here wants to kill you.

Everything. Every plant.

I got poisonous sap in my eyes.

Every insect.

[Lisa screams]

[Lisa] More fire ants.

I got a leech on my penis.

[Narrator] But who
has what it takes..

To survive...

[Narrator] Snaking south on a
forgotten tributary of the Amazon river,

the survivalists begin the
challenge in four groups of three.

To the south,

XL legend Steven
leads 40-day hopefuls

Lisa and Tim into the murky
domain of the giant anaconda

which can grow
up to 30 feet long.

[Lisa] Do you still get nervous?

Yeah, absolutely.

There are so many unknowns
and unpredictable things out here.

- Right.
- That's what makes it the Amazon.

My teammates should
listen to my advice,

because I've done
this five times.

I just did 60 days
less than a year ago.

Look at this.

- There it is.
- Yes.

Textbook.

But there's always another
tier. There's always another goal

and the Amazon,
it's its own monster.

[Lisa] You know, I've had
several challenges in my life.

Breast cancer. I
kicked its ass twice.

And on my first
challenge in The Bahamas,

I was definitely
digging really deep.

I didn't come all this
way not to make it.

And I did it mostly by myself.

So now it would be epic if
I would make it to 40 days.

Looks like our home, guys.

Let's do the thing.

[Tim] You know, this challenge
of 40 days in the Amazon jungle

with all these bugs.
This is definitely extreme.

- [Steven] Home, sweet home. Unbridled, wild Amazon.
- [Tim] Yeah.

But in my last
challenge in Africa,

I think I left a
lot on the table.

And I think with this
40-day challenge,

I think I could
push my body more.

[Steven] Clothes off, no
defense for bugs anymore.

- [Lisa] Nope.
- [Tim] Nope.

[Narrator] Three miles
north XL veteran Gary

joins forces with Rod and
Waz where the dark waters team

with flesh eating piranha

and aggressive black
caiman hunt the shoreline.

On my last challenge
in the swamps,

I was there for 60
and I didn't make it.

It's a real gator.

Hey, guys, have you
seen my contacts?

You know, like mom always
told me, don't play with your food.

Oh, my god.

Did you see my contacts, E.J.?

[E.J.] No, Gary.

[Gary] Set some alligator
eyeballs in my head, and I got sick.

This animal could have
some kind of a disease.

We start pushing
the envelope like that.

You can get yourself in trouble.

I went to the challenge to tap.

I left because I was physically
defeated, broke down.

So I'm here for redemption.

This is a really intense
environment to come out here

and spend 40 days in,
but that's my lifestyle.

I've always pushed
it to the next level

and I've never not succeeded
at anything I've ever tried.

I do a ton of archery hunting

to be able to go out and bring
food to the table for my tribe.

- Look what I got?
- [Woman] Oh, my god.

- It's huge.
- We got this now.

[Waz] Someone better warn
the Amazon, the boys are coming.

[Gary] Yeah, right?

750 pounds of jungle
beefcake that needs to eat.

[Rod] We're gonna dominate this.

- [Gary] Let's do it. Whoa!
- [Rod] Let's get it done.

[Rod Tarzan's yell]

[Waz] This is where
the fun begins, right?

- [Rod] Yeah.
- [Gary] It's time to get Naked.

[Waz] Time to get to work, boys.

This location is the pinnacle of
survival and I'm never gonna quit.

It's just not in my nature.

I was trained in the military and that's
what's gonna get me through to the finish line.

And that's my goal
at the end of the day,

and that's what's gonna happen.

[Gary] If you felt
that ride was long,

look for this next
ride we're on.

[Narrator] One mile south.

Kaila guides Dan and Jamie
into a snake infested flood zone,

swarming with
parasitic mosquitoes,

biting black flies
and deadly scorpions.

We're on the frigging
Amazon river, guys.

- It's like, it's crazy.
- [Dan] Wow!

I'm happy and elated,
terrified and depressed

and a little overarching
feeling of impending doom.

I'm scared as [bleep].

