I'm Whitney and I'm Megan burger wagon
so lots of been asking us to record a
video of how we met
seems people obviously finding us now on
they're like what is this girl from
Hawaii doing with a girl from England so
that we tell you right baby
correct okay well all started back in
2006 or 736 but I don't really meant
2006 ish I think it was almost 2007 it
was like December 2006 I was living in
Hawaii but I went home to see my family
in Kentucky and due to the time
difference and the jet lag I was up
really late one night and was back when
myspace was really popular and it was
okay to add random people and it was not
creepy at all so one day I just was
curious what girls in England were up to
because I've always had a thing for
British girls my entire life like I've
just been fascinated by it and I think
it's the accent I don't know I was drawn
to it so I just wanted to see with what
they were up to and I had a hard time
like searching the postcode because they
have letters in their zip code was like
so took me a while and then I finally
after all that effort the first writer
come on
there's Megan's profile ha I clicked on
it well uh cute she's feminine she's
pretty she was the best-looking one out
of the bunch editor and then she
messaged me and she's so bubbly and
added me on a mess and we kind of
started chatting but the moral of that
story is if I would've been up that
night and clicked on Megan I wouldn't be
here today like my whole life would be
incredibly different yeah like just that
one click changed my life forever and
what's really bad is I don't really
remember it she doesn't remember it so
she has this whole story of funding me
on MySpace but I wasn't set out you know
I didn't think I was gonna find like my
wife I was just I do I'm Li reality yeah
I remember some pretty blown as being
from Hawaii adding myself allows pretty
cool and never thought I'd ever meet her
18 at the time as well you were baby
whose baby I'm a year young yeah girl
I'm a year older so not that much older
yeah so she went was trying to talk to
my sin apparently I went on webcam my
memory is so awful I don't and she was
leaving a mess inside doing all the time
and not know it and I thought she was
ignoring me like no ever Sundays
remember that oh yeah so long myspace in
Emerson that's how old the story is
that's crazy yeah and then she decided
to come and study abroad in London yes I
did
so Rome 2007 is this has really nothing
to do with me clicking on Megan I was in
Hawaii the time and they offered could
study abroad programs so I was like this
is my ticket you know you get to the UK
basically just to see what it's like and
so I applied for the study abroad
program I'm thank God I got in um I
wouldn't move again
then six months prior to when I arrived
me and I can started talking loads yeah
so start messaging like every day like
long messages and it's kind of getting
to know each other nearly which is going
to study in France s so we thought we
want to meet in Paris when we that
didn't work out no but I should probably
good because wait would help work out it
won't be so might have all going wrong
and food met in Paris yes remember you
know we sent each other postcards anyone
from France and I went to Portugal and
holiday something I said was more in
Portugal it was funny though our
messages we never once started with each
other we never let the other wouldn't
know we like each other but this come I
think I I've never had this happen and I
don't know why I felt so drawn to Megan
like almost like in love with her but
not quite yet because I never met her I
had a crazy gut feeling like I don't
know I was going to marry it was a
weirdest thing I've ever experienced we
make plans to meet oh and when was it
September Jelena looming yeah through
20th for 22nd game but it doesn't innate
aroused fresh-off-the-boat America baby
the time was actually studying at
Cardiff University so my home is near
London so I came home that we can make
at Waterloo station mind you you have no
idea how much preparation went in like

