- [Nikiya] So you're a developer, and you probably have

a good understanding of how to code,

maybe even in a few programming languages.

You just got access to a database

and want to use it to make the most out of that data.

Maybe you want to show a real-time graph on your website

or some of your analysts have asked for a dashboard

to use for some decision-making.

You need a way to blend your programming experience

with accessing that database, and maybe you've heard

of this thing called sequel, or is it S-Q-L?

In this course we'll cover the basics of SQL

and how to access a relational database.

We'll learn how to ask the right questions of the data,

how to weed out data that may be difficult

or just bad to use,

we'll talk about some common SQL functions

and how they work, and then we'll use our skills

to add visualizations into a web development project.
