2017 Idol Star Athletics Championship will now began!

(Track and meet)

2017 Idol Star Athletics Championship will start with track and field.

He is the face of track and meet.

The icon of bad luck.

Yoon Yeu-choon, a MBC commentator is here with us. Welcome.

- Hello. - Welcome.

I heard you prepared something.

We're making a lot of contribution to advancement of track and meet.

Korea Association of Athletics Federations gave an appreciation plaque.

For the unique desire and devotion to the advancement of track and meet...

and for your service to make track and meet well known...

we give this plaque with thankfulness from the athletes. Thank you.

It's from the Korea Association of Athletics Federations

- Congratulations. - Thank you.

Now, we have to talk about Yoon Yeo-choon's curse.

Something amazing happened last time.

He said Nara from Hello Venus will win, but she actually fell and lost.

- And Yein from Lovelyz... - Yes.

as soon as he mentioned her, she had a false start.

We have to find a way to end this curse.

- So this time I... - That looks heavy.

I carefully analyzed the records in the last 8 years.

Today, there won't be any curse.

I’m sorry but it looks pretty thin for 8 years of analysis.

(Not listening) Is it one page per year>

HE only prepared it for a week.

Wow!

There's all the profiles. He prepared a lot.

Starting today, it will be Yoon Yeo-choon's blessing.

Wow, we'll expect something great.

Since you prepared a lot, we'll expect everything you say to be a blessing.

- Yes, of course. - We look forward to it.

The first will be women's 60 meter meet.

We'll meet the athletes soon.

Traditionally, you've always presented perspectives in cute ways.

We look forward to it.

Women's track perspective, cue!

Who will be the idol to stop Yu-ju's unbroken victories of gold medal?

- We have to find her. - Yu-ju is a strong player.

- She is a strong player. - She consecutively won two gold medals.

- She's really fast. - Yes, she is.

Her record is 9.07 seconds.

The questions is can she beat her score and finish within 8 seconds?

This is also one of the main points.

Who is her competition?

- I'd say the new players. - Like who?

They should have picked these athletes...

You don't have information?

Let's see the meet first and then talk about it.

That's what he always says, the new players are the competitors.

Now we will progress to the Women's 60m track meet.

1st lane, Melody Day's Yoo-min

2nd lane, Sonamoo's D.Ana

3rd lane, Girlfriend's Yu-ju.

4th lane, Red Velvet's Seulgi

5th lane, Cosmic Girls' Dawon

6th lane, Brave Girls' Hayoon

Yu-ju in 3rd lane stands out.

Her attitude is confident that she'd make it to the preliminary rounds.

I am Yu-ju.

- She gives off that vibe. - I have gold in my house.

Exactly.

(Nervous)

Please be silent.

Ready.

And they're off! Wow!

And they're off! Wow!

Yu-ju is running off.

Expectedly.

- Yu-ju is overwhelmingly fast. - She is extremely fast.

(Easily comes in first place)

She has the luxury to even jump at the end.

There was a big gap as if she was a man.

- She's one of a kind. - Yes, she is.

- She is the one in 3rd lane. - Yes.

- Look how fast she is. - Wow!

She's already ahead of everyone else.

Seulgi seems to be right behind her.

- She moves like a butterfly. - Navillera!

She is great!

There is a big difference between the 1st and 2nd place.

Now we have the 2nd group for the meet.

Binnie is there from Oh My Girl.

This is Binnie's 4th time participating.

She got the bronze medal for the two races.

- Now it's her turn for the gold. - Yes.

Oh I see her shaking her head.

- We look forward to it. - I think...

Jeong-hwa from EXID is more than ready for this race.

She already looks like a representative player.

- Wow. - Are you looking at Yoon Yeo-choon's face?

- Yes, I'm sorry. - Where are you looking?

Stop making things up.

Ready, get set.

Oh My Girl's Binnie is in the 4th lane.

She is definitely faster.

She is doing well as she is a winning candidate.

She even takes the time to look back.

But Min-young is also very fast.

- Min-young is fast too. - Jeong-hwa hesitated at the start.

She was very quick at the starting line.

Binnie was always the quickest one at the starting line.

- I see. - She has a fast start.

She takes the time to look back. (Not sprinting just yet)

She was waiting for the last moment to sprint.

- She was saving her speed. - It's not east to smile as you run.

- The records are up. - Her record is 10.04 seconds.

- Yu-ju is still faster. - This is a prediction of records.

This is a minimal line of expectations.

Now we have the 3rd group.

This is Lovelyz's Kei and Gugudan's Se-jeong's first race.

Just from her name, Hana is expected to be a great runner.

Yes, she should be missing her mom to run well.

I think that Gugudan's Se-jeong will do really well.

Really? why do you get that feeling?

I've seen her back and arm muscles in various TV shows.

And it was amazing, that's why. - Like a body builder.

I haven't heard of a woman with back muscles in a while.

I expect her to do well because she has muscles.

- I have high expectations from Chaeyoung. - Where are you looking?

In the episode for Thanksgiving, she lost the bronze medal by 0.01 difference.

She was in 4th place.

My question is what color will her medal be for this race?

That is my questions since I'm certain she will do well.

Yoo Yeo-choon just had his first remark about the result.

- He mentioned Chaeyoung. - This may not be good for her.

- It makes her uneasy. - It's a blessing!

- Okay. - She looks uncomfortable.

I bet she's thinking that you shouldn't have mentioned her.

Anyway, Yoon Yeo-choon is looking forward to Chaeyoung's performance.

Go to your places

Unexpected changes make competitions interesting.

Let's wait and see if an unexpected player comes out from this.

