In this lesson, I'm going to teach
you a really powerful framework

that I used during my ideation
process called my P S S P Framework.

The P S S P framework is a way to help
link and contextualize your problem to a

solution and come up with a product idea.

So the P is for problem, the S is for
stat, the second S is for solution,

and the final P is for product.

Using this framework will really simplify
and highlight the way in which your

product is a solution to your problem.

So let's take my brand drop bottle
for example here, and I'll give

you a little background on the
brand so that you can see how it

works within the P S S P framework.

So at Drop Bottle, we provide
creative hydration solutions

that don't hurt the planet.

I'll use Drop Bottle as an example
frequently throughout start and scale.

So I'll add our website and social
links to the resources section

for you to check out as well.

Our overall brand ethos is every
drop counts, both in terms of every

drop of water that you consume
and every drop bottle purchased.

Every drop bottle purchased
helps to decrease waste from

single use plastic bottles.

And we also make a contribution to
our CHA charity partner, drop the

drop for every bottle purchased.

So this is an environmentally and socially
conscious approach to consumption.

So at Drop Bottle, we're looking to
solve two core problems that revolve

around hydration and sustainability.

So let's take hydration into
account thirst and use my P S

S P framework to highlight our
problem, solution, stat and product.

So the problem is that most of
us don't drink enough water, and

dehydration is detrimental or
even dangerous to the human body.

The solution is hydration solutions
that mean we do drink enough water.

So again, here we're thinking in
polarities, dehydration is the

problem and hydration is the solution.

A stat to highlight this could
be that fatigue is one of the

first signs of dehydration.

Our bodies are made up of 64%
water, and a loss of just one to 2%

of body weight of water is enough
to cause the onset of fatigue.

And our product could be a
fruit infused drink bottle to

rehydrate creatively on the go.

Now let's look at it from
a sustainable approach.

So the problem is the waste caused
by single use plastic, especially

from everyday items like plastic,
single use drink bottles, a

stat to highlight this problem.

And thus, the need for a solution
is that single use plastic from

everyday products accounts for over
half of the world's plastic waste.

The solution would be making this
drink bottle reusable, and the product

idea is a reusable glass drink bottle.

Sorry, enter drop bottle.

So you can see the way in which we're
able to use our P S S P framework

to really shape our end product.

As an action item for this lesson,
I want you to use the P S S P

worksheet we've provided you with
on each of the five ideas that you

came up with in the previous lesson
to really highlight the problem that

you're solving, a stat to make it
relevant to consumers, your solution

to this problem and a product idea.
