[Episode 9]

You're the one who provoked the Lei family and put Qing Tan in danger.

You're the one who kept the stone talisman and lured the Yimo here.

You're the one whose cultivation is so weak, you can't protect your family!

Does that mean my father and I deserved to be used by you?

What are you doing?

Lin Lang Tian.

It doesn't matter whether it's a few years or a few decades.

One day... I will beat you.

Don't tell me you didn't have any personal interest to find the Yimo.

But you're hiding here for your own safety. What does that amount to?

That's enough!

Mistress, Qing Zhu always speaks irresponsibly.

Besides, she risked her life to capture the Yimo

which paints our palace in a good light.

I beg you to have mercy.

Am I supposed to be grateful for her contributions?

Nine Heavens Purity Palace...

has no need for those who don't abide by the rules.

From this day forth, Ling Qing Zhu is no longer a member of the palace.

You can go find your own way.

Mistress, Junior Qing Zhu's father has been missing for years.

She's his daughter, her actions are understandable.

What's the use of looking for a person

who betrayed the righteous path for the Yimo?

Your diligence could've offset his behavior.

How am I to forgive such impetuousness?

Mistress, that is my father!

He's my father, regardless of whether he's a demon or a person!

I just want an answer, whether he's dead or not!

Then go look for your answer. You don't have to call me Mistress in the future.

- Mistress-- - Be quiet.

Senior, don't beg her on my behalf.

Get up.

Qing Zhu!

Mistress.

I thank you for guiding me all these years.

Qing Zhu! Don't be rash!

Palace Mistress, Ling Su Su is here. She is kneeling outside the hall.

Mother, get up!

Why are you kneeling here?

Get up, Mother!

Palace Mistress!

My daughter Qing Zhu was wrong to leave the palace on her own accord

but please have mercy on her as she was determined to destroy the Yimo!

If Nine Heavens Purity Palace's rules

could be so easily changed by a lowly servant...

where would we place our dignity?

Mother, I did nothing wrong.

- We didn't do anything wrong! We didn't! - Qing Zhu!

You must admit your wrongdoing.

Apologize to Palace Mistress and beg for her forgiveness, all right?

I acted wrongfully. Please punish me as you see fit.

I acted wrongfully!

Mistress, please have mercy!

Be quiet.

You will isolate yourself in the Water Reverence Flower Formation.

If you show true repentance, you may ask for forgiveness then.

Mistress! Only those above the Yuan Dan Stage can enter that formation!

It is filled with Yin energy and bone-chilling cold!

Qing Zhu is just a Heavenly Yuan practitioner and she's injured!

She might-- Mistress!

- Mistress! Mistress! - Mother!

I'll take responsibility for my own errors.

You don't have to humiliate yourself like this.

How can I bear to see you resort to this for my sake?

I heard that Ling Su Su, the woman out there

nearly became the Palace Mistress.

- Really? - Her husband went over to the Yimo.

- That's how she ended up a servant. - No wonder the Mistress was merciless.

- She's Yimo spawn. - Like father, like daughter.

Look at the way she constantly breaks palace rules.

- She's rebellious like her father. - Why would she stay here?

- She acts all righteous. - Her father has nothing to do with her.

To be honest, I admire her.

- She can handle a lot. - She's quite pitiful.

- The Mistress went overboard today. - Are you stupid?

She could be the next Palace Mistress. You should pity yourself.

Who cares? Does being Palace Mistress mean that you don't need a father?

Who cares who your father is when you're the Mistress?

Qing Zhu.

You're at a crucial stage of the Yuan pill formation.

Remember, clear your heart of distractions.

You must be careful!

Focusing is easier said than done.

I have a traitor's blood running through me.

How can you say that?

- It's enough that others say it. You-- - Then tell me the truth!

Why has he hid all these years?

Why hasn't he done anything for you or spoken up for you?

Sometimes, I wish for news of his death. Let all this be over!

Just pretend he's dead. It's for the best.

Mother! I don't want to see you constantly humiliated. I can't stand it!

I have to find him.

I have to clear your name!

Qing Zhu. The more you try to justify things, the more gossip there will be.

It will just add to your frustrations.

Let go of your hatred. Focus on your cultivation.

Qing Zhu has grown up.

It happened in a flash.

Yes. Time passes by so quickly.

She's grown up. She doesn't listen to me anymore.

Senior, I spoke too harshly outside the hall earlier.

This is a crucial time for Qing Zhu's ascension into the Yuan Dan Stage.

That stubborn zealousness in her is her motivation.

