I'd love to hear from our Brickmasters.

I think it actually requires you guys

I do see parts of a car here.

But I think you guys
just ran out of time

and it's not finished enough
for it to shout "car."

For our challenge,
we chose half a fire hydrant,

and spewing out
is a magical mermaid.

She is bursting forth
into our world,

bringing us water,
the building block of life,

and the greatest power
of all, love.

We used minifigure legs
in the seahorse,

and a carrot on the nose,
which was really hard to attach

because it doesn't have a lot
of attachment points on it.

You have two stories
that you're actually telling,

because when you see
just that fire hydrant,

it just looks like
it explodes with life.

So no matter which
part of the room you're in,

when you see this model,
it has a story to tell.

You have everything coming out
in all directions,

and those details
that you're adding,

using the minifigure legs--

I love creative parts usage,

and you're really giving it
in spades here.

I love that you've put
these little details

of the turtle
and the seahorse coming out.

You actually have a whole
underwater world.

There's more
than just the mermaid.

It comes together really well.

connection of the car and the pinata,

and it was really
missing those details

that we expect
from a Lego Master.

we love it when you really

put your personalities
into the build,

but unfortunately
you chose to make

the dragon your focal point,

and there were some real flaws
in that build.

The colors in particular
really made it hard to decode.

And the good things that you
did build just didn't show up.

Well, we've got to say good-bye
