This is Cairo Station, the heart of the capital.

Every minute, a train departs, and every minute, another one arrives.

Thousands of people meet, thousands of others bid farewell.

People from North and South, natives and foreigners,

the rich and the poor, people with jobs and people without them.

I am Madbouli, the newsagent, and this is my news-stand.

My job allows me to read about strange incidents,

but what I see here is often even stranger.

And the strangest thing of all happened one day after midday prayer.

I saw a poor fellow lying on the platform.

A young man like many others I see here every day.

They leave their families and homes

and come to Cairo, seeking riches and happiness.

I asked him his name, but he didn't answer.

I turned to go, but I noticed he was lame.

I felt sorry for him, so I gave him a job selling papers.

His name was Kenawi.

I found him a shed near the railway to live in.

One day, I went to his shed to see how he was doing.

That's when I realized he was frustrated.

So frustrated that he had become obsessed.

Poor Kenawi. How could anyone have foreseen his end?

The train for Alexandria leaves platform four

on schedule at 7:30.

The train for Alexandria leaves platform four...

Wow! What a hot number!

- Hurry up. - Yes, hurry up!

- We're going to miss the train. - Calm down.

- Hey, I'm talking to you. - Speak up, then!

I don't sell tickets to Zagazig, only to Alexandria.

That's so confusing! Let me pass! Let me pass!

- Stop, girl! - Kenawi!

- Stop, girl! - Kenawi!

Keep this pail for me!

It's so hot today, girls.

May God make it hotter so that we can sell more soft drinks!

But the only one who will profit is the buffet owner, Mansour.

We can barely make a living because of Mansour.

- Doesn't he make enough of a profit? - That man's never satisfied.

Quiet, or he'll show up and hear you.

Let him. This is our own buffet, or is he the only one who owns it?

Move.

- What's wrong, Hanuma? - That pig, Mansour.

- Did he catch you? - No.

He sent Sergeant Hassanain after me.

- Where's your pail? - With Kenawi.

- With your sweetheart, you mean. - I wouldn't look twice at him.

He's madly in love with you.

He's saving up all his money to marry you.

Why don't you marry him then, Aziza?

I wouldn't look twice at him.

You're leading him on.

I'd never do that! Anyway, I'm engaged to Abu Serih.

He knows you are. But he thinks you'd dump Abu Serih for him.

- Run for it! - Who is it?

- Zakzouk! - Here they are! I've found them!

I've found the market's demonic thieves.

- Hands off. - Don't be so greedy.

I've been working for ten days and haven't made so much as a piastre.

Wait for your turn to work on this platform.

My turn? I don't have the money to bribe your boss.

What do you mean?

You have to bribe him if you want to work on this platform.

Watch your tongue. Our boss Abu Gaber isn't as bad as Abu Serih.

That's it! Get out of my way or I'll kill you! I swear, I'll kill you!

Let go or I'll break your hand.

- Excuse me. - What is it?

- What's your name? - Abu Serih.

For God's sake, Abu Serih, may God praise you, please help me.

I can't put up with this mess any longer.

- What's your problem? - The train to Zagazig.

- What about it? - I can't find it.

- It's this one! - What?

If you run, you can catch it in the next town!

It's disgraceful that it's leaving without us! Disgraceful!

My hand! Someone Help me!

Abbas, you're all right.

- Come with me, Abbas. - I can't bear the pain.

He'll be fine, thank God.

Why must we always fight among ourselves?

Here's the boss with Gadallah.

Mind your own business, Abu Serih.

If you don't like it, leave!

If he forms a union, you'll be ruined.

Why this insolence? Tell me what you want!

To secure our common interest.

Only a union will ensure us all a decent living.

You can't be satisfied with things the way they are!

Last week, Rizq broke his leg. Now he's destitute.

Sabry has been ill for a month, nobody cares.

And now, look at Abbas. How can Abbas work with a broken hand?

I'm telling you, only a union can protect us and secure our jobs!