Ready, get set.

- And they're off! - They had a late start!

Wow, she's fast! (1st lane, Se-jeong (Gugudan)

Will there be a change?

- She's fast! - Will there be a change?

- Se-jeong is fast! - Se-jeong!

- Wow! - What just happened?

- Eun-ji was right! - Yay, I got it right!

Eun-ji gets it right and Yoon Yeo-choon's curse is starting now.

It's unbelievable.

Eun-ji saw Se-jeong's energy in other TV shows.

- Eun-ji mentioned her muscles. - She is amazing.

It was her first guess and she was right.

On the other hand, Yoon Yeo-choon had his whole research to look through.

And he was wrong. Chaeyoung's start was very late.

Initially, Ji-Eun had a fast start.

Se-jeong still came in first. It would've been better if she also had a good start.

Meanwhile, she hurt her ankle a bit during the race.

It's because of Yoon Yeo-choon.

You can see her ankle here.

- Let's meet the 4th group. - What are the expectations?

There are many first time racers in this group.

This is why there maybe many unexpected outcomes with their records.

Chaeyoung had a late start.

Are you still feeling bad about it?

But this time I am sure about Eun-seo from Cosmic Girls.

- Are you sure? - She's telling you to stop.

She wants you to stop talking, please cancel what you just said.

Eun-seo got a bronze on her first race.

She now has experience with racing.

I can confidently say that she is Yu-ju's rival.

The race will start now.

Ready, get set.

And they're off!

Wow, Eun-seo definitely had a fast start.

Wow, Eun-seo definitely had a fast start.

Eun-seo is beating everyone.

- She is really fast. - Marie!

Wow!

She's definitely fast.

I wonder what her record is.

Eun-seo did really well just as Yoon Yeo-choon had predicted.

This is why you need solid evidence analysis, not just feelings.

It's been an hour and you only got 1 right.

This is just a start.

Eun-seo proves to be a rival of Yu-ju by her records.

Let's move on to the 5th group.

- This group is unpredictable. - None of them have records.

It's the first race for all of them.

Wow, we can't predict anything.

There is a beauty contest contestant.

- That's so random. - I'm rooting for Jeon Min-kyung.

She was in a beauty contest but she was also in track and field competition.

- It's right here. - You're playing it safe.

- Oh is that so? - You have it underlined.

Looking at her physical status, I pick Rui from H.U.B.

- Rui from H.U.B. - Doesn't she look like a runner?

- She really looks like an athlete. - She's very tall.

I think she will be the unexpected outcome of this race.

She dreamed of being an idol while watching our show in Japan.

- Really? - She didn't watch music shows.

She dreamed of being an idol from watching this show. It's amazing.

This race will start now.

Yoon Yeo-choon picked Jeon Min-kyung.

Lee Soo-geun picked Rui.

She is from Japan.

(Who will be the winner?)

It started! (Start)

Wow, Rui! (Mouth wide open~)

- Wow! - Rui!

It started!

Rui! (Rui's overwhelming lead)

Rui! (Solo race)

(Excitement all around) She's like Usain Bolt!

She's like Usain Bolt!

(Rui, moving on to the finals)

Wow, she is amazing.

She didn't run, she flew.

- I can't wait to see her score. - I thought she was Usain Bolt.

She really knows how to run. Look at her go forward.

- What just happened? - Wow.

She can run with men.

Look at her speed and the distance between her and the other players.

She kicks her knees high just as professional athletes.

High knees mean that she has long strides.

At the end her speed... wow!

She couldn't handle her speed and flew.

I think so far, Yoon Yeo-choong...

Look he's watching with his mouth open.

This race surprised everyone.

He's surprised with his mouth open because you were wrong again.

- Wow, her record is 9.33 seconds! - 9.33!

Yu-ju's record was 9.81.

Her record is the highest.

Rui is in the first place in the preliminary round.

Now we will start the Men's 60m preliminary rounds.

There is a genealogy of top runners in the last 8 years.

Jo Kwon is a legend.

- And then it was Dong-jun. - Yes.

After that it was Min-hyuk, who won 4 times.

But last time, Woo-sung from Snuper won.

Woo-sung broke Min-hyuk's record.

- So we have a new winner. - Yes.

The winner men's race changes frequently, unlike the women's race.

Do you think there's another player we should look out for?

- I pick Yu-ta. - Yu-ta, why did you pick him?

He's from Osaka.

- I don't believe this. - What?

It's because Rui is from Japan and she came in first place.

It's a pure fabrication of reasoning.

The 60m Men's race will start now.

1st lane, Snuper's Se-bin.

Se-bin.

2nd lane, Astor's Moon-bin.

3rd lane, Seventeen's Scoups.

4th lane, NCT 127's Yu-ta.

Yu-ta.

5th lane, Nu-est's JR.

6th lane, SF9's Chan-hee.

Ready, get set.

They're super fast! (Start)

How are they so fast? It's a false start!

(Scoups' false start)

- False start! - It's a false start.

False start by Seventeen's Scoups.

- He has a fast reaction. - It was a close call.

He was a little fast but his feet didn't cross the line until after the beep.

Let me explain the rules.

Even if you start 0.1 second early, it still counts as a false start.

- It's still an early start. - That's right.

You have to start after the beep.

After the first false start...

anyone who has a false start is automatically disqualified.

(Be strong!)

- And they're off! - Great start.

(Close race)

(Scoups vs Moon Bin vs Se-bin Who will be the winner?)

2nd lane!

- Astro's Moon Bin! - Moon Bin!

Moon Bin, wow!

What a difference!

They also had a great start this time.

- But in the middle... - He almost fell.

