happy birthday Lily oh I believe I'm

spending another birthday without you

all part of being an assistant at a top

design firm I have to pay my dues

heading there now they just have to

prove that I have what it takes to be

Hawthorne and Associates newest interior

design well good luck and we're rooting

for you good luck all right I gotta run

I love you both

love it

with custom stainless steel finishes and

the open concept floor plan this design

narrative highlights the spectacular

city views

and finally I have a classic at

contemporary home this design utilizes

the monochromatic tones white faux

leather accents and soft Grace to

highlight a sophisticated finish very

impressive Lily thank you

technically speaking your design

abilities are strong

but I need to see more oh well I have

some more in my blog not more designs

more you

or me

your renderings and Designs are well

assembled but they're missing your

essence your thumbprint

my thumbprint the success of Hawthorne

designs lies in the uniqueness of our

team of designers

but tell me what is Lily's passion

my passion is to create a space for my

clients to feel at home in truthfully

Lily you are the best assistant that

this firm has ever seen

your portfolio is strong clearly you're

talented

this isn't a no

it's a not yet

more weeks let's just circle back

thank you

[Music]

[Music]

[Music]

hey Miss Bartlett hello Marcus lovely to

see your handsome face

perfect someone who would love to meet

you well aren't you a sweetheart playing

Matchmaker for an old lady like me

bill of health

Lantern Festival always brings out a lot

of new faces doesn't it

we'll find some homes

[Music]

and so Dan says to the guy he says well

that's not a condominium that's a kind

of Maximum a classic fan am I right

Bradford last text I promise

I'm all yours

okay

oh I almost forgot how did the interview

go

am I looking at Hawthorne's newest

interior design uh not quite

I'm sorry little no no it's not a no

it's um it's not yet

apparently I need to find what inspires

me and highlight it in my work

I'm just feeling Tapped Out

well I believe in you you know you will

find inspiration again

soon

I hope so

I thought I would have been promoted by

now

it's been my goal since college so one

thing I've been focused on well Stan

always says squeaky wheel gets the

grease

keep on doing what you're doing

in the meantime happy birthday dear Lily

happy birthday

to you

foreign

hello hey it's me

it's me Christy is everything okay yeah

it's your Aunt Maggie

okay I'll be right there

my aunts had a fall I have to go see her

can we have a redo of this of course I I

understand uh

call me when you land yeah

[Music]

beautiful isn't it

I fall in love with the island this time

of year

not a big fan of flying huh

no I'm a good firearm I think it was

you're driving

flying that's what you want to call it I

call flying

okay it just it made me a little nervous

nauseous

well apologies it was my first time

is it your first time

that was a joke

yeah I don't think Pilots should joke

about flying I didn't say it was a very

good joke

I got it are you sure because I could

take it up for you Stock's a little

tough to navigate for a uh

for a

City girl in heels but you know what you

seem like you got it under control so

be my guest

[Music]

s

thank you

how are you how are you

oh okay you need to breathe at some

point oh how old are you you look

amazing they're feeding you in that big

old city how did you get here so quick

well the flights were booked so I drove

all night and booked the first try to

play now

how is she

look she's fine she's better

but she is going to be thrilled to see

you she was always there for me so it's

the least I could do I'm just glad she

finally asked

about that

[Music]

what Aunt Maggie doesn't know you're

here

what she didn't want you to go out of

your way and she knows how much your job

means to you so

surprise

she's inside

all right well I'm glad you called it

she would have asked me herself

Lily

oh I miss you so much oh what a surprise

um mind the mess we had a small leaf and

I haven't had a chance to clean up yet

that's what I'm here for I will do all

the heavy lifting while you get all the

rest that you need it's just a sprain

the doctor said it should heal in a few

weeks if I stay out of it as much as

possible if she keeps off it that's the

key she keeps trying to do everything

at myu you need to know that when

something like this happens you can call

me I know dear but I understand you're

busy I am never too busy for you

no really I should have I should have

taken some time earlier to come visit

like

I can't believe it's been two years

since I've been here

but somehow it feels like I never left

your parents they were the sweetest

people ever

this is my favorite photo of them

you were just a little girl

and you know Lily even though they're no

longer with us their spirit will always

be here at the end exactly

oh the end looks amazing here

that was the time that your father gave

it a Fresh coat of paint

you know come to think of it I think

that may have been the last time the end

was painted

what

you know sweetie the intake's a lot of

work not just to run but needs

Renovations and the maintenance alone

would you need to hire someone I can I

can do that for you business is slowed I

can't afford any extra help well then I

can do it what do you need

[Music]