A union? What union, kiddo?

- I am the union, I am everything! - That's why everything's going wrong!

If you're not satisfied, you can leave, no one's stopping you.

Your scare tactics don't work any more, times have changed.

Is that so? As sure as this moustache is mine,

I'll get you fired!

Yell your head off if you want. Come on, Abbas.

Subhan Allah. Give it to me, God bless you.

Where's Kenawi, father?

- How are you, Abu Serih? - All is well, thanks to God, Madbouli.

Oh god! It's hot as hell today.

- Oh god! - How is your plan for a union coming?

The government labour official is coming to see us today.

Congratulations! And I hear you're to be married tomorrow, too!

It will be your son's turn soon.

You have to grow up fast, boy.

Thank you. You've done well, Hanuma is a good girl.

I didn't intend to get married, you know. It just happened.

- All will be for the best. Be strong. - I am that.

And once I've set up the union, I'll have no more worries.

- God is great. - When will you get married, Limpy?

Stop it, Tulba.

I'm just kidding. Do you really think he'd ever get married?

Why not? Why shouldn't he?

Maybe. If he finds a girl who limps too.

Have pity, Tulba. Don't be so cruel to him.

- He doesn't mind. - Yes, he does.

Only God knows how much! He does mind.

For my sake, be nice to him.

I know that it upsets him!

Kenawi! Don't forget to call out the "Rasheed Murder" headlines.

- Tulba. - Yes.

- Must she really be lame? - You'll get along better if she is!

- What if she only has one eye? - That would do.

Then how about your sister?

- I told you he doesn't mind. - Strong words, Kenawi.

Leave me now.

Do you have a coin for the phone?

Merci.

Don't mind Tulba, Kenawi. It's good that you have a big heart.

TELEPHONE BOOTH

Your sister answered, so I didn't give my name.

You'll be away for four years. I have to see you before you go.

I have to. You must find a way.

I'll wait for you at the station.

Find any excuse! I'm expecting you, darling.

The Sheben El Kom train leaves...

If I see one of those girls here again, you're finished.

What can I do about it?

How is everything, Zakzouk?

How do you think it is, with those girls around, jumping on trains?

Come on, Tulba, come on.

Wait on! I didn't get all the glass bottles back.

Damn you!

Hallawatim! Watch out for the police.

- I'll shout "Fagafigo" if I see them. - And I'll run.

- Hanuma! Hanuma! - Yes

Wait till I get my pail back from Kenawi.

Hallawatim, wait for me!

Oh, quit your shouting.

- Who's the worst of us? - The nerve of you!

Come on, run, Hanuma! Run!

Cold drinks! Anyone for a cold drink?

Cold drinks! How about a cold drink, sir?

Quench your thirst!

The police -Fagafigo!

The police is already back? Damn it.

Please hurry, sir, hurry.

I'll finish it for you.

- The change! - Get out of the way! Fagafigo!

- Get moving! - I'll go to jail for three months.

Look out, boy, the train! Get up!

That girl won't stop until a train hits her one of these days.

I thought you had something important to say.

She's like a cat, she's got nine lives.

- Porter! Porter! - I'm coming!

- What happened? - Hanuma nearly got run over.

Hanuma, I've saved three piastres for you.

- Why? - To bring you food in jail.

I'll repay you when you get a life sentence.

Why won't they leave us alone?

If it's not the police, then it's Mansour.

And when we get rid of him, Zakzouk comes after us.

That's just our bad luck.

Stop whining!

You have to stand up for yourselves and fight if you want to make a living!

Easy to say when you've got a man like Abu Serih.

There's a man to turn you on.

Watch your language, the kid is listening.

I wouldn't mind changing places with you.

Go and get my trunk ready, I've got to pack.

- Don't go. - Hurrying to somewhere?

Yes. I'll be away for a few days, and when I come back, I'll be Mrs. Abu Serih.

Take that!

Damn you!

Pussy! Come here, puss. Come on.