Then Moon Bin starts sprinting forward.

- His speed was overwhelming. - He has a great momentum.

- Where's the guy from Osaka? - He came in 4th.

Osaka came in 4th place.

Let's see the 2nd group.

Eun-ji seems to be rooting for the person in 5th lane.

We are in the same entertainment company.

This is Chan's first race.

- Victon is a brother group of Apink. - That's right.

They're like our little brothers.

In this round, Huh Chan and Madtown's Huh Joon in 6th lane...

- they're brothers. - Are they really brothers?

The 2nd and 6th lanes are brothers. (Family feud)

This can be the changing factor.

Who are you rooting for, Yoon Yeo-choon?

I analyzed this group very carefully.

Well then we will look forward to the person you pick.

I choose Joo-heon in 3rd lane. (Monsta X's Joo-heon)

You've picked an obvious choice.

Last time, he came in fourth and didn't get a medal.

I saw he was absolutely determined to win in the next game.

He won't let it go this time.

That's why I think he will definitely do well today.

Ready, get set.

They're off! (Start)

It's Joo-heon! (Unbelievable speed)

- It's Joo-heon. - Wait, look!

Huh Chan!

Huh Chan! (Sprinting last minute)

- Huh Chan! - Wow!

Huh Chan sprained his ankle a bit in the middle.

- That's right. It was his first race. - He was nervous.

Joo-heon's times is 8.16 seconds.

Huh Chan came in at 8.32 seconds.

Now we're ready for the 3rd group.

Jo-ta from Madtown stands out in the 3rd lane.

Yes, he won the silver medal last time.

Kim Yoo-Jin was a track and field athlete. (Jo-ta's rival)

But from looking at the records, Jo-ta has a better chance of winning.

And they're off! (Start!

5th lane is in first place. (Han Seung-woo vs Jae-up)

Imfact's Jae-up. (Jae-up loses balance)

5th lane is still going strong.

Imfact's Jae-up. (Jae-up loses balance)

He fell! (Han Seung-woo wins)

Jae-up from Imfact fell.

- Seung-woo from Victon wins! - Great job!

- Excuse me. - Yes?

You are a caster, please refrain from making personal comments.

Why did I do that?

Victon's Han Seung-woo!

He changed the wind.

Look at them run beyond all others.

Look at their strides!

(Jae-up's unfortunate mistake)

He was probably surprised by the guy next to him.

- I see. - Because he came out of nowhere.

- It's unfortunate. - I hope he didn't get hurt.

He used a forward roll technique.

Victon is doing well with Eun-ji's support.

- I'm proud. - He came in within 7 seconds.

- 7 seconds! - Wow!

The 1st place is Victon's Han Seung-woo with 7.93 seconds.

These idols have so many talents.

Don't try to avoid it.

You picked Jo-ta.

As soon as he chose Jo-ta...

he didn't pass the preliminary round.

- Look at him. He's mad now. - Jo-ta fighting!

It's all because you mentioned him.

I think he's coming here to spray the water at us.

(Yoon Yeo-choon fighting)

Now we're ready for the 4th group.

Woo-sung from Snuper currently holds the highest record.

He's currently the fastest.

No one has been able to beat his record of 7.32 seconds.

So aside from Woo-sung who already stands out...

(Nerve wrecking moment)

Ready, get set.

And they're off! (Start)

- Wow! - Woo-sung is leading.

Kuhn in 5th lane is coming up close.

Woo-sung! (No surprises)

Comes in 1st place easily. (No surprises)

It seems he didn't use full speed during the race.

He was also checking people behind him.

Woo-sung usually has a weak start.

But he started well today.

They usually start sprinting about half way.

- He tenses a little bit. - Kuhn was right behind him.

- Woo-sung looks very peaceful. - He was peaceful.

- Look at his face. - It's like he's walking.

His face is relaxed as if he's walking.

On the other hand, Kuhn was trying his best.

He couldn't control his speed so he kicked someone next to him.

Look at him here! Kick!

Is he okay?

- It was an accident. - He's angry for coming in 2nd.

- He scared himself too.

- He's hugging him apologetically. - Yes, it was an accident.

Woo-sung comes in at 8.04 seconds.

- His record is 7.32 seconds. - He didn't use his full speed.

He probably came in later in purpose.

(Archery)

(Men's Archery Team Competition)

2017 New Year's episode of Idol Star Athletics Championship

Track and meet, rhythmic gymnastics, archery and aerobics

We will now start Men's Archery Team Competition.

We have a gold medalist from Atlanta Olympics in 1996...

Yoon Hye-young. Hello!

- Hello and welcome. - My name is Yoon Hye-young.

I'm happy be part of the archery caster every year...

I'd like to thank the show for keeping archery as a category.

I'm very honored.

Is there an Appreciation Plaque for the archery group?

I can suggest it for the Thanksgiving episode.

The 1st round of team competition will now began.

B1A4 vs VIXX (Seniors vs. Juniors)

This competition is B1A4 vs. VIXX.

B1A4 is the original archery idol with great basic posture for archery.

I anticipate that they will show a steady game.

VIXX has great physical condition that's fit for archery.

They're also very strong.

As long as Leo remains calm even it's hist first time...

I think this will be a good game.

- The first player is always so important. - I agree.

Gong-Chan will shoot first. (2017 first shot)

- He shot it.

Wow! (10 points)

(I can't believe it!)

The first shot is the king!

- Wow! - The first shot and the first 10 points!

- Wow, it's so refreshing. - I agree.

I hope the viewers feel the same. (Feels good)

VIXX is shocked. (Are you serious?)

They can't close their mouths.

