the temperature in the OR

until our fingers
were getting numb.

While we worked to relieve
the cerebral hemorrhage,

Michael administered
his cryogenic therapy.

A cooling agent to further
retard the body's metabolism

combined with
powerful antitoxins

to ward off cellular damage.

I've never been more proud
of my team.

We knew we would be
on the threshold

of a whole new era
in medical science

if Michael's theories
were successful,

if Jaime came back to life.

And now we were ready

for the final test.

major brain damage but

When she regained consciousness
two days ago we found that

her motor functions
were intact as well as...

Broca's Area 44, the frontal
lobes.

The language center.

But now
the electro-metabolic printout

shows that there was
some cellular damage

to the temporal lobes

which store and control
the bulk of her past memory.

Is it all gone?

Clean slate.

Whatever memory she has now
began two days ago

when she awakened
to find Michael with her.

We planned to keep
Michael's surgery a secret

as long as Jaime was in a coma

to spare you losing her again.

We'd hope to bring

is we're just not certain.

still a remote possibility

that some fragments
of her memory

may be stored in cells
adjacent to the damaged area.

But the odds are against it.

It may take a great
deal of time to show up,

if it happens at all.

to stimulate her memory?

Perhaps so, a little
further down the line.

We can't do too much too soon.

There's a certain amount
of danger involved.

I feel if we attempt
to stimulate Jaime's memory

of the past, we may
re-stimulate the sensations

of pain she felt from
the hemorrhage that killed her.

That almost killed her.

could be severely traumatized

if we try to stimulate
her memory too much.

Steve's relationship with Jaime?
