just a perfect day to visit Bible Town.

I was so excited to head to Bible Town today,

I couldn't fall asleep last night.

My mom warmed me up a glass of milk

and read me a Bible story.

Then I could sleep.

That's cool, Sarah.

My mom reads me stories from the Bible all the time.

Which story did she read you?

My very favorite one.

It's about the creation of the world.

Oh, how cool!

That's where God creates Adam and Eve, isn't it?

Yeah.

It's a super cool story.

It's how God created the world we live in.

I think everybody should know it, don't you?

Totally.

Okay then, here we go.

In the beginning, God created the heaven

and the earth, and the earth was without form, and void,

and darkness was upon the face of the deep.

And the spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters,

and God said, let there be light,

and there was light.

And God saw the light, that it was good,

and God divided the light from the darkness.

And God called the light day

and the darkness he called night.

And the evening and the morning were the first day,

and God said, let there be a firmament

in the midst of the waters,

and let it divide the waters from the waters,

and God made the firmament and divided the waters

which were under the firmament

from the waters which were above the firmament

and it was so.

And God called the firmament Heaven.

And the evening and the morning were the second day.

And God said, let the waters under the heaven

be gathered together unto one place,

and let the dry land appear, and it was so.

And God called the dry land Earth,

and the gathering together of the waters called he seas,

and God saw that it was good.

And God said, let the earth bring forth grass,

the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree

yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself

upon the earth, and it was so.

And the earth brought forth grass,

and herb yielding seed after his kind,

and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself

after his kind, and God saw that it was good.

And the evening and the morning were the third day.

And God said, let there be lights in the firmament

of the heaven to divide the day from the night,

and let them be for signs, and for seasons,

and for days, and years.

And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven

to give light upon the earth, and it was so.

And God made two great lights,

the greater light to rule the day

and the lesser light to rule the night.

He made the stars also.

And God set them in the firmament of the heaven

to give light upon the earth,

and to rule over the day and over the night

and to divide the light from the darkness.

And God said, let the waters bring forth abundantly

the moving creature that hath life,

and fowl that may fly above the earth

in the open firmament of heaven.

And God created great whales

and every living creature that moveth,

which the waters brought forth abundantly

after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind.

And God saw that it was good.

And God blessed them, saying be fruitful and multiply,

and fill the waters in the seas,

and let fowl multiply in the earth.

And the evening and the morning were the fifth day.

And God said, let the earth bring forth

the living creatures after his kind,

cattle, and creeping thing,

and beast of the earth after his kind, and it was so.

And God made the beast of the earth after his kind,

and cattle after their kind,

and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind.

And God saw that it was good.

And God said, let us make man in our image,

after our likeness, and let them have dominion

over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air,

and over the cattle, and over all the earth,

and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

So God created man in his own image,

in the image of God created he him,

male and female created he them.

And God blessed them, and God said unto them,

be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth,

and subdue it, and have dominion over the fish of the sea,

and over the fowl of the air,

and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

And God said, behold, I have given you every herb

bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth,

and every tree, in which is the fruit

of the tree yielding seed.

To you it shall be for meat.

And to every beast of the earth,

and to every fowl of the air,

and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth,

wherein there is life, I have given

every green herb for meat, and it was so.

And God saw every thing that he had made,

and behold, it was very good.

And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.

Thus the heavens and the earth were finished,

and all the host of them.

And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made,

and he rested on the seventh day

from all his work which he had made.

And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it,

because that in it he had rested from all his work

which God created and made.

It's the story of the great flood.

I learned it last time I visited Bible Town.

It's an amazing story, Sarah.

Do you wanna hear it?

It goes like this.

And it came to pass when men began to multiply

on the face of the earth,

that God saw that the wickedness of man

was great in the earth, and that every imagination

of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.

And it repented the Lord that he had made man on the earth,

and it grieved him at his heart.

And the Lord said, I will destroy man

whom I have created from the face of the earth,

both man, and beast, and the creeping thing,

and the fowls of the air,

for it repenteth me that I have made them.

But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord.

Noah was just man and walked with God.

And Noah begat three sons, Shem, Ham, and Japheth.

