Deok Heung is the only one who knows I am with High Doctor.

It seems to be the case that he and the Yuan envoy are on the same team.

I mean, what clothes takes this long to...

If the Yuan envoy says he wants to take me then I have to follow him?

Even if I say no?

You still don't know how this world works?

Before this becomes a royal command we have to flee. So let's move quickly, I mean.

That's what I'm saying. You're going to come along with me in my fleeing?

The Woodalchi General?

You leave first.

I'll follow along after greeting His Majesty first.

But would the King approve at a time like this?

I'm not going to seek permission.

Then, you're going to hand in your resignation? Because of me?

Right now, High Doctor is under His Majesty's guardianship so the envoy will ask His Majesty.

And I don't want to see His Majesty having to make such a decision.

First, if His Majesty were to approve, his subject who is me will have to capture you and send you away.

Do you understand it?

For the gist.

What?

I'm apprehensive.

To be apart from you.

So come quickly.

Before troubles are made.

Dae Man.

Yes?

Escort her well.

Yes, Sir.

A letter from the Yuan envoy.

Alright. What does it say?

What's written in it?

He's holding a Dodang Meeting.

Dodang Meeting = Goryeo Parliamentary Meeting.

He's holding it?

He's gathered the important statesmen and is waiting... so if you would come...

My statesmen? The Yuan envoy gathers them to his accord...

and asks me, the King, to come?

He tells me what to do?

Are you heading to see His Majesty?

Yes, I am.

Yes, I am.

Yesterday as well as today, he had been waiting, saying you were not seen.

My apologies.

Is it because the loss of the Woodalchi boys pain you?

It isn't so.

His Majesty said this many times.

"They are subordinates Choi Young most cherished."

"Choi Young must be in such heartache."

He probably would have.

I won't keep you longer. Go on and meet him.

The one who summoned a king of a nation to come...is that you?

I'm Sohn Yu, who has the appointment of Dansaguan post, Your Majesty.

Dansaguan = Yuan authoritative government official.

So then?

What is it you wanted to say?

The Yuan Emperor has said this.

For the last decade and some years, numerous Goryeo kings ascended and descended the throne.

However they were all similarly incompetent.

The Goryeo king can no longer be trusted.

Your Majesty, must you hear such wretched words?

It's not even worth consideration, Your Majesty.

So then?

Your Majesty, is there an instance of you putting the royal seal bestowed by Yuan to disdain and failing to guard the palace properly?

There is. Continue.

That is the justification.

Dethrone the incompetent king.

And denationalize the country and turn it into a fortress of Yuan is the wish.

That's impossible.

Then, you will be fighting against the Yuan military.

Since I have nothing else to do but to sit and hand out my nation, of course I should fight.

In fighting . . . could you win?

There are things in the world that must be fought for even if you cannot win.

Though those are impressive words at a glance,

but what offense is with Your Majesty's citizenry who must go out to the battlefield over those words?

Do not try to slide a point with your wily words.

They are about to lose their nation, so what citizen would be in fear of a war?

This humble subject...

though I am seated in the Yuan government post,

I am a Goryeo person.

So what?

So for the last chance of finding a way for Goryeo to remain an independent nation,

I came running here.

Access is not possible.

Why?

That is the command. Anyone not summoned cannot access here.

In my possession is an imperial letter to enthrone His Highness, Prince Deok Heung as Goryeo King.

However, there is a condition.

He would be Goryeo's last king.

With his hands, he is to abolish Goryeo and remain as the prime minister of the fortress.

If it's my uncle, of course he would have consented.

That is right.

And did you say there is a last resort for this Goryeo to remain?

There is.

First.

Start using the royal seal bestowed by Yuan again.

Second.

Catch the main instigator who has caused Your Majesty's mind to blur.

The main instigator?

The woman called High Doctor.

High Doctor?

The one who not only bewitched Your Majesty but the royalty as well as the chief of your military.

Execute her.

What?

Put her to execution with Your Majesty's own hands.

In doing so, I will report to Yuan.

His Majesty has removed the wily thing that menaced the court and reclaimed his intelligence.

