We have a big master bath
and connecting closets,

so I couldn't see everything.

Plus the steam.
The room was full of steam.

[Sighs] I thought, "It's my imagination."

So I went back to washing my hair.

[Object Thuds]
Then I heard something hit the floor.

Somebody was there.

I called out, "Joel?"
[No Audible Dialogue]

But there was no answer.
So I turned the water off.

I heard nothing.

I looked out again. Nothing.

I thought again it had
to be my imagination.

So I turned the water back on
and started rinsing my hair.

And then I saw the curtain move.

-And suddenly the curtain was pulled back.
-[Screaming]

[Screaming]

[Clears Throat] Uh, sorry.

There was somebody in a hood--
a mask-- with a knife.

He reared back, as if to stab me.

And then he stopped and ran away.

And what happened next? I jumped out.

I screamed for my husband.

I threw my robe on,
called 911 on the phone.

I told the police there was an intruder.

Then I went looking for my husband,

and I discovered him in the bedroom.

There was blood everywhere. He was--

Mrs. Schofield, did you see or hear
anything else that night?

Yes. I heard somebody running down
the stairs, and I heard clapping.