I'm afraid

it's time for me to sell the in

[Music]

what in truth I just can't keep up

anymore

but

I no it's okay sweetie yeah it's just

time

[Music]

I just wish you told me sooner

it hasn't been an easy decision

I didn't want to take you away from your

life in a big city

you know Maggie I could always do more

thank you Christy

but you already do more than your fair

share for both me and the end

you always go above and beyond your Chef

duties

I've been running this in for over 30

years

time for a change

[Music]

hey Kristen hi hey I just came by to

drop off some more flyers for Pilots for

pups absolutely anywhere I'm here would

be great okay how is the adoption center

going oh I'm just getting so many pups

right now trying to get the word out

see this little guy I got him a home

last week

[Music]

this girl is looking for a home

oh hello oh my goodness

hello Marcus this your phone number

it is

you again

[Music]

you again

that's uh

that's my dog sort of your Marcus and

your sort of dog is Marcus yes

uh well no um

my name is Marcus and it's on her tag

because he says she doesn't have a name

yet why doesn't she have a name well

she's a rescue and when we find a rescue

that doesn't have a name I put my name

and number on the tag until we find them

a new owner I uh

rescue dogs I see I see that way when we

find the new owner they have the honor

of

naming their forever friend did you find

her

here we all are

so you all know Marcus yeah he lives in

the garden Suite

you live in the garden Suite I live in

the garden Suite

I have you two met oh yeah he uh I flew

her

he flew me

well thanks for stopping by Marcus

you're welcome uh

Lily oh yep I am Lily well thank you

Lily for taking such good care of her

if I can never repay the favor you let

me know oh not necessary well I would be

offended if you left without taking one

of my apple cinnamon muffins

ladies

what

[Music]

I'm

either way leave me a message better yet

hey uh it's me I'm here in Aunt Maggie

is okay

uh

I know you're busy so just um give me a

call when you can

it's about the end

okay bye

I know that's funny oh Mr and Mrs Harlow

welcome back happy anniversary thank you

and how many years has it been now 20

years and we've spent every one of those

anniversaries here we just love Harbor

islanding your aunt Maggie's in well we

love having you here one thing the

faucet in our room seems to have a

little drip oh I will take a look at it

thank you enjoy your anniversary thanks

[Music]

so I can't believe she's selling it what

about you what are you gonna do well I'm

hoping that the new buyer will ever stay

as you know business has been kind of

slow this past year but I thought that

maybe I could help turn things around

you know yeah

but right now I am just happy to be

spending time with my best friend the

whole world I wish I could stay longer

plus thin needs a little more love than

I seem to remember

well not to mention you missed the

Lantern Festival oh I love the Lantern

Festival

yeah it works really busy right now I I

don't think I can

at least if you don't stay someone else

can win this Lantern

okay well I better get going because I'm

actually making mac and cheese tonight

do you want to join uh I think I'm gonna

wander a bit just suck up the town as

much as I can plus I have to stop in at

the general store later right okay I'll

see you later

thanks

[Music]

[Music]

John really

I haven't seen you in a dog's age yep

does anything I can help you with uh

actually yeah I'm looking for some light

bulbs ah well right this way

such a lovely Place well thank you

listen if there's anything that puts a

sparkle in your eye you just let me know

[Music]

hello again

hello there

hey oh you two uh know each other no

they're all friends hey

so what brings you here oh just uh

trying to get the word out about Pilots

for pups try taking out an ad online

I'm not really big on the whole

internet thing I'm more about uh Island

time

yeah you got me

that's it

ah

oh you like that huh

you know everywhere you take this

they'll always show you which way is

home it's beautiful

tell you what it's yours

no John no I can possibly no no no it's

on the house

do with it what you will

thank you

okay uh I should get back to the end

that's great thank you check my email

not me don't work too hard City girl

oh and uh Marcus

you need any help with

keep it in mind

yeah just just the milk

[Music]

hello dear how's the room are you warm

enough oh it's perfect thank you how's

work coming

I don't know

I feel stuck I think I have a case of

design block

well maybe spending some time away from

the hustle and bustle of the city will

help you get inspired again

I found this box of photos when I was

tidying up for the open house in a

couple of weeks I thought you might like

to look through yeah

yeah oh

I remember that it's been hours painting

that Lantern

even as a little girl you had a love for

design hmm

and looks amazing with those twinkly

lights

I wish there was something I could do to

save it I know dear I wish I could too

I'm just so glad you're home even if

it's just a quick visit

Maybe

I could stay longer

what about work I could email them check

in see if I could get some more time

and maybe you're right maybe some time

away from the city is exactly what I

need and then I could help you stage the

inn and get it ready for the open house

[Music]