with a group of my friends my Hawaii

have a day trip in London abandoned the
day trip and met Megan instead but I had
my friends with me at the time and they
were gonna make sure Megan wasn't I
didn't know she died just some things
big deal but they were just gonna make
sure Megan loves a jet you know so
nervous and waiting for Megan to arrive
at Waterloo
meanwhile we there's a bar opposite the
station called a bar one and my friends
and I we go in and I downed about two or
three mojitos what time was that
twelve like I'll ever know I was the one
having 12 Milan it wasn't me drinks
ourselves put out then yeah hidden text
me or she calls me and she's like she's
there
oh so I'm waiting at the bottom the
stairs and she tells me she's been oh
and I have a group of group of my Posse
with me I got my girl yeah I'm thinking
I was go back to me one person and there
actually was a bunch of girls as I oh my
goodness but she said she was at the
step up these stairs and I we had
miscommunications to which there's
constitutive Nexus totally so I walked
out one set of stairs and she was not
there so I was like okay they don't know
build up for me yeah back in the station
rounds walk across a bridge and then
down some stairs so as I came out across
the bridge I could see her for the first
time I coming it's all these girls and
shifts what doesn't stand or watching me
I just was like shadow she have shorts
on I mean oh yeah she's nice and sunny
keeper so I got was like oh she's pretty
I couldn't see her from a distance and
she had her long blonde hair it ray-bans
on the jacket maybe and you look hot
thanks boom I don't know what Megan was
wearing but I remember she's on shorts
and you're like look really nice she was
just her boobs were I am I am which was
nice okay that's never a boob girl and
so um I'm at my so I met her friends and
I thought well never gonna meet these
girls again and then I got to know them
really well and they left us to it we
went for a little wonder I even though I
don't London notes I didn't have a clue
what to go we were so nervous I just
started walking let's walk and then we
train called a pretty much you don't
know where we were I think it walked
into Hyde Park and we still never be
back to where we came across we don't
know where we actually came across like
a wooden cabin I think
my book and all the places in London
wanna cabin having a cocktail and
Megan's having a nice wine I think
executed and uh I'm the kind of person
when I'm nervous
with like a girl I can't eat my appetite
is just shot like there's no way I was
like how is she eating non-vegetarian
have any options I was just thinking how
can she eat right now like I probably
should have eaten lungs I wasn't
drinking all day yeah you should have
you should have eaten we go to Trafalgar
Square first or was that after Harry
square me a picture she deleted I think
the first picture of us cuz I knew like
a deputation of photos and I knew that
thing's gonna go on MySpace or Facebook
so I was like retake well Sudoku yeah um
then we went back to all our warnings
and we got some food I had some food any
finally um we had harmless pita bread um
English in some chips fries for you

really wasted actually I have a clue I
was keeping my cool then um we headed
back to where she was staying at
University and that was her home we make
hands we were going to go out in London
so my friend Nick Thacker
and um you went back to her halls first
I saw her friend student is and he came
in the room was get ready and I
remembered that I specifically went and
bought a dress to go out for this night
out and he nights look good and she was
like done a one wearing really mm-hmm
I must put this trousers and a cord I
was like there were high teens and they
were not jeans like Sarah Mitchell yeah
I got on that dress will put a picture
you see we lit lighting like Damien no
no I remember just thinking that I'd
like specifically went and thought about
what I was gonna wear and she handed I'm
drinking tea by the way yeah she's a
teen of her she's gonna be headed back
out and at this point what he was so
drunk that she doesn't actually one
believe it how we got entrained I'd
still don't know that she's that drunk
because I've really tried so hard
maintain myself we went to Clapham I
think and met my friend Nick picked us
up in his car I remember that I remember

so he was playing it when I kiss did I
remember that and we're we're like oh
she's a school we went to some random
bar a kumble we're good
his friends that underwear and then when
he's like I think I need to be sick
after it quiet like I think absolutely
no god dammit this is Nina she doesn't
have a clue how much I'd consume being
from America they don't really drink so
from the age of you know I've been at
uni for a few years it drunk every week
pretty much it back in the day and she
doesn't at all they're like freshers and
they can't move only like 21 or whatever
it wasn't even I wasn't even able I was
20 yeah I'm 20 so she can you join
America yet so no one managed to hold it
together we go from there and then we
went to candy bar up there and there's
big like butch bounce that was like do
you know what kind of bar this is not
like yeah a lesbian bar cuz well
lesbians in fact in the next like but

oh yeah I've been tampon in London is
tiny tiny tiny always there's no I miss
him with all of our people don't know

so drunk I didn't we were staying over

the hell I was thinking this would never
happen ever but I forgot my stuff my
goddess would think I need anything

think I've been noticed I don't know
what I noticed you didn't do it maybe I
thought oh you're not gonna stay over
you're gonna go back I don't know what I
thought was gonna happen but I just you
just didn't take it so I don't know

steps we were with things friends and I
started to hold our hand so made the
first move even touching I was holding a
hand and one of her friends was like oh
you're such a cute couple how long have
you been together
well we just met today thank you yeah

moment because I knew like this is gonna

that's a place we already were and then

cuddles and then I said mind you I've
been innocent the whole night very very
an associate innocent like petrified I
guess I don't know what came over me