The Water Reverence Formation will aid her.

I understand your efforts.

- This palace should be yours. - No.

When that person committed his crimes...

you punished me severely and firmly.

To outsiders, you protected Purity Palace's dignity

and privately, you saved my daughter's life and my life.

You were much more thorough than me.

You're still waiting for him.

- What if he really went over to them? - If he has done nothing wrong...

my admission of it on his behalf is his greatest protection.

The Yimo have returned.

You may get your answer soon.

- Senior. - Don't talk.

Senior, the demonic power is strong.

Be careful.

Focus your energy.

Strange.

Why is there such a deadly Yin energy inside him?

Look at you. So desperate to seek a private audience with the sect masters.

You could have died if I hadn't come right on time.

I...

Don't assume that I don't know what you intended to do.

The Lei family suffered greatly from the Yimo attack.

Naturally, the Lin family would be the ones to benefit from it.

I'll speak to the masters on your behalf.

I've always cared greatly for your matters.

By the way...

I felt an excessively overbearing Yuan Power within you just now.

It is this Yuan Power that subdued the Seventh Seat King

and allowed you to return safely.

Lang Tian.

Did you have any strange encounters on your journey?

- You mean... - I mean...

Did you encounter any people?

Women, in particular.

Nine Heavens Purity Palace and Dao Sect was there too.

There were a lot of new faces in Qingyang.

I encountered too many people, so no one comes to mind yet.

So you don't know where the Absorption Ancestral Emblem is either?

My brother obtained a stone talisman that greatly increased his powers.

I was in a rush to subdue the Seventh Seat King

so I forgot to ask him in detail.

That was an oversight on your part.

The Ancestral Emblem is much more formidable.

All that's left of the Seventh Seat King now is a spirit rock

but it requires the Ancestral Emblem to be destroyed in its entirety.

Do you understand?

Never mind.

You're hurt. We'll discuss this after you've healed.

Ling Zhen is brave but brainless.

In a few more years, he won't be a match for you.

I can't wait that long.

Let me out! Let me out!

You've already lost to the mortals.

You should stay here obediently and wait for my arrangements.

That kid has the Absorption Ancestral Emblem!

How will you handle him?

Greetings, Emperor.

Now that we have the Lei family's Yuan Power...

this map is becoming more clear.

It isn't time to rejoice yet.

I am still just a silhouette.

We do not know the whereabouts of my physical body.

Every day that I am stuck here is another day that I am being suppressed.

Emperor, there's no need for you to fear the mortals.

I've spent a long time in the mortal realm.

I find that humans are quite contradictory.

They're brave and work hard.

They've developed this massive world before us.

But they're also insatiable and selfish.

They quarrel to the death over the most trivial matters for personal gain.

Which, in turn, gives us an endless source of energy.

Behold.

We obtained the whole Lei family's Yuan Power by just giving them a little push.

I believe that we will locate the seal very soon

and be able to welcome you back into the world.

But you have not obtained the Absorption Ancestral Emblem.

And you've begun to reek of humans.

I can't maintain my form for long

so I had to send Lin Lang Tian to Qingyang.

Forget that, Emperor.

That junior of yours has a girl with him.

She's filled with a demon-killing chill.

Even I had to work to avoid it, yet you still trust him so--

- What girl?- Did he not tell you?

I told you before that humans can't be trusted.

The kid with the talisman is worse.

Number Seven.

Could you not tell that that power came from the Palace of Darkness?

Recognizing it is useless.

Getting the talisman is what matters.

I need all eight Ancestral Emblems to remove the seal on my body.

Lin Lang Tian is incredibly ambitious.

As long as I manipulate him a little, he will come to be of great use.

The Absorption Ancestral Emblem has turned up.

That means the other Emblems will appear soon.

I will put all my effort into locating all of them.

I'm very interested in opponents who do not fear death.

What is the name of the one who possesses the Absorption Emblem?

- Lin Dong.- Lin Dong...

Are you tired?

Lin Dong, is Yan City up ahead?

Possibly. I don't remember.

Lin Dong, look! It is!

You must be hungry. Hurry, I'll buy you some food.

All right!

Lin Dong, remember Father brought us here once?

It was so lively and crowded back then.

It feels so barren now.

It's gotten a lot quieter.

I'm sure Yan City's people heard about the Yimo in Qingyang Town.

They probably panicked and fled.

They've lived the good life for too long.

It's natural that they'd fear death.

Good thing we left the Fire Python Tiger in the forests beyond the city.

Otherwise, if he were to just strut in...

Everyone in the street would freak out!