I'm terrified out here right now

and what we're
about to get into.

[Jamie] This thing is one of the
most dangerous things, you can't see.

I'm a biologist, and I know
that out here you have diseases

like dengue and chikungunya,
and there's botulism in the soil.

There are diseases
left and right,

half of which are
described by science.

It could take you
out in a second.

- This is gonna require next level skills.
- [Kaila] Definitely.

You have to be strong,
strong-minded to survive out here.

These is nothing like
Africa. Nothing like Africa.

On my exile in South Africa, I was the
first female to take down a big game kill.

[Kaila speaking]

After I finished my
40-day challenge,

I just felt like I could
conquer anything.

And now I'm ready to conquer
60 days in the Amazon jungle

and feel like
it's the next step.

I'm ready to take
it to that next level.

[Jamie] This is by
far the hardest thing

I've ever taken on in my life and get
the whole of Scotland behind me as well.

Of course, it's going to be absolutely
brutal as well as it's a challenge.

And I'm up for it.

[Dan] Whoa! Come
on, Jamie, get that kilt.

[Narrator] Five miles south Amber
takes the helm with Jen and Trish,

as they push deep into the unknown
where trees ooze a poisonous sap

and provide cover
for lurking jaguars.

[Amber] I got to be honest, there is a lot
of things that will literally try to eat us.

Jaguars are pretty aggressive.

I got a chance to
experience them in Ecuador.

I have a ton of experience
with XL challenges.

I accomplished the 40-day
challenge in Ecuador.

Oh, [bleep]. Oh, my god. This is
what we call dinner in the Amazon.

And when I was in Louisiana
for the 60-day legend challenge,

I crushed it.

Let's get this cooking.

Another fish.

Yeah!

I would have made it. I
would have made 60 days.

But because of the freezing
cold weather temperatures,

my foot swelled up like a club.

[Medic] I'm sorry. I
have to medically tap you.

You might have a pulmonary
embolism and you could die.

[Amber] Being medically pulled
devastated me. It broke my heart.

Now, nothing's gonna
stop me out here.

This is my last
chance at redemption.

- But, man, it's the Amazon, and it's gonna eat us alive.
- Yeah.

Mosquitoes, bullet ants,
a lot of creepy crawlies

that are gonna tear us right
up, but not tear us down.

This is gonna be the harshest
environment that we could ever take on.

But my biggest fear is the rain.

Because it may get cold.
We might not have fire.

And the cold is what kept me from
completing my 21-day challenge.

[Jen speaking]

[Jen] And I am going home.

It got down to 28
degrees in Bulgaria

and I physically had to
make that choice to leave

so I definitely feel like I
have a lot to prove out here.

I'm excited I don't have to look at a
bunch of ball sacs hanging around.

- Oh my gosh, isn't that nice?
- Yeah.

I am not the type of person
who keeps something in.

I think the jaguars just have
to watch out for the cougars.

[Trish] But I think you need
to have a no [bleep] attitude

to take on something like this.

And there's no other way to
be except successful out here.

I mean, there's no
room for failure out here.

It's all or nothing.

So I feel like as long as nobody
goes through PMS, we'll be great.

- [Jen] Hey, let's do this.
- [Trish] Here we are.

[Amber] Welcome to
our home, 60 days of hell.

[Jen] Oh, my gosh, you guys.

[Jen speaking]

[Trish speaking]

I see our bags.

[Gary speaking]

- And we got a pot.
- [Trish] And we got a pot.

[Narrator] For the challenge each team
receives a pot for boiling and purifying water.

[Steven] And the
cool part about it is,

is it actually acts like
a pressure cooker.

[Narrator] While each survivalist
has chosen a personal blade

- I've got my kukri.
- [Amber] Sweet.

[Narrator] Plus
one additional item

they think will help their
team survive in the Amazon.

Fire is gonna be crucial
out here through the storms.

[Steven] We got 50-pound braid,

so if we do get something
big, start to break off.

Whoa!

