formula over to the FDA for research.

formula, and...it could take years to get approval.

>> Jennifer: What? Years? What about drug trials?

too, but the FDA is nowhere near ready to test the drug on

humans. >> Jennifer: But Marlena used it

on Will, Kayla. I-it worked--he remembered,

But now the federal government is involved, and there is

protocol and procedures and bureaucracy.

I'm so sorry. >> Kate: Please don't tell me

Chad paid him $10,000 to show up.

But you know what, Kayla? As awkward as it was, at moments

I felt like we were really connecting.

And then the kids had to leave, so I just sat there with Jack

and I reminded him how much we loved each other and what a

great man he was. And just when I thought I was

getting through to him, Eve walked in and blew the whole

thing apart. >> Kayla: I'm so sorry.

>> Jennifer: I mean, that woman, she just--she went on and on

about how Jack would always leave me and the kids all the

time, and I just told him, I said, "Don't listen to her.

Just look at me, remember what I told you."

And then he just shut down and he made some crack about

accepting $10,000 and just left with Eve.

>> Kayla: [sighs] Must have been so painful.

>> Jennifer: No, you know what hurts, Kayla, is that the man I

love is choosing to be with a woman who's completely using

him. >> Eve: Well, of course I care

about you, Jack. Yes! Hell, I brought you back to

town so you could regain your memory.

>> Jack: As long as I don't remember certain things.

>> Eve: [scoffs] Oh, Jennifer. She's done a number on you,

hasn't she? She has convinced you that I'm

evil incarnate. Hah! And you can't trust a

word that I say. But I tell you what, Jack--

in this town you can trust, absolutely.

And Jennifer, she's jealous of that because she can't let go of

the past...and that so-called "great love" she keeps yapping

about. But the truth is, the two of you

were divorced twice. You were done.

And I get that your family is your past.

I get that. But it doesn't mean they have to

be your future. >> Jack: At the dinner that Chad

From the stories they told, it seemed like I was a good father

and a good husband, and the family seemed very close.

little more kindness. That she needed to start fresh

somewhere, make new memories instead of

living with these ghosts and resentment and the bitterness.

>> Jennifer: Judging by her attitude when she found us, I

don't think you got through to her, Kayla.

>> Kayla: I'm so sorry to hear that.

I really hoped that she was at least considering what I said.

And then JJ showed up and she learned about Jack being with

you and she just... flew out of there.

>> Jennifer: Of course. To ambush us.

She doesn't want Jack to be with his family, because when he is

with us and he sees how much we love him and he feels that,

he's gonna realize where he's supposed to be, and that is not

with her. >> Jack: You passed up a huge

job opportunity. >> Eve: Because you mean more to

me than some stupid career move. Jack...

I need to know that you believe me.

>> Jack: [sighs] I'm sorry.

I'm sorry I doubted you. You've done so much for me.

is up for re-election. >> Jack: Mayor Carver.
