while preparing for the Busan concert.

We were putting in a lot of effort

to show everyone

to learn the dance.

And there were some who stayed behind
to practice more, like me.

in almost a year.

For a person,

I can lead a new life in my own way,

so I'm not afraid of anything.

Of course, it's going to be really hard

if something goes wrong.

It's a team I'm a part of.

We're now able

This is so heavy!

[RM] It feels like we ran a half marathon.

Once you're over three or four miles,

you don't know if you're moving
of your own volition

or if your limbs are moving you.

You have no idea as to where you are.

And I thought I was
only going to run three to four miles,

but I ended up going to the Olympics.

And an American broadcasting network
is broadcasting our marathon.

That's what this all feels like.

So I'm like,
"I really want to take a break now."

But people are like, "Are you crazy?"

"You're on global television
and everything."

"What are you saying?"
"You have to keep going."

We pushed on like that
for the past three or four years.

One of our members put it this way.

All we wanted to do was to watch the view
from our hot-air balloon,

but it's so scary
now that we happened to reach outer space.

[V] I think that really sums up
what we're feeling.

Others may not understand,

but our goal was never to reach this high.

We just rode
that hot-air balloon into the sky

because we wanted to travel around

and see the beautiful scenery.

But we ended up
going through the atmosphere,

where things got dark,
and we realized that we were in space.

We'd see stars and the planets.

I've come back to my initial question.

"What did I want to do?"

[trilling]

I've come back to the point
of asking myself

why I wanted to do this.

[RM] If the sole purpose of my twenties

was to explore outside of the norm
to get us to a certain position

and give ourselves an identity,

I think the purpose of my thirties

would be to discover myself.

[Jin] The burn I got earlier hurts.

- You got burned?
- Does it really hurt?

I'm too lazy.

I tried to endure it
when I tore a ligament.

[friend 1 laughs]
I don't think that's how that works.

I tried to power through,
but my friends sent me to a doctor.

[friend 1] Of course. That's good.

Then the doctor told me
that I had torn my ligament.

It would have been really bad
if I had tried to endure it.

You wouldn't be able
to use your finger then.

You told your parents
I had nothing to do with it, right?

My mother likes Gunhan though.

She believes that I was able to debut

because I hung out with him
instead of studying.

[Jin] We meet up
about six times a week when we can.

About once or twice a week

when we're too busy.

[Jin] When I'm out working,
they'll hang out at my house

playing video games

and greet me when I get home.

When I leave the house,
they hang out among themselves and leave.

I know a few celebrities,

and they all say
that friends like that are rare.

I'm glad and relieved.

[Jung Kook] I'm going to a place
that helps me manage my body and aptitude.

I'm on my way to get an IV.

This is the raw,

Whenever I'm on break,

I go to the hospital.

I didn't expect my first scheduled event

to be that big.

my first solo performance to be this big.

And I think we had about 70 dancers.

I just want to live a wonderful life,

together with my people.

I'm not letting go of BTS though.

Of course, BTS would come first.

If there comes a time
to gather together as a team again,

I'll return immediately.

The more impatient you are,

I always hope that BTS can stay a team

I believe BTS' next step

is to keep things going
regardless of what happens.

And regardless of the process,

I believe it would be meaningful and great
if we stayed united.

I occasionally have sudden thoughts about
how or why I'm like this right now.

I wonder how I've gotten here.

I used to live in a place called
Ildong Apartments

back in Mandeok, Busan.

I would compare my life now
to what it was back then

and think, "Is this right?"
[chuckles]

"Am I really living here?"

It doesn't feel real sometimes.

When we were trainees,
and during the time when we just debuted,

we lived in small spaces
where there were a lot of mosquitoes.

It was really hot,
and we barely had any clothes.

We had a lot of fun,
and it was lively, but�

Nowadays, when I'm by myself,

I start to realize
that we did a lot together.

I talk about the past a lot
with my friends.

We would talk about
how we used to do certain things

or how we used to be then.

It's a bit surreal
that I've come this far.

I believe we overcame everything
because we had more happy days.

But if there had been more hard days,

it wouldn't have been easy
to remember those happy moments.

But I experienced a lot of happy moments,

and I'm here thanks to those moments.

I believe those moments
helped me overcome my troubles.

[Jung Kook]
I can't clearly state how I lived.

I just didn't want to leave myself alone.

I was worried that I was using up
the things I had built up within myself,

that they were disappearing.

I've found out that
it's not good for me to just rest.

I tend to stop planning for my future.

Instead of being busy
just to achieve a goal,

I want to be busy

doing what's fun for me
and what I want to do.

I'm thinking about living my life
like a trainee again.

[Jimin] There were times I worked hard

because I wanted our team
to be successful together,

times when I was forced to do it
by someone else,

and times when I did it out of arrogance.

I went through a lot of processes
to come this far.

[Jimin] I believe that now is the time
to try a lot of different things.

I want to do something that's more fun
than laborious.

You excited about your new solo album?

Yeah.

It's going to be big hits, big tunes.

I still go crazy about my BTS members
being late to things.

to live without being with the team.

And it's not like something bad
will happen if we're not together.

There are different things
each of us wants for ourselves.

We should cheer one another on

while we pay attention to the things

we need to do together.

Then I think we'll get one step closer

to finding happiness in our lives.

There is nothing I want from them,

whether it be tangible or in quantity.

They just need
to live their lives as artists.

The only thing I want

is that no matter how much time passes,
the members and I continue to love music

and meet up occasionally
to talk about it and have fun.

I think the natural results
of their choices are important.

It's important that those results
lead to individual happiness

and satisfaction from
making the right decisions.

or to dedicate to the fans.

I see that many things have happened.

I talked to my parents,

my friends, the other members,

and even our fans.

Like other artists,

I think that's how we were able to grow.

What does D-Day mean to you?