My cute kitty cat.

What are you doing here?

Don't be scared.

I just want you to be more careful around the trains.

- Get out! Get out, right now! - I brought you your pail.

Don't scream!

- Help! Help! - I just want to tell you something.

Just one thing.

Let go of my hand.

Let go!

- Let me kiss it. - Let go, you're crazy!

Abu Serih will teach you a lesson for that!

All of you are witnesses!

Follow him! Throw stones at him!

Come, Ahmed. Come on, Ali.

Pass me a stone to hit him.

Hit him!

Let's go back.

Look out.

- Give us a smile, sweet lady. - Nice drinks here!

I wonder who the little lady is waiting for.

- Come and have a drink, doll face. - Go after her.

Juice? Juice? Juice? Juice?

- On me. - Don't be so disappointed, beautiful!

Porter!

- Come on, carry. - Give them to me, Gadallah.

We've taken his luggage, madam.

- Come on, madam. - Where are the lockers?

The languages will be on the platform at five o'clock.

- Take care of the luggage. - Yes, madam.

Take care of the young man's luggage.

Of course.

- Don't be late, mother is expecting you. - But I've said goodbye to her already.

You're not seeing her again before you leave?

I can't, I've a date.

You should be ashamed of yourself,au revoir.

Don't forget, just be here at five o'clock.

The morning paper.

Give me five piastres change.

Soft drinks, anyone?

You gave me too much change!

- Hanuma. Hanuma! - What?

Hey, not so quick, we can walk together.

I don't have all year.

Do you want to race?

You're much faster.

- Let me help you. - Just leave me alone.

- I wish I could. - So why don't you?

- I just wanted to tell you... - Why must you always follow me around?

- I must tell you something. - Don't waste your breath.

- It's very important to me. - No! I won't listen!

- Just let me say it. - Go ahead then.

Go on, spit it out already!

Hanuma?

- Hanuma! - What now?

Do you like this?

Show me.

- Did you steal it? - I didn't steal it. It was my mother's.

- Then it must be fake. - It's gold, I swear.

Try it on, try it on.

- It's really beautiful. - It's an engagement present.

- Will it prick my neck? - You accept, then?

- It's a little flashy. - Answer me.

- What are you mumbling about? - I'm asking you to marry me.

- Just like that? - Well?

- Find yourself another girl. - But I want you.

Why do you want me?

You're on my mind, all the time.

Think it over. I love you so much.

I'll take good care of you.

You're...

You're more beautiful than this picture.

No, you're the pretty one.

Then what?

We'll get married and go back to my village.

I'll say, "Look at her, she's my wife"

- You'll be the loveliest woman there. - Of course.

I'll build you a house overlooking the water.

- Must it overlook the water? - Far from the trains and the noise.

I've got quite used to the trains and the noise.

Crowds confuse me. We'll live far from other people.

We'll work the land, keep some cows,

- and live happily ever after... - And have little boys and girls.

- We'll be kind to them. - Of course! Who isn't?

Anyway, and then what?

Go on! The kids will grow up, get married,

- and have kids of their own. - What? Hanuma!

Stop dreaming, you're wasting my time. Do you want a soft drink?

- I'm being serious. - Serious?

Come on, a home and some cows. You call that a serious offer?

You don't have a penny to your name.

- So what? - So what?

Be sensible, be practical.

I work hard for a living, selling drinks.

And what do you do? You wander around the station selling newspapers.

- Enough! - Stop this nonsense, now.

- I work hard and make good money. - You call the pennies you make a living?

- Look at Abu Serih. - I'm worth ten of him!

Listen! I am going to marry him.

And you don't stand a chance against a man like him, Limpy!

Don't shout at me! Don't shout.

What's the matter, Kenawi?

- Give me back the necklace. - So uncouth!

- Give it back! - Take it!

Give it back. You don't... deserve it.

Don't be so sad.

Marriages are made in Heaven.

Kenawi, Kenawi.

Cold beverages.

