All language subtitles for 3. How I Edit Footage with Different Resolutions (4K Drone vs. 1080p GoPro)

Everybody will come back bright again brand new to not TV.

Now this is important because this happened to me when I first started where I used to shoot and I still

do this every now and again where I'm shooting with like a go pro and a drone and a smartphone.

And so the smartphone is set to film at 10 80 pay and then the drone might be set at you know four k.

And so I was like well what do I do.

Like I've got four K for footage from my drone and I've got like you know 10 ITP from my go prime and

I'll show you exactly what to do in premi a prairie just to save your life because it would save my

life or I figured it out so that you can you know make sure that you project your videos do looks good

even if you're shooting at different resolutions or mixed resolution so I'll show it to me.

So if we go over here we've got a little videos from GoPro.

This is in the sample footage that I've supplied in the course.

Right.

And if I go to list view down here it shows me the same videos in the same files.

We can now sequence video sequence clips via double click here double click they all see them show up

on the right hand side.

But I care about the two at the top.

The two GoPro clips if I have a look here I got 50 frames a second.

We at media start media and media gyration blah blah blah.

If we scroll across then you can see we keep scrolling.

It says here 10:30 right here.

Not only potentially for both of those.

Right.

So the video resolution is not in 2010.

However if I go to my do my drone clips here and clips that down click on this arrow for drone I got

my drawing clips here.

If I scroll across video in phone you can see that I've got one drone clip at 19:20 by 10:30 right.

And I've got the other three drone clips at thirty three a 40 by 21 60.

So these three were shot for OK.

This a shot at 10 A.D..

What do I do.

So this is what you don't.

Right.

If I just delete if I just remove these two sequences from the tabs up here.

It just doesn't look so confusing.

I'm like great.

I just want to create a drone video on its own.

All right.

I'm only got these four videos here.

And I just want to create a nice little drone video.

What do I do.

Do I create a sequence file that is for K or an upscale.

This clip here from 10:30 to 4 K.

Or do I create a sequence file at 10 A.D. and I down scale these three clips down to 290.

Well what I would do is I create a sequence file at 4 K because I have more for k footage and they're

not upscale this clip here from 10:30 to 4 k now is going to look as nice because it's like you know

10 versus 21:16.

However if I got more Fuquay than 10 80 that I'm going to create a sequence around this for each here

right click new sequence from clip.

Watch this.

So now we've got a sequence that's created this is the name of their sequence I want to call it drone

vlog 0 1 right.

Just for the purposes of this video this is the name of the sequence drone vog 0 1.

We've got a four K sequence created.

Watch what happens when I double click on this clip with the other drone clip which is shot at 10 A.D.

and in my source monitor box I scroll through.

Yeah it's pretty amazing this is Snake Island too in the Philippines.

Pretty amazing place.

I'm like see the changes with that change.

I want it where the cameras start in a pan down that looks much nicer.

Some like scroll around that I hate in and then I scroll scrolls crawls scroll and then I head out all

over on the keyboard I then drag this over to my timeline onto video to let it go.

Look at this as you can see if I play that back.

I got my Fuquay and then I've got I've cut my 10 A.D. which is this little tiny square because it's

10 A.D. it's smaller.

If I make this track invisible This is what happens you have black bars show up just like that.

Now the easiest way of fixing it so that you'll get to an upscale the 10:19 so that it's now for came

the easiest way of doing it.

If you just want to do it and I clip by clip basis is you right click on that clip right and you click

on set to frame size and that automatically upscaled that particular clip to fill.

That's the size of the frame in this case it's for it's full ok.

If I hit controls it undo that or command Zed because I want to show you another way doing it.

This is what you do.

You can click on this clip we've selected it.

You got to fix controls up here click on that.

Where is this scale hit this little arrow.

And then you move the slider up and as you can see in the program on the box it's getting bigger and

bigger.

Right.

And so we're scaling it from 100 percent of the 200 percent to now fill the entire frame size.

If we take it back to 100 we could set it to whatever we wanted to.

So this is the other way of doing it.

We can do it manually that way.

OK.

If I undo that controls add all commands on the keyboard.

This is the other way which is easier.

All you need to do is you go edit preferences media and it's as a default media scaling.

With the dropdown.

If we select Code it's like none.

And then now select set to frame size click OK.

It's like that and then we drag it back in.

This is what happens drag it back in there we go Magic.

Right.

And if I take another piece of the 10 30 clip set on the keyboard on the keyboard out Dragon What's

this automatically it's scaled up because I've selected Edit Preferences and it's automatically selected

to the default media scaling of set to frame size.

That's pretty much all you need to do.

So this makes sense if you have any questions about it let me know.

But it's a common question if you're shooting with different cameras at different resolutions how you

set up your sequence file with these different resolutions.
