Can you...

reinstate my father?

Tell me another wish. Are you in need of anything?

I can give you all the riches you need.

I want nothing other than...

the recovery of my father's honor.

(Episode 15)

Your Majesty, what is the matter?

I just wanted to do something for her...

and I ended up hurting her even deeper.

I bet...

she is somewhere crying right now.

If I could go and comfort her...

If only I could...

What are you doing here?

I heard what had happened and went to the herbal store.

I was told you would be here.

Are you here out of concern for me?

Yes.

Well...

I am glad you seem to be all right.

Let us go.

The head of the Bureau of Water Supply may come after you again,

so I will escort you home.

Do you have something to say to me?

I heard you went to the palace because His Majesty called for you.

Did you meet His Majesty?

Yes, I did.

How...

How was he doing? How did he seem?

Regretfully,

he seems to be doing well.

But...

is that all...

you wanted to say?

Is that man Chun Soo?

Is he really the Chief Peddler?

He looks so much like him.

You think so too, right?

But...

Chun Soo wouldn't pretend not to know you.

Are both of your parents alive?

No.

You poor dear. Are you all alone?

Then she will not have to live with her in-laws.

Peddlers...

make enough to feed their families.

Do you want to date Ga Eun?

Hey.

Why are you saying stupid things?

I will take care of this.

- Hey. - Okay, then.

I shall get going.

Thank you for escorting me home.

Ga Eun.

His Majesty...

brought a woman into his greenhouse?

She sells medicinal herbs to the royal physician.

I hear His Majesty asked her...

to grow medicinal herbs in the greenhouse.

He has never once...

even looked at all the palace maids.

Look into that child. Discreetly.

Yes, Your Highness.

The King let a woman into his greenhouse.

She sells medicinal herbs to the royal physician.

It does not look like the Queen Dowager's doing?

Seeing how Court Lady Han is asking around, I do not think so.

- Listen. - Yes, master.

Let the King meet with that girl freely...

for the time being.

As for you.

Find out about her siblings,

as well as if there...

was a boy around the King's age who went missing.

Look into it.

Yes, master.

Master Kim has returned.

How could you lose the copper?

I do not know how he knew,

but Adjunct Park showed up with the royal army.

You pathetic loser.

Are you telling me you were entrapped by Adjunct Park?

So? Where is the copper?

Well... That is...

Adjunct Park is bringing it up to the capital.

Figure out what path he is taking.

Second State Councilor.

Get me the authority to produce currency...

before the copper reaches the capital.

- Yes, master! - Yes, master!

Master Kim.

Do whatever it takes to get the copper back.

If you fail,

you must step down as head of Pyunsoo Group.

Do you understand?

Do you understand?

Yes, master.

Yes. Yes, master.

I shall do as you say.

Adjunct Park is bringing copper?

How fortuitous.

Not yet. It is too soon.

Dae Mok...

plans to receive authority to produce currency...

before the copper reaches the capital.

I shall do what I can to stop him.

You must send soldiers to help Adjunct Park.

Pardon?

He must bring the copper safely into the capital.

However, if I do,

Dae Mok will not spare my life.

We must make sacrifices.

The fate of the nation is at stake.

If I bring the copper, Dae Mok will kill me.

But if I do not,

the Queen Dowager will have my head.

My lord,

the Chief Peddler wishes to see you.

The Chief Peddler? Why?

Tell him I am here about the copper.

The copper?

If I hand you the copper,

what will you give me in return?

I heard it was Adjunct Park...

who raided the illegal exchange.

That is correct.

However, I am the person transporting the copper.

My dear.

I considered working with the Queen Dowager.

I guess not.

I shall head to Master Dae Mok...

Wait.

What is it you want?

Give me the position of Minister of Personnel.

If you give me your word,

I will send the copper to the Ministry of Finance in two weeks.

The Queen Dowager will never agree.

I wonder if Master Dae Mok...

will say the same.

My terms are the same, regardless of to whom I deliver the copper.

I want the position of Minister of Personnel.

He wants the position of Minister of Personnel?

Yes. He says if we agree, he will send the copper...

to the Ministry of Finance within two weeks.