[Trish] Shelter in
this environment

I think is gonna
be pretty important.

I brought my trusty
bow and arrows.

I know there's some
big animals out here.

That's what I used
when I was out in Africa.

- Really?
- Yeah. I shot a warthog with it.

Wow.

[Jamie speaking]

Yeah.

- I brought a blow gun.
- [Steven] I'm loving it, dude.

[Tim] It's 5-inch
darts, razor tipped.

[Steven] That's where it originated
in the Amazon was a blow gun.

[Tim] Exactly.

And I feel it's a good fit, if I
got more birds then, you know.

[Steven] Absolutely.
This should do good for us.

- [Tim] Yeah.
- [Waz] We're gonna rock this.

- We have all the tools we need.
- [Gary] Everything we need.

Eating like kings in no time.

I have something else. The map.

It looks like there might be
a couple of little open areas,

maybe a water source over here.

[Dan] Over here, it looks like
there's some elevation gain

which is gonna give some
different species assemblages.

This is really low, so we got
to get up in the high ground.

Yeah, we want to get
away from these bugs.

Get away from the
water and the bugs.

- [Gary] Yeah.
- We head off that way.

Awesome. Let's get this done.

- [Dan] Ready?
- Yeah. Let's go.

- [Dan] Let's go.
- Let's do this. See what we find.

[Amber] I cannot believe how
many ants are on the ground.

[Jen] I'm getting
eaten alive right now.

Oh, look at the water, guys.

- [Trish] Oh, nice.
- [Amber] Yeah.

Looks like this is an open area.

What if we just use
those two trees right there?

It can work.

It is a lot of cutting, but
this could be our first option.

Yeah, I'd like to see what
else we have around us,

just to make sure we're not in
the middle of a mosquito fest,

even though we are.

But, like, make sure
there's not another pool.

Okay, let's keep looking.

I'm actually really excited
having two female partners.

I think that it would be great
to have a guy on our team,

but I told myself I
see the possibilities

and I'm pretty sure that
having the female dynamic here,

they're gonna work just as hard.

[Trish] I like this
spot. It's covered.

It'll give us a little bit of
rain cover for, like, 5 minutes.

- [Amber] Right here?
- [Trish] I like this.

[Amber] Beds are off
the ground. It's a c-shape.

All of the ground,
fire in the middle.

And then we start
building four post

and then we have the A-frame
on top, like a small home, like a hut.

- Okay.
- What do you think?

- I like it.
- Let's start chopping down.

[Jamie speaking]

[Dan] Yep.

We need to get a roof
over our heads for tonight.

- There could be snakes in here.
- Yeah.

It could be some tarantulas.

[Kaila] Yeah, it looks like the
water opens up more over there.

Wow. Look at all
those trees over there.

That looks like a nice area.

[Dan] It looks like there's
some clearing over here

and a downed tree and
see what that looks like.

[Jamie] Good idea.

[Kaila] I'm so excited that
Dan and Jamie are my partner

I think that I might need
subtitles for Jamie sometimes,

because sometimes I don't
really know what he's saying.

- Yeah. Check out these ficus tree guys.
- [Jamie] Wow.

That's actually, actually
looks really cozy in there.

[Kaila] Yeah, they're beautiful.

Oh, we could find
something like this,

and then we could just already
have our shelter raised up.

And we're pretty
close to the water.

Close enough, where
we can go down there

and get water whenever we want.

- Yeah.
- Yeah.

But far enough away where
the bugs aren't gonna get us.

- [Dan] Okay. Exactly.
- [Kaila] Yeah. All right, cool. Let's do it.

[Jamie] Yeah.

[Kaila] Dan, I got
another big beam.

[Dan] Yeah. Cool. And the
one I have will make four.

[Kaila] Awesome.

[Dan] Building
like a big quad pod

on three sides of the quad pod,

we'll have the three
beds for the three of us.

And then there should be space,
hopefully, in the center for fire.

I was thinking. Yeah, you lashed
them all together as a bundle

- and you could lift it up and spread it out.
- [Jamie] Let's do it.

