real settled here in 1588

a survivor from one of the wreck

galleons of the armada

a descendant francis real a rich sea

captain retired

however

from his last bodies he brought back a

most curious pet to which he seemed

deeply attached

a large bird that resembled a vulture

curious to say the least

well coupled with the fact that real

himself was a foreign origin it caused

people to shun him as uh someone in

league with the devil

understandable i suppose

the subsequent disappearance of a lamb

and later its carcass found torn to

pieces high up in the cliff face

was taken to be the work of real's pet

and the bird was put to death by order

of the local squire

lives here

the present squire

re-buried where the tombstone is now by

says refuse to give real's body a burial

service or to have it buried in a

consecrated place but it is

well that's just the point

from what i've recently discovered

it isn't

according to the original drawing church

property actually ends here

that is common ground

the whole story is quite plausible then

in parts there's more to it though

before francis real was buried he

apparently put a curse on the strides

hmm that's understandable too

threatening to return in years to come

and destroy every remaining member of

the family from the oldest to the

youngest it's all really interesting but

i fail to see when it ties in with this

violated grave when real was reburied

all his money is supposed to have been

put in the coffin as well a casket of

gold coins guineas

i see then your idea is that someone

with knowledge of the story opened the

grave last night in the hope that it was

true that there was gold there i can

think of no other reason

but why remove the skeleton from the

coffin we've no proof there was ever one

there there's nothing about real or any

of this in the church records

but enough for a thief to go on

footprints wouldn't show on the path so

that's the way he would have gone or by

the road

there's a grave and there's a tombstone

the only thing to account for now is

this woman's hair going white overnight