Did you look into him?

Is he someone we can trust?

Not long ago,

he unified the peddlers, who were difficult to deal with,

and now, even the large merchants hold him in high esteem.

We cannot believe all the rumors floating around,

but they say he is a man who keeps his word.

Thus, I believe he can be trusted.

He is a man who keeps his word?

Yes, Your Highness. Why do you not work with him first?

What if he goes to Dae Mok and gives him the copper?

Fine.

I will buy time.

Tell him to bring the copper within two weeks.

You asked the Queen Dowager to give you that position?

Yes. The Minister of Personnel has authority over personnel,

so it will help in planting loyal people who will...

fight Pyunsoo Group.

That is a great plan,

but you will go there yourself?

You will be too visible.

Yes. I cannot go. Hence,

I came to ask you.

I refuse.

Master.

I swore when I left my position,

that I will live for the people, not my title.

No matter what anyone says,

I will not break my oath.

If you meet the King in the palace,

will we become rich?

Do you want to become rich?

Yes. Then you and mom will not have to suffer.

Goodness. Worry about yourself.

If the medicinal herb store's daughter cannot find herbs,

we will not become rich.

I came to escort you.

You may have me do these things from now on.

Is this everything?

Yes.

Nanny, I will be back soon.

Okay.

Ga Eun.

Give this to the King.

What?

I heard from a lady in the market...

that nothing beats winning favor with someone high up.

Why you...

The King does not need things like this.

I shall bring it to him.

You are a smart one.

I heard the head of the Bureau threatened you.

You must report to me if that happens again.

You...

do not need to mind this.

I...

I have...

something to ask of you.

You said...

it was a mistake that you beheaded my father.

How can you not fix that mistake?

Why...

can you not recover my father's honor?

I want to know the reason.

I cannot...

answer you now.

I will give you the answer one day.

Wait a little more.

It is all right even if it is just for a moment.

I wish I was a real king.

Are you Han Ga Eun?

That is right.

I hear you are taking care of the King's greenhouse.

Yes, Your Highness.

What is your status?

Tell me your father's name.

My father is...

the one...

who was beheaded five years ago.

He is Deputy Magistrate Han.

- Court Lady Han. - Yes, Your Highness.

Go and ask the King to come over here.

Yes, Your Highness.

Your Majesty.

Listen...

very carefully to what I am about to say now.

I plan...

to recover your father's honor...

and to announce his innocence.

Her father was a loyal official.

It was your mistake to punish someone like him.

Do you understand?

Yes, Mother.

A few months later, we will be releasing the prisoners...

to celebrate my birthday.

That day, I will announce your father's innocence.

Your Highness.

Your Highness.

I shall never forget your mercy until the day I die.

Queen Dowager is...

different from the King.

I am thinking of...

bringing her to the palace as court lady for you.

What do you think?

- I... - Soon,

she will be positioned as the fourth-rank court lady.

Your Highness.

I am worried of one thing.

It is that she is the daughter of the criminal.

There will be opposition...

if we take her in as court lady.

I shall recover her father's honor...

and...

make her court lady for you.

Look.

I am willing to sacrifice everything for your sake.

But why are you still...

holding Dae Mok's hands instead of mine?

That is not true.

Is that so?

Then let go of his hands...

and take my hands.

Then I will be on your side...

no matter what others say.

I will make sure...

Ga Eun will be by your side.

Dae Mok is aiming for the right to make currency.

Stop him.

If that is too hard,

trust your mother...

and drag on for four days.

I will...

be counting on you then.

Hyun Seok.

What do you think Dae Mok will do...

if I do not give him the authority to make currency?

I will protect you no matter what.

Can I be greedy...

on her when I am pathetic like this?

Do I deserve to be greedy?

Your Majesty.

If I can see her one more time...

I thought I would be able to...

endure in my entire life with just a glance of her.

But now,

I cannot stand just the thought of...

not being able to see her again.

Hyun Seok.

Yes, Your Majesty.

Tell the Chief Eunuch to call the royal physician.

Yes, Your Majesty.