My father is asking for you. Come on, quickly.

Are you trying to compete with me?

- Just let me earn my living. - You both work here, don't you?

- And he was here first. - Yes, but he's been suspended.

- Says who? - Says me.

- Times have changed. - The train won't wait while you argue!

Please, let's go.

Come on, sir, don't get mad.

- I dare them to stop me. - That's brave!

The nerve of that man.

- He's got powerful people backing him. - Who?

The government official who was with him earlier.

If you don't fight back, he'll get his way around here.

- What can I do? - Find a solution.

He acts, while all you do is talk.

Do you think an upstart like him can destroy me?

I don't know what to think!

God protect us.

All these new-fangled ideas lead straight to hell.

- Curse be these modern idiocies. - God protect us.

- Hurry. - God protect us.

- Have you got change? - Just give it to me.

- Thank you, Madbouli. - Thanks be to God.

Would you like some tea?

Then we can see what's new in the Rasheed murder case.

Listen to this, listen to this.

"The Body in the Trunk, by our reporter in Rasheed.

The bloodstained trunk was discovered in Rasheed station by a porter.

The woman inside had been mutilated, and was missing her head and arms.

The coroner's report states

that the murderer used either a saw or a butcher's knife to do it."

- God protect us. - He cut her with a saw?

- He cut her to pieces. - And he put her in a trunk?

- Incredible, isn't it? - Did they catch the killer?

They don't have a clue yet. He seems to have vanished.

Where are you going? What about your tea?

- I'll take that! - What's going on?

- And this too! - Taking my money already?

- We need to save up for the wedding. - But that's everything I made today!

I'm afraid you'll spend it.

Don't worry, I know the value of the money I earn.

You can have this.

- On second thoughts... - And you'll spend the rest?

Just on buying cigarettes. Go, now.

Here are your cigarettes. I'll take that.

Stop working and go home.

I don't want to see you running around the station.

- Actually... - What?

I came to complain about Kenawi.

You want to make a complaint? Surely, it's the other way around.

The conductor, Sergeant Hassanain, Zakzouk...

They complain about you night and day. Why can't you behave?

- Kenawi went too far today. - I'm sure it was your fault.

I didn't do anything.

I'm going to tell you something, so listen up.

Kenawi is mad.

Ask Madbouli, he'll tell you.

A kind word can win him over, just like a child.

But a mean word can make him go crazy. Who knows what's he's capable of?

Now I've warned you, off you go.

Seventeen, 18, 19 bottles, curse you! Twenty, 21...

...23, 86!

Belia, watch my stand for me.

- Damn you. - Give me a paper.

What's wrong with him?

And she's dancing, too.

What's going on?

- I'm going to kill you! - Please forgive me, Abu Serih!

Oh, my hair!

I won't do it again, please!

- Please, don't hurt her. - Leave me alone, I'm really angry.

I'll never do it again, I promise.

He's a bully. May God punish him.

- Who does he think he is? - Everybody's boss.

Let's go.

- I'll kill you! - I'll never do it again!

- Didn't I tell you not to go out for work? - I won't do it again.

I'm going to kill you!

Hit her! Hit her! Hit her! Hit her!

Please, that's enough.

You dare disobey me?

- I would never disobey you. - So why did you go back to work?

Why did you go back to the platform?

I wanted to make some extra money for the wedding.

We don't need any more money, we'll marry on the cheap.

We have to get married at my aunt's! I'm no street urchin!

That's not what I meant.

What did you mean?

I'll send Kenawi with my trunk so you can put it on the train.

But don't break anything.

Read all about it! Read all about it! Mutilated body in a trunk!

What do you want?

This one costs 15 piastres.

Here you go.

What's that, Kenawi?

Where have you been? I need a favour.

Tell the men that the government official is coming at five o'clock.

I want everyone on the Port Said platform.

Are you angry with me, Kenawi?

Hanuma said you were upset that I pushed you.

I'm sorry.

