These are the user uploaded subtitles that are being translated: 00:00:14:21 - 00:00:15:09 Have you ever 00:00:15:09 - 00:00:15:23 wanted to maybe 00:00:15:23 - 00:00:21:02 add some text in a clip of yours that we'll be tracking maybe your finger 00:00:21:04 - 00:00:24:15 or maybe you see a billboard that needs to be replaced with an image 00:00:24:15 - 00:00:26:06 or even a video. 00:00:26:06 - 00:00:28:18 Maybe you have a scene where a car is driving by 00:00:28:18 - 00:00:32:01 or a car is in your shot and you need to blur the license plate. 00:00:32:03 - 00:00:32:23 Well, today I'm going to show you 00:00:32:23 - 00:00:35:23 how to do all of those things Inside DaVinci Resolve. 00:00:35:23 - 00:00:39:12 And I show you some of my own personal motion tracking techniques 00:00:39:14 - 00:00:43:05 so you guys can accomplish all of the above. 00:00:43:06 - 00:00:45:15 My name's Jamie Fan. I love making videos. 00:00:45:15 - 00:00:46:14 I make tutorials on cool 00:00:46:14 - 00:00:50:16 transitions, visual effects, and today we're going to cover motion tracking 00:00:50:16 - 00:00:57:04 and attaching objects to the ground walls and even moving objects. 00:00:57:06 - 00:00:58:22 Let's jump into DaVinci Resolve 00:00:58:22 - 00:01:14:06 and get the ball rolling 00:01:14:08 - 00:01:22:20 and drag 00:01:22:23 - 00:01:26:20 in a clip that you want to apply the motion tracking to. 00:01:26:22 - 00:01:29:08 I'm going to come down here and click on the clip. 00:01:29:08 - 00:01:33:06 I'm going to right click and start a new fusion clip. 00:01:33:07 - 00:01:35:15 I'm going to bring the cursor back over here. 00:01:35:15 - 00:01:38:15 I'm going to go into Fusion. 00:01:38:21 - 00:01:42:00 The first thing I'm going to do is apply some tracking 00:01:42:00 - 00:01:47:16 to some area over to the left where I am pointing with my left hand. 00:01:47:18 - 00:01:51:00 I'm going to come over here and click on median one. 00:01:51:02 - 00:01:55:18 I'm going to hold down, shift spacebar and type in planar tracker. 00:01:55:20 - 00:02:00:11 I'm going to select planar tracker and it should automatically default 00:02:00:12 - 00:02:04:15 land and connect between the in and outputs. 00:02:04:17 - 00:02:05:18 So the first thing I want to do 00:02:05:18 - 00:02:10:06 is find where I want to start tracking some point. 00:02:10:08 - 00:02:13:04 And in this specific scene I'm going to use 00:02:13:04 - 00:02:16:04 the perspective motion type. 00:02:16:10 - 00:02:20:19 And so I'm going to just do what I did kind of in the beginning of this video, 00:02:20:23 - 00:02:26:04 and I'm going to select these points right here. 00:02:26:06 - 00:02:28:01 It doesn't necessarily have to be a square. 00:02:28:01 - 00:02:28:23 It could be a triangle. 00:02:28:23 - 00:02:32:13 You could do a specific portion of the scene. 00:02:32:18 - 00:02:35:00 But for right now, I'm just going to select a square. 00:02:35:00 - 00:02:40:08 You can even drag and move these points and modify them once you click on them. 00:02:40:10 - 00:02:42:15 And so usually anything that has a good contrast 00:02:42:15 - 00:02:45:11 will have some good tracking data. 00:02:45:11 - 00:02:49:16 I'm going to start tracking actually 00:02:49:18 - 00:02:52:07 right before I point at this area, 00:02:52:07 - 00:02:56:00 I'm going to highlight these points and just kind of move this over 00:02:56:02 - 00:02:58:01 and and see what happens. 00:02:58:01 - 00:02:59:15 Okay. 00:02:59:15 - 00:03:02:08 I'm going to set 00:03:02:08 - 00:03:04:06 the tracking 00:03:04:06 - 00:03:06:08 frame and tracking time 00:03:06:08 - 00:03:09:08 in this clip right there. 00:03:09:12 - 00:03:12:02 I'm going to select Hybrid Point area. 00:03:12:02 - 00:03:14:11 Like I said, I'm going to leave this on perspective. 00:03:14:11 - 00:03:16:10 If you actually come and click on this 00:03:16:10 - 00:03:19:21 button right here, it will track forward and I'm going to track forward 00:03:19:21 - 00:03:24:04 until basically I'm happy with it and then I'll push stop. 00:03:24:09 - 00:03:27:09 So I'm going to go ahead and do that. 00:03:27:15 - 00:03:31:06 And as you can see, the tracking is doing really well. 00:03:31:07 - 00:03:35:10 My computer's doing pretty well considering that I'm screen recording. 00:03:35:12 - 00:03:39:16 And so now pretty much that will be out of the scene. 00:03:39:16 - 00:03:41:08 I'm just going to push stop here. 00:03:41:08 - 00:03:44:08 And as you can see, between these points that I selected, 00:03:44:08 - 00:03:49:06 there are a ton of tracking data points that Da Vinci recorded. 00:03:49:09 - 00:03:52:00 Now I'm going to bring in something just like the Instagram logo. 00:03:52:00 - 00:03:53:23 Okay? I'm going to drag and drop it into here. 00:03:53:23 - 00:03:56:08 You can either have it in your media pool already 00:03:56:08 - 00:03:59:22 or you can have it like in your downloads folder, maybe on your desktop. 