His Majesty is canceling today's assembly...

as he does not feel so well today.

What happens if His Majesty continues not to join the assembly?

The Queen Dowager called him in secretly last night.

I guess it is because of her that he is not coming to the assembly,

making his illness as an excuse.

Find out what she used to move him.

Yes, master.

The longest he can drag on is four days anyway.

What is the reason behind it?

He will have no choice...

if we do not give him the poppy wine.

Your Majesty, the group sent the message that they will not...

send the poppy wine...

if you do not pass the right to make currency.

Master, it is the head of the Bureau.

The ship with the copper is arriving tomorrow.

Are you certain of it?

I am sure.

You must go get the copper by any means...

even if it means to mobilize all our soldiers.

This way. Be careful.

Be aware that these are very precious.

Get that box.

You!

You...

Did you think you will be fine after you entrapped me?

My goodness.

You punks!

I am fine. You should guard the copper.

I said I am fine!

- We should go. - What about the copper?

No!

Your Majesty. Today is the 15th.

Please attend the meeting and give them the right to produce currency.

If I do that, the Queen Dowager will not let me see...

Lady Han again, let alone make her my court lady.

Your Majesty. Please think about your health.

Your Majesty. We have to allow Sangpyeong Tongbo...

in order to relieve the shortage of currency.

Fortunately, the Bureau of Water Supply has enough copper.

Please grant them the right to produce currency...

and let them make Sangpyeong Tongbo.

Third State Councilor, did you get the copper?

I apologize, Your Majesty.

I sent someone to the Bureau of Trade,

but I have not heard from him yet.

Your Majesty. We cannot put off making Sangpyeong Tongbo anymore.

Please grant the Bureau of Water Supply the authority...

and stabilize the public welfare.

Please approve of this.

- Please approve of this. - Please approve of this.

I shall...

Could you take the post of...

Minister of Personnel...

to keep your oath, not to break it?

Someone who lives for the people, not for the government.

The people need someone who will stand against Pyunsoo Group.

Minister of Personnel has to be...

the central figure who will fight Pyunsoo Group from now on.

He will become an eyesore to Pyunsoo Group.

It is a life-and-death job.

I cannot even imagine...

asking someone else to take it.

Master. I dare to ask you.

Please risk your life...

for the people.

Your Majesty.

I am Woo Bo, a former assistant master at Sungkyunkwan.

I have to tell you something very urgent.

How rude! This is not the place you can barge in.

Master Woo Bo?

Tell me what it is right now.

Your Majesty. I found out why we have not been able to import copper.

I heard it was due to the plunder of the pirates.

It was not, Your Majesty.

As I looked into it, I learned that it was not the pirates who took it.

It was an evil group of men who...

disguised themselves as pirates and trafficked copper.

They disguised as pirates?

Yes, Your Majesty.

I sent the adjunct of Capital District Office...

and confirmed that they took away the copper.

What happened to the copper then?

Did you obtain it?

You should have gotten a better carriage.

Move!

Fortunately, I was able to seize the copper from them.

It must have been delivered to the Ministry of Finance by now.

Please confirm it.

It is at the Ministry of Finance now?

Is that true?

Yes, Your Majesty.

Minister of Finance. Go to the ministry...

and check if the copper has arrived immediately.

Yes, Your Majesty.

Your Majesty.

The ministry has received enough copper for producing...

100,000 Sangpyeong Tongbo.

Is that...

Is that true?

Yes, Your Majesty.

Ministry of Finance shall produce Sangpyeong Tongbo immediately,

and relieve the shortage of currency,

and stabilize the public welfare.

Yes, Your Majesty.

Your Majesty!

Lady Han...

I did not think that Chief Peddler...

could really make this happen.

He does not seem to be an ordinary man.

What should we do about the man named Woo Bo?

You said he did played a crucial role.

Yes. He rushed into the hall to inform that...

the copper was at the Ministry of Finance.

You should have seen the faces of...

Chief State Councilor and Second State Councilor.

I am more curious about...

what kind of a look Dae Mok would have on his face.

You lost copper to them,

and you could not get the right to produce currency either?