GLASS

- Abu Lhes. Abu Lhes. Abu Lhes! - What's wrong?

- That man was staring at me. - What? Where?

Watch out!

- What's your name? - Kenawi.

- Kenawi? Take this! And that! - Enough!

- Help! Help! - You dare staring at my wife!

- Make way! - He was starring at me.

Stop it, man, he had enough.

He was staring at my wife!

He's a cripple, he meant no harm.

Your name is Kenawi? You're a disgrace to Kena!

- He was staring at me. Do something! - It's your fault!

Why did you remove your veil? Cover yourself up!

A word to the wise, don't turn against me.

We are all with you, Abu Gaber.

I'm warning you all, if any man here joins Abu Serih, he's finished.

- I'll see to it that he never works again. - You think you're God, do you, Abu Gaber?

Take it easy, they might believe you.

- Better than believing you! - Who made you our spokesman, anyway?

I speak up because I know I'm right. I want to help my co-workers.

We work our fingers to the bone yet only one person profits: Abu Gaber.

One person controls all of us.

Why can't we be independent? Why?

You're a smooth talker, Abu Serih.

It's a shame you can't make a living with words.

With you around, we can't make a living at all.

32 men have joined me so far.

We need 18 more to form a union. You're welcome to join us.

Hang on, you can't get your way by bullying us.

- You're the one who's the bully. - Ibrahim!

- Are you looking for trouble? - What's the matter?

He's trying to take over and form a union.

A union? Do you want the station to be total chaos?

Leave us alone, you already control the buffets.

If you leave Abu Gaber's command, you'll be penniless.

You'll be like those soft drink sellers on the trains.

I'll form a union for them as well.

- I'll have you thrown in jail if you do! - That's exactly where you belong!

- Let go of him! - Get lost!

You two are to blame!

You exploit the porters, and you, the drink sellers.

Let us make a decent living for God's sake!

The meeting is at five o'clock. You're free to do as you please.

- Abu Serih, I'm with you! - Good to have you!

- Us too! - That's it! That's it!

Kenawi, Hanuma will give you a trunk with her trousseau.

Can you take it to the warehouse, please? I'm busy with this union business.

My God, get a cart to carry that.

- You want to swap trunks? - No.

Please, Hanuma needs the big one to send her trousseau to Faqoos.

- I said no. - Don't be so stubborn.

Beat it!

I hope you drop dead and it be used as your coffin, Kenawi!

- Have you seen Hanuma? - Hanuma? She just left.

Find a way! Arrest her. Throw her in jail or something!

- I can't unless I catch her red-handed. - Great work, Hasanien.

Just you wait and see what's in store for you, Mansour.

Watch out!

The police are planning a raid! Clear out!

Let's run away.

The press are here, quick!

- Put on some rouge! - Get away!

ORGANIZATION OF WOMEN AGAINST MARRIAGE

- The new president? - Yes.

I'M FREE

Cheer for the champion of women's rights!

Give me four colas to celebrate the president.

One!

Two!

Three!

Four! Five!

- A question, please. - Yes?

What's your opinion on the submissiveness of the rural wife?

It's a shocking example of unprecedented subjugation.

Wonderful, would you pose for the cover of our magazine?

Yes, all right, though I hate publicity.

Come here, Kenawi. I've made 30 piastres so far.

You've got plenty of money.

- Want to buy the necklace? - The necklace? If the price is right.

- I am Hanuma, after all. - Consider it a gift.

A gift from Kenawi.

I accept.

I left it at the warehouse. Let's go get it.

- You think I was born yesterday? - Come.

Behave yourself.

Forewarned is forearmed.

And before I declare...

Red handed, with a pail in her hand.

What do you want? I don't have a pail!

- Where is Hanuma? - In my pocket!

Kenawi, take my pail, please.

- It they find it, I'm finished. - I'll wait for you in the warehouse.

- Again with the warehouse! - So I can give you the necklace.

Is it really necessary? Okay, you better go then.

Go, then!

