Tonight is the first day
of the rest of my life.

- How lucky would I be

to find a second true love
in my lifetime?

I've had one that was
amazing, wonderful--

43 years of marriage to
my high-school sweetheart.

- ♪ I listen to my words,
but they fall far below ♪

- I married Toni in 1972.

- ♪ I let my music take me
where my heart... ♪

- We had 43 wonderful
years together.

We had a real typical but
beautiful life,

full of love,
full of activity.

And as years went on,
I retired.

We had a plan,

and we had an idea

of what our dream house
was going to be.

So, when Toni retired
at the end of May in 2017,

we bought that dream house.

Closed on it on June 6th.

♪ ♪

[light wind whooshing]

From June 6th on,

it didn't go
according to plan at all.

You know, she became ill...

and her situation got worse
over a couple of weeks.

It was July 7th,

and I said, Toni, we're
going to the emergency room.

[voice breaking] And so we went
to the local emergency room...

and she had
a bacterial infection.

At one point,
I counted 13 IV bottles.

And I go, my God.
What's going on?

That bacterial infection
infected her kidneys,

infected her liver.

And so I took...
[sniffles]

I took my wife to
the emergency room on July 7th,

and she never came home.

And she passed away
on July 15th.

[sniffles, cries]

Every time I look at that
lake, I go, this is her dream.

This is what she deserves.

Why am I standing here alone?

It will be six years
since Toni passed away.

No one's ever going
to replace Toni.

- I love you, Dad.
- Love you.

- Thanks, guys.

But the love of my daughters
and my granddaughters

pulled me out of a dark spot.

- This isn't to replace her

but to just find somebody
that makes you happy.

- I yearn
for the second chance in life

to fall in love again.

The person who can lay down
beside you at night,

not have to say anything,
and you feel it--

that's love.

That's what I want.

I'm ready for that.

And I hope that
person's out there.

At my age, I'm energetic.

I'm still connected
with my body

that I want
intimacy with a guy.

And since I really haven't
been in love in a long time,

I really do need someone to
step into my golden years with.

I have really good friends
and family,

so my life is really full.

But it's missing
a big piece--love.

Ironically, I was married
twice for seven years.

So I haven't had
a lifelong partner,

but I'm so ready for it.

out Gerry was the Bachelor,

I'm like, move over, bitches.

No, just kidding.

but I like to dance.

since my husband passed away,