Now there is more pressure to the opposing team.

- 8 points! - That's also good.

- He did well too. - It's good for the first shot.

(Gong Chan's 2nd shot)

Wow, 9 points! (9 points)

Now, Hyuk is shooting.

- He shot well. - 9 points.

- He shot well. - 9 points.

Gong Chan can't take it easy just yet.

They're both really good.

- Nice shot! - 9 points.

This is amazing. Was he always this good?

I watched him practice.

He doesn't go beyond the yellow areas.

Really?

One more 10 points will change the pace of this game.

Aww, it's 7 points. (7 points)

If he directed the arrow to the left, he would've gotten 10 points.

2nd runners up are Jin-young and Leo. - Leo from VIXX.

(Jin-young's first shot)

8 points.

- That's good. - It's not bad.

Jin-young looks like Gureumi with an arrow.

- I thought he hid the moonlight. - Exactly.

(Leo's first shot)

Leo from VIXX is getting ready for his first shot.

(How good is Leo?)

(Everyone is focused on him)

(Great posture)

He seems to have a great physique.

- Where did it go? - What happened?

He hit the 2nd character in the back.

It's because Leo closed his right eye to aim when he should've closed his left eye.

He closed his right eye.

So he aimed for the set.

He closed the wrong eye. (We're embarrassed...)

- He's supposed to close the other eye. - He closed his left eye.

You see he closed his right eye.

Then it's hard to aim.

- He closed his right eye... - It flew away.

It's the same as aiming the person looking at the rabbit instead of the rabbit itself.

Jin-young is composed. (Likely to win now)

Will he finish this round?

He got 7 points. (B1A4 is composed)

(Sloppy Leo's 2nd shot)

(Leo makes another mistake)

Did he shoot the eye this time?

(Mom...)

B1A4 Shin-woo vs VIXX N

(Arrival of Ace Shin-woo)

It's 9 points.

Wow! (9 points)

- 10 points! - Nice!

- He's almost the ace of this group. - He is the ace.

He is greedy. (N, ready to oppose)

- Wow! - 10 points!

Wow, it's 9 points.

Wow, it's 9 points again.

- Great job! - You did your best.

B1A4 has 83 points while VIXX has 67 points.

B1A4 easily defeats VIXX and moves on to the semi-final.

Monsta X goes straight to the semi-finals

because they were the gold medalists last time.

He shoots! (Achieve 10 points in front of experts)

This is Min-hyuk.

- 10 points. (If you run...)

10 points! Gureumi! (they chase after you...)

(Archery chase between two teams)

This is more like the play-off.

(Shin-woo has the key to victory...)

9 points. (Shin-woo confirms 1 shot!)

Amazing.

Now B1A4 wins to move onto the play-off...

with 7 point lead against VIXX.

Now the 2nd round of Men's Archery Group Competition will start.

Seventeen vs EXO

This game is between Seventeen and EXO.

EXO had a hard time getting used to archery.

But this is the team that practiced day and night without resting.

Vernon vs Chan-yeol.

Okay.

Vernon is the face of the group, Ver-Caprio.

Yep.

Everyone in EXO is handsome.

But Chan-yeol claims he is above other members in the group.

Seventeen's Vernon will take the first shot.

He stretches far.

(10 points)

Wow, 10 points!

Seventeen gets 10 points on the 1st shot,

There's no hesitance. (Very nice)

He shoots straight in the center, wow!

He wants to go really well. (EXO meets a tough competitor)

Oh it's 5 points. (5 points)

(High pressure prohibits Chan-yeol)

(Soo-ho is aiming for more points)

Wow! (10 points)

- It's 10 points! - 10 points!

- 10 points. - Soo-ho is amazing.

- Good job, Soo-ho! - Savior of EXO.

Wow, 10 points! (Soo-ho reduced the difference)

This is his last shot. (Joon's last shot)

- Wow! - 10 points!

(Oh my goodness)

- Wow! Another 10! - Great job, Joon!

They're making it impossible to beat. (Catch us if you can)

He has to get it closer to his chin.

(Can't seem to catch up to them...)

Now it's Woozi's turn.)

His posture is great. (8 points)

What's the total score?

(Older sister~)

I feel like I'm in the army.

Yes, I agree.

It feels like a competition between 2 units in the army.

(Ji-min's first arrow)

Look at her pose.

They're starting with 6 points.

Didn't she tilt her head too high?

- What do you think? - I think so.

It's Tzuyu's turn. (Tzuyu's first shot)

She has a perfect posture.

She shot very well. It's 8 points.

She's good. (Satisfied)

- She's good. - Yes.

Doesn't she have the exemplary posture for archery?

It was perfect. (Ji-min's 2nd arrow)

I think she's rushing it.

- Did she point the arrow down? - Yes.

Where did it go? (0 point)

Well the bow and arrow is pretty heavy.

She missed it. (Nervous, AOA keep making mistakes)

- She missed it? - Yes, she missed it.

She hits the set on the opposite side of the one that Ji-min hit.

(Seol-hyun is not giving up)

It's 8 points.

- She's good. - It was very stable.

She's the ace in the team.

It's 7 points. (All of Twice members are stable)

(All of Twice members are stable)

They're all gathered there. (All of Twice members are stable)

They're having a reunion. (All of Twice members are stable)

They're having a reunion at 11 o'clock.

Yes, I see.

The arrow in the yellow seems like their head teacher.

They could've all made it to the yellow if they focused well.

- They could've caught up. - This round is over.

Twice defeats AOA and moves on to the semi-finals. Congratulations.

Girlfriend won the gold medal last time so they automatic advance to the play-offs.