She is a guiltless woman.

She is a woman infamous all the way to Yuan.

It is most suitable.

Commanding General Choi Young begs to see His Majesty.

What is it?

He says he won't meet you.

His Majesty... nothing's happened?

He says he won't meet you.

We've been given instruction to supplement Woodalchi military force to 200 men.

In order to fill that number, we will have to loosen the current qualification requirement.

To be honest, the one who's led the Woodalchi for the past seven years is actually you.

Well, yes in certain ways you could say that.

The Yuan Dansa Officer.

Yes, General.

Put a few boys on him.

To protect him? Or is it to trail?

Nevermind.

His Majesty went to sleep late again yesterday?

Yes, almost until dawn, he was at the documents.

I think Prince Deok Heung is sticking by the Yuan envoy.

Hence...

What should I do?

Guarding...

Extend it?

Don't think after a matter is caused.

Always think before a matter happens.

I understand.

His Majesty is someone who thinks overly much.

When it gets late, do whatever it takes to escort him to the Queen.

Yes, Sir.

And also...

Yes?

Please take good care of him.

Yes, Sir.

What?

This box is my personal belongings.

You mean, to move it somewhere?

You see to it.

Dispose of it.

Dispose of it, what?

So then, since I was 9 or 10, I began to live alone.

By yourself? In the mountain? Can such a young kid survive alone?

I did survive.

Oh my world! So then?

And then, when I was 13 or 14... I met General then.

What a relief!

It's not a relief.

When I met him, I bit him a lot.

And I bit him in the hands and in the legs.

Why?

And when I ran away, he chased after me again and when I got caught, I bit him again.

So that went on for 5 days and 5 nights? Like that.

So then I got tired and slept.

When I woke up, General had grilled fish for me.

That's when you guys started to be close.

Yes.

What?

His footsteps are soundless.

I don't want to fight against people like him.

Why in the world is His Majesty refusing to see me?

If he did meet you?

I'll tell him I'll be leaving the palace for a while.

And if he won't grant permission...

And if he won't grant permission...

He says he approves.

He approves,

so hurry and leave, he says.

Tell him to hurry and escort High Doctor and flee to somewhere far.

Without turning back.

Give my greetings to High Doctor as well.

Publicly, His Majesty has consented to handing out High Doctor.

Hence, before you could come to learn of the intent of His Majesty, you have already left is what needs to happen.

So that you don't become a punk who's defied the Royal command.

Why in the world is Yuan wanting High Doctor?

What could that person do in Yuan nation?

Let me ask you one thing.

You're about to escort High Doctor towards the place the heaven door is, right?

It's true.

You remain,

and get the Suribang kids to escort her instead. Wouldn't that do?

Now until the next full moon,

only 20 days are left.

But to give all that up,

and part here?

Everything you fought for until now,

you could end up exchanging it for that 20 days.

If you leave now, it's possible that you may never be able to return.

Aunt.

What?

The past seven years,

I've lived in the palace.

But those seven years, no matter how hard I think, I can't really remember anything.

There isn't much to exchange, I mean.

I'm leaving.

Don't get caught.

It's not to take to Yuan nation.

What that Dansa Officer wants...

is to publicly execute the High Doctor.

And without High Doctor?

What will His Majesty end up suffering?

According to that Dansa Officer...

No.

Don't tell me.

Regardless, I...

I can't stay.

And once I leave like this,

I won't have the qualification to return again.

A punk like me, the happenings of His Majesty...

why would I need to know?

What does he say?

Did he consent to it all, my nephew?

Yes, he consented to it all.

He says he will execute High Doctor and use the royal seal from Yuan?

He did say so.

Though I find that impossible.

To my horseman,

you sent an errand?

Though I heard you sent a letter to that woman called High Doctor...

I did send it.

I did send it.

Was it to tell her to flee?

So that His Majesty, even if he wanted to execute her, he couldn't find her?

Don't be like that.

She's the woman who was affianced to me.

I couldn't bare to watch her executed.

The one who left with that woman is called Choi Young, was it?

Was that also intentional,

your pulling him away from the King?

He's a useless man.