It's just gonna be [bleep]
tough, because it's a lot of weight.

[Kaila] We could
also, like, lift them up

and then, like, climb that
tree, tie them up top there.

[Jamie] Yes. At least the stand.

[Dan] Oh, I see
what you're saying.

[Kaila] You know
what I mean, like yeah.

[Jamie] And then
it will open them up.

- [Dan] That's a great idea.

I don't think there's any way
we're gonna be able to tie them.

[Waz] Wow! Now, this
is some thick jungle.

[Rod] This will be
tough for hunting.

[Gary] Oh, yeah. This is
tough for hunting. Yeah.

And moving around
in any other directions.

[Waz] There you
go. There's the mud.

- [Gary] Yeah.
- [Waz] The mud and the muck.

Feel it between your toes.

[Rod] Just the
opportunity for infection,

especially on the wet ground
you got to watch for the snakes,

watch for the spiders,
watch for things

that are lurking in the dark
that want to take a bite out of it.

So today's priority
number one is our shelter

to get raised beds off the
ground, so we can stay dry.

[Gary] Wow. Look at
this. We've got palm trees.

A whole bunch. Look,
a whole bunch of palms.

That big tree, this big tree.

[Rod] It's a good bit
of structure out there.

[Gary] Big tree in the corner,
we have stuff to like work with.

Yeah. It's like... it's almost
like it's all framed up.

We're just gonna
fill in the gaps.

Yeah. And look at the cortege.

[Rod] We have tons of cortege.

- [Waz] So we got everything here.
- Yeah.

[Rod] Yeah, I think this is it.

- You think you guys agree?
- [Gary] I agree.

- It's the best one so far, so.
- [Gary] Yeah.

I'm out here with what
seems to be two awesome,

strong men that are
hungry to achieve a 40-day

and I got to see if I could
earn that 60-day mark.

Amazon, I'm back.

I'll spin this around?

[Gary] Oh. Oh, not me.

[Rod] No, not you.

Gary is Gary.

Gary's a unique character.

I mean, he's... I think he's
got a ton of talent, a ton of skill.

He's a fun guy to be around.

[Gary speaking]

[Rod] That's okay. You're good.

Oh, I saw that one coming.

Hold it up and I'm gonna
put a bunch of clay around it.

[Trish] I'm happy about my saw.

I feel like I've been able
to cut down a lot of stuff.

I think that is the
poison tree right there.

There's all the bumps, the
thorns on it, on the whole bark.

And I know that that's
a dangerous tree.

[Narrator] One of the many
poisonous plants in the Amazon.

The sandbox tree emits a toxic
resin that can cause painful rashes,

nausea and even internal
bleeding if ingested.

[Trish] Oh yeah, I wouldn't even
be trying anything with that tree.

That made me nervous.

So we need two more of
these and I feel lightheaded.

I'm like...
- [Trish] Yeah. -Yeah.

[Jen] Breathe.

- [Amber] We have to get this done so bad.
- [Jen] Yeah.

[Bleep] I would love
to sit down, but can't.

I just need one
minute. I'll be okay.

[Jen] Yeah.

[Amber] I am feeling like crap.

I am really struggling right now

and we don't even
know what it's from.

I just hope that I feel better.

I feel so sick.

on the first day

day and what's next?

I don't know what happened.

I could have had a reaction to some of
the vegetation out here in the Amazon.

Did I touch something like a tree
or a plant and touch my mouth?

Or could it be the
humidity? This is no joke.

Amazon is such a crazy place.

It's just going to take a while
for our bodies to acclimate

so I'm feeling a little better.

I'm puking.

Okay. Reset.

dual track challenge,

teams will be evaluated
each week on a modified scale

weigh each group's collective skills

and survival status to
determine a likely percentage

of reaching their
respective milestones.

Amber brings valuable Amazon

been slowed by the jungle.

[Narrator] Trish has proven herself
in a brutal rainforest environment.

