Okay.

Welcome back.

So in this lecture, we're actually going to set up your free Shopify account.

And what you're looking at right now is the slide from the previous lecture where I asked you to click

on the link in order to access Shopify and kick off that 14 day free trial.

So if you haven't done that already, really important, click on the link so that you can follow everything.

All this very, very exciting content going forward during the course.

So all you need to do is to click here where it says, Please click here to access Shopify.

If you haven't done this already, click on this link and you arrive on Shopify.

Now you might not see exactly this message here because this changes from time to time, depending on

what Shopify are up to.

But what you will certainly see is a place to enter your email address.

So I'm going to put in my email address here.

Of course, you're going to put in your own email address and once you've done that, simply click on

Start Free Trial.

Then all we need to do is answer a few basic questions.

So you can see the first one is which of these best describes you?

So we've got I'm just starting and I'm already selling online or in person.

Well, we are just getting going.

We are just starting.

So let's select this one here and go next.

Then we decide where we would like to sell.

Well, what we're going to be doing on this course is building a very successful, very exciting online

store.

That's all you'll need.

And as you can see, that is checked by default, an online store included.

So all you need do there, don't touch anything.

Just click on next.

Then what?

We'd like to name your store.

Well, you're probably thinking right now.

Actually, I'm not sure.

I'm not ready, which is good, because in fact, as you can see, it's optional.

So you can just simply leave this blank and click on next.

Then where will your business be located now?

By default?

This should simply pick up where you are located right now, which is absolutely fine.

You can see here at the moment I'm in Portugal as I record this.

So it's saying Portugal almost certainly there is showing at this moment your country where you are

right now.

If it's not, of course you can change it.

All right.

But otherwise, just accept the default and click on next.

And that will bring up this final step where you will need to create a Shopify account.

Now what I suggest you do is that you continue with email.

Just keep it simple.

Click on Continue with email.

That's going to bring up the email that you put in right at the beginning of this process.

And then all you'll need to do is choose a password.

So I'm going to put in my password.

As you can see, it's nice and strong, so choose a good password and then just simply click on Create

Shopify account.

Then it's going to set about building your store.

All kinds of clever stuff going on in the background now as it starts to build, believe it or not,

the bare bones of your very, very first Shopify store.

And here it is in just a few clicks and absolutely zero cost.

You now have an incredibly powerful piece of software at your fingertips to build your incredible business.

Now you're probably looking at this if you've never seen Shopify before, thinking, Oh my goodness,

what's all this about?

Right?

You might feel a little bit overwhelmed at this stage, and that's absolutely normal.

Absolutely.

Fine.

That's why you've got me.

I am here now to help you understand this product.

Now, what I want to say straight away is that this is not complicated, okay?

You don't need any prior technical skills.

You don't need any fancy software, knowledge or anything like that.

You're going to see how easy this is to use.

It's all point and click.

It really is an incredible product.

Now, with that in mind, I'm going to show you in the next lecture a high level overview of Shopify,

just so that you appreciate kind of how it works.

And you start to build that confidence, start to feel that, yes, you really can do this.
