I wouldn't touch that if I were you.

- It smells like the slime. - Really?

How exciting. Now put it back.

No way. I'm gonna look at this underneath a microscope.

No, Billy. We've been down here long enough.

- Look, I had it first! - Yeah, and I'm gonna have it last!

- Fine! Have it! - [ Gasps ]

- [ Roaring ] - Duck!

[ Screams ]

It was Billy's idea, Uncle Harold.

It doesn't matter whose idea it was.

The point is, you were told to stay out of the lab.

We're working on some very sensitive experiments in there.

[ Screams ]

- I'll go look for this missing lady. - You can't go by yourself.

Well, it looks like a deserted island.

[ Motor Starts ]

- [ Ritter Laughing ] - I wish it was.

[ Breathing ]

[ Sheena ] You think anybody's really gonna see a fire from out there?

[ Harold ] This island's uninhabited.

Any passing ship that sees the smoke is bound to investigate.

Why'd Ritter do that to us anyway?

- I thought you guys were partners. - We were.

But I guess Ritter's greed got the best of him.

He wanted the D-13 all for himself.

What's D-13?

I guess after all this you two deserve an explanation.

Take a look out there. What do you see?

Uh... nothing.

- Water. Duh. - Well, you're both right.

And wrong.

The ocean's alive with something called Plankton.

It's a microscopic life-form,

sort of a floating all-you-can-eat buffet for fish.

Ritter and I were working on a new strain of it called D-13...

That can turn carbon dioxide into oxygen at four times the normal rate.

But the growth hormone we used had a side effect.

It caused the creatures that ate the Plankton to grow at an amazing rate.

- Like that blowfish? - Exactly.

Then when you found that giant shark's tooth,

I knew that the plankton had somehow made its way into open water.

Maybe while Luis was cleaning the lab equipment.

At any rate, the marine life in our cove has been feeding on it.

- And growing? - Mm-hmm.

That's why I decided to stop the experiment. It seems Ritter had other plans.

Like what?

Well, like making a lot of money.

D-13 would be worth a fortune to the right people.

How do you make money off of growing giant fish?

You feed people. With enough D-13 in the planet's oceans,

you could end world hunger in ten years.

- That's good, isn't it? - We don't know yet.

It's never been tested on humans. The side effects could be disastrous.

Hey, guys! I think I found something!

It looks like it was some kind of boat.

Lady Milton.

That guy-- He must have jumped overboard before it crashed.

I don't think this boat just crashed.

I think another one of our deep-sea friends got hungry.

- Hey, what are you doing? - It's gotta be here somewhere.

- What? - Something every boat this size has to have.

That's a possibility.

Someone wanna tell me what's going on here?

An inflatable life raft.

I wonder how it got here.

I thought this island was supposed to be deserted.

This thing was made some time ago.

Those branches under it should have died under the weight of the canoe.

It's almost as if someone hid it here recently.

And maybe that someone's still here.

[ Rustling ]

I don't think we're alone on this island!

It's covered in that slime.

[ Screams, Grunting ]

I'm afraid things are worse than we thought.

Reptiles don't see very well,

but they're sensitive to even the smallest vibration.

We have to stay very, very quiet.

[ Rumbling ]

[ Rumbling Continues ]

[ Rumbling, Hissing Subside ]

We have to get back to that canoe, get off this island.

I'm not leaving here without my brother.

There's a very good chance that Billy--

- What? - Well--

- [ Growling ] - [ Screaming ]

[ Screams ]

- [ Roaring ] - [ Screams ]

They've been looking all over the place for you.

[ Gasps ]

I worked with Dr. Deep and Dr. Ritter as a laboratory assistant.

They were doing experiments with D-13,

and Dr. Ritter said he'd pay me an extra $100 a week...

if I would take it myself.

[ Scoffs ] Said the only thing it would do was just make me stronger.

That's why we gotta get you both outta here before they find you.

The others want to punish him for what he's done.

But it wasn't his fault.

- It was Ritter. - I know.

I tried to explain that to them, but they wouldn't believe me.

Dr. Deep invented the stuff. They hold him responsible.

Then we're just gonna have to change their minds.

[ Sighs ]

They've gotta be up here somewhere.

Wait. What are we gonna do when we get there?

I don't know, but we gotta do something.

[ Grunting ]

[ Grunting Continues ]

[ Roars ]

I created D-13 to help mankind, not to destroy it!

I didn't know that he was conducting the tests on humans.

You ordered the experiments on us!

Ritter told us so. And your name was on the checks.

He was my assistant.

[ Roaring, Hissing ]

come to this island if we knew what was going on?

Ritter brought us here to get us out of the way.

So he could have D-13 all to himself.

He was probably planning to sell it to a company

with no regard for the consequences.

So he could get rich by hurting innocent people.

[ Murmuring ]

We'll go get Ritter.

Well, that's the last of the antidote.

Good.

According to my calculations,

that should get rid of all traces of D-13.

Okay, uh, what about the giant fish? The others?

Once the antidote starts to work,

they should revert to normal size within the next 48 hours.

How are you feeling?

I couldn't be better. I haven't got a fin or scale on me.

But I've kind of, uh, lost my taste for seafood.

[ Chuckling ]

I promise you guys,

the rest of your vacation will be completely normal.

No mad scientists, no monsters. Just a nice, quiet summer.

Good. Just one thing, though.

What do you think happened to Ritter?

Yeah. He sorta disappeared after those fish people got hold of him.