The earth also was corrupt before God,

and the earth was filled with violence.

And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt,

for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth.

And God said unto Noah,

the end of all flesh is come before me

for the earth is filled with violence through them,

and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth.

Make thee an ark of gopher wood,

rooms shalt thou make in the ark,

and shalt pitch it within and without with pitch.

And this is the fashion which thou shalt make it of it.

The length of the ark shall be 300 cubits,

the breadth of it 50 cubits,

and the height of it 30 cubits.

A window shalt thou make to the ark,

and in a cubit shalt thou finish it above,

and the door of the ark shalt thou set in the side thereof,

with lower, second, and third stories shalt thou make it.

And, behold, I, even I, do bring a flood of waters

upon the earth, to destroy all flesh,

wherein is the breath of life, from under heaven,

and every thing that is in the earth shall die.

But with thee will I establish my covenant,

and thou shalt come into the ark, thou, and thy sons,

and thy wife, and thy sons' wives with thee.

And of every living thing of all flesh,

two of every sort shalt thou bring into the ark,

to keep them alive with thee.

They shall be male and female.

Of fowls after their kind, and of cattle after their kind,

of every creeping thing of the earth after his kind,

two of every sort shall come unto thee, to keep them alive.

And take thou unto thee of all food that is eaten,

and thou shalt gather it to thee

and it shall be for food for thee, and for them.

Thus did Noah,

according to all that God commanded him, so did he.

And the Lord said unto Noah,

come thou and all thy house into the ark,

for thee have I seen righteous before me in this generation.

Of every clean beast thou shalt take to thee by sevens,

the male and his female, and of beasts

that are not clean by two, the male and his female.

Of fowls also of the air by sevens, the male and the female,

to keep the seed alive upon the face of all the earth.

For yet seven days, and I will cause it

to rain upon the earth 40 days and 40 nights,

and every living substance that I have made

will I destroy from off the face of the earth.

And Noah did according unto all that the Lord commanded him.

And Noah was 600 years old

when the flood of waters was upon the earth.

And Noah went in, and his sons, and his wife,

and his sons' wives with him, into the ark,

because of the waters of the flood.

and of fowls, and of every thing

that creepeth upon the earth,

there went in two and two unto Noah into the ark,

the male and the female, as God had commanded Noah.

And it came to pass after seven days

that the waters of the flood were upon the earth.

In the 600th year of Noah's life,

in the second month, the 17th day of the month,

the same day were all the fountains of the great deep

broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened.

And the rain was upon the earth 40 days and 40 nights.

In the selfsame day entered Noah, and Shem,

and Ham, and Japheth, the sons of Noah,

and Noah's wife and the three wives of his sons with them

into the ark.

They, and every beast after his kind,

and all the cattle after their kind,

and every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth

after his kind, and every fowl after his kind,

every bird of every sort.

And they went in unto Noah into the ark,

two and two of all flesh, wherein is the breath of life.

And they that went in, went in male and female of all flesh,

as God had commanded him, and the Lord shut him in.

And the flood was 40 days upon the earth,

and the waters increased, and bare up the ark,

and it was lift up above the earth.

And the waters prevailed,

and were increased greatly upon the earth,

and the ark went upon the face of the waters.

And the waters prevailed exceedingly upon the earth,

and all the high hills

that were under the whole heaven were covered.

15 cubits upward did the waters prevail,

and the mountains were covered.

And all flesh died that moved upon the earth,

both of fowl, and of cattle, and of beast,

and of every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth,

and every man.

All in whose nostrils was the breath of life,

of all that was in the dry land, died.

And every living substance was destroyed,

which was upon the face of the ground,

both man, and cattle, and the creeping things,

and the fowl of the heaven,

and they were destroyed from the earth,

and Noah only remained alive

and they that were with him in the ark.

And the waters prevailed upon the earth 150 days.

they will gladly tell you a story from the Bible.

Whoa, that's so awesome, guys.

But, do they really know all the stories from the Bible?

There is a lotta them, you know.

Yeah, they know all of them.

That's why it's so cool.

Even the story about the birth of Jesus?

Oh yes, everybody just loves that Bible story.