Dae Man.

Be careful of yourselves.

We're going.

Alright. Careful.

The Commanding General who is the King's captain of the garrison...

seeing how he regards his death and leaving of his subordinates so lightly...

our King...

he at best was depending on a man like him?

Hence, put the imperial letter to work now and end it.

This King...

from what I saw, he's ready to go to war if you demand him by force.

That courage, that brain, that talent... he doesn't have it.

I know it.

I am a bureaucrat.

To complete my mission paying the least price for the most efficiency...

that is my duty.

The mission I have upon me this time is to make the least sacrifice as possible,

to make Goryeo a Yuan administration.

If Your Highness Prince Deok Heung is needed,

I will see to it myself to make the proper requests.

The size is the same and no blisters yet.

No fever either and no other symptoms.

So don't worry, I mean.

Once you get to the heaven world, you can detox it right away, you said, right?

Of course.

One exam and one shot and will do.

I'll trust you.

What are you doing?

Here.

Walking... you can't really do it, right?

I've lived life riding in things.

After coming to this world, I seriously walked a lot, for real.

Was there anything that you liked too? Coming here?

Let's see...

There isn't?

Not even one?

Right. There is.

What is it?

Do it again.

What?

That. "What is it?"

"What's this"... "What are you doing?"

I will install a Byeongryangdogam (army food supply agency).

Contact each provincial precinct and gather the available army food provision from each.

And also,

I appoint Ahn Jae from Commanding General to Dosun Commander.

He is to hold power to command-march all armies.

Lock in for combat readiness as soon as possible.

Your Majesty.

What?

I beg to inform...

The Yanggye and Ahnju commands

recommend Commanding General Choi Young.

Choi Young is the one, during the last war,

who commanded the royal forces of Ahnju.

In battles large and small,

he has not once lost.

The royal armies from that region would follow his command no matter what.

The commanding power,

is for you to take on.

Ahn Jae with the Commanding General ranking.

Yes, I receive.

Is there any more Yuan domestic intelligence?

The rebellion by the red turbans is coming into full swing,

however, Your Majesty,

do you really intend to wage in war?

First, your subject will cross to Yuan and meet people.

The first goal is to make it so that they cannot wage a war so easily.

If it's our land they want,

they will have to put down their blood first.

I want to show them that.

What is your thought on it, General?

On the run, did you say?

Surely.

My betrothed and the one who stole my betrothed are headed towards the village by the northern border.

Why is my High Doctor with that man?

I just found that out as well.

I thought you might want to know, Prince of the Court.

Hence, I came all the way here myself. You take High Doctor...

and I'll receive that Royal Seal in your possession.

How did you just find that out?

Unless Your Highness handed High Doctor out,

how...

how is High Doctor, who was supposed to be locked in the palace, with that man?

My house...

High Doctor who should be here with me!

Look here, wait a minute.

I came because I have some words to tell you.

That High Doctor... I have a secret plan that can bring that High Doctor back.

The likes of secret plans from you bastard...

now they disgust me.

Hurry and move him.

Don't put your hand on him.

He's experiencing a counter-current.

Do something!

But I must go.

To find High Doctor, I...

We'll find her and bring her to you.

Yang Sa.

Yes, Sir.

Roll out everything and everyone.

Tell all the assassin bands,

the one who brings High Doctor alive,

gets a thousand nyang.

In order to do so,

the one by her,

that Choi Young will have to be killed.

There is no time.

Time...

Let's go.

Two plates of something that'll appease hunger.

Yes.

Let's have a drink too.

Over here.

That's alcohol, right?

A bottle of that for us too.

There's a bar that looks a lot like this place.

The makgeolli taste there is to die for!

Let's eat.

Here.

General, cheers.

You're not going to drink?

Now that I think about it, this is our first time drinking together.

Right?

Right.

You don't like alcohol?

Not particularly.

Why not?

Imja...

When I say "now" you bolt face down immediately.

Face down?

Now.

Are you alright?

This... is that us?

Is this like a wanted ad?

This is our appearance poster.

Imja's price is rather high.

I look like this?

That's too much.

