Shiga Prefecture, Otsu City.

Founded during the Heian period (764),
upon the Chuo - Nihon Kaido (road),

this temple remains near
he center of Otsu city.

It is normally called "Miidera Temple,"

but the formal name is "Onjoji".

Today, the Kondo (main hall)
at Onjoji is designated
