[Episode 18]

Do you realize that it takes five to ten years to ascend in cultivation?

The Tower Battle is in days.

How do you plan on getting through it without the Nirvana Heart?

This is a catastrophic moment in her life.

If she really is the Emblem Protector, she will get through this herself.

We don't need you to be Guild Master!

We don't need you anymore. You're free to leave Yan City!

Go!

Master Yan!

Master Yan!

Master Yan! It was my fault.

Listen to me!

Master Yan!

Can you...

- Master Yan-- - Move!

- Master Yan... - Hold on!

Give me a moment to breathe!

Master Yan, don't be mad. It's my fault.

I failed as Emblem Protector.

My throat is all sore from screaming!

Never mind.

You're the one who got the Nirvana Heart out of the tomb anyway.

And you used it to save the guild's disciples.

It was destined to be yours.

Besides, what's happened has happened. We're at a point of no return now.

I do have one request for you.

I hope you'll agree to it.

I wouldn't dare to deny your orders.

You and Xuan Su are the same.

You were biased against him before, but then he ended up saving you.

That must make you feel frustrated.

I...

The Nirvana Heart is an extremely rare treasure.

Others would do anything to get their hands on it.

The fact that he used it to help you shows his dedication to you.

So I hope that you can set your prejudices aside and take care of him.

You mean, you're not kicking him out?

There are many powerful cultivators in the world.

But not many are nearly as devoted and loyal as he is.

A good piece of jade...

needs to be smoothed properly.

Besides, you're the only one capable of guarding him.

We...

It seems that waiting for the Tower Battle is the only way.

We...

What was that for?

If the guild doesn't want you, the Dao Sect does.

It's not a total loss.

- Who says I'm going to Dao Sect? - You got kicked out!

Why are you still being stubborn?

Honestly, leaving isn't such a big deal.

I just have the feeling that the old man has more to say to me.

I suppose. It's a bit humiliating for the pervert Lin Dong to be fired in public.

Who are you calling a pervert?

You dragged a girl to the roof in the middle of the night.

What are you, if not a pervert?

Next time, I'll drag you up there.

Where are you going?

One must take responsibility for his mistakes!

I have to go do that!

When you and Lin Dong...

were in the ancient tomb...

Master Yan!

You could call it a match made in Heaven.

Master Yan! That concerns my reputation, please have mercy.

All right.

- Then about my request-- - I give you my word!

Good.

Come on. I believe Lin Dong is about to put on a show for us.

Come along.

- Ling Qing Zhu's powers regressed? - I'm training Lin Dong now.

It isn't convenient for me to enter their hidden treasury

or Master Yan's room as of yet.

There's no rush.

The Tower Battle is coming up.

Both Ghost Puppet Sect and Emblem Master Guild care greatly for it.

There may be a turn of events.

Senior Mu, what about Ghost Puppet Sect?

Is there news of the Absorption Ancestral Emblem's whereabouts?

I've already sent a man to investigate.

The Emblem acknowledged Lin Dong as its master.

As of yet, Teng Lei isn't capable of manipulating it.

You... keep watch over Lin Dong.

Once I win the Tower Battle and locate the other Ancestral Emblems

you and I can be heroes together!

Senior Mu, do you recall our agreement?

When the time comes, don't hurt Lin Dong.

It's not like I'm evil. We're all trying to purge the Yimo.

It's just that I want you to be the one to do the job.

Senior Mu, your plan is much better.

I'm no match.

What do you know?

Know yourself, know thy enemy. That's how you win.

Getting the Nirvana Heart likens Emblem Master Guild to a fierce tiger.

Lin Dong's powers will strengthen exponentially.

The important thing is...

how will you earn the Absorption Ancestral Emblem's acknowledgment?

You are wise.

Senior, the Tower Battle is soon.

I think it's best to make Mystical Item House as chaotic as possible.

I want to stir things up a bit more.

So...

What are you, a god of entryways?