- See you at the warehouse. - Okay, hurry.

- Here she is. - Get lost!

Why are you arresting her? She doesn't have anything!

- Why are you here then? - To greet our president!

- Lies! I saw her pail with my own eyes. - Go to hell!

You are a pain in the neck!

- Where's your pail? - I gave it to Kenawi to look after.

- He's taken it to the warehouse. - The warehouse?

- Please get it for me. - Get it yourself, don't be so lazy.

Kenawi keeps making eyes at me!

So you want me to go instead?

Do me a favour. Please go and get the pail, go on.

I'll wait for you in my "villa."

Villa!

Kenawi?

Strange! Kenawi!

Kenawi? Kenawi?

Kenawi?

Hurry up, Tulba.

This is a preliminary meeting.

We'll register your names to see if we have enough people to make it legal.

We will, with God's help.

May God hear our prayers. Hurry up, men.

Well done, Abu Serih!

I've done my duty. The government has come to us.

Come and sign your name, Gadallah, or are you waiting your turn?

- Be reasonable. - You'll see, Abu Serih.

You won't get away with this. Get lost!

What's wrong, Kenawi? Are you unwell?

Hanuma's trunk.

Where is the trunk?

- In the warehouse. - I'll come in five minutes.

Do what you have to do. The men will see to the rest.

Thank you, Madbouli. And thank you, too, Kenawi.

- Go and look after the news-stand. - Leave me alone! Leave me alone!

- I'm fed up of your news-stand! - What's wrong with him?

He's lost his head!

- Thank you, Gadallah. - No problem.

You're right, Abu Serih, we should be reasonable.

We must help one another.

I've thought it over and I've decided that I'm better off joining you.

You would be welcome. What's important is that we are united.

- What's in this trunk? - Hanuma's trousseau.

- Really? Congratulations on your marriage. - I hope you'll be next.

- We're closing up. - Just a minute!

- I said we're closing. - It's Hanuma's trunk.

Okay, but only because she's got nice eyes. Who'll claim it?

I hadn't thought about that!

- Aren't you going to Faqoos? - Of course.

Then you can claim it.

- When does the train leaves? - At six o'clock.

Thank you, Mr. Zaki.

Kenawi. Kenawi, my son.

Where have you been? What's wrong with you today?

- Nothing's wrong, why? - Where have you been?

Me?

The crate with the trousseau...

- The crate. - What crate are you talking about?

I put it on the train.

I mean, I put Hanuma on the train.

Hanuma.

We're going to be married.

No, I mean, we got married.

- Have you seen Hanuma? - No, thank God!

Go get Abu Serih immediately.

- If only I could find the pail. - What pail?

- The evidence with which to nail her! - God have mercy on this day.

God protect us...

Something is odd here. Why was Kenawi looking for Abu Serih?

What's the story with this trunk?

When does the freight train leave?

At six o'clock. In five minutes.

Tell Abu Serih to load the trunk, the train leaves in five minutes.

Where are you going?

- To get my pail from Kenawi. - Mansour And Zakzouk will catch you.

Let them try!

Hanuma.

You came back.

Come and see. Come and see.

I've prepared your trousseau.

A brass bed.

And a wardrobe with three mirrors,

and an Ottoman sofa.

Everything is set for the wedding. Now we can go to my village,

so... I can proudly tell everybody...

"This is my wife!"

I'll build you a nice little house by the sea, remember?

We'll raise our children there.

Far away from other people, far from the crowds.

Hanuma!

So, you think I'm a fool! You think I'm crazy!

This time you won't get away!

I'll kill you! I'll kill you!

I'm worried about Kenawi. He's been acting strangely all day.

He did seem strange when he came to give me the trunk.

- Hanuma's trunk? - Here's her trunk, Abu Serih.

Hurry, the train's about to depart.

- Where's Hanuma? - Looking for her pail.

Where are you going now?

Get Hanuma! Fast!

Come on! Do I look like your maid?

