the path of this creature?

- I've witnessed far worse

being utilized but make no assumptions,

and owns the vast majority of this land

stretching up as far as
the neighboring cornfields.

- [Jacob] Am I supposed to be impressed?

- [Nicholas] Only by me.

(mysterious music)

- Mr. Felt, how the devil are you?

- Mr. Beetlewood, I will
avoid the small exchange

of pleasantries as Crimsby and
I are eager to get to work.

- I see. Some food perhaps

- Not bloody likely if it's anything like

- Mr. Felt, while you're here,

- All business regarding the Felt Estate

can be discussed with my father.

person that's gone missing

in Bodmin in the last six months.

And I believe that this is where

the most recent one was taken.

He was the butler for
the Beetlewood Estate.

He was sent across the moors into town

to collect some groceries
as he had an injury

which prevented him from
performing his usual duties.

And unfortunately, there are
no roads leading into town

which forced him to go across the moors

and through the woods.

- It looks as though there was a struggle.

There's traces of blood
all over this area.

- Let me see.

It can't be more than a few days old.

- What are you doing?

(handle slides)

- I don't know yet.

- It's gonna be difficult
in this landscape

to find any sort of tracks
to lead us to the culprit.

- Well, I had hoped that this is where

your impressive police
skills would come in.

- Well, I've had some experience
catching crooks in the city

but this is all new to me out here.

I can see some disturbances in the ground

but for all I know that could be a badger.

- How large are these badgers?

(suspenseful music)

- Well, I guess we'll find out.

(footsteps pattering)

no more than a quarter of a mile away.

- Although the drops are small,

enough to kill her quick.

this points to the culprit being human.

We're here hunting a beast

that you don't believe exists.

There's a well-trodden
path between the trees.

This far out into the woods,

it's unlikely to be people,

but perhaps equivalent
or even larger size.

What kind of creature do we know

that treads the same path over and over?

- One that's marking their perimeter.

A territorial being.

- And there we have it.

All we have to do to catch this beast

is wait here until it
crosses this path again.

(crickets chirping)

(wind whistling)

Crimsby, are you awake?

- Yeah, but I wish I wasn't.

- I've been wondering,

how did you lose your job
again with the police?

- I already told you.

- Yes.

You said it was because of Mr. Mancroft.

I only ask because he's
my father's cousin.

- I was investigating a murder.

I found three witnesses
that placed Mr. Mancroft

at the scene with the
murder weapon in hand.

When I confronted him about
it, he denied everything.

All three witnesses disappeared.

I continued with the case

And I was supposed to relocate

a minimum of 10 miles from Mr. Mancroft.

That's what I get for trying
to do the right thing.

People pretend to be honorable,

but when push comes to shove,

everyone's just out for themselves.

it's killed a dozen people

when man itself has killed thousands.

to track down its prey.

and I began writing

and investigating the
paranormal to find some answer.

And along the way I discovered my passion.

I thought maybe I'm meant to do something.

Maybe, maybe I meant to write.

To date, my stories
have been controversial.

And then when I heard about this beast,

I thought, that's it.

That's the story that will make my name.

understand is this beast.