I've said everything that needs to be said. Why are you still here?

To apologize, why else?

To apologize... for what?

My first mistake.

I decided to be Guild Master for personal reasons.

You know about that.

My second mistake was a huge one.

My carelessness caused several disciples to get injured.

My third mistake!

As Guild Master, I should've focused on training

but I kept being lazy and taking shortcuts!

My fourth mistake!

I really can't think of anything else, why don't you help me out?

Oh, I will. Let go!

I'm going to hit you!

You... let go!

Let go!

It's almost time for the Tower Battle.

You can apologize to me after it's over.

Master Yan, let me finish. I made many more mistakes!

I can't be forgiven! I've committed the worst of sins!

I shouldn't be Guild Master!

Lin Dong!

- He said to apologize after the battle! - I understood.

Master Yan, how do I win the Tower Battle?

What do you mean you shouldn't be Guild Master?

You are the Guild Master! You shouldn't be this kind of Guild Master!

As for winning the Tower Battle...

There are ways, but you'll have to suffer.

Suffer?

Lin Dong! Lin Dong!

Lin Dong, Qing Tan disappeared!

You may have come back alive

but I won't let you off so easily at the Emblem Master Tower.

Ghost Puppet Sect is purposely trying to distract you.

Don't fall for it!

Master Yan, I'm sorry.

Lin Dong!

- Move. - You want to leave after everything?

This battle happens only once a year.

If they get the Ancestral Stone--

Don't trade Qing Tan's life for a stone!

I would rather not be Guild Master than let anyone touch a hair on her head!

Move!

All right. Fine.

- Keep the Guild Master here! - Xuan Su!

Wait!

Lin Dong! You enter the tower with Master Yan.

I'll go save Qing Tan.

They'll be keeping an eye out for guild members.

As an outsider, I'll be able to catch them off guard.

Don't forget... Qing Tan is my sister too.

Lin Dong, I don't trust him.

Wait!

That won't do!

A hero's brother is also a hero!

Take that. Be careful.

I think you'll need it more than me.

I'm Guild Master. I have men.

You trust me with this?

I have to.

We'll be brothers forever!

Master Yan.

Whether I follow you, save my sister, or kill the Yimo...

I don't have room to turn back anymore.

- You're exhausting! Why are you so-- - Is that the Lin girl?

Senior Mu, you're like a god.

How did you find me all the way out here?

Senior Mu...

Don't kill her! She's my hostage.

This energy is from Darkness Palace.

How is the Darkness Ancestral Emblem connected to her?

- Senior! - I got it!

Listen, that girl is precious. Watch over her carefully.

- Don't lose her. - Precious?

Senior, she's dry and rough. How is this precious?

In my heart...

Senior, you're the precious one.

You're a flatterer.

Why don't I give you a few more treasures?

- All right? - Yes.

Senior Mu.

Who are those people?

For you to practice with.

So you don't lose the battle too shamefully.

Nonsense!

For me to practice with...

Senior Mu, just wait. You'll see how I deal with that brat.

Senior Mu!

Senior Mu, look at me!

Master Yan! Master Yan! Master Yan!

How do you want me to suffer?

The only way to reach the Heavenly Yuan Stage in such a short time

is to temper your body with thunder.

Thunder?

You don't mean... for me to be struck by light--

Yes!

I'm seriously supposed to get struck by lightning?

The thunder here is formidable. My Yuan pill is inside you.

I'll draw the thunder to shatter your body

and open up at least 24 of your meridians.

In three days and three nights, if you are fortunate enough...

my Yuan pill may help you reach the Heavenly Yuan Stage.

At the same time, you can form your thunderbolt core

which will heighten your defense.

I have to endure lightning for three days and three nights?

Is it my fault that you gave up the easy path and chose the hard one?

Wish yourself luck.

If you're afraid...

it's not too late to give up.

My hair... will it...

Will it be totally fried? Will my clothes be cut into pieces?

I'll definitely be emitting smoke.

