All language subtitles for 27 - Choosing A Shopify Plan English

Okay.

So let's have a look at the plans that are on offer.

I suspect you've already done this already, but if you haven't, then you just need to click on that

select a plan button, which you can find a very easily, pretty much everywhere.

Now, the first thing I suggest you do is you change this from yearly to monthly.

In the beginning, I always think it's just better to pay on a month by month basis.

It gives you more flexibility moving forward.

Now we have three plans.

Let me just put this into the middle of the screen like this.

We have the basic we have what they call the Shopify plan and then we have the advanced Shopify plan.

Now, straight off the bat, you do not need you do not need this advanced Shopify plan.

You do not need to be spending $299 a month.

It is absolutely pointless at this stage.

And so therefore it comes down to a choice between the 29 a month and the 79 a month.

So let's just have a look at these in a little bit more detail.

So first of all, you see that it says all the basics for starting a new business.

So the basic plan really does give us everything we need here.

We have everything you need for a growing business.

We're not quite at the growing business stage yet, but it's good to know that we've got a plan that

we could grow into perhaps later on.

But right now it's already starting to look pretty good for the basic plan, I would say the cheapest

one.

And just to further verify that, let's have a look at the features.

So what we have here is up to two staff members now.

What is the staff member?

A staff member is somebody else that you can give authority to access your Shopify store.

Now, typically that might be a virtual assistant going forward.

You might want to get yourself a virtual assistant, somebody else to do all that product importing,

for example, when you can afford it, not right now, but when you can afford it at that point, when

it does make sense, being able to give somebody else access to the store is a really great and powerful

feature, but having to is absolutely fine.

For the time being.

You don't really need five, which is what's offered by the Shopify plan.

Then you have the locations.

Well, locations is basically where we're going to be storing.

Our inventory is not relevant.

We don't store inventory, we don't store product anywhere.

We are dropshipping.

So that doesn't make that doesn't really help us in any way.

Now, they also have here fraud analysis and professional reports.

Okay, fair enough.

Yes, fraud analysis can be handy in some cases, but for the most part, it's really, really not a

major problem.

It's not a big deal at all.

It's certainly not something to get hung up in this early stage.

And that's professional reports also great.

But again, we need a lot of data to really make that work.

So then it really just the last thing we're looking at, the payments you can see here, we've got additional

fees for all payment providers of 2%.

What does that mean?

Well, it means that for every payment that happens on your site, Shopify will take a 2% fee.

So if in the course of one month you make $1,000, Shopify is going to charge $20 for that.

If you make $10,000, then Shopify is going to charge $200 for the slightly more expensive plan.

That fee drops to 1%, and if you do the maths, you will see that once you're doing about 5000 a month,

it probably makes more sense to go to this more expensive plan.

But right now you're just getting started.

And while I've no doubt you will be doing over 5000 a month before too long, you don't need to take

that Shopify plan to get going.

So what I'm saying is you really only need to take the cheapest plan.

All right.

So that's exactly what I'm going to do here.

I'm going to choose the $29 a month plan.

Just going to click on Choose Plan to move to the payment screen.

So just to verify we're on the monthly billing cycle, then the next thing we need to do is to add in

the business details.

But don't worry if you haven't got a business, it's not important at this stage, right?

You just need to click on add business details and put in here your home address.

All right.

You can change all of this stuff later.

So really, don't worry.

So I'm going to add my address here and then simply click on Save.

Now I just need to choose my payment method.

Credit card is selected by default, so you might need to add a credit card.

I'm actually going to pay by PayPal.

And once you've got that all done, all you then need to do is to click on Start Plan.

And that's it.

You're now ready to go with a fully functional Shopify store to continue building out this incredible

business.