If only Lang Tian was here.

Don't mention him again.

I keep thinking that we're being followed.

Who would follow us?

The Yimo?

- Didn't Lang Tian already-- - Don't mention the Yimo again.

Or Lin Lang Tian.

Sir! Sir!

Sir, sir!

Why do I feel like we've seen this person before?

Lass, I look familiar, don't I?

The one in Qingyang is my Sister, Forty-Eight.

I'm her elder brother. Mister Fourteen.

Yan City is my territory. If you ever need anything, call me.

You must come from a huge family. You both look exactly the same.

And you're all over!

Where there are travelers, we're there.

We're petite, but kind and intuitive.

Our abilities are unmatched by anyone!

If you need a place to stay, you can't go wrong coming to me!

Dear guests, someone bought a room for you at the Yan City Inn up ahead.

A room for us?

Who?

Need directions? Need to find someone? I'll take you through a door over yonder.

One piece of info, one Yang Yuan stone.

When did this become a business deal?

A bowl of rice, a bowl of noodles, your money pays for my meals!

I need money!

I'll give you a Yang Yuan stone, but I'd like to change my question.

Where is Mystical Item House?

Do not worry, do not fret. There!

That's where it is!

Right there.

Thanks.

You're very welcome!

What are you doing?

Thanks again. Save our room. We'll listen to your songs when we return.

Certainly! Certainly!

You're welcome!

He's so openminded. He didn't even ask who arranged the room for him.

That idiot? He isn't afraid of being kidnapped and sold.

Lady Ying, will you wait for him to come back?

Of course.

If that old man won't take him in, I'm bringing him back to Dao Sect.

Yan City is so big. What is there to do and eat? Tell me!

I want to go explore!

Need directions? Need to find someone? I'll take you through a door over yonder.

One piece of info, one Yang Yuan stone.

You're going to give me that?

- How many stones have you earned? - My old bones!

- My stone! - You should give me one!

You crazy girl! My Yang Yuan stone!

- Come and get it! - Lass! Lass!

- Want it? Come and get it! - Lass, my stone! My stone!

- Lass, that's my stone! - What do you mean?

- You got it from me! - My bones!

- Lass! - Come and get it!

My heavens...

Lin Dong, come over here.

Look! Hurry.

Lift me, I can't see.

Here we go!

It's so pretty!

Young sir, we have a great many mystical objects. What would you like?

I'm looking for a chatty old man who's more inappropriate than I am.

There is no such person here.

- No? - No.

Take a look at this.

Then tell me if there isn't.

Look! These are...

They're all floating! This place is so magnificent!

It's so mysterious, right?

It's not mysterious, it's strange.

Do you remember the old man saying he was from the Emblem Master Guild?

Why has he begun trading and selling?

And all mystical objects too.

Plus, this is a large business.

Mystical Item House's things are priceless.

Do not touch.

Who is that?

Lin Dong!

W-- Where does it say you can't touch?

That shopkeeper let us look around.

All right, you can touch.

But you must purchase whatever you touch.

The weapon in your left hand is worth around 300 Yang Yuan stones.

The Earthly Spirit Stone in your left hand is 1,000 stones.

And the 10,000 Year Cure behind you.

3,000 stones.

That's insane!

- Why? - What else should I introduce you to?

We won't touch, all right?

What is this, the black market? I'm not here to purchase anything.

I'm here to see someone!

Master Yan is not here. You can leave.

That old man personally told me to come find him if I had nowhere else to go.

I'll say it again Master Yan isn't here. You can leave.

- When will he be back? - I can't say.

Your sights will expand and you will see more of the world.

You don't intend on staying in Qingyang forever, do you?

Liars!

An old swindler and a female swindler!

Report, Master. Master Yan of the Emblem Master Guild wants to see you.

You may go.

Wait.

Call the disciples into formation.

I want a master of the Emblem Master Guild to see

how an orthodox Emblem Master should be.

Master Yan, I trust that you have been well.

Your Emblem Puppet magic has reached sublime levels.

The nation values martial spirit. There's a saying, you know.

The person whose fist is more durable becomes the leader.

This time, the Ghost Puppet Sect should be heralded as the true Guild, no?

The Emblem Master Guild and the Ghost Puppet Sect share the same origins.

Neither is more orthodox than the other.

The Yimo have returned, chaos will soon descend.

I've come to discuss the matter of purging the Yimo with you.

Yimo?

Haven't the three sects' disciples dealt with it?

You must know that there is more than one.