They have to show them. (Girlfriends' preemptive attack)

- Wow! 10 points! - 10 points!

10 points!

- Nice! - 10 points!

- It's 8 points. - She got better.

(Twice's fight back)

Sana...

(Thump!) And she hits the set!

She hits the set at 3 o'clock.

That shot was too much.

- Now it's over. - It was a friendly battle.

Girlfriends blocked Twice well from winning.

The 2nd round of Women's Archery Group Competition will now start.

Red Velvet vs Lovelyz

The Red Velvet will go against Lovelyz in this round.

(Ye-ri's first shot)

She is the Kkobugi in the group.

Ye-ri.

Wow, that came in well. (7 points)

Aww, it's 0 point. (Red Velvet can't get a grip)

It's 0 point. (Red Velvet can't get a grip)

Her form looks good.

She got 9 points.

She closed the deal!

Lovelyz won.

It was a friendly match.

With Lovelyz's win, they're moving onto the semifinals.

Their archery class is forever.

EXID moves onto the finals.

Congratulations.

(Rhythmic Gymnastics)

The Rhythmic Gymnastics match will begin shortly.

The Rhythmic Gymnastics match will begin now.

This event became a hot issue last year.

Of course we had to bring out this charismatic lady.

She's the current MBC commentator for the Olympics. Welcome Ms. Cha Sang-Eun.

- Welcome. - Hello.

I'm the coach for Idol Athletics and commentator, Cha Sang-Eun.

I remember when we had it for the first time during last Thanksgiving.

We told you this event will continue only if it goes well.

- It went very well. - Yes, it became a hot topic.

Thanks to Idol Athletics, Rhythmic Gymnastics is receiving lots of attention.

Please introduce us to the rules. Many people still find it hard to follow.

The athlete is supposed to compete in 4 events.

But this time, they'll compete in one event with one equipment.

All right. Eun-ji, which athletes are competing?

I saw the list of the athletes.

- The lineup is amazing. - Really?

- First, we have Cao Lu from Fiestar. - Cao Lu!

Jung Yein from Lovelyz.

MINA from TWICE.

Cheng Xiao from Cosmic Girls.

- Yuju from GFriend. - Oh, Yuju is in it.

YooA from Oh My Girl.

There are a total of 6 athletes.

There are points to watch out for in Rhythmic Gymnastics, right?

Yes there are.

I look forward to this the most.

Cue the points to watch out for in Rhythmic Gymnastics!

- That was pretty. - What was that?

- I was going for the rooster. - Oh, it was a rooster?

Beat Cheng Xiao!

That's right. She won with an overwhelming score.

She did.

She's the most flexible and has amazing acting skills.

- That's right. - She won the gold medal.

Right.

Is there anyone who comes close to Cheng Xiao?

Well, one mistake can cost a lot of points in Rhythmic Gymnastics.

Right.

You can assume that the one who doesn't make mistakes will win.

- All right. - The competition is fierce this time,

so I think you can look forward to it.

All right, shall we meet the first contestant through her video?

Yes.

(Powerful and innocent, Yuju from GFriend)

It's a video of her practice.

I get emotional watching things like this.

- Wow Yuju! - Yuju is fast.

Yuju is undefeatable.

(Practices like it's the actual match)

(Advanced equipment move)

I can't see the ball.

Nice, nice.

You have to look at it. Look at it.

There you go!

It's a new challenge for me, but I won't get scared and give you a good performance.

Let's go!

The first contestant for Rhythmic Gymnastics will enter.

Yuju from GFriend.

Yuju expressed that she'd like to compete in

this during last Thanksgiving's championships.

- She couldn't do it because of her schedule. - Yes, she had injured her finger.

That's right. She also had an injury.

She entered with a ball. Her equipment of choice is ball.

She's starting out in the center.

- She looks pretty. - Let's watch her program.

(Her sad eyes look like she's hiding a secret)

She did the balance move. It was nice.

It was nice.

(A lovely jump and a graceful turn)

(Detailed moves that express the emotions)

Her acting is very nice.

She's very good at expressing herself.

Oh she got it!

She's very good at expressing herself.

Oh she got it!

She pulled off the DER with two spins.

Yes she did.

DER.

(Doing well even though it's her first time competing)

(Performance that shows her hard work)

She's very tall.

And she has nice facial features.

Those are her strong suits.

Yes, and her dance moves are very graceful.

She caught it.

She caught it.

She pulled off the masteries move nicely.

She'll get high points for the DER and masteries.

Yes, and she also had nice balance.

She has nice balance.

Her last move.

- That was Yuju. - She did a good job.

She was great.

She didn't get to compete last time because of her injury.

There weren't any mistakes right?

She did a good job without any mistakes.

Her theme was being a lovely woman.

She did a great job expressing that.

I think Rhythmic Gymnastics is the sports where women can look the most lovely in.

That's right.

The manager looks happy as if he's the one who competed in it.

Let's take a look again.

Her expression was very nice.

She threw the ball up high and caught it after two spins.

She did a great job.

And she did a move where she rolls the ball starting from her feet.

You usually roll it on the opposite side.

There was a slight bounce, but she still rolled it without losing it.

She controls the ball very well.

She's good at throwing it too. She's doing a great job.

The GFriend members look very happy.

Why don't we hear from her?

I'm reporter N from VIXX, out here at the scene

of 2017 Idol Star Athletics Championships.

You must've been nervous going first at your first competition.

Yes.

Please tell us how you feel now that you've finished

your competition after practicing for over a month.

While I practiced for about a month and half,

I don't regret anything because I learned so much besides Rhythmic Gymnastics.

