Beth didnt even get to see daylight, and I dont understand

how that can happen, because she was fine inside of me.

it feels so unresolved.

I still feel like shes here, even though I know shes gone.

Um...so, listen -- So, Wyatt called me on my way

home, and he and Sally were thinking of stopping by.

I think it actually might be...

>> Emma: I cant imagine what Hope is going through.

The pain of losing a child?

>> Wyatt: Yeah -- again.

>> Wyatt: Yeah, uh, Hope -- Hope had a miscarriage a few years

back when she and I were married.

>> Sally: And now, to have another baby delivered

stillborn, I mean, it...

its almost too cruel.

I mean, its just awful that she has to go through this agony

twice, you know?

As strong as she is...

Im worried about her.

>> Bill: That is very cool.

We got to call your mom about getting you home.

You know what?

Ill come get Will right now.

>> Bill: You dont have to come over here.

Ill bring him to you.

>> Katie: Okay, then.

Ill -- Ill see you soon.

>> Thorne: What are you smiling about?

>> Katie: Oh, you know, Bills just really stepping up as a

father.

It makes me happy.

Im gonna check on dinner, okay?

>> Thorne: Okay.

something?

>> Bill: Of course.

You can ask me anything.

>> Will: Liams really sad cause he and Hope lost their

baby.

Well, we all are.

>> Will: What should I do?

I want to help.

So, do I say that or not even bring it up?

I dont want to make him feel worse.

>> Bill: Um, Im gonna give you my best advice, all right?

You just keep being the same caring and sensitive brother

youve always been.

And be especially nice to Hope.

Now, I dont want you to worry.

Liam and Hope are going through a hard time right now, but

theyre gonna come through it just fine eventually.

[ Breathes deeply ] Im so glad you came to see me.

That was easily the best part of my day.

>> Donna: Thanks again, guys, for letting me intrude on your

newly wedded bliss.

>> Katie: Oh, any time.

You can stay as long as you want.

>> Thorne: Youre earning your keep by helping out with Will,

>> Donna: Ah. As if thats a chore.

I mean, we have so much fun together.

Where is Will, anyway?

When I got back from Brookes, you guys were all gone.

>> Katie: Well, Will is spending some time with his father, and

we had some errands to run.

Did you see Hope when you were over at Brookes?

>> Donna: Uh, only briefly.

She excused herself and took a walk.

Brooke said that, um, shes been spending most of her time alone.

>> Thorne: Sounds about right.

>> Katie: Its so awful.

I wish there was something that could make it better.

♪♪ >> Hope: I dont know, Liam.

Im -- I dont think Im up for visitors.

>> Liam: I get it.

And I can tell Wyatt and Sally not to come, if you want, but...

I think that we should allow the people who love us -- who are

feeling kind of helpless right now, in light of what were

going through -- to be supportive.

>> Hope: All the support in the world wont bring Beth back.

>> Liam: Hey.

>> Wyatt: We should probably go before it gets too late, huh?

>> Emma: Oh, please tell them how sorry I am.

with the pain.

theres something wrong with her.

>> Katie: Because shes lost a baby before?

Well, we just have to make sure she doesnt go down that road.

in this cabin and never come out again.

I mean, believe me, that sounds really good to me, too.

But you know we cant do that.

>> Liam: Nobody is asking you to do that.

But what I am asking is that you dont fall so far into despair

that nobody can reach you.

I mean, we have to let the people that love us in.

These are our friends.

Theyre our family.

Thats what theyre for.

You may find more comfort in it than you think.

[ Knock on door ] Hi.

Uh, Sally should be here in a little bit.

Just wanted to say thanks for letting us stop by.

You know, its completely understandable if you just want

to be alone.

But...we want you to know that youre not.

I mean, theres a ton of people who are just waiting to help you

if you need them to, me and Sally included.

I mean, Liams been encouraging me to open up, to let people in,

especially after what weve been through.

you know, havent wanted to bring that up.

We lost a child, too.

You know, one minute, everything was normal, everything was fine,

and then, suddenly, I was in labor.

And I -- I never thought in a million years that I would lose

her.

Even under those circumstances, I thought she would be born.

But what did Beth do to deserve death with -- without even a

taste of life?

I dont understand, Wyatt.

Why...does this sweet, innocent little life have to be taken

away?

me, but I dont want to, uh, you know, impose on your mom.

I was gonna go home and have a nice bloody steak and count how

much money I made today.

But I would much rather stay and have dinner with my favorite

guy!

>> Will: Thanks for letting Dad stay.

>> Katie: Of course.

>> Bill: And Im pretty sure I heard your mom tell you to go

get washed up, huh?

>> Katie: Well, thats because she makes that assessment based

on the fact that you and Brooke are a disaster in the kitchen,

and Im guilty by association.

>> Donna: Hey!

>> Thorne: Yeah, Ill vouch for Katies culinary skills.

>> Katie: Thanks, babe.

>> Thorne: You bet.

>> Katie: Of course, I had to step up my game when Will was

born.

You know, um...we dont do this very often, but would you like

to say grace?

>> Will: Sure.

>> Thorne: Okay.

>> Donna: Okay.

>> Will: Thank you, God, for this food were about to eat,

for my family, and having Dad here for dinner.

Shes just a baby, and she didnt get to know her parents,

so shes probably feeling lost.

doing with a dog?

I used to volunteer at a rescue in the Valley, so I reached out

to them.

>> Wyatt: Oh, um...

>> Sally: Animals are healing, and they bring so much joy and

unconditional love, which is exactly what Hope needs right

now.

Look at his sweet little face.

>> Wyatt: I know. Come on, now.

Um, I just...

Look, this is an incredibly sweet gesture, but I just -- I

dont know if its a good idea to give Hope a puppy right now.

Shes really raw.

>> Sally: Okay.

But there are studies that show the benefits of just petting a

dog.

And look at his face.

I mean, you cannot tell me that hes not gonna cheer Hope up in

some way.

>> Wyatt: Oh, God, hes so adorable.

>> Sally: I know.