You just proved yourself that you do not deserve...

to be the leader of Pyunsoo Group.

Father.

Give up your position as the leader,

and do not show yourself until I call you.

Goodness. Please...

Please give me one more chance.

- Master. - Get out now!

Subtitle ripped and resynced by redixion

Did you say...

it was the Chief Peddler who did it?

Yes, master.

That rat...

joined hands with the Queen Dowager.

How are those two related?

Forgive me.

I have not been able to find that out yet.

Did you find out where that Chief Peddler is?

No, I am sorry.

Find him and bring him to me right now!

Yes, master.

He looks so much like...

the late King when he was young.

(Episode 16 is coming up.)

How does he look so much like the late King...

when he was young?

Episode 16

Please have a seat. Episode 16

Episode 16

Thanks to you,

we were able to produce the currency we need.

You have done a great deed for this nation.

You are too kind, Your Highness.

Yes.

Since you have done a great deed,

it is natural to award you for what you have done.

But why do you wish to become the Minister of Personnel?

My apologies, Your Highness,

but I do not wish to become the Minister of Personnel.

If not you...

The previous Assistant Master at Sungkyunkwan, Master Woo Bo,

played a big role in this.

He sent Adjunct Park to the outskirts...

and had him track the whereabouts of the copper.

You want me to make him,

not you, the Minister of Personnel?

Yes, Your Highness.

If you make him the Minister of Personnel,

he will strengthen His Majesty the King.

He will strengthen the King?

You know it was Pyunsoo Group that had been stealing the copper.

Please announce that the person...

who will stop Pyunsoo Group is the new Minister of Personnel,

and praise him.

And?

The Minister of Personnel has authority over appointments.

The loyal men dedicated to fight against Pyunsoo Group...

will gather around the Minister of Personnel.

Fill the Royal Court with them.

They will strengthen His Majesty...

and fight against Pyunsoo Group.

Loyal men who will fight against Pyunsoo Group.

Chief.

Why do you wish to fight Pyunsoo Group?

That is irrelevant, Your Highness.

Please ask me...

how we will take down Pyunsoo Group...

going forward.

You are as I had heard.

What is this? I did all the work.

You did nothing, but what? You are the Minister of Personnel?

What about me?

You said you will get me promoted!

That hurts!

What is that?

What else?

From this day forth, you are Deputy of Personnel.

Deputy of Personnel?

Deputy of Personnel? Really?

Master!

I shall devote my life to serve you!

Then...

will the two of you leave the palace first?

It has been a while since I was home,

so I wish to look around first.

Be careful and make sure no one notices you.

Yes, I shall.

Subtitle ripped and resynced by redixion

Dae Mok!

Run.

Father!

You wish to repay me?

Yes, Your Highness.

I have not...

restored your father's honor yet.

You remembered...

my father, when everyone else had forgotten him.

Even if it takes a lifetime,

I will repay you for your kindness.

Come closer.

Why did innocent father...

have to die?

It is because...

we had a foolish King.

Do you know that the Bureau of Water Supply...

demanded payment of everyone's debt at once?

Yes, Your Highness.

That was...

the Bureau playing tricks in order to obtain...

the authority to produce currency.

What is worse is,

the King...

took the Bureau's side.

Are you saying...

His Majesty discarded the people?

If I had not stepped in,

the Bureau would have obtained the authority to produce currency.

If that had happened,

how terrible...

would life have become for the people?

I do not want to even think about it.

Do you...

truly want to repay me?

Yes, Your Highness.

In that case,

become a court lady.

I need eyes and ears that I can trust.

Using those eyes and ears,

I shall keep watch over the King.

Because...

I...

plan to dethrone...

the King...

for the sake of the people.

I have told you what is in my heart.

Please give me your response.

Give me an answer...

when you return.

Here.

Let the Deputy of Personnel pour you a drink.

- Careful. - What?

- Careful. - What? I am fine.

Why are you such a fool?

- Are you drunk? - How dare you?

What will you do about Ga Eun?

Will you go after her...

or let her go?

I...

do not deserve...

to be with Ga Eun.

Then let her go, you punk.

You are not the only man in this world.

