" Flipped "

Episode 8

The thunder is too strong, the magnetic field is disrupted.

Ai, send me a photo of the hotel.

Yes, Mr. Qi.

Miss Du, she is not in the hotel.

I called the people on the hill.

The red alert for thunder storm is in effect.

The road is sealed off. We can't go back now.

You can leave now.

Luckily I was one step ahead.

Otherwise I wouldn't even be here.

- Why are you here? - The team for Qilin Art Gallery,

they arrived in afternoon. Where is the car?

- It's in the parking lot. - Give me the key.

Are you going up the hill to find her?

That is too dangerous. And you can't drive.

I am aware of that.

I lost her, she is my responsibility.

Qi Xun!

Mr. Qi, the files...

This is strange. Where is he?

He disappeared?

Qi Xun, leave this to me. It's dangerous out there.

What if something happens to you? Who should be responsible?

Me!

I have never seen you drive a car before.

Wait!

Listen, if anything happens to you,

MIST will be meaningless to me.

I will sell my share to the rival you hated the most.

It will drive you crazy.

If anything does happens to me,

I leave MIST in your capable hand.

Qi Xun?

Qi Xun, you are out of your mind!

Feng Shuang Shuang!

Feng Shuang Shuang!

Feng Shuang Shuang!

I will follow you to the end of the world.

I know nothing will be easy.

Love needs us to be brave...

to face all those rumour circling around.

Just a look from your eyes...

will make my love more meaningful.

- How did you... - Silence.

But...

why are you suddenly here?

Did you come here on your own?

There is a storm out there. What if a landslide...

So you do know it's dangerous out there?

Why didn't you go back with them just now?

If you were in danger, who should be responsible?

Don't you know I am...

I am...

I am just like the other colleagues.

I am worried about you.

I don't know either.

I just followed the old lady for a while.

When I looked back, everyone was gone.

I don't get the signal here. I tried to call...

I tried to call...

You tried to call me?

Forget it.

I am glad you are all right.

I never thought you would come here.

I...

I am...

I am...

just taking shelter from the rain.

There is a new project nearby.

Really?

Yes.

You mentioned something about...

the old lady?

We met an old lady when we went to inspect the project.

Miss Lin who welcomed us requested...

not to remove the bridge.

But Wan Tian decided...

that the cost for fixing it and budget is too high.

The bridge can't be kept.

What are you thoughts?

As for the cost of repairing it,

I really can't argue with that.

But when it comes to design,

I think there is some room for it.

When I was on the bridge today,

I saw the old lady stay there for quite a while.

For someone with dementia...

to stay at a place for so long...

and go there so often,

perhaps that is the place with the most precious memories...

from her life.

So, I was thinking.

Is it possible...

to keep this bridge in the future planning of the hotel?

We can then embody a little tale in it.

It adds a sense of art to it.

When the tourists come here,

they will stay here.

They will be attracted by the bridge.

Anyway, I think...

design should not be done just for sake of design.

We should keep it on the original foundation of its value,

make it shine and more valuable.

Isn't that right?

See? You can speak properly.

Do you know what is your greatest flaw?

I don't know.

Your biggest flaw...

is that you belittle yourself too much.

You are born with the talent for drawing.

You got used to living on your own out there.

You can adapt anywhere.

However,

you always cage yourself inside a box.

It may seem strong,

but the box is easily see through.

Anyone can tell how fragile it is.

As for your quality;

in the same situation,

while the others are still complaining,

all you need is to step out from the box.

All will be solved.

This is something they can never have.

You are born with the ability to observe.

Just like what I said just now.

Isn't this...

a remarkable presentation?

Did it get through to you?

It got through.

About what?

I was actually amazing in your eyes.

Right.

You are drenched. You should get changed.

- I didn't bring any clothes. - I do.

Take it.

Thank you.

Excuse me, I will leave you be.

How did you get here?

I will explain later.

So you really are...

the Batman?

See? You are good eavesdropping,

picky at foods,

and you can appear at everywhere.

And you are rich.

Isn't this who the Batman is?

I am a patient.

Technically speaking, I am just like the normal person.

But somehow, we're a little different.

You?

Qi Tian and I.

I don't get it. What do you mean?

