Shes really worried that Hope is just gonna wall herself off

from everyone.

I think that Hope is in the deepest pain of her whole life,

and shes struggling.

I mean, we both are.

I guess Im just hoping that more and more each day, the pain

will subside and...

and well be able to see through the grief and heal, but...

Until then, you know, I think we all need to take our cues from

Hope.

But, I mean, its not just the two of them.

Uh, Sally kind of had an idea.

She thought maybe a -- a puppy might help.

I thought it was a little presumptuous, too.

I -- Like, I said, "I dont know if its a great idea, you know,

shes really raw right now," and...

I dont know, maybe Im wrong.

Maybe a cute, little, adorable puppy is exactly what Hope needs

I really thought that a puppy -- >> Hope: Stop! Just stop!

again, and Ill never be able to watch her grow up, and youre

really exciting, too, especially if youre a big-time designer

like Thorne.

>> Donna: Mm, and he gets to work with gorgeous models, too,

>> Thorne: Yes, but none of them are as gorgeous as your mother.

You hear about it all the time, the healing impact that animals

Its like when I was younger, and...

and my parents dropped my sister and me off at my Grams.

It really hurt, you know?

And we didnt want to be around anyone.

We just kept to ourselves in our room until, one day, my Grams

brought home this sweet little puppy.

And Coco and I...

We just instantly fell in love with him.

And not that a puppy made everything okay, because it

didnt, it just -- >> Hope: Oh, my God. Oh, my God.

>> Sally: [ Sighs ] Hope, I am trying to explain to

I am sorry that your parents abandoned you, and I am so glad

that a pet got you and your sister through a really tough

time, but our situations are nothing alike!

Liam and I created a life.

I had Beth living and growing inside of me.

I felt her every day.

And I was so excited to meet her, and when I finally got to

meet her, she was gone!

My babys gone forever.

I will never get to see her or hold her ever again, and no pet,

no puppy is going to change that.

SO if you could just please -- just take the puppy and go!

gonna own a bunch of ice cream stores.

buddy, um, Ill be the first one to tell you that making a lot of

money, that ranks right up there with cookies and cream ice

cream, and theres nothing quite like watching your empire grow.

But there are more important things in life, like...?

I just thought, I dont know, that if she saw the puppy and

she just looked at his adorable little face -- I mean, Hope is

an animal lover.

So I just was hoping that maybe, in some way, that it could help

ease some of her pain.