Overjoyed okay oh

[Music]

thank you

foreign

[Music]

hey

what's going on City Girl

oh I'm I'm not really a city girl

I'm from Harbor Island right but you're

going back to the city aren't you yeah

that's not the point no

what is the point

my point

my point is that that is

not red cedar

what well defense it's it's made out of

red cedar and that wood that you're

using that's just Pinewood

so

it it doesn't match oh yeah well I don't

think anyone noticed that doesn't match

well it's not just about what it looks

like a red cedar is a superior wood so I

mean it was traditionally used for

building boats

yeah is that so yeah I wasn't live at

Cedar

[Music]

do you happen to have any cedar on you

red cedar and no obviously not

Shucks well fence is broken now it's

fixed

foreign

lucky for you you won't have to look at

it much longer I guess

actually I'm staying

is that so yeah and Maggie she got the

most value for the family property so

I'm gonna stick around until we find a

new buyer that will show the end of the

same kind of love that our family has

for years well if you need any help

um yeah actually

what if we could help each other

[Music]

well I know internet

right

I could help you make a website for your

adoption center get the word out online

about Pilots for pups

and then you could you help with some

work around the end you really don't

just like to ask for help do you

I would just really like to return the

favor

well I mean it sounds like a deal that I

can't pass up

big idea

we got a deal City Girl

thank you

[Music]

please please

[Music]

need a hand

no I'm good well that's a look much

improved from the big city business

attire yep well I wasn't expecting

what are you doing here I came to

deliver this scent Maggie figured

nothing will get her on the fast track

to Healing like famous shepherd's pie

you cook is that like some sort of

hidden talent that's one of them sure

one of them also you have multiple

hidden talents uh at least four

that's impressive I can uh

make shepherd's pie yes that is number

one I can fly a plane so that's two you

consider that hidden I do uh number

three I know the few spots around here

where there is cell reception

and I'd be happy to show you but isn't

it kind of nice not being glued to that

thing no no I feel so out of touch with

all the important stuff important stuff

yeah calling texting emailing not to

mention I have have a Blog to update

oh please tell me that you know what a

Blog is I know what a Blog is

you're not one of those people

really

how do you check your email I just

prefer a more personal connection

you know face to face you know you can't

make a personal connection online you

surprised oh no way

all right well I should get back to work

change

I'll leave you to it

three steps to your left

hey I've been trying to get a hold of

you yeah Wi-Fi around here is that's a

little unpredictable

oh I emailed work and they actually said

I could take all the time I needed so I

was thinking I was gonna stay a little

bit longer like at least until the open

house and then that way I could help

that Maggie get the in ready to sell oh

well I'm sure you're and we'll be happy

to have you yeah

um would you want to come out and visit

yeah I understand

I'll tell you what I'll see what I can

do and maybe I can squeeze you in

tonight yeah

yeah hopefully see you tonight great

oh hey Marcus here taking another ride

yes I need to get the word out about

pounds for pups we've got

a few more dogs this year than we

expected and they need forever homes

okay well the next cycle will be the

late fall Edition which goes into

circulation November 1st that'll publish

almost two months from now

yeah

uh you could publish your ad online get

the word out quicker yeah yeah that

should be easy enough right no it's very

simple just go to our website create an

online profile upload a photo I love

information about yourself and submit

we'll publish it within 48 hours

I would need a smartphone for that right

or a tablet yeah I don't own a

smartphone

or a tablet no

you're like a dinosaur

technology just isn't really my thing

well I I can help you with that

no no thank you

um

I'll catch you later Jasper wait wait

um did you still want to place an eye

for the fall Edition

yes yes okay great all right let's get

started

[Music]

hey okay hello there

what you doing

just uh

working

are you um busy

uh you could say that yeah right

um it's just I'm kind of in over my head

and

I need you need

pup I'm sorry you have to say a little

louder I can't hear you

help yes help we need help

okay I'd be honored City Girl

uh tomorrow morning bright and early

yes ma'am

[Music]

oh pretty thank you yeah all right have

a good night

hey Marcus evening hello

tomorrow

where are you headed

guys have a good evening

I'm starved yeah yeah pretty deep yes

[Music]