00:04:00:00 - 00:04:03:08 Drag it in here. I'm just going to rename it real quick, 00:04:03:10 - 00:04:05:13 but IG logo. 00:04:05:13 - 00:04:07:03 So then it's going to come down here. 00:04:07:03 - 00:04:09:02 I'm going to click on the tracker. 00:04:09:02 - 00:04:13:04 I'm going to go to the beginning of the scene where I want the logo to be 00:04:13:09 - 00:04:15:02 and I'm actually going to come up here 00:04:15:02 - 00:04:18:19 instead of operation mode, I'm going to click Corner PIN. 00:04:18:21 - 00:04:22:04 And what this does by default is it gives you 00:04:22:06 - 00:04:25:09 a square box to corner pin something, for example, 00:04:25:09 - 00:04:29:06 like a cell phone screen or in this case, a wall. 00:04:29:08 - 00:04:32:08 So I'm going to come in here and select 00:04:32:10 - 00:04:36:21 a proportionate sized rectangle. 00:04:36:23 - 00:04:39:19 And what's nice about these brick walls right here 00:04:39:19 - 00:04:44:08 is that if you zoom in, you can kind of get like an accurate line 00:04:44:10 - 00:04:49:06 with the way the grid of the bricks has been built into the wall. 00:04:49:08 - 00:04:52:02 And so I'm going to just click here. 00:04:52:02 - 00:04:54:10 Let's see, maybe 00:04:54:10 - 00:04:56:11 I mean, that should be good for the time being. 00:04:56:11 - 00:05:00:02 Okay, then I'm going to drag the IgG logo 00:05:00:02 - 00:05:03:17 on top. 00:05:03:19 - 00:05:07:15 And now, as you can see, 00:05:07:17 - 00:05:11:11 where the tracking down a point start, which if you click on the tracking node, 00:05:11:11 - 00:05:17:04 you can see what the data points that have been created 00:05:17:06 - 00:05:20:16 and now the logo is on the wall 00:05:20:18 - 00:05:23:18 and it will stay corner pinned 00:05:23:20 - 00:05:28:05 to the specific points right here that you selected. 00:05:28:06 - 00:05:29:11 Isn't it Pretty cool. 00:05:29:11 - 00:05:30:07 Okay. 00:05:30:07 - 00:05:33:17 Just a real quick thing, just to make this look a little bit more realistic, I'm 00:05:33:17 - 00:05:38:14 going to come in here and add a drop shadow. 00:05:38:16 - 00:05:40:01 You can actually change 00:05:40:01 - 00:05:43:02 the direction of the angle 00:05:43:02 - 00:05:48:00 and how much it is affected and the light is actually coming from behind me. 00:05:48:02 - 00:05:52:00 I kind of want to maybe put it like that 00:05:52:01 - 00:05:56:23 just to kind of match the other shadows in the scene 00:05:57:01 - 00:06:01:03 and you can increase the shadow strength, the drop distance, how far it is. 00:06:01:03 - 00:06:03:23 You can make it really look like it's far away from the wall 00:06:03:23 - 00:06:08:12 for the beginning of this tutorial, I kind of have like a automated pop up 00:06:08:14 - 00:06:12:03 type of effect when I point 00:06:12:05 - 00:06:15:02 and the way I did that is I actually came in here 00:06:15:02 - 00:06:17:21 and I clicked on 00:06:17:21 - 00:06:20:18 either IgG logo or Drop Shadow, but I'm going to click on the Drop Shadow 00:06:20:18 - 00:06:23:18 Hold Shift spacebar type in Transform. 00:06:23:20 - 00:06:27:12 And with this transform node, you can adjust 00:06:27:14 - 00:06:29:16 the size, the aspect. 00:06:29:16 - 00:06:32:08 And so what I actually did is I went to the point 00:06:32:08 - 00:06:35:23 right where I pointed and that's full size. 00:06:36:01 - 00:06:40:10 I'm going to keyframe and then go backwards 00:06:40:12 - 00:06:41:14 and keyframe 00:06:41:14 - 00:06:45:18 again and select zero. 00:06:45:20 - 00:06:48:20 So that way when I point it pops up, 00:06:49:01 - 00:06:50:01 boop. 00:06:50:01 - 00:06:52:06 There you go. 00:06:52:06 - 00:06:53:17 So now you can see 00:06:53:17 - 00:06:56:23 in real time that my computer is actually handling this pretty well. 00:06:56:23 - 00:06:58:16 I'm on a MacBook Pro. 00:06:58:16 - 00:07:01:05 This is all back in real time. 00:07:01:05 - 00:07:04:14 One more time. 00:07:04:16 - 00:07:07:16 And it looks like I just, you know, make something appear on the wall 00:07:07:18 - 00:07:10:17 Instead of dragging in the logo that I dragged 00:07:10:17 - 00:07:16:07 in, you could drag in a photo, you could drag in a video, 00:07:16:09 - 00:07:19:23 you could drag in pretty much anything, a 3D object, 00:07:20:01 - 00:07:23:19 and basically just apply the same technique 00:07:23:21 - 00:07:26:10 to what I just showed you to any one of your clips, 00:07:26:10 - 00:07:29:10 any one of your videos, and you can achieve the same effect. 00:07:29:13 - 00:07:31:14 Now when you do the tracking, 00:07:31:14 - 00:07:34:22 there are different options here for motion types and you're going 00:07:34:22 - 00:07:38:19 to want to select the best one for the scene that you're trying to track. 00:07:38:21 - 00:07:42:02 If you guys like these kinds of videos, please like and subscribe. 00:07:42:04 - 00:07:45:16 Comment below What you think and 00:07:45:18 - 00:07:46:09 see the next one. 10327
