In this video you will learn how to give a specific name to a cell or a cell range.

As discussed earlier Excel stores data in rows and columns the columns are named alphabetically while

the rows are named as numbers.

These are called row and column identifiers the intersection of rows and columns is called a sin.

The rows and columns together form a tabular structure.

The rows and columns hold a series of data a cell holds individual data in the cities.

Each cell in an Excel spreadsheet is referenced by a name.

As we discussed earlier the cell limb consists of two parts.

The first part is the column identifier and the second part is the raw identifier.

For example this is cell 313 a group of cells is called cell range.

You can also name a cell or a cell range by giving it a specific name.

To do so select the cell or cell range you want to read the click in the Name Box at the left end of

the formula but type the name you want.

You need to be aware of the syntax rules when you create and edit needs.

The first character often name must be a letter and underscore character or a backslash.

Remaining characters in the name can be letters numbers beaded and underscore characters spaces are

not allowed as part of funny.

You can use the underscore character and the PD ID as word separate this such as first on the school

cuarto or for speeded Gordo but not forced.

Space quantum a name can contain up to two hundred and fifty five characters names are not case sensitive.

Excel does not distinguish between uppercase and lowercase characters in names.