A reward this high is being wagered, so our path will become very difficult from now on.

Hence...

Do I look like that?

Does it look like him?

I was about to come soon.

It's true.

I was about to get up just now.

Now tell me.

What is today's problem?

Today's...

Day by day a new problem arises, doesn't it?

I can't listen to all of it together.

So I will just listen to today's problem.

I'll listen,

and agonize over it together.

And spend the night together is why I came.

This is today's problem.

In order to maintain Goryeo's independence...

show them something.

Use the son-in-law seal from Yuan and execute High Doctor.

However, to me now, I have no High Doctor,

nor the son-in-law seal.

Then they will bring the army here, they said?

Unless I were to hand them this nation,

and step back as the governor of the fortress,

that is plausible.

Then, will you fight them?

That is what I don't know.

Because I don't know it, I can't sleep.

Wife...

Yes, Your Majesty.

If by chance, I...

if I were a citizen of this nation,

who's been given the command to come and fight in the war, what would you do?

If Queen, you were the wife of me who is such a man, what would you do?

I would...

If it were me . ..

Wife.

What's wrong?

Wife.

Look here! Anyone outside?

Wife!

Queen is ill.

What's with this person?

Wife.

Wife.

Do Chi. That person... my Queen!

Though it is still too early, there is a small bloody discharge... and I have an accurate diagnosis.

Her Highness the Queen is showing signs of pregnancy.

Congratulations, Your Majesty.

However, her myeongmoon pulse is weak, hence she needs to be on caution.

Of course. We'll do that.

May I see her?

Of course, Your Majesty.

Congratulations, Your Majesty.

Are you alright?

Yes.

Pain anywhere?

There isn't.

How I ended up... how I was able to meet someone like you...

My Queen.

Thank you.

I thank you, truly.

I thought there might be ones targeting the night.

You can just go in and sleep.

And not worry.

What?

Over there. That's the direction of the palace, right?

Last night I saw too, before I went to sleep, that you were just glancing in that direction.

Go in and sleep. You're barely keeping your eyes open.

You're worried, right? Your King... Go in and sleep. You're barely keeping your eyes open.

You're worried, right? Your King...

Then let's do this.

The village that I first arrived in.

The place where the heaven door is.

Just take me there and go back.

I'm taking it easy on you. No big deal.

I can't return.

Why not?

As a Woodalchi general, I couldn't withstand a Woodalchi like me so I cast him out.

What kind of a Woodalchi?

If a warrior hesitates in using the sword, he'll die.

A warrior who now hesitates...

can't safeguard His Majesty.

Even just for a day in your life, instead of what others say to do, what they ask you to do for them...

have you ever spent a day doing what you wanted to do?

Yesterday and... today.

Go.

These men have to see blood this time so stay here.

That royalty called Deok Heung and the Yuan envoy...

they're on the same side, I mean.

I'll tell you where that Deok Heung lives right now.

That's that Youngbinguan (envoy reception hall).

But he was going to Jo Dong Man's house today.

And yesterday was Man Jo house.

You know that Yang Sa from Prince of the Court from Deok Seong's house?

He was buying up a ton of herbal medicines again today.

What are those herbal medicines for?

Of course I wouldn't know.

Hey, how is that no matter what we tell you to do, you only get half of it done?

And now he's staying with the Yuan officer?

Yes, he is.

They have a room out for Prince Deok Heung at the reception house altogether.

So he knew in advance.

What?

That Dansa Officer. He already knew that I didn't have the royal seal nor High Doctor.

He knew but he named those two as conditions to me.

Do Chi.

Yes, Your Majesty.

Find out what Suribang needs and reward them plenty.

Yes, I will do so.

Vice General.

Yes.

Relay to Suribang.

That I must find out the nature of Prince Deok Heung and Prince of the Court's current relationship.

If it's gone awry, then I'd like know the reason as well.

I understand.

So you came to verify, I'm told?

It's been a day since you were told the method.

Your Majesty. The procedure is simple.

You just need to acknowledge a royal decree of executing High Doctor with the son-in-law seal.

And have it carried out.

