impactful my dad has been.

When they said they're gonna give me an award

for coming from a town,
your ancestors,

an honorary member

of that town, and you've
never been there before,

in front of your daughters,

That's acceptance
from another culture

that you're one of them.

SYLVESTER:
100 years ago,

my grandfather left this city,

and this was the key

to his barbershop.

Earlier today, I was stunned

to receive a key.

grandfather's barbershop.

So I walk out of the room,
and I hear the faucet go on,

the shower go on.

-(shower running)
-SYLVESTER: Of course, I can't take it,

so I sneak into the bathroom,

and the steam
is coming out, the water.

I open the glass door,
and he's standing there

in cowboy boots with his Levi's

around his ankles.

His fingers in his ear,

and he was humming
like... (hums)

-What the hell, will you?
-(Sylvester laughs)

JENNIFER:
Any time that Sly and Frank go away together...

(laughing) Oh, my God.

JENNIFER:
...Sly loves to play pranks on Frank

since Frank was a baby.

Every day, we need to do
something fun, family-oriented.

we all love ice cream.

to travel with Sly because

Sly draws so much attention.

Sly gets worried that the girls

aren't going to enjoy
themselves because

of him being around
all the time.

So, sometimes, he actually
has to stay in the hotel

so they can go out and do things
kind of like everybody else.

-You know, it could be, it could be a little difficult.

I'm kind of the

vacation goblin,

the destroyer of fun.

Not intentionally,
but if I go someplace,

we have what is known as about

a two-hour window before

many people, hundreds,

sometimes thousands,
come around.

And the girls can't enjoy
their vacation.

So, quite often,
they get a head start.

They look through
window shopping,

art museum, this and that,

and then I show up

and wreck everything.

JENNIFER:
So, what are we gonna do?

I want to go make ice cream.

I know you want to go
taste ice cream, right?

Dad, no, you're coming
to ice cream.

My daughters,
they love the idea of gelato,

and I'm going, "God, I know how
this is gonna turn out."

But time is very precious.

I want to keep
this unit together

and do the things I didn't do
when I should have done them.

And I feel obligated

that my first priority
is my wife and my children,

and everything else
pales in comparison.

the worst next few hours

The point of being in Rome
as a family

is to do things as a family.

We want to make sure Sophia