You don't even know what will happen to you

but you're worried about your hair and clothing?

Since it has come to this...

It's just thunder. I can handle it.

- Let's begin. - Let's begin!

I hope you can make it through this Trial of Thunder.

How can you just leave like that?

Who will clean up my body if I get killed?

There won't be a body to clean up if the thunder gets you.

You're awake! Bless everyone! Bless the talisman! Bless the heavens!

Lin Dong!

Don't!

This process is extreme.

You'll get hurt!

You're so blessed!

He's so stubborn but he's willing to do anything for you.

But you don't care at all!

What is the purpose of love when the Yimo haven't been killed?

You're so coldblooded!

I'd be happy to die if someone cared this much for me.

Shouldn't you go check on him?

No.

He'll return himsel if he's successful.

Ascending in cultivation depends partly on effort and partly on fate.

Even if I had time to wait for him, the disciples don't.

The guild doesn't either.

Then... the Tower Battle tomorrow...

- If he doesn't return, I will-- - How is that a possibility?

You're still injured!

Not to mention your Yuan pill is in Lin Dong!

Emblem Master Guild can't lose face, no matter what.

Who was it that said he didn't want to be the hero?

If something happens to you, what about me? And the guild?

No matter how cowardly I may be...

I can't cower behind a woman, can I?

No! I won't let you go.

You lose to people, not to formations.

This is a battle that must be fought.

Master Yan, you judged wrong this time!

He might as well make himself a coffin and bury himself!

Sect Master, Young Sect Master Lei is ready in Yan City.

It's time we head out.

This time, the Ancestral Stone is as good as mine.

Give the command. We'll leave for Yan City!

Yes.

What has made you so happy?

Your Majesty, didn't you say human hearts were the most difficult to handle?

But they're also the most mysterious!

I just learned today that humans would even be fools just for love!

- It seems you enjoyed a good show. - Of course!

You have no idea. That Lin Dong...

He ruined his own future for a woman!

All the Emblem Master Guild has left is an injured old general.

When that old man dies, the tree will topple and the monkeys will scatter.

We'll find out the locations of the other Emblems then.

I'd imagined it to be harder than it was.

But it took no effort at all!

This thunder is too intense, isn't it?

Ling Qing Zhu! You're the Emblem Protector!

If you don't check on that brat, he's going to be torn apart by thunder!

Listen to the thunder!

Come on. Keep going!

I don't believe you can kill me!

How come there's no movement out there?

He didn't die for real, did he?

Ling Qing Zhu, are you going or not?

Ling Qing Zhu, if you won't, I will!

I'll go if you won't!

Lin Dong!

Lin Dong!

Lin Dong! Lin Dong!

Do you want to die? Lin Dong!

Lin Dong, wake up!

Come on. Let's go back. Let's go!

Lin Dong!

Don't you have nine lives?

Don't play around!

Lin Dong!

- Lin Dong! - Huan Huan.

Stop moving him. That won't help him.

You could at least help me!

You two are in the same doomed boat. If he doesn't make it, you won't either!

Lin Dong!

- Lin Dong! - Don't move him.

He has a meridian that hasn't been cleared.

He needs external help.

Help me.

Bear with it.

Lin Dong. Lin Dong!

The Yuan pill is tempering his body!

Yang energy is flowing through him. He's ascending!

Today is the Tower Battle. We will not return unless victorious!

Lei, you must be cautious during the battle today.

Father, don't fret.

I'm fully prepared.

I won't let Lin Dong out of the tower alive.

The Ancestral Stone must be taken and the successor must die.

Master Yan, let's wait a bit longer.

Waiting will mess with the heart and make death inevitable.

There is still hope. We will not wait.

When we arrive, help me arrange my clothing.

Lin Dong! Lin Dong! Hit... Master!

- Hit what master? - What's happening?

I don't know. He said it.

The... The Master! He left!

What are you doing back?

Didn't I tell you to stay in the talisman to spy on them?