If that's the case

why not have the Emblem Master Tower retrieve the Ancestral Stone

and call on the Emblem Masters to find the Ancestral Emblems to fight the Yimo?

The Emblem Ancestor left word that we must find his successor.

He is the one who's to retrieve the Ancestral Stone.

Master Yan.

You're such a stickler for the rules.

The Yimo could destroy your guild before you even find the successor!

The Emblem Ancestor created the eight Emblems

with the laws of Heaven and Earth.

If this massive power is used wrongly, it could cause much greater troubles.

The Emblem Master Guild has remained hidden all these years

all to avoid great trouble.

The rules have been set, so we must abide by them.

Not to mention, there is news of the successor.

The successor?

All your disciples either went back home or became merchants.

What other candidates are there?

The annual Emblem Master Tower Battle is fast approaching.

I'm going to be frank with you.

Not only does my sect plan on coming out victorious...

we also plan on getting the Ancestral Stone back.

You can be stubborn all you want

but by then, it may not be up to you anymore.

We will see, when the time comes.

We'll discuss this then.

Run! Hurry!

Hurry!

- Run, quickly! - Get out of here!

Yimo! How bold of you to attack me here!

You run quite fast.

Master Yan, that kid came to find us.

You see? The fish has nowhere the go.

It has come for food.

Great.

The show is about to begin.

How dare that old man put on airs with me?

Let's see how long you can dawdle around like that!

Good! Good going, son!

Your Emblem Puppet magic succeeded in one move.

How did you manage it?

Father.

I'm able to create such a high level puppet thanks to a Yuan Gate expert.

Yuan Gate? What do they have to do with us?

Father! A Yimo showed up in the city!

Who are you?

Who are you? How dare you impersonate me?

Elder Mu Qian Qian of the Yuan Gate.

Greetings, Sect Master Teng, Young Sect Master.

Sorry for offending you.

Lei! Focus your energy, don't be distracted!

It appears that Young Sect Master requires more training

to catch up to his father's abilities.

Might I ask how you're able to control the Ghost Puppet Sect's puppets?

How is that difficult?

I saw you demonstrating earlier and decided to learn it myself.

I'm just an amateur.

The Great Sects really don't place anyone in their sights.

Why has one of Yuan Gate's three little kings

come uninvited and stolen our secret arts?

It's my fault for being so rude and causing you to misunderstand.

I'd like to become allies with the Ghost Puppet Sect.

Allies?

Emblem Master Guild has already located the Absorption Emblem from Qingyang.

You heard about this, right?

The Absorption Ancestral Emblem?

Father!

Master Yan said that we would fight the Yimo together.

- He lied to us! - That's right.

If Ghost Puppet Sect wants everyone

to believe them to be the best Emblem Masters...

how can you let that old man keep everyone in the dark?

Elder Mu, you may not know...

but there are many groups of Emblem Masters in the world.

The one who enters the Emblem Master Tower and retrieves the Ancestral Stone

becomes the true Emblem Master Guild.

Skirting this centuries-old rule is not a simple task.

That is my point.

That's why you need Yuan Gate.

I-- I think Senior Mu is right.

How do we not compare to Emblem Master Guild?

But they keep suppressing us!

Think about it. Even though the Emblem Ancestor beat the Yimo...

they all say that when he arrived, chaos was everywhere.

Everyone tried to run wherever he appeared.

Besides, we've been at peace for so long.

Who still remembers what he did?

Who would respect him?

Why don't we use this opportunity to fight?

Father, think about it.

Don't you want Ghost Puppet Sect to grow and expand in our hands?

I'm curious as to why Yuan Gate would choose us as allies.

The Yimo have arrived, and so has the Ancestral Emblem.

When peace gives way to chaos, everything in the world will change.

How can we keep ourselves out of it?

Not to mention, Yuan Gate knows how to make choices and who to work with.

Emblem Master Guild's days are numbered.

But the Ancestral Emblem will be passed down.

We need not interfere, only join hands.

To express my sincerity, I will gift you a method to increase your powers.

What method would that be?

Father, come look.

Son, have you gone mad?

Lei!

Ghost Puppet Sect has always controlled wooden Emblem Puppets.

But wood is just wood.

Wood does not have true spirit.

People do... Sect Master Teng.

Swindling people is usually my game.

How did I end up being the one swindled?

This won't do. I can't take this.

But what else can we do at this point, besides wait?

I guess that's all we can do.

I have good news.

What good news could you have?

Nonsense.

The Yimo are demonic. We could be wiped out without a trace.

Yin Dragon Saliva?

We found it.