thank you so much for coming out here it

really means a lot

well when you invited me I was I was

slammed with meetings but I managed to

talk Dan into letting me take my girl

out

I'm glad it worked out

Cheers Cheers

so tell me how how have things been here

good yeah I'm trying to come up with new

designs for work but

drawing a blank but I am really excited

about the in refresh it's for the open

house

I found this really incredible vintage

wallpaper and oh it's uh it's Dan I

should uh

sorry where were we

I was just telling you

sand what

will you excuse me for a sec I'm gonna

go see if there's a better signal

okay

sorry about that

we are so close to sealing the steel I'm

on the edge of myself

oh sorry you're saying something about a

wallpaper yeah yeah I found this really

incredible oh I I gotta take this

um go ahead start without me and oh if

our waiter comes back can you ask him

for a shot of espresso better yet make

that uh

we barely at your dinner

they still have lots of leftovers for

later sure I can enjoy it on the ferry

tonight

you're going back to the city tonight

yeah I wish I could stay but I I got to

get back to work you know how it is

can I at least show you then

I don't think I have time I mean the

last Ferry leaves in less than an hour

and

I'm sorry Lily works just too crazy

right now it's not just Nano crap okay

you know that big deal I was telling you

about we're we're signing first thing

tomorrow morning

this is really great news

yeah it's great

you seem disappointed

look Bradford I

I care a lot about you

sense and there's a butt

I just feel like we're on different

pages

we've

apparently we haven't

we've known each other for a long time

and

always changed

I just

I feel like I'm not being true to myself

anymore

[Music]

you do

[Music]

because I don't want to let you go

I I care about you

I want you to be happy

I want you to be happy too

I better catch that fair here or else

I'm gonna have to swim back to Seattle

[Music]

see in the city

yeah I'll see you

[Music]

so

so it's terrible isn't it no it's just

earthy I was talking about the wall

right uh

no the wall is it's not as bad as it

looks I mean we should be able to fix it

no problem you don't like the coffee no

no it's delicious uh

[Music]

um

yeah I haven't figured out Christie's

coffee maker yet

so I wasn't expecting to have to repair

a wall

well lucky for you the wall is

repairable

coffee on the other hand

sorry

follow my lead on the wall oh my laid on

the paint

right this way

so

we Mark where we want to cut

like so beautiful okay

and put these on City girl thank you sir

Safety First

it's a good look for you

thank you

now

stand back

okay that should do the trick hole is

patched ball is primed we're just going

to take some measurements figure out how

much paint we need pass me the

nice catch thank you

so

so

I was uh dinner last night

the food was delicious

um but we decided to break up

okay

yeah it was time

okay

he was a great guy it was just um

that's always about work

yeah

yeah I know

you do

yeah it's a

it's a long story but I understand

thanks for understand

should we do the uh paint colors yes

um do you mind holding these up yes

ma'am

okay so we have Misty Blossom or soft

down

yeah it's like

it's like the gray because it's not

great soft down

okay soft down it is okay perfect hold

still

are you sure they match yeah I know you

just need to see it in the right light

yeah that's perfect

you can relax

laughs

you sure do have an eye for this stuff

thanks

thank you for your help

anytime City Girl

good morning sunshine

coffee is delicious

same coffee as yesterday really yeah and

the day before

nobody makes it like you

oh and that is a month old paper I'm

using it to wrap the jars for the

festival I don't mind it's nice to catch

up on what's happened on the islands

foreign

can I help put the dishes away

um they are away I'm maxed out on

cupboard space so they just live on the

counter

is there something different about you I

don't think so

it's just that you seem lighter or

something

well it's nice to be doing what I love

in a place that I love well the dining

room has never looked better you're

doing a great job thank you Marcus too

he has been so helpful is that so yep

he's also kind of cute

stuff

sorry

it is weird though I mean four days on

the island I feel miles away from my

life in the city

but this break has been perfect and

after the open house I will get back to

my real life and I will finally land

that interior design position

Lily

we've known each other since we were

kids and I understand that sometimes it

can be hard to let things go but maybe

this idea you have if that big city life

is just something you're holding on to

it's always been my dream

well maybe everything you need is right

in front of you already yeah I I

appreciate that you do

but I'm perfectly happy in the city

it wouldn't last time

please teach me how to make the coffee

[Music]

I have to do for now pups are fed and

walked need anything else before I head

out on my lunch break no thank you Angus

I could take it from here

don't know what we'd all do without you

Marcus jeez that's nothing really

really oh Marcus

I thought I'd find your handsome face

here I'm so glad you came by I've got

someone I would love for you to meet

Angus I would love to pitch you my

Lantern idea for the Festival this year

did you see you as always right this way

Miss B someone over here is dying to

meet you I was just gonna head next door

to the cafe to get a sandwich anyone

need anything you had me at Sandwich I'd

love to join you of course

oh

hey hey how's everything going well I

might be a better Matchmaker with people

than with dogs but it's

good thing I'm here then time to build

your website

oh it'll be great

I'll start by just asking some questions

about each pup we'll take some photos

we'll post them online and we'll connect

them with all sorts of proper accounts

okay

it's the best it could happen

so clearly this is chance he's three

years old and he is a real charmer he's

beautiful chance has mastered the art of

sleeping upside down on the sofa which

is by far his favorite position he also

enjoys a nice romp in the yard here with

his doggy buddies oh my goodness who's

that Lily I'd like you to meet wish but

you two seem pretty well acquainted

already Bush came to us in a uh a bed

made out of a box with these pillows in

it and on the side it said wish Orchard

so naturally we called her wish

when I was little we had a golden

retriever growing up it actually looked

a lot like wish

I used to love that the hair on the back

of her ears was so soft

reminded me of home

[Music]