While Jen showed great
resilience in her fan challenge,

but has yet to survive
beyond the 14-day level.

I can't load this
with that one here.

[Narrator] As a result,
their combined XLS

or chance of reaching their
survival mission targets is set at 43%.

[Amber] Whatever it
was, I hope it passed

or it's going to
be a long 60 days.

[Jamie] So right now, I'm just...
Just sloshing up some lattice,

where we can weave some of these
leaves through and this environment,

the weather can change
in a blink of an eye.

Well, I proved my first 21-day
challenge in South Africa,

that I can go many
nights in the rain.

We just need to face it.

We're not gonna
have a shelter tonight.

Still strong than ever. God.

So here in Amazon, it is extremely
important that we have a good shelter.

[Dan] Yum.

This water does not
look very appetizing.

- Chocolate water. Thank you. Awesome.

- It doesn't smell terrible.
- Perfect.

We're doing good.

[Kaila] We are. This is
great. I'm psyched, guys.

[Dan] You can tell
Kaila's done this before.

Like she's been around.

She's tried and true and
tested and never failed.

So I'm happy to
have her here for sure.

[Steven] It's doing

We found this amazing tree with
a... with a huge natural canopy.

Working on our
elevated platforms.

The ground is alive, like
you look at it and it moves.

You know, there's
everything down there

from scorpions to
spiders to snakes.

So elevated platform is a
key move to us. That's the plan.

[Lisa] We're thinking at
least a foot off the ground.

[Steven] Thinking,
you know, 'U' it up.

So body, body, body.
Fire in the middle.

- [Lisa] And if I see some wires for the beds. Okay.
- [Steven] Yeah.

- Sounds like a plan.
- [Lisa] So firewood and wires

and then you have it clear.

[Steven] We'll clear it and start a
little fire and get a pot of water going.

[Lisa] Sounds good.

[Steven] Tim and Lisa,
we're melding well as a team.

game plans, which is awesome.

- I'm gonna put a whole bunch of leaf litter on top

and hopefully,
maybe a little mattress.

I'm just happy to
be off the ground.

the first mosquito in my ear.

- The other bugs are coming out.
- Yeah, they are.

The bugs in the Amazon,
I'm expecting to be insane.

I'm getting eaten alive
by blood sucking flies.

and painful than mosquitoes

female black flies seek
out blood meals both

day and night to
nurture their eggs.

[Gary] I'm just
itching like mad.

[Waz] Oh, I know, it
is nonstop buzzing.

[Rod] We don't have a
raised bed to get off the floor

with all the moving
creepy things.

So tomorrow we'll focus on
that in bettering our shelter.

[Gary groans]

[Narrator] Gary brings
proven grit and know how,

but also a history of
risky decision making.

[Narrator] Waz has elite

Rod's hunting prowess

and we're getting

I can feel a bombshell over
my back as well as everywhere.

It is midnight and
you have no idea

of the absolute torture
these mosquitoes are.

Holy cow.

This is my biggest fear.

- [Waz] The bugs?
- [Rod] Yeah.

[Gary] I totally
understand that.

[Rod speaking]

[Rod] This is my
living nightmare.

[Lisa] 1 A.M. and
like we haven't slept.

[Steven] And the mosquitoes are

really tearing us
up into pieces.

We're, like, miserable.

This is like top five most
miserable days of my life.

- [Tim] It's my top one period.
- [Lisa] Top. Top. Yeah. Just sucks. Sucks.

[Jen] The bugs
are insane out here.

A lot of sounds in the Amazon.

[Jen speaking]

[Jen] Ouch. Gosh. These
flies are biting so bad.

- [Amber] Yeah, I know.
- [Jen] I'm like being devoured.

[Kaila speaking]

[Dan] Night one.

First there was a big
plague of black flies,

which are still here and went
away for about 10 minutes.

And then the second wave
of mosquitoes came in,

tried to completely
cover ourselves in mud.

I thought I did a good job, but
they're biting literally everywhere,

- where I missed.
- [Jamie] Ow!