And with that I intend to appeal with the Yuan Emperor.

Ask him to let the Goryeo nation be for now.

Why do you use such a murky tactic?

A murky tactic?

Aren't you here to abolish this Goryeo nation anyway?

That is the mission entrusted me, yes.

Then just carry out the mission frankly.

Royal seal or High Doctor... without those remnants.

In doing so, I will drum up all my strength to fight as well.

Whether that seat is to be the seat of Goryeo King or the governor of an administration, there are two candidates.

The one in front of me, in order to safeguard the name Goryeo...

says he will go to war even.

And the other values his own safety over else in the world.

So you're in the midst of choosing between the two?

Was that also a mission you received from Yuan?

That is the mission of one who is seated in a position to choose the king.

That is my thought.

Then what should we do?

Dansa Officer, in order to please you, shall I dance?

The Royal Seal and High Doctor. I said two items.

If you are yet to be prepared, I will come back tomorrow.

Then...

I can't wait more than 3 days.

We're going to need that woman called High Doctor.

So that the King's decision will be easier.

Find High Doctor and bring her to me.

And dispose of the man beside her.

Though I heard the man's skills are high as a warrior.

Since he has a woman next to him, he couldn't use half of his skills.

Someone like you should do without much trouble.

It's from Dansa Officer.

I was told to give to Your Highness the Queen in person.

Why doesn't this make sense?

Me, on how to ride a horse and how to use a dagger, I've been learning from you.

So I'm saying I'm going to teach you something in return of the favor.

Nevermind.

Stand still a bit.

The name of this is "heaven's spell"...

A magical spell widely used in heaven.

First, learn it well, and General, you use it.

And teach to the Woodalchi subordinates well too.

The introduction is too long.

Fine then. Make a fist like this.

Try it.

Aja!

Ack, I feel low and I have no energy, and shit, I'm just going to sleep.

When you feel like that, you go like this, Aja!

Try it! AJA!

Is it really so hard? It's only two syllables!

Hey, Sir General.

Please stand still a bit.

Please stand still a bit.

When you make a promise, people in this neighborhood only do it with words.

Goryeo Warrior, giving my life as the price of my oath.

From now on, don't just say it in words, and you stamp.

Like this.

Here, you promise like this.

And you stamp it like this.

Then that's a promise. But if this seems lacking still,

like this, you copy.

If you promise like that, you needn't wager your life.

I understand.

One more. "High Five."

Please try it once. Look how I'm asking so pitifully.

This, you don't need any words. You just give and take from heart to heart.

"Look here, cheer up, let's do well."

Make sure you try it with the King too.

What are you thinking?

What is this person thinking right now?

Don't follow from behind and go in front of me like this so I can protect you with ease.

I've got another thing to teach you.

That's enough.

Just one more. That's enough now.

Are those people trying to catch us?

No, they're provincial soldiers. Looking at their attire and weapons,

they are newly recruited armymen, it seems.

Go and find out. I'll go wait at the oriental medicine shop.

Why?

Are you ill somewhere?

I need some backup herbal medicines. Come get me there, okay?

Hello?

I came because I need some bee hine. Do you have it?

Wait a minute, please.

His congenital fever, as the toxin from his blood comes out, it gets itchy, hence...

It looks like atopy.

Is there an army draft?

It says the country is taking in men who can be soldiers.

This... you need to be quick.

Last time, after the royal pardon, a ton of slaves were set loose.

Those slaves are all gathering you know.

Yup. They give you clothes and give you food. And even knives.

Now they're not slaves anymore. They're soldiers! Soldiers who're protecting the country!

Is there something happening at the border region?

If you're here to be drafted, then go wait in line there.

Where's your superior?

What?

Where's your superior, I said!

Why this rascal... just where do you think you're making mayhem?

What's this?

I think it's flying insect poison. Can you tell?

There is no antidote to flying insect poison.

Indeed there wasn't. That jerk!

Just wait till I see him again.

However, with acupuncture needle treatment, the pain can be much subsided.

There's acupuncture that can reduce pain?

Yes, it's possible.

Could I learn that?

There's someone I don't want my aching image be shown to.