That's my favorite one too.

I know that story by heart.

My dad always reads it to me.

This is how it goes.

And it came to pass in those days

that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus

that all the world should be taxed.

And all went to be taxed, every one into his own city.

And Joseph also went up from Galilee

out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea,

unto the city of David which is called Bethlehem,

because he was of the house and lineage of David,

to be taxed with Mary his espoused wife

who was great with child.

And so it was that while they were there

the days were accomplished that she should be delivered.

And she brought forth her firstborn son

and wrapped him in swaddling clothes

and laid him in a manger,

because there was no room for them in the inn.

And there were in the same country

shepherds abiding in the field,

keeping watch over their flock by night.

And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them,

and the glory of the Lord shone round about them,

and they were sore afraid.

And the angel said unto them, fear not, for behold,

I bring you good tidings of great joy,

which shall be to all people.

For unto you is born this day

in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord.

And this shall be a sign unto you.

Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes,

lying in a manger.

And suddenly there was with the angel

a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,

glory to God in the highest,

and on earth peace, good will toward men.

And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away

from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another,

let us now go even unto Bethlehem,

and see this thing which is come to pass

which the Lord hath made known unto us.

And they came with haste

and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger.

And when they had seen it, they made known abroad

the saying which was told them concerning this child.

And all they that heard it wondered at those things

which were told them by the shepherds.

But Mary kept all these things,

and pondered them in her heart.

And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God

for all the things that they had heard and seen,

as it was told unto them.

And when eight days were accomplished

for the circumcising of the child,

his name was called Jesus.

What about the story about the three wise men

from the East that brought gifts to baby Jesus?

That's a beautiful story too.

I know that one.

Tell us, Sarah.

It goes like this.

Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea

in the days of Herod the king,

behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem,

saying, where is he that is born King of the Jews?

For we have seen his star in the east,

and are come to worship him.

When Herod the king had heard these things,

he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him.

And when he had gathered all the chief priests

and scribes of the people together,

he demanded of them where Christ should be born.

And they said unto him, in Bethlehem of Judaea,

for thus it is written by the prophet,

and thou Bethlehem, in the land of Judah,

art not the least among the princes of Judah,

for out of thee shall come a Governor

that shall rule my people Israel.

Then Herod, when he had privily called the wise men,

inquired of them diligently what time the star appeared.

And he sent them to Bethlehem and said,

go and search diligently for the young child,

and when ye have found him, bring me word again

that I may come and worship him also.

When they had heard the king, they departed.

And, lo, the star which they saw in the east

went before them, till it came and stood over

where the young child was.

When they saw the star, they rejoiced

with exceeding great joy.

And when they were come into the house,

they saw the young child with Mary his mother,

and fell down and worshiped him.

And when they had opened their treasures,

they presented unto him gifts,

gold, and frankincense, and myrrh.

And being warned of God in a dream

that they should not return to Herod,

they departed into their own country another way.

And when they were departed,

behold, the angel of the Lord appeareth

to Joseph in a dream, saying,

arise, and take the young child and his mother

and flee into Egypt, and be thou there

until I bring thee word,

for Herod will seek the young child to destroy him.

When he arose, he took the young child

and his mother by night, and departed into Egypt.

And was there until the death of Herod,

that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord

by the prophet, saying, out of Egypt have I called my son.

Then Herod, when he saw that he was mocked of the wise men,

was exceeding wroth, and sent forth

and slew all the children that were in Bethlehem,

and in all the coasts thereof

from two years old and under,

according to the time which he had diligently

inquired of the wise men.

Then was fulfilled that which was spoken

by Jeremy the prophet, saying,

in Rama was there a voice heard,

lamentation, and weeping, and great mourning,

Rachel weeping for her children,

and would not be comforted, because they are not.

But when Herod was dead,

behold, an angel of the Lord appeareth

in a dream to Joseph in Egypt, saying,

arise, and take the young child and his mother,

and go into the land of Israel,

for they are dead which sought the young child's life.

And he arose and took the young child and his mother

and came into the land of Israel.

But when he heard that Archelaus did reign in Judaea

in the room of his father Herod,

he was afraid to go thither.