What the [bleep] was that?

This is horrible.

Jamie's having
a really hard time.

He hasn't gotten
any sleep at all.

[Jamie] I've done
sleep deprivation before,

but this is just a
whole new level.

Having to stand constantly
and if I don't stand, I get eaten.

[Jamie speaking]

[Jamie] I'm just
getting eaten alive.

[Kaila] They're bad,
they're relentless.

[Dan] Yeah.

[Jamie] It's day two.

Last night was one of
the hardest nights I've had.

And it's not just one
night of no sleep.

It's constantly moving
around trying to get rid of flies.

[Bleep] Feet on fire.

Looks like they're
gonna explode.

[Jamie speaking]

This place is [bleep] tough.

[Kaila] You wanna stand
out in the mud with me?

[Kaila] It might help.

If I see one of my teammates
struggling, you know,

I want to help them out
the best way that I can.

[Dan] Jamie's getting
really down on himself.

Poor kid is suffering right now.

I think our priority for the day is
figuring out how to sleep more comfortably.

If we can get a better roof, it'll
keep the smoke in and the bugs out.

And most importantly, I think it'll
really improve Jamie's situation.

[Jamie] I've not had
one minute of sleep.

- [Kaila] Yeah, I know.
- Not even one minute.

I know. Just keep mudding up.

[Bleep] Day two. I've
never been to my limit.

This is definitely my limit.

Can I keep on going?

I don't know.

This place is [bleep] hell.

[Rod] Is this just a bridge across the mud,
is that why you're chopping this one down?

[Gary] No, I'm not
gonna raise the bed.

Are you gonna chop that
straight through it, that top bit?

[Gary] Yeah.

[Rod] We literally got
maybe 30 minutes of sleep.

The mosquitoes.
They were relentless.

Taking down some trees, building
some shelter, making it comfortable.

That's like primary number one.

We're gonna start cutting

had this opportunity

to learn a little bit from Gary

and be around him

to sustain 60 days.

We have to be very careful,

even move my ankles.

That seems to be the area
those black flies congregate in.

And every time you get
them, they're all full of blood.

So now they're getting in and
just eating as much as they can

So I am a little bit worried
about infection setting in,

but there's not really too
much I can do about it.

It's just one of those things
I'm gonna have to work around,

get that to settle down.

dehydration, getting acclimated,

sleep deprivation, you know,
all those things kind of combo.

But mentally and
physically, I prep for this.

I'm wondering
if it was that fish.

I'm just trying to fight it.

me really nervous.

a handful of times.

We don't know what it was, but
I've been so sick for the last little bit.

Hopefully, this goes away
and hopefully it's just temporary.

[Amber] What are
you feeling like?

[Jen] Just really
lightheaded when I'm out.

It's just hard to be up.

Because I think the heat is

So my expectations

is to lay down and
relax and hydrate.

There is a sound
the mosquitoes make

and everyone knows that
once one mosquito buzz

and past you, but
there is a different sound

that I don't think
people understand

when you have a million
mosquitoes in such a small area.

It's not just hundreds
of thousands.

It has to be millions, because
what they cover me to the point,

where if I slap my back, I'll have
my hand with 50 squish mosquitoes

all covered in blood.

They're just
relentless and nonstop.

You know, we have a fire and there's
smoke, but it doesn't do anything.

You think, "oh, I have a fire.

The mosquitoes
are gonna go away."

No, doesn't happen.
Nope, nope, nope, nope.

[Waz] I don't even
know what to do.

There's no remedies for
it. I can't sleep at nighttime.

It's just... it's brutal.

My ankles have swollen up again.

This sucks.

[Lisa] It was another
relentless buggy night.

It was... it was
awful. So no sleep.

No one's had sleep.

Now people are sleeping.

I tried several
times this morning,

just to start a fire,

too wet still.

Nada.

I'm exhausted.

I'm feeling emotionally and
physically beatdown from the Amazon.

I'm at the end of my rope.