Yes, since you're pretty, I will teach you.

Lee Bang! I have my stamp on that chick.

What?

What, what?

Wife, I will do it. Please just sit.

What?

Nothing.

I'll be right back.

I am going because it seems they need me there to resolve the matter. I'll be right back.

I am going because it seems they need me there to resolve the matter.

Take your time and see to it slowly.

Why? Why slowly?

I'm arranged to visit Bojae Temple.

I wish to go there and pray for Your Majesty and the child's safety.

Then, shall I go straight there after my business?

Bojae Temple?

I'll go alone.

Wouldn't praying together be more effective?

Your Majesty, please tend to your work first. Others will sneer.

Then we'll do that.

For you to come all the way to this humble place, it's an honor.

There are words that you are ill somewhere. Are you alright?

What strange rumor. I'm fine.

I'm healthy, thanks to Your Royal Grace.

Please sit.

I was startled that you came here in person.

To my house where hundreds of my private soldiers are.

Since we have something to give and take with each other.

Is there something you wish to have from among my possessions?

The son-in-law state seal. Is it with you, Prince of the Court?

The royal decree of the proxy king by my uncle last time.

I heard it was brought by you, Prince of the Court.

With the son-in-law state seal stamped.

Why this is...

I can't really acknowledge or deny.

Will you give it to me?

The King went to Prince of the Court's house?

Right about now, they should be meeting.

It's the Royal Seal then.

He went to get the Royal Seal.

However, would he meekly give it to him? Prince of the Court?

He would hand it to him.

He's one who's going halfway mad.

There's only one in his sight and he won't care about the likes of a royal seal.

If I give it to you, what can I gain?

Would setting your feet loose do? I heard there's a place you direly wanted to go.

However being locked up like this wouldn't...

I'll give it you.

Yang Sa.

Where did you put it? The Royal Seal.

Hurry and bring it to him. Hurry.

Yes.

Your Majesty.

Yes?

Please don't sneer.

I'm sorry.

There isn't anything your subject's never had.

I've had whatever I wanted.

If your subject wanted to, I could've become king too.

The royal line surnamed Gi... how would that be difficult?

You would have.

However, always, there's been a dark hole on one side of my heart.

This wouldn't fill up.

And then I met that person from heaven.

From not of this land but of another world.

Whether that is paradise or hell, I don't care.

I must go.

If you get to go?

Do you think that hole of your heart would fill up?

Couldn't it?

People always ask too much of me.

When my wish is to simply live life reading books.

They won't leave me be.

What?

Though I did not want to go this far,

people keep pushing me to it so what can I do?

The wind is cold today.

If you can help it, you should go on a different day, why do you insist so?

My heart won't be still.

I feel like I need to do something. Or my mind keeps on fretting anxiously.

I understand.

I'll escort you so you can make a quick trip.

However, for just in case, I'll have Royal Doctor Jang come along as well.

Court Lady Choi.

Yes, Your Highness.

I'd like to go quietly in small group.

From now on, don't let anyone come in here.

Including the monks, only allow those we know.

Yes, Ma'am.

Could it be a princess or a prince?

With both being so handsome and pretty,

how beautiful would that Baby Highness be.

Your Highness!

Your Highness!

I came after receiving the letter from the Dansa Officer.

I am...

Emperor Wui's daughter Botap Shilri. The one who claims to have my mother's message. Where are you?

Stay here without making a stir.

I don't even want to make a stir.

Subtitles brought to you by The Faith Team @ viki.com

Imja.

What's wrong?

Look here. What's happened?

Did someone come by?

No.

But why is your face like that?

Are you ill somewhere?

Just... please hug me.

What exactly has happened?

In the same hour,

looking at the smiling you,

now I only have you in my eyes.

Like fate,

a day passes by,

while it feels a thousand years has passed.

The one who will come to read these words hidden here would be most likely you, Eun Soo.

That you're reading these words right now would mean you are with that person right now.

That day...

remember every moment of it.

The honest gaze of that person looking at me.

His warm heart.

Yes, Eun Soo, I am the future you.

From the moment I breathe,