that should just about do it now the

worldwide web gets to do it

there are lots of families out there who

are looking for beautiful dogs just like

these guys so upstairs just another way

to get the word out

what do we gotta lose

you got me great

and

published

now we wait

it's doing just fine didn't know what I

was missing

yeah

when you caught my eye I knew I was just

existing

gotta know your name gotta know what's

in your hearts

[Music]

[Music]

oh

yeah can I take that for you thank you

I may or may not have been a fall last

night and most of today working on it

no no no no no but you're up all night

after all that work we did yesterday you

must be exhausted yeah it's funny feel

more energized forever has it started

yet

we're right on time all right good

afternoon everyone and welcome to Harbor

Island's annual Lantern Festival

thank you all for coming the Harbor

Island Lantern Festival celebrates a

special tradition as old as the island

itself and today

we honor that great tradition by hanging

lanterns in the town Harbor to welcome

back our fishermen coming home from

their long Journeys at sea the lights

from the lanterns symbolize the spirit

of our community

all right well may the best lanterns win

[Applause]

okay can I finally have a look okay

that might be the nicest Lantern I've

ever seen all right thank you let's wait

till we see it all lit up

oh Christy that's awesome thank you it's

my take on a chef's hat although I think

it looks more like a cloud or maybe a

muffin

now I'm hungry

is that yours yeah oh that's

breathtaking Lily thank you now even

more hungry

we have here

Lily

you never disappoint thank you Angus

[Music]

duty calls

our wonderful judge I just wanted to let

you know that I have designed my lantern

with you in mind is that so yeah it's a

pineapple

tough on the outside sweet on the inside

I'm flattered this part

[Music]

hi everybody uh can I get your attention

over here please

this is the last call to cast your votes

for best lantern now obviously there's a

lot of lovely options here tonight so

make sure you get your votes in

and now that is officially sundown

you may release your lanterns into the

water have fun everybody

the day

vanish into years

I never knew that space could keep us

near

funny how we fall

Wherever We Belong

and if you ever want to do

[Music]

in every way

ladies and gentlemen this is the moment

you've all been waiting for your votes

have all been counted and the winner of

this year's award for best lantern goes

to

Lily Summers

[Applause]

congratulations thank you

wow thank you all oh what an honor

you know I read somewhere it was on a

fridge Magnet or a bumper sticker but

it said the enchanting thing about a

small town is that although it can feel

good to leave it feels a thousand times

better to come home

that's my niece

now my Lantern this year was inspired by

my Aunt Maggie and her magical aunt and

I was lucky enough to grow up on Harbor

Island and the beauty here is it goes

beyond what you see the beauty about

Harbor Island is

that it's also a feeling and it's one

that warms my heart so thank you all

again so much

[Music]

you know a good award-winning Lantern

speech always just seems to brighten up

my night

you like that right okay uh thank you

Lily and with that in mind thank you all

for a very wonderful night enjoy the

rest of the festivities

thank you

that's what I'm doing yeah join yours

there's the Winner's Circle

um I was actually just gonna go take a

walk if you'd like to join

[Music]

yeah I could uh

use a stroll

[Applause]

I'll be the fourth in Talent I'm

guessing yeah you got me

[Music]

such a lovely night

yeah it is

oh I might have found a home for wish or

a golden retriever oh that's amazing

yeah

[Music]

five Pilots

that's for pups

uh well a couple years ago

I had a friend who was Springer Spaniel

named Rusty who needed a home

and I gave him a hand looking for

someone we found this

sweet retired couple on Queensbury

Island and I flew him over

and

the moment that I dropped Rusty off

I don't know I just knew that nothing

I'd ever done had felt

quite so satisfying

so I decided to open the adoption center

and dedicate my time to finding homes

for these pups

so that's why Pilots for pups

I just I love finding homes for these

dogs

even if I haven't

quite found one for myself yeah

oh so that's why you're at the end

yeah

yeah I'm

kind of looking for the perfect property

on the island to call home

for now the Inn just feels more like

home than anywhere I've lived

what's it

[Music]

