there's less things to mix

there's less instruments

uh less vocal layers that it'll be easier to mix um

and in many ways that's true

but there's also more things in your face um

and more things that could go wrong

and phase each other out

so we just wanna

make sure that everything is nice and tight and crisp

I think in the last song

there was such a heavy emphasis

on making everything super perfect and lined up

and I do want this to have that same effect

but we're gonna

let the song speak for itself a little bit more

rather than making it sound too perfect

because you don't want something like this to sound

super robotic

for example

on the last song

like I was dragging vocal syllables onto the grid

I think there's

there's no drums in this really

it's just the sequence um

base effect so I think

it'd be wise to leave everything very open and loose

but let's just give it a rundown

we just listen to where we are at in the verse

see if there needs to be any specific note

like changes