Poor Ga Eun lost her father.

I should take good care of her.

She will marry someone who is infinitely better than you.

A man who is as handsome as me.

You still blame yourself...

for Deputy Magistrate Han's death.

It is my fault.

Due to my reckless decision...

I am the one who beheaded him.

With my own two hands,

I beheaded him.

Chung Woon.

Do you think...

I feel less guilty than you?

I have told you many times.

It was not your fault.

It is Pyunsoo Group who killed Deputy Magistrate Han.

Right, it is Pyunsoo Group.

How many times do I have to tell you?

You lost your father...

because of Pyunsoo Group.

You also lost your mother and Chun Soo.

Will you lose Lady Han because of Pyunsoo Group?

After you lose everything,

will you blame it all on Pyunsoo Group?

No, Chung Woon.

I can lose everything...

but Ga Eun.

I cannot lose her.

Without...

Without Ga Eun,

I cannot live.

Then be a court lady.

Ga Eun.

Like the sun that waits for the moon,

I will always...

be with you.

Even if I cannot see you,

no matter how you change just like the moon,

I will protect you.

Will you remember that?

Remember that I am always by your side.

Remember that...

you are not alone.

Lady Han.

Have you...

been well?

Did the leader of the Bureau of Water Supply trouble you again?

You do not look well.

- Are you okay? - You are not Chun Soo.

Why do you keep showing up?

Do not show up again.

You have the same face and voice.

I do not want to hear that you worry about me.

I am a fool.

Come back to your senses.

He is not Chun Soo.

He will not come back.

Perhaps he forgot about me...

because I asked him to.

The Chief Peddler met with Queen Dowager...

with a new Minister of Personnel.

Have you tracked down the chief peddler?

He is going to the large merchant meeting tonight.

What shall I do?

Send the men and bring him here.

Do whatever it takes to bring him here!

Yes, master.

Who is that?

Where are you going?

I am on my way back from following the court lady's order.

You may go.

Thank you.

As expected, he is the Crown Prince.

Is Yi Sun still alive?

What shall I do?

Watch him closely for the time being.

Like the sun that waits for the moon,

I will always be with you.

Kko Mool.

I am sorry, but can you get up?

Where did you find the drawing?

I drew it.

Where did you see it?

The Chief Peddler had it.

He was looking at it like it was his treasure.

Chun Soo.

(Large Merchants' Meeting)

- It was a good time. - Someone is here.

Why are you so late?

I came to see the Chief Peddler,

However, I cannot find him.

He will be here.

He will be happy to see you in the capital.

Do you think so?

How long will you stay in the capital?

I am not sure. It depends on the Chief Peddler.

What is the matter?

Master Dae Mok ordered his men to bring the Crown Prince.

- To where? - He found out he is coming here.

We must stop him from coming.

Chief.

I wish to ask you something.

I will never ask you this again.

This will be the last time.

Are you...

really not Chun Soo?

Move it!

Chief.

Chief.

It is fine.

A wound like this will not be a threat to his life.

How dare you attack...

my visitor in my house.

- Master Dae Mok said... - Shut it.

You made me look like a fool.

Leave immediately.

Gon.

Are you sure my grandfather does not know about...

the Crown Prince?

Yes. He knows him only as the Chief Peddler.

Why did you hide from me?

Do you know just how much...

I missed you?

Do not cry...

Ga Eun.

I am sorry...

I pretended not to know you.

Chun Soo.

I wished to...

I wished so much to...

be able to call your name again.

I thought that keeping my distance...

would keep you alive.

But never once...

did I forget you.

I will never leave you alone again.

I hope...

you will never leave me either.

Do you truly want to repay me?

In that case,

become a court lady.

I plan to dethrone...

the King...

for the sake of the people.

Subtitle ripped and resynced by redixion

(The Emperor)

I plan to tell Ga Eun the truth before she leaves.

I cannot put it off any longer.

Will you permit me to be with her?

Leave the Chief Peddler alone.

I am in love with him.

What will you give me for sparing his life?

Why did you take so long to return?

I will never leave your side.

I do not want to leave you behind again.
