All language subtitles for Canceling the night shoot

our second day of production on the assurance was

really long and really cold

at the end of that day

we had a night shoot

and nice shoots are always rough anyway

see me setting up all the lighting that you need

is already tough

but add to that how tired and cold everyone was

it makes for difficult shoot

after getting a few shots

I realized that we wouldn't be able to get

the performances we needed from our talent

it was just too late and too cold

for our poor actresses

they had a huge day

and we then well rested for the next day

so I talked to Gavin

our first ad about it

we decided right then

it would just be best to call it a night

and shoot the scene on a different day

Gavin can I talk to you for a second please

I'm thinking that we're going to need to

rent this location again in a couple months

when it's warm

and get a skeleton crew and come back and do it again

because this is just absolutely

you know what

you know what

I'm on your side

we went through all this effort

let's not have it

yeah we can do it with a skeleton crew

yeah I think so

I think that's a great idea

yeah I hate that you have to do it

I hate that I have to do it too

I hate it every time I've done something like this

by postponed and made decisions of good enough

it's because I'll go back

and I'll be like oh my gosh

here's a way better way to do it

or here's like saying

if you look at the positive of it

it's that we could still come back

for an eight hour day

come early enough to pick up

whatever you think we need to pick up right

and get that spend

start this shot at 8 p m

totally get it yeah

and as is the standard

Gavin as first ad

made the announcement to the crew

hey guys gals

we're we we

we just made an executive decision

we're gonna

we're gonna wrap for tonight

and we're going to um

come back tomorrow 9:30

we're not gonna film this tomorrow night

we're gonna find another time to do this

so we can do it right

you guys are available

obviously we want you to be involved

because you guys have kicked butt today

and you've been here all night

we wanna do it right

we don't wanna have butted

um so we'll still come in tomorrow at 9:30

we'll hit it hard

we want everyone to drive home safely

and um we just

we don't have the time to set up all the shots

we need to get it

so thanks for your time and effort

absolutely we'll do it again tomorrow

we're gonna keep this going

but we just spent this much effort

let's do it right

there's an interesting lesson here I think

and we'll see more of this later on this chapter

I don't think there's a benefit to capturing footage

that you know is going to be unusable

yes it was a little embarrassing to reset and yes

it was a little scary

because we just assumed

that we could secure the location

and actress Eva Jane again

and enough crew to light this dark space

but once I realized that what we were filming

was not ever going to be in the film

what's the point of continuing on

there was nothing else we could have shot that night

so after conferring with Gavin

making sure I wasn't crazy or missing something

we called it

and the next movie

we'll look at the results of this choice

and the many reasons it was the right decision for us