I think I was able to finish it well thanks to my members and the fans' support.

Your manager was applauding the whole time he was watching your performance.

What do you think her ranking will be?

She's a gold medalist in my mind.

He's good with his words!

We can assume that he prepared that comment ahead of time.

- He came up with it last night. - Right.

We can tell he stayed up thinking of what to say.

We see her as a strong candidate for a gold medal.

- That's right. - Of course.

She didn't have any big mistakes.

Her score is out.

It's 10.95.

It's pretty high.

- She didn't get any points deducted. - That's right.

She's currently in first place.

She's in first place.

Congratulations.

She remained calm and did a good job.

It's time to meet our second contestant.

Let's see who it is.

(Yein from Lovely Lovelyz)

(She has come back stronger)

Wow, she already looks--

Is that Yein?

Oh from Lovelyz.

(With a fatal sexy charm)

Oh, I thought it was her actually doing that.

(Transformed into the Bond Girl of Rhythmic Gymnastics!)

(Looks like an actual athlete)

That's a pretty difficult move.

Head!

She's very flexible.

(Even mastered a difficult move)

I'll show you guys a perfect performance.

Please look forward to the sexy Bond Girl!

Jung Yein from Lovelyz.

Yein turned 20 this year.

She's planning on giving a sexy performance.

So she has transformed into a Bond Girl from 007.

- I'm looking forward to it. - All right.

Let's take a look at the second contestant, Yein.

(Red dress to embody the passionate and sexy Bond Girl)

- Nice. - She caught it.

(Successful boomerang throw)

It's called the boomerang throw.

It was a difficult move.

(Mastered the technique by practicing the most)

She caught it.

(The beauty is created at her fingertips)

She's doing a great job with the ribbon.

- Nice fouette pivot! - Isn't that a very difficult...

Nice fouette pivot!

- Isn't that a very difficult turn? - Yes it is.

She's the only contestant who can do 4 turns.

The only one who can do 4 turns.

She pulled it off.

Oh, she missed it.

Oh, she missed it.

She missed it.

It's okay.

She'll have to remain calm until the end.

(Successful turn jumps twice in a row)

(Bond Girl's Seduction)

Yein gave a charming Bond Girl performance.

She was very pretty.

She did modern dance, so she has beautiful lines.

Wow, this part was really...

- fouette pivot. - 4 turns!

She did 4 turns of fouette pivots.

She's the only contestant who can do turn jumps twice in a row.

- Right. - She has a lot of strong suits.

Her mistake is unfortunate.

Yes.

She attempted a difficult throw and made a mistake.

She was very good at the throw during practice.

- She has never missed that throw. - Right.

That's too bad.

You practiced a lot and finished your performance well.

Please tell us how you feel.

I don't get a lot of opportunities to show ballet moves as an idol.

I'm very happy because I got the chance to show

a new side of me through Rhythmic Gymnastics.

I have a question for your manager too.

Yuju's manager is receiving lots of attention for his romantic answer.

She's a gold medalist in my mind.

After watching her performance, what ranking or result are you expecting?

I don't want her to win a gold medal.

Yein won the bronze medal last year,

but she got a little cocky after becoming the number one searched name.

So the members were very disappointed too.

We had said that we should return to our humble beginnings.

He's a strict manager.

I don't want her to win.

I just want her to grow up to be a nice person.

- Grow up to be a nice person. - Are you her dad?

He's like a father figure.

Okay, the scores. Let's see how she did.

Oh, 10.75!

That is amazing. That is a very high score.

- If there hadn't been penalties... - Right.

She could've beat Yuju and won first place.

It looks like there was a line over.

There was a mistake where it went out of the line.

Anyway, 10.75 is a very high score.

Yes, she did a great job.

Alright, let's meet our third participant.

(Cao Lu from Fiestar)

(Cao Lu, the woman Aladdin loved)

- She's a dark horse. - She is.

Doing it fast--

She challenged herself.

- I heard that's the most difficult. - Yes, it is.

It is a beautiful event in itself.

She got hit in the head a lot.

(Shaking)

Oh, I'm in my thirties...

(But she never lets go of her clubs)

If I want to beat Cheng Xiao, I need a high difficulty score.

That's why she practiced a lot of difficult moves.

(She starts to get the hang of it)

I have a goal. I have to beat Cheng Xiao.

Cheng Xiao! You just wait!

(Old soldiers never die. Cao Lu)

Cao Lu from Fiestar.

We know that she practiced the most out of all participants.

It's Cao Lu from Fiestar.

Yes, her choreography includes a lot of difficult moves, and

she's ready to show us the technique with the clubs and the charm of Asia.

That was a great mill.

- Yes. - She caught it!

(She catches them easily)

This is the first time we're seeing clubs on our show.

- That was great. - It doesn't look easy.

Very cheerful.

She's lovely.

(A cheerful song for a change of mood)

(A routine with both a turn and a throw)

(Succeeds)

- It's a DER-- - She did it!

A DER following mastery of the apparatus.

- Her jumps have improved so much. - Yes, the jumps have improved.

(The result of hard practice)

- That looks difficult. - She's good at mastery of the apparatus.

Some cute moves here.

Watching her makes me nervous.

Her fouette pivots look very stable.

- Clearly better than last year. - Yes, two throws in a row--

Looks good.

Clearly better than last year.

- Yes, two throws in a row-- - She did it! Two in a row.

- It's past the halfway point. - The last mastery--

Mastery--

- The last mastery-- - Mastery--

She did it!

- That was great. - That was great.

All the practice paid off.

- She was wonderful. - She was.

It's because she put in so much time to practice--

She practiced a lot--

- This move. - The mastery.