I think I am inspired again and when

inspiration hits I have to follow thank

you

thank you

uh yeah you're welcome

[Music]

foreign

what did you do to my kitchen where are

all my dishes I put them away

where

well you said that your max out of

covered space so I put in some new

shelves so I've organized it like this

but you can arrange it however you like

are you happy is that your happy face

you have no idea how much this means to

me

thank you no of course

of course

okay all right to work yes hungry has to

feed okay

sure you don't need any more help no

it's almost done I just uh you just set

the timer for 20 minutes and breakfast

will be through yay

so what have you got going

to Missy

I'm gonna do some painting rearrange

some furniture oh John's lending us some

antique furniture so Marcus and I are

gonna go pick it up later

when you see more energetic than ever I

don't know be in the island all of it

it's just nice and finally feeling

inspired again

do you remember our senior year dance

when you insisted everyone on the

decoration committee had to come dressed

in their favorite shade of autumn uh and

we came dressed as pumpkins very chic so

hard to win a dance competition in a

pumpkin suit oh

but we did

yeah yeah

[Music]

[Music]

[Music]

[Music]

Marcus

really

Christy

hey Marcus how long have you um have you

been standing there oh long enough

so uh what brings you back is early just

came to pick up Lily right yes uh we

have some work to do

um okay uh yeah I'm gonna go grab my

sweater um

stuff oh

meet you in the lobby sounds good

old high school dance routine

yeah definitely

oh I love this place Billy hey John

Marcus hey hey I got a delivery of a few

Classics I think you're gonna love oh

this looks amazing

anything you like they're yours do you I

don't even know what to say I mean

thank you we'll have a look take your

time

wow it's quite the collection

oh this would be amazing in the lobby

what

nothing you just uh

for quite the eye

can we take it up to the truck ah yeah

that would be great thank you

don't need that not bad

ah so is there anything else that you've

seen oh it's too much it's too hard to

choose not I promise we will repay the

favor as soon as we're done with the

open house

there's no rush these things aren't

going anywhere

you know

this whole in refresh has been really

wonderful but it's awesome

it's bittersweet I know as much as I've

enjoyed getting the end ready to sell

them

and be heartbroken when it's gone

you know what matters is the memories

that you have here

you know

before you came along

Marcus was a bit of a lone wolf

and now that you hear well

let's just say that um it's been a while

since I've seen that sparkle in his eye

anything else uh well

how about this number right here

[Music]

thank you

[Music]

all right everyone three and a half days

until the open house where there's an

end there's a way

[Music]

thank you

[Music]

well the property surveyor just left he

said he should have a report for us in a

couple of days great thank you for doing

that of course dear

okay where do you want this last box uh

just anywhere behind the desk it's great

I think that pretty much does it I think

we're just about ready for the open

house thank you I don't know how we

would have done all this without you I'm

happy to help

you have uh

you saw some

[Music]

I will get that hello

[Music]

I think you and Marcus should come down

to the adoption center

you may want to see this

okay we will be right there

you know how lily started that new

pilots for Pop's website

well I think it worked oh

oh goodness 23 new emails oh this is

amazing

look

well I think we just found a home for

your Terrier

family says that they've been looking

for a dog just like your rescue

and they have a farm on the other side

of the island so plenty of room for her

to run and play make an idea maybe this

online stuff isn't so bad uh-huh

so do you want to answer of course yeah

send them an application I mean you're

right they look like the perfect family

[Music]

thank you

this is called Spore

celebration

I've had this in the back for a while

I'm not waiting for just the right

vacation

[Applause]

[Music]

literally dozens of emails Christy from

all across the country I'm so happy for

you

to be honest though I'm feeling a little

conflicted why conflicted it it just

about going back to the city so soon

well maybe you should stay

but I can't

I can't I have a whole life over there

and I have to be ready to go back with

my thumbprint your thumbprint

yeah it's a design thing

uh

what about markets you guys seem

like you have a lot in common Marcus and

I are just friends

and besides

after the open household

I'll just head back and that will be

that so

nice I wish there was a way I could do

the thing that I love and the place that

I love you know I do

evening ladies hey Marcus

so I spoke to that family with the farm

yeah and uh I'm gonna take the Terry

there tomorrow amazing yeah

um I was wondering if maybe you wanted

to come with

yeah I love that yeah yeah okay cool um

I'll meet you in front of the morning

okay

what

I like

[Music]

thank you

[Music]

thank you

[Music]