Notwithstanding, being warned of God in a dream,

he turned aside into the parts of Galilee.

And he came and dwelt in a city called Nazareth

that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophets,

he shall be called a Nazarene.

Sarah, that was such a great story,

and you told it so well.

Okay guys, this is the story of Jesus in the temple.

Love it.

This is how it goes.

And the child grew and waxed strong in spirit,

filled with wisdom, and the grace of God was upon him.

Now his parents went to Jerusalem every year

at the feast of the passover.

And when he was 12 years old

they went up to Jerusalem after the custom of the feast.

And when they had fulfilled the days,

as they returned, the child Jesus

tarried behind in Jerusalem,

and Joseph and his mother knew not of it.

But they, supposing him to have been in the company,

went a day's journey,

and they sought him among their kinsfolk and acquaintance.

And when they found him not,

they turned back again to Jerusalem, seeking him.

And it came to pass that after three days

they found him in the temple,

sitting in the midst of the doctors,

both hearing them and asking them questions.

And all that heard him were astonished

at his understanding and answers.

And when they saw him, they were amazed,

and his mother said unto him,

son, why hast thou thus dealt with us?

Behold, thy father and I have sought thee sorrowing.

And he said unto them, how is it that ye sought me?

Wist ye not that I must be about my Father's business?

And they understood not the saying which he spake unto them.

And he went down with them and came to Nazareth,

and was subject unto them,

but his mother kept all these sayings in her heart.

And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature,

and in favor with God and man.

Wow, amazing!

I love that story.

Which story will you tell us, Pam?

This is the story of Jesus being baptized by John.

There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.

The same came for a witness to bear witness of the light,

that all men through him might believe.

He was not that light,

but was sent to bear witness of that light.

That was the true light,

which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.

He was in the world and the world was made by him

and the world knew him not.

But as many as received him,

to them gave he power to become the sons of God,

even to them that believe on his name,

which were born, not of blood

nor of the will of the flesh

nor of the will of man, but of God.

And the word was made flesh and dwelt among us,

and we beheld his glory,

the glory as the only begotten of the Father,

full of grace and truth.

In the 15th year of the reign of Tiberius Caesar,

Pontius Pilate being governor of Judaea,

and Herod being tetrarch of Galilee,

Annas and Caiaphas being the high priests,

the word of God came unto John

the son of Zacharias in the wilderness.

And he came into all the country about Jordan,

preaching the baptism of repentance

for the remission of sins.

As it is written in the book of the words

of Esaias the prophet, saying,

the voice of one crying in the wilderness,

prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.

Every valley shall be filled,

and every mountain and hill shall be brought low,

and the crooked shall be made straight,

and the rough ways shall be made smooth.

And all flesh shall see the salvation of God.

And the same John had his raiment of camel's hair

and a leathern girdle about his loins,

and his meat was locusts and wild honey.

Then went out to him Jerusalem, and all Judaea

and all the region round about Jordan,

and were baptized of him in Jordan, confessing their sins.

Then said he to the multitude that came forth

to be baptized of him, oh generations of vipers,

who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come?

Bring forth therefore fruits worthy of repentance,

and begin not to say within yourselves,

we have Abraham to our father.

For I say unto you, that God is able of these stones

to raise up children unto Abraham.

And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees.

Every tree therefore which bringeth not forth good fruit

is hewn down, and cast into the fire.

And the people asked him, saying, what shall we do then?

He answereth and saith unto them,

we that hath two coats,

let him impart to him that hath none,

and he that hath meat, let him do likewise.

Then came also publicans to be baptized,

and said unto him, master, what shall we do?

And he said unto them, exact no more

than that which is appointed you.

And the soldiers likewise demanded of him, saying,

and what shall we do?

And he said unto them, do violence to no man,

neither accuse any falsely, and be content with your wages.

And as the people were in expectation,

and all men mused in their hearts of John

whether he were the Christ or not,

John answered, saying unto them all,

I indeed baptize you with water but one

mightier than I cometh, the latchet of whose shoes

I am not worthy to unloose.

He shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire,

whose fan is in his hand,

and he will thoroughly purge his floor

and will gather the wheat into his garner,

but the chaff he will burn with fire unquenchable.

And many other things in his exhortation

preached he unto the people.

Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to Jordan unto John

to be baptized of him.

But John forbade him, saying,

I have need to be baptized of thee, and comest thou to me?

And Jesus answering said unto him,

suffer it to be so now,

for thus it becometh us

to fulfill all righteousness.

Then he suffered him.

And Jesus, when he was baptized,

went up straightway out of the water,

and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him

and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove,

lighting upon him.

And lo a voice from heaven, saying,

this is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

And Jesus himself began to be about 30 years of age.

What about the story of Jesus's first miracle?

I told you guys, Pam is an amazing story teller.

This is how it goes.

And the third day there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee

and the mother of Jesus was there.

And both Jesus was called, and his disciples,

to the marriage.

And when they wanted wine,

the mother of Jesus saith unto him, they have no wine.

Jesus saith unto her, woman, what have I to do with thee?

Mine hour is not yet come.

His mother saith unto the servants,

whatever he saith unto you, do it.

And there were set there six water pots of stone

after the manner of the purifying of the Jews,

containing two or three firkins apiece.

Jesus saith unto them, fill the water pots with water.

And they filled them up to the brim.

And he saith unto them, draw out now

and bear unto the governor of the feast,

and they will bare it.

When the ruler of the feast had tasted the water

that was made wine, he knew not whence it was,

but the servants which drew the water knew.

The governor of the feast called the bridegroom,

and saith unto him, every man at the beginning

doth set forth good wine, and when men have well drunk,

then that which is worse.

But thou hast kept the good wine until now.

This beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee,

and manifested forth his glory

and his disciples believed on him.

After this he went down to Capernaum,

he and his mother, and his brethren, and his disciples,

and they continued there not many days.

And the Jews' passover was at hand,

and Jesus went up to Jerusalem

and found in the temple those that sold oxen

and sheep and doves, and the changers of money sitting.

And when he had made a scourge of small cords,

he drove them all out of the temple, and the sheep,

and the oxen, and poured out the changers' money

and overthrew the tables.

He said unto them that sold doves,

take these things hence.

Make not my Father's house an house of merchandise.

And his disciples remembered that it was written,

the zeal of thine house hath eaten me up.

Then answered the Jews and said unto them,

what sign showest thou unto us,

seeing that thou doest these things?

Jesus answered and said unto them,

destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.

Then said the Jews, 40 and 60 years

was this temple in building,

and wilt thou rear it up in three days?

But he spake of the temple of his body.

When therefore he was risen from the dead,

his disciples remembered that he had said this unto them,

and they believed the scripture

and the word which Jesus had said.

Now when he was in Jerusalem at the passover

in the feast day, many believed in his name

when they saw the miracles which he did.

But Jesus did not commit himself unto them,

because he knew all men

and needed not what they should testify of man

for he knew what was in man.

Whoa, awesome!

Sure, I'll tell you the story of the woman at the well.

Great.

How does it go?

When therefore the Lord knew how the Pharisees

had heard that Jesus made

and baptized more disciples than John,

though Jesus himself baptized not, but his disciples,

he left Judaea, and departed again into Galilee.

And he must need go through Samaria.

Then cometh he to a city of Samaria which is called Sychar,

near to the parcel of ground

that Jacob gave to his son Joseph.

Now Jacob's well was there.

Jesus therefore being wearied with his journey,

sat thus on the well, and it was about the sixth hour.

There cometh a woman of Samaria to draw water.

Jesus saith unto her, give me a drink.

For his disciples were gone away unto the city to buy meat.

Then saith the woman of Samaria unto him,

how is it that thou, being a Jew, askest drink of me,

which am a woman of Samaria?

For the Jews have no dealings with the Samaritans.

Jesus answered and said unto her,

if thou knewest the gift of God

For Jesus knew from the beginning

who they were that believed not, and who should betray him.

that no man can come unto me,

And he said, of a child.

And ofttimes it hath cast him into the fire,

and into the waters, to destroy him,

but if thou canst do any thing,

have compassion on us, and help us.