Yes, it was beautiful.

She never let go of the clubs

almost like they're parts of her body. That's how much she practiced.

And her hard work paid off.

She threw both clubs, one after another, like a cascade...

And she perfectly performed the DER move.

Look at that.

- If you look at-- - I was nervous.

That's what professional gymnast do.

Throwing both clubs in the air with her foot and catching them...

That looked perfectly clean.

So...

I think the managers all look the same!

- Aren't they the same person? - It's like they're doppelgangers.

That's incredible.

Clubs are said to be the most difficult event.

Right.

I heard you chose to do clubs. What was the reason for your choice?

I wanted to challenge myself.

Because I like to challenge myself to do new things.

She's awesome.

I think that's why your performance was as impressive as it was.

Thank you.

Actually, when I was practicing for this, I ate a lot and

I got a lot of massages because I had body aches. With the company credit card.

The company credit card?

So if I made any mistakes during my performance, I can't face the CEO.

I think I should leave the company.

But I didn't make any big mistake, so I don't have to leave.

Okay, thank you.

We're expecting a high score because she had a lot of difficult moves.

- That's right. - I wonder what her score will be.

Here's her score.

12.25! She's currently number one!

- Amazing. - No penalties, 8.20 for execution.

She's currently number one! Amazing, isn't it?

Practice makes perfect. Yes.

- No wonder she won the silver last year. - She was good.

I think it would be difficult even for Cheng Xiao to get 12.25.

Alright, let's meet our fourth participant.

(YooA from Oh My Girl)

(YooA, the girl who opened Pandora's Box)

(The rhythmical choreography is her strength)

(It's her first time doing Rhythmic gymnastics)

(She never stops smiling)

It's so hard...

(But her passion is top class)

Yes! There you go.

I will show you the movements of a fairy at the stadium.

I found a fairy!

I can do it!

YooA from Oh My Girl.

YooA is famous for smiling all the time.

- Yes, she is a fairy. - Yes.

I heard she never stopped smiling during practice.

She's a perfectionist.

So she does her best during practice.

Don't be nervous.

(The ribbon moves as if it's drawing the musical notes)

- She dropped it. - It's okay.

She's calmly continuing on with her performance.

- She will be penalized for the mistake. - Yes, but...

- It's okay. She keeps going-- - That's right.

She has to focus.

(She drops the ribbon again)

That was her second mistake.

(She quickly picks up the rhythm)

Her movements and her musical sense is great.

- I like her expressions. - Yes.

Checking it... Yes, good.

(YooA seems confident)

- The mastery. Good. - She did it.

(She seems warmed up now)

(Pulls off mastery again)

- There was a kick. - Yes, that was good.

(She stays calm and finishes well)

- That was great. - YooA from Oh My Girl.

- She's very good with the ribbon. - Yes.

- The ribbon doesn't get tangled. - How pretty.

- She's very flexible. - And her performance was beautiful.

- Right. She had good expressions. - Yes.

She didn't get too nervous after the mistakes either.

- So, YooA. - Yes.

You made a couple of mistakes, but

you stayed calm and your performance was stable and balanced.

At first I was very nervous because it was my first time doing rhythmic gymnastics.

But I tried to stay calm because if I get nervous,

I wouldn't be able to do what I actually can do.

YooA's score...

Here it is.

10.20!

- That's a high score. - It is.

Good work, YooA.

Now, let's meet our next participant.

(MINA from TWICE)

(MINA, a doll who lives in the world of fantasy)

She used to be a ballerina, and as expected, she's nice and accurate.

The DER--

(She came in sixth because of her mistakes)

I feel so sorry for her...

(She cried because she could have done better)

(No more mistakes)

(She practices hard for a perfect performance)

I'll enjoy myself so that there won't be any regrets.

I won't T.T. I can do it!

MINA from TWICE.

It's MINA from TWICE.

MINA is actually Cheng Xiao's rival from the beginning.

We expected it to be the biggest match last year.

- Yes, that's right. - But she had a lot of regrets.

Because she made quite a few mistakes.

She's chose the ball.

She threw it...

- Good. - Yes. The DER.

She threw it...

- Good. - Yes. The DER.

- That was great. - She pulls it off.

I hope she stays calm and doesn't make mistakes.

(She did ballet for 11 years)

- Good. Pivot. - She does the pivot.

Her movements are so soft and light, just like a ballerina's.

Right.

She is the only one who did the balance like that.

She was great.

- That was a difficult move. - She can't make a mistake here.

(As if the ball is part of her body)

(As if the telescope is part of his body)

That's what MINA's good at.

That's what MINA's good at. Fouette balance. That was great.

She did it.

She hasn't made any mistakes so far.

(Her performance is going smoothly with no mistakes)

That was great!

- She looks like a doll in a music box. - Very flexible, isn't she?

She's doing the steps very well.

Pivot.

Yes, fouette pivot. Triple pirouette, very good.

- She did the triple pirouette. - The last one--

(She succeeds)

MINA does it!

And that's it!

- How about that? - That was wonderful.

I was a bit worried when I saw her rehearse.

Because she's so good, I really didn't want her to make a mistake.

She was incredible.

Last season, she cried because of the mistake.

She will cry tears of joy today.

- DER. - That was clean.

- Her movement is soft. - She's very flexible.

Her body is trained with ballet.

She's doing the arabesque penche.

MINA is the only one who showed the technique this year.

She's practiced ballet for 11 years.

This looks like an official Olympic game.

- That's our goal. - The standard is getting higher.

She got the ball with one hand accurately.

Her manager seems very satisfied with her performance.