I wasn't driving I give you five stars

coming from you that's a big company

[Music]

thank you

[Music]

hey oh

you must be Marcus yeah it's great to

meet you Mrs Anderson it's a pleasure to

meet you

there you are thank you thank you so

much we haven't been quite ready for a

new dog since we lost our Terrier

Charlie last year but when we saw this

gorgeous girl on your blog we just fell

in love

looks like she likes you

what's her name you get the owner of

naming your new forever friend

how about Sandy Sandy

well what do you think Sandy

it's been a real pleasure

you'll be good okay

enjoy guys thanks again yeah no problem

thank you enjoy take care bye bye now

Let's Do It Good Girl

thank you for inviting me along today so

glad I came

a sweet family yeah they work

I'm really lucky to get to do what I do

I mean if I can make a difference in one

person's life then I'm just a happier

guy how I feel about interior design

yeah I know that sounds funny but

if I can bring joy to someone's life

then

it's all worth it

the end is obviously very close to your

heart oh it's my home growing up

my parents always made sure that it was

just

this beautiful place filled with love

I lost them when I was young in a car

accident so Aunt Maggie raised me

she became my second mom

I love her and the end so much but

As I Grew Older I just felt like I

needed some time away from Harbor Island

that's why we moved the city

yeah I always had this idea of having

this like perfectly designed life in the

city

um but since I've been back I've just

been flooded with all these wonderful

memories

both from a long time ago and

the new ones we've all been creating

here

it feels like my heart's filling up

again

and the more that we're renovating the

end

why I wish there was a way we could keep

it

[Music]

my family lived on Harbor Island for

generations and used to spend Summers

with my grandmother

she was just

the sweetest Soul you ever met

I wish I spent more time with everyone

and she was still here but

my ex wasn't exactly a fan of the island

I was a

a long time ago though

anyways when my grandmother passed came

back here to deal with her estate and

that's when I checked into your aunts in

[Music]

turns out it is a pretty special place

yeah it really is

you know what I realized when I got back

here

it's not about how much you have

it's about what you do with it

now it's just me

and my plane and these dogs

and up until now

that's all I needed

what's on your mind

yeah

nothing

[Music]

everything's further

[Music]

Lil

Bradford

[Music]

I should give you two

minute

um no it's good to see you again

Bradford you as well yeah

catch you guys later

I I don't know if it's fate or second

chances but

back in the city Dan said that he saw

the in for sale and uh well I thought

this could be a great opportunity

use it for you uh

hi

hi so you are here for work

yeah well you know me I I couldn't miss

out on a business opportunity I do know

that

oh you remember Dan Lily yes of course

just taking a walk around the inn and I

gotta say it really is quite something

it's quaint

small but Charming would you gentlemen

like a tour actually we need to get

going check out some of the bigger

properties on the island we'd love to be

the first ones to see the end though uh

how about a proper tour tomorrow morning

huh before the open house yeah that

sounds good

um yeah enjoy the island we'll see you

tomorrow

great

[Music]

bye bye thanks again

[Music]

the land surveyor delivered his report

he said the good thing is that the

property line includes all of the

untouched land next door which is an

exceptional amount that is amazing okay

what's the bad news well you said

there's structural damage in the

foundation due to land shifting

I mean it means that it's a very costly

repair potentially red flag for future

buyers unless unless we can find someone

with a lot of money to invest

but don't worry with all the land next

door it could be worth their while

my favorite part about the Inn is its

19th century design and of course this

incredible few this is a stunning

property

a stunning View

no we did receive some unfortunate news

last night it seems that there is a

crack in the foundation well that is

unfortunate however the good news is

that the property line includes all of

the untouched land next door

that's a lot of acreage

I would love to see the paperwork on

that

of course

oh um

oh yeah Dan Speaker

you have done an amazing job thank you

yeah now all your hard work is going to

pay off

fingers are crossed

I just

hoping to find the right owner to

Breathe new life into this

magical place

you will

I should have

well uh enjoy the openness see you in a

bit

[Music]

you look amazing no thank you so do you

hey have you seen Marcus

um he's outside I think okay why is

everything okay yeah no it's fine um I

just haven't seen him since Bradford

showed up and

and

these look incredible thank you Christy

you are the best thank you

foreign

[Music]

hi everyone

thank you so much for coming today

when I was a little girl I always

thought that the end was the most

magical place and my parents loved it

too

now we've put a lot of love and care

into shining it up like new again

so my only hope is that we can pass it

on to somebody who will give it as much

love and care as we all have through the

years

ladies and gentlemen I give you the

Harbor Island in open house please have

a look around and have fun

[Applause]

