All language subtitles for 01 - Creating a plumbing view

- [Instructor] So let's throw in some pipes.

Well, it's not going to be as easy as that.

Welcome to the most difficult trade in Revit,

I think, plumbing.

Since it's the most difficult,

let's start with something easy and work our way up.

The first thing we'll need to do

is set up a plumbing project.

So let's just do that.

Under Models, let's go New.

For a template file, let's click Browse.

Let's grab Plumbing Default and click Open.

Let's click OK.

Next thing we do is we bring in our architectural models.

Let's go to Insert, let's click Link Revit.

Browse where you're keeping your backgrounds.

Now I'm going to grab my architectural model.

Positioning wants to be Origin to Origin.

Click Open, select your link.

Now let's pin it down.

Let's click Edit Type.

Let's turn on Room Bounding, click OK.

Hit Escape a couple of times.

Let's look at the line weights on our underlay.

So if we go to the Manage tab,

let's go to Additional Settings,

and let's go down to Halftone/Underlay.

For the weight, let's go with one.

For the halftone, let's bump that up to 80.

Let's click OK.

Let's look at some other settings.

Let's go to Manage.

Let's go to Object Styles.

This controls all of the components

that Revit has,

and it allows us to assign line weights a projection,

not just elevation or plan, but also a cut.

We can specify what the section looks like

or the projection.

It's pretty cool.

Hit OK.

Now save this somewhere you can find it.

That's it, it's as simple as that.
