in Orlando.

This will grow to be about 10 feet long

and weigh around 1,000 pounds.

His life expectancy is about 50 years,

but manatees as a species are endangered.

Less than 2,000 remain in the wild.

Rescue programs like seaworld's

aim to help repopulate the ocean

with these gentle creatures.
