is that we're a team.

And hopefully, one
of us will get a big kill,

and then that's not even gonna

Sarah: I am gonna
go pick some spinach.

I'm hoping that they'll be able

to ultimately get at
least one real big kill

that should be able to
sustain us until extraction.

I would like to reach
my full 40 days,

although I'm worried
that this spinach alone

isn't going to be able
to sustain my body

for very long at all.

What I really, really
need is protein.

I'm in a nutrient buildup phase,

so I can maybe have nutrients
all the way up to extraction

and not be, uh, suffering.

I'll sit here, tap into
a resource like this,

which is protein just coming
right out of the ground.

Small doses, but small doses

of everything is a large
dose over time, right?

This is how I eat ants.

and I were just sitting in our blind

by the water waiting to see
if anything would come in,

and all of a sudden,
we heard a leopard

that was super close by us.

Now we're like...[Bleep].

[ Normally ] Took one
shot -- the shot was --

the shot was exactly
where I wanted it to go,

but as they get spooked
sometimes by hearing,

like, a -- just a
bowstring, they dip down

to spring forward,
and as it dipped,

my arrow hit it higher
than I wanted it to

by about an inch and a
half to two inches higher

than I wanted it to.

It's a little
bloody, but it's...

I think it went
through the backstrap.

When it dipped, I don't
think it got to the lungs.

The impala will be fine.

It won't die from that at all.

It'll heal up.

Get on the blood trail
and see what I can find.

Out of nowhere, a leopard
just started comin' in,

and I was just about
to put my arrow on

to, uh, to possibly shoot it
like an impala or a cougar

or something, and I
realized that it's a big, big cat.

[ Exhales heavily ]

That was crazy.

[ Insects chirping ] Matt:
Hello, naked people.

[ Insects chirping ]

Had a leopard almost
attack me. Really?

Really? Oh, my gosh. Yeah, he
came right out of the shadows, and uh...

I raised up and yelled.
It was freakin' nuts.

I mean, just out of nowhere,
I was like, oh! Leopard.

And then I realized that leopard
is not runnin' away from us.

I am not pleased that

there is a leopard within a
hundred yards of my boma.

Sarah: So are we
gonna be safe tonight?

Melissa: Important
thing is to keep a fire on.

Shane: I don't like it --
keep your eyes open.

This is like a
leopard kill zone.

feels like if you have the flu

deter him a little bit.

If I can keep him off
for a couple hours,

I should be able to get
back with reinforcements.

much as possible.

I've always said I get more
dangerous when I get hungry,

reached by navigating

the predatory killing

and a range of dangerously

they need to sustain them,

the survivalists

to preparations for
the extremely difficult

extraction journey ahead.

harvesting the biltong.

Kaila: It dries out, and
it's just like beef jerky.

Getting ready for extraction,
we absolutely need

as much food as possible.

It doesn't rot, because
it's cut so thin. Yeah.

And when the meat
starts to dry out in the sun,

it gets, like, a coating on
it so the flies can't get to it

to put the maggot
larva inside of it.

we're gonna be crossing

We got to that
extraction meal table,

and we're like ahhhh
just unwrapping one bag

while, like, stuffing
another thing in our mouth,

and we're just, like, wow,
we were just savages.

I had a coffee, a
milk, a coke, a beer,

all in front of me,
and this is a guy

that is about consuming
as little as possible.

[ Laughs ] You just
wanted to taste everything

that you take for granted.

We have deli mustard.

I've already eaten half
the stuff on my plate.

It seems like I'm gonna wake
up back in the boma or something.

Laying in the dirt.
We're dreaming.

I cannot believe how tan I am.

you do not realize how
dirty you have gotten.

It took me, like,
three or four baths

before I actually
got all the dirt off.

I've truly felt comforted

in 40 days.

I am already
losing lots of hair.

I just spent 2 and 1/2
hours taking a bath.

For real.

And now I am brushing my teeth

than charcoal and twigs.

It's crazy what a
hairbrush can do.