Jesus said unto him, if thou canst believe

all things are possible to him that believeth.

And straightway the father of the child cried out,

and said with tears, Lord, I believe,

help thou mine unbelief.

When Jesus saw that the people came running together,

he rebuked the foul spirit, saying unto him,

thou dumb and deaf spirit, I charge thee,

come out of him, and enter no more into him.

And the spirit cried, and rent him sore,

and came out of him, and he was as one dead

insomuch that many said, he is dead.

But Jesus took him by the hand and lifted him up,

and he arose.

And when he was come into the house,

his disciples asked him privately,

why could not we cast him out?

And he said unto them, this kind can come forth by nothing

but by prayer and fasting.

And they departed thence, and passed through Galilee

and he would not that any man should know it.

For he taught his disciples and said unto them,

the Son of man is delivered into the hands of men,

and they shall kill him.

And after that he is killed, he shall rise the third day.

But they understood not that saying,

and were afraid to ask him.

And what happens after that, Sarah?

How do you know?

I learned it in Bible Town last time I visited.

It's about Christ teaching humility and forgiveness.

At the same time came the disciples unto Jesus, saying,

who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?

And Jesus called a little child unto him

and set him in the midst of them,

and said, verily I say unto you,

except ye be converted and become as little children,

ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.

Whosoever therefore shall humble himself

as this little child, the same is greatest

in the kingdom of heaven.

And whoso shall receive one such little child

in my name receiveth me.

But whoso shall offend one of these little ones

which believe in me, it were better for him

that a millstone were hanged about his neck,

and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.

Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones,

for I say unto you that in heaven their angels

do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven.

For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost.

How think ye?

If a man have an hundred sheep

and one of them be gone astray,

doth he not leave the ninety and nine,

and goeth into the mountains,

and seeketh that which is gone astray?

And if so be that he find it, verily I say unto you,

he rejoiceth more of that sheep,

than of the ninety and nine which went not astray.

Even so it is not the will of your Father

which is in heaven

that one of these little ones should perish.

Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee,

go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone.

If he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother.

But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee

one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses

every word may be established.

And if he shall neglect to hear them,

tell it unto the church,

but if he neglect to hear the church,

let him be unto thee as an heathen man and a publican.

Verily I say unto you, whatsoever ye shall bind on earth

shall be bound in heaven,

and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth

shall be loosed in heaven.

Again I say unto you that if two of you shall agree on earth

as touching any thing that they shall ask,

it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.

For where two or three are gathered together in my name,

there am I in the midst of them.

Then came Peter to him, and said,

Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me

and I forgive him?

Till seven times?

Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee till seven times,

but until 70 times seven.

Therefore is the kingdom of heaven likened

unto a certain king,

which would take account of his servants.

And when he had begun to reckon,

one was brought unto him which owed him 10,000 talents.

But forasmuch as he had not to pay,

his lord commanded him to be sold,

and his wife, and children, and all that he had,

and payment to be made.

The servant therefore fell down and worshiped him,

saying, Lord, have patience with me,

and I will pay thee all.

Then the lord of that servant was moved with compassion,

and loosed him, and forgave him the debt.

But the same servant went out

and found one of his fellow servants

which owed him an hundred pence

and he laid hands on him, and took him by the throat,

saying, pay me that thou owest.

And his fellow servant fell down at his feet

and besought him, saying,

have patience with me, and I will pay thee all.

And he would not, but went and cast him into prison

till he should pay the debt.

So when his fellow servants saw what was done,

they were very sorry, and came and told unto their lord

all that was done.

Then his lord, after that he had called him, said unto him,

oh thou wicked servant, I forgave thee all that debt

because thou desiredst me.

Shouldest not thou also have had compassion

on thy fellow servant, even as I had pity on thee?

And his lord was wroth, and delivered him to the tormentors

till he should pay all that was due unto him.

So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you,

if ye from your hearts forgive not

every one his brother their trespasses.

And he turned him unto his disciples and said privately,

blessed are the eyes which see the things that ye see,

for I tell you that many prophets and kings

have desired to see those things which ye see

and have not seen them,

and to hear those things which ye hear

and have not heard them.