Do as I say and get Hanuma!

So, Abu Serih interests you now?

- Don't be stupid. - Explain.

If I pull off my plan, he'll be ruined.

What's this?

It's blood, from Abu Serih's trunk.

Who did this? Was it Kenawi? Kenawi?

- Call an ambulance! - Okay!

Pussy! Come here, puss!

Here she is, Sergeant Hassanain! Here she is!

Here is the pail! Here is the pail!

This isn't fair! He threw the pail down in front of me!

I saw the pail myself. Take her to the officer!

Kenawi! Help me, Kenawi!

- Let's go! - Help me, Kenawi!

With a knife!

- There's Abu Serih. - Let Kenawi go!

Are you trying to pin the blame on him? You put Hallawatim in the trunk.

That's right, Abu Serih.

Abu Serih? Who are you? Who is this?

- Get the men together, fast. - Yes, sir.

TELEPHONE BOOTH

Let her go now, Mansour.

Hands off, guys. Scram! Scram!

Go to hell.

Come out.

I need my pail, where is it?

Hurry up! The train is about to leave.

Hurry up!

Hanuma is in danger.

- She'll be killed, I tell you! - Don't pretend you're worried!

- Try to understand! - Enough! Enough!

Madbouli, come here! Madbouli! Madbouli!

Kenawi has gone mad. He was the one who stabbed Hallawatim!

- That's what I've been saying! - Kenawi, the paper boy?

- Yes! - Yes!

Him?

The poor boy has gone out of his mind! You've got to call the asylum.

He's lured Hanuma to the railway-yard.

- The yard? - Let's go.

Hurry and make sure he doesn't hurt her!

Kenawi is going to kill Hanuma! Kenawi is going to kill Hanuma!

It's finally getting cooler.

What's wrong?

- Why are you still here? - Where do you want me to go?

Tomorrow, we'll go to my village.

- And tomorrow, we'll get married. - We'll get away from all this confusion.

You know... I'll miss this station.

But it is for the best.

- Are you happy, Hanuma? - Very happy.

And I hope you find someone who'll make you happy.

I've got all my stuff, except for the pail.

- Abu Serih said... - Abu Serih killed Hallawatim.

What? What did you say?

And he wants to take your savings.

- Are you crazy? - I won't let him touch you.

He loves me, he's going to marry me.

No, I'd kill him first.

Or you.

Is that so?

Are you jealous, Kenawi?

Clear the railway yard.

A murderer with a knife is on the loose.

All policemen in the vicinity are to proceed to the yard immediately.

All policemen in the vicinity are to proceed to the yard immediately.

Head him off from the other direction.

Hanuma. Hanuma. Hanuma!

Hanuma!

- Hanuma! - Abu Serih. Abu Serih!

Signal the driver to stop the train! Stop the train!

The train will kill them!

Turn on the spot lights.

No, wait!

Come any closer and I'll kill her! Leave us alone!

Let Madbouli go, he knows how to talk to him.

Go to him.

Kenawi, Kenawi, my son.

Answer me, I'm your father, Madbouli.

Why are you so upset? I'll let you marry Hanuma.

Her dowry is in my pocket.

We can have the wedding tonight. But first, get off the rails.

Kenawi, Kenawi, my son.

Tonight is your wedding night, I'll be one of your witnesses.

I'll throw a big wedding for you, I'm talking about your wedding, Kenawi.

Don't you believe me?

Let her lie here and rest for a while.

Come along with me.

Put on your wedding costume. It's your wedding, son, your wedding.

It'll be the best wedding ever.

There will be music, lights, singing.

Get up, I only want what's best for you.

Come, put this on.

Come on, that's my boy. Put your arms in the sleeves.

There you go.

Good. Now the other sleeve.

Stand tall, bridegroom.

Kenawi, my son, the bridegroom.

No! No!

Madbouli, don't leave me! Don't leave me!

Madbouli! Madbouli!

Hanuma! Hanuma!

I'll show you all.