Cheng Xiao chose you as the rival she fears the most.

Yes,

I saw Cheng Xiao doing her rehearsal earlier. She did lots of advanced moves.

I'm not sure who's going to win. I don't know.

At present, Cao Lu has the highest score at 12.25.

It's a neck-and-neck game.

Will MINA get higher score than that?

- She didn't make a single mistake. - That's right.

I expect her to receive a very high score.

Let's see the result.

They got the same score! It's 12.25!

She got the same score as Cao Lu's.

They are tied for the first place.

The Idol Athlete Championship follows informal rules,

so we will admit a tie score.

This is such an exciting match.

Cheng Xiao will feel the pressure.

That's right.

But Cheng Xiao has a really strong mentality.

I believe in her.

But as no one can know how things will turn out in sports, I'm not sure what will happen.

I didn't expect to see such a tight match in Rhythmic Gymnastics.

If nobody beats their score, they will both get the gold medals.

All right. Let's watch Cheng Xiao's performance.

(The queen of gymnastics has come back)

Cheng Xiao wins the gold medal!

Congratulations.

Cosmic Girls!

She really is the queen of gymnastics.

She's using a hoop this time.

Many other participants pointed Cheng Xiao as the strongest rival.

I'll do my best to show a better performance than the last one.

Cosmic Girls, Cheng Xiao.

She's the star born from this show, Idol Stars Athletics Championship.

The audience is going wild at her entrance.

It's as if she were entered wearing a champion belt.

She looks like a goddess.

- She looks powerful. - She does.

I heard that she wants to compete in the regular gymnastics game.

Regardless of the result, I am really looking forward to her performance.

- She's wearing really dazzling leotards. - Hers are the most glamorous so far.

(Everyone's eyes are on her)

(She's trying to ease her mind)

(King of Ambition Main Title)

(Oh No)

(Manager: Kim Kang-hyo)

(A critical mistake)

Hurry!

This isn't good.

- It's okay. - Be calm.

It's okay. She can still compensate with other techniques.

(She makes another mistake)

There was another mistake.

She did DER successfully.

She did DER successfully.

That's very difficult to catch.

Another DER.

Another DER. She caught with her feet. It's an advanced technique.

She did DER in a row.

- That was amazing. - Apparatus Mastery.

(She continues to show advanced moves)

What's that move?

That's another mastery move that requires her to rotate the hoop around her neck and throw it with her body.

It's Apparatus Mastery.

- She succeeded. - It's incredible.

Those are the techniques we see only in the professional game.

She's prepared lots of difficult moves.

I think she'll be able to compensate the loss of scores from her earlier mistake.

- Hold it tightly. - Just incredible.

It's amazing.

- The last move! - She made it!

She showed the techniques we don't see often in an amateurs' game.

I feel so bad about her earlier mistakes even more so now.

Her performance constitutes movements that are on the level of professionals.

There were so many moves that I've never seen.

She rotated the hoop using her legs and moved her body through it.

- This is where she made the mistake. - She was supposed to go through the hoop.

- But that movement is really-- - But she stepped out of bounds.

That's true. Both she and her apparatus were out of bounds.

She just succeeded in two rotations of DER.

It shows how flexible she is.

It's like watching an Olympic game.

She used a body part other than her hand to catch the apparatus. It's mastery.

It happened so fast that I thought it was magic.

She did great during the rehearsal.

I feel bad for her.

She must have felt a lot of pressure.

How are you? Are you disappointed?

Very much so.

I thought I did well during the rehearsal.

(The last practice before the game)

(She made it easily)

(She's done it without a single mistake)

(It was a perfect performance)

(Going wild)

Cheng Xiao! Cheng Xiao!

I think I felt a lot of pressure from the anticipation built up.

I understand.

I feel so bad that I can barely speak.

She worked really hard for it.

And because she included so many difficult moves,

which strains her back and waist a lot,

and I can imagine how painful it must have been.

She went through a lot and felt the pain only gymnasts know.

She tried really hard for this.

I feel so bad.

I'd like to compliment Cheng Xiao for challenging herself.

Because she's so good, she could have won the gold medal if she had done the usual stuff.

Instead, she pushed herself and incorporated difficult moves to create a better performance. .

- She pushed her limit. - That's right.

Her performance includes many advanced moves.

Her performance raised the standard of the Idol Star Athlete Championship.

So many people are cheering for her.

We still don't know what will happen.

Cosmic Girls, Cheng Xiao!

Please show the result.

(She made mistakes in a row in the beginning)

DER! That was excellent!

DER and Mastery!

Those are all advanced techniques.

Those moves can compensate for the score loos from the earlier mistakes.

Now we will reveal the score of

Cheng Xiao, Cosmic Girls.

11.

It's so close. 11 is a high score.

They deducted 0.6 pts for her mistake.

- Because she stepped out bounds. - Right.

But she showed us an amazing performance.

Everyone's giving her a round of applause.

She did great!

Yuju, Yein, Cao Lu,

YooA, MINA, Cheng Xiao, everyone did such a great job.

Good job everyone.

Cheng Xiao was great.

- They worked really hard. - She's tearing up.

YooA worked really hard too.

Don't cry.

They have been holding down those tears.

(For one and half month)

(sometimes they were discouraged...)

(sometimes they wanted to give up)

(They wanted to give a great performance for their fans)

Their members must be so proud of them.

I hear it's hard to suppress crying when it's all done because of all the hard work.

It's a mixed feeling.

(To the athletes who gave a gift of beautiful one and half minute)

(We would like to thank them)

Now we will announce the result of the gymnastics game.

The gold medal goes to both Cao Lu and MINA.