we're going through these

oh would you of course

I'm telling you we got a strike while

the iron is hot

it goes on for Acres both sides property

line goes well beyond that

yeah out right to the Shoreline this Inn

is a gold mine for development

we can go 15 20 stories easy

now I just saw his handsome little face

and it was love at first sight hey Miss

Bartlett Lily can I talk to you

excuse me of course

so I'll tell Marcus

what's going on

your boyfriend came here to buy the Inn

okay well maybe you don't know your ex

as well as you thought you did

I overheard that Dan guy from the sounds

of it they don't have any intention of

keeping me in wait what do you

what are you still open house Lily thank

you so much you two thank you

wait there must be some sort of

misunderstanding Bradford he'd never do

something like that

believe me

no I'm not saying that I don't believe I

want to tear down the end and put up

condos really

I mean it's as simple as that he's all

business

Bradford cares about money

I was going to say more than money

well he definitely doesn't care about

the Inn

we can't afford not to sell

there might be another option but look I

care put this in you care about the sin

just call off the open house please

Marcus I really appreciate all of your

help I do but I

I'm gonna need you to trust me I just

stay out of it

okay yeah

clearly I overstepped

stay out of your way

[Music]

but do you look at this place

such a success I'm gonna need some more

big treats

ladies and gentlemen I have an

announcement to make

gather round everyone gather round

I've always been a fan of a beautiful

place

in this Harbor Island Inn is one of the

most beautiful properties I've ever had

the pleasure of setting foot on

now I just got off the phone with my

team at real estate West and we would

like to make a very generous offer on

the end

real estate West sees great potential in

Harbor Island and although this Inn is a

breathtaking site we'd like to replace

it with a new breathtaking site

a 15 story

condo vacation resort development

this is going to change the face of

Harbor Island

as I've always said the higher We rise

the better The View

look at this this is as much of a

surprise to me as it is to you I Dan

went ahead and did this himself I feel

like excuse me

I know how much this place means to you

Lily

may I

sorry little

I honestly had no idea what Dan was up

to well I understand it's

just business don't take the offer

stay longer and keep looking for the

right buyer

too

and it needs repairs

what if we can't find the perfect buyer

someone who's willing to invest that

much money in it before they can even do

anything with it

truly I'm sorry though

[Music]

hello

Lily hi this is Beatrice Hawthorne

Miss Hawthorne hi I was so lovely to

hear from you

we saw your new contributions to your

design blog Harbor Island is where the

heart is

strong work Lily very strong work I

wanted to personally congratulate you

thank you Mrs Hawthorne thank you um

this is the exact Personal Touch that we

have been looking for with you

your renderings of the Harbor Island in

our well they have your unique

thumbprint all over it

so how would you like to come in this

week for that second interview

Lily are you there

yeah I'm I'm here so what do you think

I can't

okay well um how about next week

Miss author I have I have truly loved

working for your company

my inspiration

is right here

okay Lily

I wish you all the best

[Music]

well we did our best it's no use being

upset

I didn't have much choice and it was

time to sell them

Savor the time we have left here

wow you look amazing

um

I was offered a second interview in the

city for the interior design position

but I didn't take it but

it's been your dream

ever since I've been on the island I've

I felt the shift in me

and I had an idea

I'm not ready to let the end go so

easily so I'm going to try one more

thing

what's that well I'm going into the city

to talk to my bank to see if I could get

a loan it would be for the repair of the

foundations and any Renovations that we

would need to get the in up and running

again but I would like to help you run

The Inn at Mikey with your help of

course well of course but but what about

your dreams of being an interior

designer well I still love ideas for new

designs and as I'm helping you run the

end I could renovate the rooms one at a

time

that is amazing

now I always thought the inspiration was

just this collection of perfectly

curated designs

starting to realize that I need to

follow my heart a little more that

sounds wonderful and no matter what

happens I'm just so proud of you thank

you

[Music]

[Music]

[Applause]

[Music]

thank you

[Music]

hey hey hey

Marcus

really

[Music]

you're still here

you were right

I should have listened to you right

I think I've just been stuck in this

idea of what my life should look like

and

the truth is I wasn't happy

I'm sorry don't don't don't

apologize okay you

you were right

I was overstepping

I just I can't bear to see the end goal

what's worse is the thought of not

seeing your face every day

I made a counteroffer on the end

see I've been waiting to purchase the

perfect property for my forever home

[Music]

it's been right in front of me all along

counteroffers in your name

and it's only if you want it okay

you can't be serious

I've never been more serious about

anything in my life

I don't

[Music]

know

yes yes

um

yes only if I can pay you back

you drive a hard bargain

yeah

I will need some help around the end

I might know somebody that can do the

job

it's a big deal

no we got a deal City Girl

there's something else that

I've been wanting to do for a while now

[Music]

oh I did have one idea though maybe we

could uh

[Music]

thank you

[Music]

foreign

[Music]

[Music]

thank you

thank you

[Music]
