All language subtitles for 18. Keyframing in Action Part 1 Color Tab Kolder Creative

So I just want to show you guys

a real example of how I would clear
grade this clip specifically.

So what I would want to do with

this clip here is make this part darker.

Leave this middle part alone, but then
make this brighter part even brighter.

And I can do that

by framing masks or windows
within the keyframes window over here.

So with my first note selected, I'm

going to create a window
to cover this area over here.

And I'm going to keyframe it.

So I'm going to go to my windows
over here.

I'm going to create a polygon over here.

I'm going to move this down.

Can I just add a point over here?

At a point over here,
I'm going to hit shift A

to turn off that highlight
and I probably want it to be about there.

I'm going to change the softness so

inside, outside

I'm going to turn that highlight back on
so I can see what I'm doing.

That looks good to me.

And what I'm going to do
is just turn on automatic key

framing right here,
and I'm going to move this

so that I created a keyframe
and I'm going to go back to the beginning.

I'm going to turn highlight off,

move this to about here, probably.

So we could see we got things moving now.

So probably go about here

now. Looks good

and we'll bring it out of the shot now.

So this will be too dark
in that part of my image.

So now that I've created this window,
let's go into the curves here

and just darken things, make them darker

dope.

I like that.

The vision with this is to go from, like,
dark to this middle ground.

I love this color over here.

And then I want to go
to, like, extra bright over here.

I want things to look super bright.

So what I'm going to do at this point,
I'm going to create a new node.

And this one will be for the highlights.

So with the second node selected over
here, let's create a new window.

Same thing.

We'll create a polygon over here,
move it over this way, grab these points.

Let's, uh,

bring it over here,

and I'm going to feather this out.

Hit shift a so I can see

what's going on here.

I want to feather the inside.

Feather the outside a bit more.

Looks pretty good to me.

I'll probably move it down about here,
and I'm

going to turn on
automatic framing over here.

Just move it a little bit.

We can see
we've added that keyframe over here.

And now I'm going to turn highlight off

and just move this mask or window

to that point over there

to follow the white part of the water
here.

There we go.

It looks pretty good to me.

Let's see if this follows.

Yeah, it's good.

And we'll just want to move this

all the way out here.

Cool.

So now I can go into my node here

and brighten up this area over here.

So let's go on to Curves and let's
bring it up,

make it even brighter.

So that's really good to me.

Just like that,
we've made this a bit more dynamic.

We've added a bit more depth to it
just by framing windows

to brighten
and darken certain parts of our image.
