I still can't believe it. When Lucas told me that he was

leaving for Europe, I was preparing for the worst

holiday ever, but... now that Holly's here,

that's all changed. I just feel so lucky.

I mean, I thought Eric and Sarah were gonna take you to the mat

I got into a bad fight with Sarah, and Eric walked into

the middle of it, and I think the whole thing just...

upset him, and he said he was gonna do anything to get custody

I went right to Maggie. I told her it was very clear,

Nicole's wishes in that letter, and she agreed with me.

>> Maggie: Don't make light of this.

You should've spoken to Eric before you made a decision

nothing of the sort. I'm Holly's grandmother.

I'm her next of kin. Now, I'm not perfect.

And Lord knows I made my share of mistakes as your mom.

to do what's right by that little girl!

treat him like an afterthought in all of this.

Very symbolic of the first time Holly came into my life.

Well, as crazy as that was, I don't know that I would

change a thing. When I went into labor, Nicole

was the only person there. She was amazing...

not knowing it was her child I was giving birth to.

>> Brady: All that mattered was helping you.

>> Chloe: Yeah, and when Holly was born, seeing Nicole hold

her baby for the first time... Now that she's gone, it just...

makes me think of all that time that I kept her away from Holly.

I don't deserve to raise Nicole's daughter any more

so I kind of chased her out. And then I regretted that

immediately, so I went to apologize, but...

she had already fallen down the stairs.

You just caught her going through your stuff.

it's not like she was pointing a gun at me or anything.

I overreacted. >> JJ: Maybe, but it's--

it's--it's understandable, especially since you know she

still has a grudge against you. >> Gabi: Yeah, she thinks

I'm bad news. That's why she believed

Abigail's accusations with no proof.

>> JJ: Abigail made a pretty strong case.

I got to admit, she was-- she was so convinced

But given all the facts, I... I just had to accept what I'd

been denying. Abigail needed help.

And her--her accusing you, that was--

that was just her illness, a way for her to--to cope with

okay, especially when Julie is fighting for her life.

one important thing, by the way. If you hadn't volunteered

to carry Nicole and Daniel's child in the first place,

Holly wouldn't even have been born.

to rescue us that night, I've never been so happy to see

someone in my whole life. >> Brady: Well, everybody

with guilty feelings. I forced Nicole to leave town

because she didn't love me.

I felt she needed to suffer. There's no excuse for that.

That's why Eric is furious with me.

He's not furious with me. He thinks I'm the scum

of the earth. And that man has every reason

to believe that and think that.

The sad truth is, is even if he finds it in his heart to

forgive me... I don't--I don't think I'm

gonna be able to forgive myself.

[sighs] >> JJ: I was here the other day,

uh, about to go on shift, and I got this call

from Theo just out of the blue.

>> Gabi: You're kidding. >> JJ: Yeah.

>> Gabi: How's he doing? >> JJ: He's doing really well.

Um, he figured with the, uh-- with the anniversary

of the shooting, uh, he might be on my mind, and

he didn't want me to go to that dark place again.

You believe that? >> Gabi: Sounds like Theo.

>> JJ: Such an amazing guy. >> Gabi: Yeah, he is.

But, you know, he also knows that you're an amazing guy,

that you've got a great heart, that you'd never intentionally

hurt anybody. >> JJ: He is a very forgiving,

uh, and generous person. Like you.

Look, I-I know, uh, a lot has happened this last

year, and... I want you to know that I

haven't forgotten about last Christmas Eve.

When I opened that door and saw you standing there...

city. But surely you're not worried

Which is why I took a job at

I mean, you knew nothing had been settled with

Holly's custody. But you went running over to

Maggie's house the first chance you got, manipulated her

into giving you that baby. >> Brady: Eric, stop. Come on.

She--she's just looking out for what's best for Holly.

must not listen very well. This has nothing to do with you,

so why don't you just stay the hell out of it?

This may come as a shock to you, but, uh,

I actually appreciate it. And I have no doubt that your

heart is in the right place. But I think you're forgetting

that I lost Gabby once before. And I didn't lock her in a cage

or keep her from the people that she loves.

And I made peace with that. But Gabby still fought her way

back to me. And now that I know--

now that I've seen how much she loves me,

I'm never losing her again.

>> Marlena: What about Abigail's family?

What about the people that love her and miss her?

Are they just supposed to get used to the fact

that she's gone? >> Stefan: That's not my choice.

It's clearly Gabby's. But you can be sure that I will

give her the family that she needs.

I will be a good father to Charlotte
