All language subtitles for 14. How I Use Speed Ramping To Make Awesome Drone Vlogs

Hi everybody welcome back.

It is brought again breaded to dot tv.

I am going to share with you one of my favorite techniques to make my drone videos a little more interesting

and that is speed ramping in Adobe Premiere Pro 2019.

It's one of my favorite techniques I've been using it for a while where you can take a certain part

of your clip for example your drone clip.

In this case we're going to be using a drone clip and then at some point either to the beat of the background

track or just because you feel like it you can speed it up dramatically and then slow back down again.

And I am going to show you how to do it in this short video so I'm going to use this drone clip here

which all supplied to you can download this and you can play with this one or you can use your own it

doesn't matter.

But I'll show you how to do it in Adobe Premiere Pro Se 7:31.

So now on my timeline I've got my drone clip that I want to use.

And the way I've shot this is that I've done like a half moon kind of a shot.

So I've started at one point.

I've flown a 180 degree arc and you'll see Robin there on the page.

So what I want to do is at some point along here I wanted to ramp up and then slow down around here

or to really slow down around here.

How do you do it.

So this is what you do.

You expand out your timeline first all make it bigger so you can see what's going on by clicking on

the line trying it up and it gives you a better idea of what's going on inside this clip.

Then you click on this right click on this go down to show clip keyframes go to time remapping.

And then with his speed click on that and now you have this line that shows up on your clip.

So the first thing to do is to pick a point on your clip where you want the spade ramp to begin.

So I wondered around here that I want this to speed up that.

So make sure you expand your track because you're not going to see this option here where you can add

a keyframe if it's not expanded.

You're not going to see the option to add a key frame.

So expand that out.

So hold down the old and you keyboard use the scroll wheel.

Click on that advocates frame to your clip and then you pick another point along your clip where you

want the speed ramp to slow down.

So around here I said I wanted my clip to slow down back to normal speed.

So I'm going to add another keyframe there.

So you can see that.

Now we've got two key frames here.

If I zoom in a little bit and that is all you do is you click and drag this line up and what it does

is it speeds up the clip between those two key frames and you can see the percentage number increase

as I push that up higher and higher and higher and higher.

And in Adobe Premiere Pro the fastest you can speed ramps a thousand percent.

So if I tried that all the way up I'm going to hit a thousand.

I have to let go of the mouse and try that again.

So 1000 percent if I'd zoom in and play this back without any further changes.

This is what it looks like.

Got my drone clip.

We're playing it slow it ramps and then slows down again.

Now one little thing you can do is you can make this the ramp on and ramp off gradual.

So if you zoom in here you zoom into timeline.

So you know either hold out and scroll wheel on the mouse or you can use the spot on here you see this

keyframe here you can click on this and you can split it like that.

And then when you do that this little handlebar thing shows up what are you going to do is you click

on the handlebar and you kind of drag it like that.

If I play that again you'll see that it's a gradual ramp up as opposed to an abrupt ramp up.

I can do the same thing on the other side.

Click.

Spit that out.

Get my handlebar.

And then it smoothly drops down and spade could even split that even more.

There we go.

That's a bit better.

And as you say that out the clip itself will shorten or lengthen.

There we go.

That's better.

Now I'm going to undo those couple of changes if you really want a faster time speed ramp.

This is what I do sometimes.

So we've got here that we've reached a thousand percent.

We can't go any faster.

This is a little technique that I come up with quite a while ago because I was like I need more than

a thousand percent.

I really want this whip around.

So what I do.

I zoom right into my timeline and I'll take my raise it all I see on the keyboard or click up here and

then at where my key frame is.

I cut it there.

And my second keyframe I cut it there.

I go to my select tool or hit V on the keyboard.

I click on this pace I right click I click on space slash direction and I bump this up to whatever I

want.

So I might bump it up to 10 percent.

Watch this.

I tried that in and I played this back watch this.

So it's a whip.

I mean you get more than that if you want to you know a thousand percent and I've done this and it really

does add super flair to your you drone footage like that is pretty good.

I like that.

That's pretty cool.

You know.

So that's how you can add extra ramping to your clip and that's it.

You right click on this show click keyframes time repairing spade and just pick a point.