everywhere no but when I was getting
ready for bed I remember thinking do you
not have sex in a sense you've just met
her
do not have sex like I don't want to
have sex with never see each other again
we had sex so we saw each other again
yeah that's how it went down
so yes the time is coming to know I'm
making the bed by the way for those
people that say that I'm awkward on
camera
well you're absolutely right that's the
end of that damn awkward on camera I'm
very different in real lives after that
I go back to our return to Roehampton
with my Hawaii peeps and I remember
feeling this crazy feeling of sadness I
was excited to be back you know and
experience what I came to London to
experience but my heart was sad because
that's departed for Megan and I didn't
know understand why it such strong
because having a saying mm-hmm first
time I said goodbye to my wife um we
then arranged to me up to meet say sure
I think it was encoded so mommy this is
the first time ever getting on like a
train because I don't come from a roller
trains everybody jobs in America that we
can we is too
you remember Whitney saying to me one
night that you wanted us to be its
crimson
oh so I don't remember saying that we'd
be exclusive and it said we were for
sure we're to see how you asked if you
wanted to be its consider yeah well done

Turtle Bay mm-hmm I had a friend who
kind of hooked us up which is very nice

something and we had a nice little sweet
on the top floor they set up
complimentary champagne and it was
perfect and it was beautiful and it was
like the best way to start Sunday
together was we're in the pool and I
hate in my head underwater oh I hate no

don't like it what'd she do she dumped
me Oh I was initially at lesson didn't

any big you I'm out for three weeks
didn't know that my first time being
Hawaii seeing her in her own little
environment being in bikinis and beats
dresses and flip-flops every day it was
great that's good lofty good then I had
to leave so we had a first goodbye which
was in December at London Heathrow and
Oh wasn't it like we did like really
early in the morning so I stay with you
I actually got really ill so my voice
was like pretty much gone yeah we don't
know what's wrong made flu or something
so I still went and I think actually was
sick while she was checking in sick
about I was reading tearful what I could
buy but she wasn't which is it really
quite funny cuz she's been the most here
for one I became say
I'm Hawaii do you start crying days
leading up to another time as well so
what became a little I don't know
wherever happily China have to leave
always depart she'd cry days eating up
to it or as I would like to save my
tears for the day cuz I don't want to be
emotionally benighted but Bonaparte
actually broke into a million pieces
like not even brought it got broken and
then like stepped on and like just
someone vomited on it okay
that's dramatic okay I was just I
couldn't cope book I really couldn't
cope without Megan in my life like I
don't know she's not told me I love her
more than anything
hmm thanks nothing but I got so used to
her being in my life you know every
looks just the mundane things like wanna
the grocery store just driving around
their Starbucks sadly its thing you're
doing a long distance because you might
not have ever been in that person's
place before sudden making up together
anymore used to them being in your bed
in a room or time to eat or in computer
everywhere I could go then reminds you
of the moon is really hot so yeah she
tainted everything did that's the word
yes I'm obsessive what my way as you can
tell I drink a lot
Gary thirsty and so I left my water
bottle in her car with the lid open it
just set off tears and I'll remember
call my mom just crying like I have lost
that I'll return back to the UK in the
summer of 2000 yeah so then we started
every three months I guess we did back
and forth yeah we never ever went longer
than three months you know what for the
record we were not rich like no way oh
yeah student I was too and I was working
a part-time job lot of money basically
to see if you really love someone and
you're committed you can want it bad
enough you'll figure out a way Johnny
you'll make it work um and we earned a
lot of air mouth was all gone back and
forth yeah that helps so thanks American
now for years we were long distant and
we never went through much support in
many times we but it was still a big fat
to do long distance that's be honest too
it was Laura it was actually ever had to
do socially I think good harder on me we
have 11 hour time difference and we
would try and communicate as much
possible we'd like message to each other
work for the day like a massive facing
my city member because we couldn't talk
in the day so he'd say that's what I do
I would go on a complete time obviously
we did long-distance for four years um
last year we had
to a partnership and now mana Whitney is
now also living in the UK with me so
we're no longer doing anymore morrible
story is I wouldn't met Megan yeah now
the moral story is you never know who
you're gonna you never know who you're
gonna find so if you're feeling down or
depressed you just don't know what's
gonna come but I've really badly wanted
to find you know a girlfriend and form
to you feminine is so high I was with a
lot of straight girls you know who would
mess with my head and it wasn't pretty
so you were ah so that's us that's wagon
that's our story and now that we're
living together life is good
but we still good update you I mean keep
you updated as to what weddin is doing
but we did it so we conquered it so for
anyone do a long-distance it does work
you can't do it it's just when we had
all the odds against us we had every
single thing against us I just moved to
the UK easily and she couldn't move to
be with me we had everything literally
everything against us mm-hmm that's the

kids I love her she loves me we're a