In your world,

all those with powers are strong and mighty.

But in reality,

we are much weaker than normal human.

When you are gifted with a power,

you are also stripped of something.

That is the reality.

So...

My power?

Anywhere I wish to go,

whether I have been there or just a look at the photo,

I can teleport there.

Teleport?

Is that how you got here just now?

No.

It's hard to teleport under stormy weather.

Thunder will affect the space-time and magnetic field.

So, that is how...

you got there in the nick of time...

when I am in danger.

But how?

You can appear there and here so quickly?

This is a little illogical.

Ever heard of Schrödinger's cat?

Worm-hole? Space compression? String theory?

You should at least know about quantum entanglement.

- Pen and paper? - Yes.

These are points A and B. For normal human,

passing through them requires displacement.

But now,

I am folding this paper.

These two points are now overlaid.

I get it now.

The overlapping of space and time?

For the others, point A and point B...

are miles away.

But for you,

it's just like a walk from the office to common lodge.

You teleportation is the door of the office.

- You do understand it well. - Of course.

Well, I was praised by the exotic Muppet once.

All I need to do...

is to put this...

right here.

Cool!

What about Qi Tian? Can she teleport too?

Everyone has a different ability.

But this is too awesome!

Every time I use the power,

my sense will be a hundred times sharper than normal person.

That includes my sight, hearing and sense of smell.

This is an experience...

the other will never understand.

That sounded lonely.

Not bad, I am used to it.

What about Qi Tian? What is her power?

Clairvoyance.

Clairvoyance.

That sounded even more powerful.

But because she knows the plan of the fate,

the price she pays...

is a shortened life.

A shortened life?

Is there anyway to help her?

Yes.

If we can find the legendary healer, we can help her.

What are you waiting for? We should go now!

We can save her life if we find the healer right?

It won't be so easy.

Let me help you.

See, every time I was in danger,

you came in just in time to save me.

It's been so many times now.

Take it as I am repaying you.

Whatever you need me to do,

I will...

- Is there anyway to help her? - Yes.

If we can find the legendary healer, we can help her.

What are you waiting for? We should go now!

We can save her life if we find the healer, right?

It won't be so easy.

Let me help you.

Good morning.

Madam.

See? I drew this.

Do you like it?

- What are you doing? - It's nothing.

Madam, you are here.

He is back.

He is back.

She once worked here as a volunteer teacher.

Then she fell in love with a soldier.

Every time the soldier came to see her teachings,

he never interrupted.

From a distance,

he stood her waiting for her.

When they are about to get married,

the war intensified.

The soldier answered the call of duty.

Before he left,

they bid each other farewell on this bridge.

She promised to wait for his return.

I think you know how it turned out now.

The soldier never came back to fulfil the promise.

Perhaps he went on a mission, or he went home.

He might have died on the battlefield.

The old lady waited,

and she spent her whole life waiting.

This is love.

When I was abroad, I keep tabs on the place.

I heard the orphanage is being moved.

A hotel will be here instead.

I was thinking that...

I should come here to be with her.

I can bid the orphanage farewell one last time.

After all,

this is the place...

I spent my childhood in.

So, you mean...

Yes.

I lived here as a kid.

I am a orphan.

Okay, this is where I see you off.

Wait.

Please pass this painting to the old lady.

Take it as my act of kindness for her.

Sure, no problem.

I will pass it for you.

Thank you.

Your girlfriend is thoughtful and adorable.

You need to be nice to her.

You don't understand. She is just silly.

Let's go.

Goodbye.

These are the places from site inspection...

that needed modification.

Any objection?

You can remove everything, but not the bridge.

Why?

It is obstructing the appearance.

The money is not worth it either.

I made up my mind. Think of something...

to represent the meaning of the bridge.

Dismiss.

What?

- I even got the plan ready. - That is all?

This can't be it.

How should I know?

What?

About the project at the hotel...

We have made the decision.

It's not about the design.

Shuang Shuang passed the test.

Since she is in my department,

I decided to let her stay.

That's all?

And...

the incident at the hill is my mistake.

I apologize.

It's not entirely your fault.

It's water under the bridge now.

And the construction...

I will leave you be.

Okay.