[Waz] After one of the most
brutal nights of unendurable pain

from these mosquitoes and
flies, my ankles have swollen up

and my lower calf of my
feet have swollen so much.

It feels like the skin's
gonna split open.

It's... I can't move
or bend my ankles.

It's really bad.
They're still going.

They don't stop, look at them.

It's just excruciating.

I'm gonna... I've still got jobs to do,
but I'm gonna see if I can protect myself,

because I'm losing blood just
from the reaction to all the flies biting.

It doesn't matter
how tough you are.

If you get a serious infection,

that's gonna be the
end of your challenge.

[Rod] I want to get a
priority of what we need to do.

We need... we need food
and there's food in that water.

Yep.

So I think I'm gonna go down to
the water and work on the dock.

- Yep.
- I'll help as much as I can.

- I don't want to get in the water.

I don't want to
be out a partner.

And I would rather you take care

of whatever you
need to on your ankles

than have you in there and
then all of a sudden now...

opportunity for infection isn't a joke.

The flies that bite and when
they bite, they're drawing blood.

And then if another
fly lands on there,

they're gonna lay
an egg in there,

next thing you know, you have an
infection and your feet are rotting off.

The infection rate
here is something

I'd definitely pay attention to.

We're wanting to
put our dock out here

and then we're
gonna move the stuff,

so that we can actually
have a place to fish.

We came in here as a trio, then
we ended up losing Gary and now,

Waz with his feet being
so swollen, you know,

there's things out of our
control which are medical taps.

I'm doing everything I
can to keep Waz here.

warts, I have welts,

I have blood dripping
down everywhere.

Look at that. It's really bad.
It's just as real as it gets.

As soon as you get one problem
sorted, the next three comes.

[Steven] I got totally demolished
between this and my back and...

- Heat... heat broke me down before I even started.

I'm totally broke at this point.

I come out here to do this challenge
to see how far I can push myself.

And believe me,
I found that out.

[Lisa] I mean, I've sucked up the
sleep deprivation as we all have.

[Tim] Yeah.

[Lisa] We've survived the rain
and shivering and hypothermia.

It's so defeating.

- [Steven] Jungle nights are tough.
- [Lisa] Try torturous.

[Steven] Yeah, that's the word.

But as somebody
who's been there,

I know there is a finish line
and you can get through it.

I mean, over time, you do kind of
acclimate to what's going on, you know.

- [Lisa] Yeah.
- [Steven] And it's hard to see that right now

- when you're at the bottom of the barrel, you know.
- [Lisa] Yeah.

When we're utterly exhausted.

[Lisa] And to hear it from you that
says you've done six challenges...

- Yeah.
- And this is the worst.

[Steven] Oh, hands down.

[Lisa] I just... I don't
think I can go on.

I'm not... I can't
do another day.

I've been defeated. I
submit to the Amazon.

Feel disappointed.

I feel like I let... I’m
letting myself down.

I'm letting others down.

And yeah, it's not a
good... not a great feeling.

I get it and I understand
and I wouldn't...

[Lisa] Well, I mean, if it
was just an ordinary suck.

- Yeah.
- [Lisa] You know.

- This is next level suck.
- [Tim] Yeah.

We didn't have time
to even, you know,

to really get into it, you
know, talking in your sleep,

you get so tired, you don't
feel like doing anything.

- [Lisa] Yeah.

I mean, what've we had to
eat in three days, four fish?

- [Steven] Yeah.
- [Lisa] Yeah.

[Tim] But right now, I
don't think I'm actually in it.

I'm leaving too.

It's three days with no sleep and 24 hours
a day of getting eaten alive by insects.

So that's my breaking
point. And that's a tap.

in the middle of the
Amazon rainforest.

Sixty days in the hardest
environment on the planet.

Only thing harder
would be Antarctica

and... and then
you're dead anyway,

because there's nothing to
eat and you freeze to death.

I'll tell you what,
it is ruthless.

I got 56 days left and
I've never done this before.

I've never had to do a
challenge by myself, ever.

But how epic is that?