You asshole!

Do you know how much effort I put into coming back to help you?

But you don't need me anyway, Master Yan went in your place.

That old man is really putting on a brave face!

He hasn't even healed yet!

Father... that kid didn't come.

What is Emblem Master Guild doing?

Master Yan! Where is that arrogant disciple of yours?

Why isn't he here?

That's right, Master Yan.

I thought you had retired.

Why did you go to the trouble of setting formations yourself?

My disciple is fighting the Yimo.

As his master, I'm setting things up for him.

You really aren't giving me any face.

We agreed to leave this chance to the young ones.

How can my son demonstrate the extent of his abilities now?

I have no choice.

I'm not so old that I can't walk.

Saying more is pointless.

We'll see what happens inside the tower.

Sect Master Teng... open the tower.

Then, please.

I won't let you go! I'll go.

- You're a doll, where are you going? - I said that I'm going!

Emblem Master Guild is really in dire condition.

Sending a woman to battle.

Who says we're in dire condition? The Guild Master is right here!

Master Yan!

Why are you dealing with scum like Teng Lei?

I can handle it!

Old man, why did you come?

You've embarrassed me!

You should be punished!

I acknowledge that.

Your punishment is to wait here and not do anything.

I'll set the formation for the Tower Battle myself.

Your order is my command!

You're quite arrogant!

It seems that anyone can be Guild Master of Emblem Master Guild!

It's over for them.

This works.

We can follow tradition

and have the Guild Master dictate the Spiritual Movement Manual

to awaken the guards of the tower and have them open it.

- Me? - Guild Master Lin Dong!

- Go ahead! - I haven't memorized it yet!

There's no harm in trying.

What, do you not know it?

As expected. Even someone with talent would need half a year to memorize it.

Someone as dimwitted as you would probably have trouble with a bit of it.

But as Guild Master, you don't know the Manual and you want to open the tower?

What a joke!

Yes, what a joke!

Fight if it's a battle. What's with this memorization test?

Young Sect Master Teng, I'm not you.

Forget half a year. I memorized it in half a day!

Why don't I let you bear witness?

The spirit is split into Yin and Yang. Spiritual movement begins with life.

- The spirit is split into Yin and Yang. - But Master Yan...

Why don't I see the tower?

It will appear after he's finished reciting.

These seniors are all guards of the tower?

The Emblem Master Tower is forged from the Spirit Power of past Emblem Masters.

They spend their lives living out here in the open.

Their one and only duty is to protect Emblem Master Tower.

That's so harsh.

But how... how does one open the tower?

Fight.

Don't tell me it will rise from the ground?

Lady Ying, you're a smart one.

- The Ancestral Stone is at the top? - Yes.

But the tower is very dangerous. No one has ever reached the top.

Lin Dong!

Why do you keep reciting the same line?

Then Lin Dong-- He'll--

Then he's supposed to accomplish something Master Yan hasn't even done?

Master Yan, is he capable?

Begins with life...

Clear all disposition. Converge the primordial spirit.

How do you know the Spiritual Movement Manual?

You idiot, obviously to help you!

Why should I memorize something this boring and long?

The Guild Master is supposed to recite it to open the tower.

Even if Lin Dong comes back in time tomorrow

he probably won't be able to recite the whole thing.

Ghost Puppet Sect will take advantage of that.

You'll have to help him.

But I can't memorize this much in one night.

Aren't you the Celestial Demon Marten?

I'm sure you have your ways.

That I do.

But is there another Transformation Pill in this place?

- If you do, I'll help. - There's no more.

- Then why should I? - We're all gambling.

Think about it carefully. If you want to place a bet...

It really is a lot.

I suggest you start memorizing now.

The spirit is split into Yin and Yang. Spiritual movement begins with life.

That old man really planned for everything.

They've begun to kill each other off.

You people only care about winning and losing!

Do any of you care about Lin Dong?

You have to believe in him for him to live!
